≤ HOW IT ALL BEGAN ≈ THE YEAR 2006, SEPTEMBER≥
Antonio McBroom and Rebecca came down from the car after they arrive at the orphanage. Rebecca look the orphanage and sighed.
“Are you really sure about this, Antonio?” Rebecca asked with her eyes glued on the building.
Antonio smiled and wrapped his hand around her shoulder. “I’m sure of it, Rebecca. You’re barren, so I think it’s a good idea if we adopt a baby, that way he won’t know we’re not his parents. You have to promise me one thing, Rebecca” Antonio said, holding her hand.
“What promise?” She asked”
“That you will never tell our baby he was adopted. I think it’s better he doesn’t know, so he can be comfortable with us, and become the heir to my wealth”
“What about his parents? I’m sure he might have one” Rebecca said.
“His parents died in a fatal motor accident, Rebecca. He was the only one that survived. He is just six months old, and that’s why he is put up for adoption. You are going to love him like your own son, right?” Antonio asked, and Rebecca smiled.
“Of course I will, Antonio. I don’t have a child and I can never be able to give birth, so I think this is a blessing from the heavens to be a mother to our adopted child” Rebecca said and Antonio smiled.
“Let’s go in” He said, and Rebecca nodded his head.

“According to my research from the hospital he was born. He was birthed on the first of February 2006. His real name is Morris Barker. Do you have any plans on changing his name?” The caretaker of the orphanage asked.
“Well since we will be his new parents, I’d like to give him another name. Adrian McBroom will be his name from now on” Antonio said, and Rebecca fake as smile.
“That’s Nice. Sign this papers and the baby will be yours” She said.
Antonio and Rebecca signed all the necessary papers and baby Adrian was brought to them. Antonio had a smile on his face as he carried Adrian.
“He’s so handsome, Rebecca” He said, smiling.
“Yes he is” Rebecca replied, dryly.
“Your name is Adrian McBroom, and we will be your parents from now on. I promise to shower you with all the love I could give” Antonio said, caressing his face. He was sleeping.
Rebecca looked at Adrian h@tëfully, but when Antonio looked at her, she faked a smile.

≤ SAME YEAR ≈ NOVEMBER, 2006 ≥
“Who is she?” Rebecca asked, when Antonio entered the house with Rebecca.
Antonio smiled and walked, closer to her. “Her name is Roseline. She’s our new maid. You complained about our previous maid who was in charge of the laundry, so I decided to get you another maid” Antonio said, and Rebecca looked at Roseline irritatingly.
“Don’t worry Rebecca. She’s great at what she does” Antonio said.
“How am I sure she can do a great job?” Rebecca asked, looking at Rebecca. She was carrying Adrian, who was now eight months old.
“I promise to do my best, if you give me the chance, ma’am” Roseline said, innocently.
“Fine, I will, but make sure you do a great job, understood” She said and Roseline smiled.

≤ JANUARY, 2007 ≥
“Aren’t you going home? The rest of the maids have gone home to spend the new year holidays with their family” Antonio said, and Roseline smiled.
“I’d have gone home, but I wanted to give you a gift. Happy new year, Sir. Antonio” Roseline said with a smile, giving Antonio a gift.
Antonio took the shopping bag from her and take a look inside.
“It’s just a little gift, Sir. Antonio. I know it’s not your kind of stuff but I hope you accept it” Roseline said, and Antonio smiled.
“Of course I will. One of my maids gave me a gift, it’d be unfair if I reject your gift”
“Thanks Antonio. I will be going home now” She said, trying to leave, but Antonio held her hand.
“What’s wrong Sir. Antonio?” She asked, innocently.
“Do you want to have a drink with me?”
“Huh?”
“It just few minutes left before new year, let’s drink into the new year, Roseline”
“What about Ma. Rebecca?” Roseline asked, looking around.
“She went to Barcelona. She’s visiting her sister there and she will be spending the new year with her, so I’m left with Adrian”
“Oh I see” Roseline muttered.
“So will you have a drink with me?” He asked, and Roseline smiled.

