“I..I.. was coming back from…from buying something close to my lodge,but then…then…I saw a ghost laughing at me!!”Immediately she made the statement, Vanessa who was watching the show broke down into an uncontrollable laughter.
Tony and Mariam turned to her at once immediately they heard her laugh.
“Seriously? Is she laughing?”Tony thought, looking at her surprisingly.
“What’s funny with what I said huh?”Mariam glared at her.
By now,tony already dropped her.
“Everything is funny, seriously…how can a ghost be…la..laug…”She broke down into another round of laughter, without completing her statement.
Mariam clenched her fist, while glaring h@tëfully at Vanessa.
“So why did you run to my lodge, instead of yours?”Tony asked her and she breathed.
“I’m..I’m.. scared!! I can’t go back to my lodge,the ghost might come again!!”She stammered, trying to hug tony again but he stepped back slowly.
“So what are you going to do now?”Tony asks her and she smiled.
“I’m sleeping here of….”
“You’ve gone nuts! Why would you sleep here huh?”Vanessa thundered fiercely and the duo looked at her.
“Are you normal? Why can’t I sleep here huh?”Mariam half yelled, walking towards Vanessa.
“Cos your presence makes me wanna puke!”Vanessa squeezed her face and Mariam gasped while tony chuckled lowly.
“You don craze abi? Tony you’re not saying anything? Your annoying roommate…”
“Mariam there’s no way you can sleep here”Tony cut her off and her eyes widened.
“Help me tell her. Maybe her ear….”
“Vanessa stop talking”Tony fired back at her and she rolled eye.
“Why can’t I sleep here tony?”Mariam asks hurtfully.
“Cos I have a roommate,there’s….”
“She should go to hell”Mariam scoffed and Tony sighed.
“Mariam you just don’t….”
“Why would I understand huh? I’m telling you that a ghost laughed at me,what if the ghost comes back and kill me huh? You’re only worried about her!!”Mariam hiccuped, glaring at Vanessa who only chuckled.
“I care about you Mariam…”
“No you don’t”She cuts him off and Tony heaved deeply.
What sort of Sh|t has he gotten into?
“Okay,you can sleep here for tonight”Tony told her and she jumped up happily,but what he said next got her eyes widening.
“I’ll sleep over at kenn’s lodge”
“And why would you sleep over there huh?”Mariam jibbed angrily and Vanessa chuckled before standing up.
“Tony,I remember you saying that I’m senseless but aren’t you daft here? Can’t you get what’s happening? This thing here….”She began, pointing at Mariam while squeezing her face.
“Wants to spend some time with you,so I guess I’ll be the one leaving”She completed and Tony gasped while Mariam smirked.
“Good,just disappear”Mariam rolled eye.
“She’s not leaving. Vanessa where do you think you’re going huh?”Tony directed the question to Vanessa.
“You see tony,I value my life… so I can’t stay here with her. She might wake up in the midnight and strangle me to death. I don’t want such happening okay?”She clicked her tongue, while shaking her head.
“Vanessa…”
“Don’t worry tony,I’ll be back by morning and I believe she’ll be gone. I can’t stand her annoying face. Urgggh!!”She groaned and without waiting for Tony’s reply,she walked out of the room slamming the door behind her.
“Uff!!”Mariam huffed and turned to Tony with a smile.
“Now the room is ours!”She winked and Tony sighed tiredly.

√√SAM’S HOUSE √√
“Thanks!”Vanessa smiled after Sam gave her a glass of an orange juice.
“I’m glad you came over”Sam stated, sitting on the empty space beside her.
“It’s my pleasure too”she smiled and Sam nodded.
“What do I offer you?”He asks and Vanessa chuckled.
“You don’t have to stress yourself,I’m good”She smiled and Sam clicked his tongue, while shaking his tongue refusing to what she’s saying.
“I’m saying a big no to that. I have to go make something for you”Sam said standing up and Vanessa chuckled happily.
“Oh wow,you wanna prepare something for me?”She gushed and Sam sent a charming smile her way.
“Of course”He replies her and Vanessa gushed again.
“You can entertain yourself by watching movies while I do the cooking huh?”He said and gave her the remote control.
“Awwn, thanks”She smiled.
Sam smiled at her one last time before going into the kitchen.
Vanessa switched on the TV,then began watching the show while sipping from her drink occasionally.
After thirty minutes,Sam came back into the living room.
“All done my lady”he bowed funnily and Vanessa chuckled.
“My lady?”She asks with a raised brow and Sam nodded.
“This way please”He nudged at her,directing her towards the dinning.
Vanessa stood up with a smile then followed him.
The moment they both walked to the dinning,Sam pulled out a chair for her and she sat down.