Their laughter was loudly heard as they click their glasses together. They were slowly getting influence by the alcohol they have taken.
“You’re so funny Sir. Antonio” Roseline said, laughing.
“You think I am? Then I will keep on cracking jokes for you”
Roseline giggles and look at her phone and she stood up. “Oh, it’s new year already. Welcome to 2007, Sir Antonio” She said jumping on her feet, laughing. She almost fell, but Antonio caught her before she landed on the floor, and they stare at each other drunkenly.
“Why are you looking at me, Sir Antonio?” She said, drunkenly and Antonio smile.
“You’re beautiful, Roseline” He said, and kissed her.
Roseline responded to the kiss, and that night they had s*x.

≤ FEBRUARY ≈ 2007 ≥
“You’re what!” Antonio asked, with a surprise look.
“I’m pregnant, Sir. Antonio. The night we made a mistake resulted to me getting pregnant. I’m a week pregnant,”
“You have to terminate it, Roseline”
“Why should I?” Roseline asked as tears falls down from her eyes.
“Because we having s*x was a mistake, so you should terminate the pregnancy. If Rebecca finds she’s going to kill me”
“Really? So you just going to close a blind eye about it? I can’t kill my own baby!”
“That’s the only option we have, Roseline. Rebecca is dangerous and we have to avoid her wrath. That’s why you have to terminate the pregnant before she finds out” Antonio said, and Roseline shakes her head as tears falls down from her eyes.
“I can’t kill my own child! I can’t do it!”
“Then you’re on your own, Roseline. I don’t want to ever see you near the mansion again” Antonio said, and walked away from Roseline.
“Don’t do this to me Sir Antonio!” Roseline screamed, crying.

“Love” Julio said hugging Rebecca when she came home, and Roseline looked at him with sad eyes.
“I’m sorry I couldn’t spend the new year holidays with you, Love. I needed more jobs in Singapore, so I could save up for how wedding” Julio said, smiling . Roseline looked at Julio and tears falls down from her eyes.
“What’s wrong, Love? Why are you crying?” Julio asked, cleaning her tears.
“I’m so sorry, Love” She said, breaking into tears.
“What are you sorry about?”
“I’m pregnant” Roseline said, and Julio took his hands away from her.
“You’re pregnant? But how’s that possible, Roseline? You were a virgin when I left Dashie few months ago. I didn’t want to have s*x with you, because I wanted our wedding night to be special”
“I am so sorry Love, it happened so fast. I was drunk that night, and I lost my sense of reasoning. Sir Antonio and I had s*x. I’m so sorry, love” Roseline said, crying.
Julio held the chair as his eyes became wet. “What did he say about it?”
“He wants me to get rid of the baby, but I don’t want to do it. I can’t kill my baby” Roseline said, crying.
Julio went closer to her and wiped her tears. “Stop crying, Love. It’s not healthy for the baby” He said, sniffling.
“Julio”
“We are still going to push through with our wedding”
“What about the baby?” Roseline asked, sniffling.
“It won’t be bad if I take the responsibility of being your child’s dad, right?”
“Julio” Roseline said, crying.
“I wasn’t joking when I said I love you, Roseline. If becoming a father to Antonio’s child will prove my love for you, I will gladly do it” He said in-between tears.
“I am sorry, Julio. I’m sorry” Roseline said and hugged Julio crying.

≤ AUGUST, 2010 ≥
Roseline rushed inside the hospital, after she was called that Julio fell down from the rooftop while trying to go to Jane who was already strike with blindness.
She broke into tears after she saw the situation Julio and Jane was in. Jane’s eyes were bandage, and Julio looked half-dead, he couldn’t speak or blink his eyes.
“Why isn’t he getting treated, please do everything to save my husband and daughter” Roseline said crying.
“He’s in a critical condition, and we will begin the treatment if you deposit a down payment of $1000″ The doctor said.
$1000? Where on earth am I going to get such money?” Roseline asked, sniffling.
“Where’s the patients that had the accident?” Antonio said, entering the hospital ward with Rebecca.
Antonio gulped down hard after he saw Roseline’s face. Rebecca furrowed her eyebrows after she saw the way Roseline and Antonio were looking at each other.