“A second please”He said and rushed back inside the kitchen,to bring out the remaining meals.
“Woah! You did cook all within the time frame of…ohmiGod!!”She gasped, covering her mouth with her palms.
“I did tell you I’m going to treat you nicely,so allow me do that!”He winked and began setting the meals on the table,with Vanessa smiling happily.
Oh! How much she missed this treatment!
“Here you go! Have a taste of the fried fish!”He nudged at her to have a bite.
“Mhmmm”Vanessa Mõ@ned, enjoying the taste.
“Wow,this is really good!”She complimented, having more bites.
“I know right? This is just the beginning. I’m going to spoil you”He winked and Vanessa smiled.
“Thanks!!”She winked back at him and faced the delicious delicacies in front of her, seeking for attention.
Meanwhile in…
√√TONY’S LODGE √√
Tony stirred tirelessly on the bed,he’s been trying to sleep for ages now but seems like there’s no possiblity of such cos he ain’t feeling sleepy at the moment.
His mind suddenly went to Vanessa and he roughed his hair.
How is she doing over there? Is she alright? What if something happened to her? How could she just go to someone she barely knows, and it’s Füçking comfortable over there? All this thought ran through his mind at a go and he heaved deeply.
“Ah!!!!!”Mariam spranged up from the bed while breathing heavily, which got tony rushing over to her.
“You fine?”He asks, trying to feel her temperature but Mariam hugged him tightly while hiccuping.
“Gho..ghost!!”She stuttered and Tony sighed.
“I’m here and as you can see, there’s no ghost here. When did you suddenly became afraid of ghosts this much huh?”Tony quires and Mariam coughed.
“It…it…I don’t even know. Maybe that’s cos of how the ghost was laughing at me,you needed to see it”she faked tears and Tony bite his bottom lips hardly, suppressing his anger.
He wanted to tell and scream out his lungs cos he was getting pissed,but he kept calm cos of the relationship between them.
“You could have gone to Amanda’s room instead yunno,you guys are lodge mates and you think running here….”
“Amanda is a girl just like I am,so…I’m.. I’m..scared”she continued with her drama and scratched his hair.
“Go back to sleep,there’s no ghost here”tony told her and she shook her head in decline.
“Mariam wetin dey sup na? You’re going to get me angry! What’s up with this?”He almost yelled but his voice came out calm.
“I’m..just scared,let’s sleep together”She said and Tony sighed.
“Fine,I’ve heard you”he scoffed and Mariam smiled secretly before adjusting for him,she joined her on the bed reluctantly and when he did,Mariam hugged him tight.
“I’m scared,let’s stay like this please”She pleaded and Tony huffed inwardly while Mariam smuggled more close to him,her hearts bubbling in joy.
“Good night tony!”She exhaled.

√√NEXT MORNING √√
Tony woke up yawning tiredly,but his eyes widened at what he saw.
The whole room has been swept,and it was sparkling so much.
He came down from the bed,then walked towards the kitchen to see that the whole dishes has been washed,he opened the pot and an egusi soup with kpomu has already been prepared.
She arched his brow,and went back to the room but met Mariam coming out from the bathroom, dressed in one of his clothes.
“Good morning tony?!”She waved happily and Tony nodded with a forced and surprised look.
“You..you did all that?”He pointed and Mariam nodded.
“C’mon,it’s nothing actually”She smiled.
“Thanks thou”He said.
“You don’t have to thank me”She smiled.
“My..my..cloth…”
“Oh..that,I’m really sorry for putting it on without your consent. It’s daybreak already and I can’t go back dressed in my transparent nightie,that’s why I put on your shirt. I’m really sorry”She pouted.
“You don’t have to be actually”He said and Mariam walked to him.
“Really?”She asks, taking hold of his hand.
He got interupted when a knock sounded on the door,he looked at Mariam and slowly removed her hand from his.
He went over and opened the door,then Vanessa walked in.
She looked at Mariam cos she was putting on Tony’s shirt,and she didn’t know how to feel or react at the moment.
She turned to Tony,who looks obviously innocent then she finally turned back to Mariam.
“Why are you putting on his shirt?”She couldn’t help but ask.
Mariam only chuckled and walked closer to her.
“Well you can ask tony for answer”She clicked tongue,then faced tony.
“I really enjoyed last night,you’re d@mn sweet down there”She winked and Tony’s eyes widened.
What do she mean he is d@mn sweet down there? Something dey work her nii? He wanted to reply,but Mariam beat him to it.
“Let’s do this again and bye!”She waved and rushed out immediately.
Mariam turned angrily to Tony who took steps backwards.
“I don’t know….”
“Cut the crab and tell me what you did with her!”Vanessa cut him off angrily and his eyes widened in shock.