“How are you, Roseline?” Antonio asked, her. Both were outside the hospital.
“You really know how to bring pains to me, don’t you, Antonio? After abandoning I and your child, you still had to bring pains to me!”
“Why are you blaming me, Roseline? I didn’t plan for Julio to fall down from the rooftop, neither did I plan for my child to die”
“You have no right to call Jane your child, when you deny her even before she was born!”
“I didn’t deny Jane, Roseline. I just didn’t want to get into Rebecca’s wrath. I’m going to help you Roseline, but you have to keep Jane’s identity a secret. Rebecca can know that Jane is my daughter”
“Jane is your daughter?” Rebecca asked from behind them, and they looked at her.
“Rebecca” Antonio muttered her name, fearfully.
“You had a child with another woman. How dare you Roseline? How dare you sleep with my husband!” Rebecca shouted, trying to attack Roseline, but Antonio prevented her from hitting Roseline.
“Let go of me, Antonio! Let me go!” Rebecca screamed in rage.

Rebecca’s voice could loudly be heard as she ranted at Antonio.
“So you and Roseline had a kid and you kept it from me? For good three years, I have been in the dark about the sin you have committed. How dare you do this to me!” Rebecca shouted at him.
“I’m sorry if I cheated on you, Rebecca. It was a mistake, I never planned for it to happen, but now that my daughter is in danger, I need to help her pay for her surgery so she can see again”
“I won’t allow you do that, Antonio. She should go blind”
“Look, I know I wronged you, but I want to help my daughter. I did Jane wrong by telling Roseline to terminate her. It’s time I be a father to her and help her see again”
Rebecca clenched her fist, and smiled. “If you say so, then I have no other choice, but to agree to it”
“Really?”
“Yeah. Can you make me coffee, I need to quench my thirst” Rebecca said.
“I will be right back, Rebecca” He said and leaves, and Rebecca frowned her face afterwards.

Antonio was busy preparing the coffee, Rebecca ask him to prepare when she tiptoed towards him, and before he could turn his head to look at her, Rebecca stucked an injection in his neck, and Antonio fell the ground, shaking.
“What have you done?” He asked, in a low voice, and he could feel his joints dying already.
“It’s just an injection that will make you paralyzed, and I will be keeping injecting you every months, so that you won’t have the strength to walk again. This is what you get for betraying me Antonio, and that Jane, I will never allow her become the heiress of your wealth!” Rebecca shouted.
She gave out an evil laugh when she saw how Antonio was struggling to breathe and move at the same time.
“Don’t worry Antonio, you’re not going to die, but I will make sure everyone thinks you’re dead” Rebecca said and laughed wickedly again.

≤ SAME DAY ≥
Four years old Adrian entered the house and met Rebecca crying. He just came back from school. The maids were unaware of what Rebecca did, because she sent them packing so she can push through with her wicked plans.
“What’s wrong mom? Why are you crying?” He asked and Rebecca increase the volume of her cry, hugging Adrian.
“Your dad is dead, Adrian. He left us for good. He left me. I’m alone now!” She said, crying.
“You’re not alone mom, I’m hear from you” Adrian patted Rebecca, who let out an evil smile, afterwards.

≤ SOME DAYS LATER, SAME YEAR, 2010≥
“What did heck are you doing here?” Rebecca asked Roseline when she came to her mansion. Roseline sniffled and went on her knee.
“Please ma’am, I need your help. My husband is dying and my daughter will go blind if she’s not treated”
“Do you think that I care? I rather burn my money than help you, Roseline. You’d me wrong by sleeping with my husband, and now that he’s dead, I’d be happy if your husband and that child of yours dies!”
“Ma’am, please don’t do this to me. I know I wronged you, but please have compassion” Roseline said, crying.
“I no longer have compassion for humans, because a devil is already on the shoulder where the angel used to be. Guards!!! Take this animal out of my house!” She commanded, and as Roseline was dragged out of the compound, she kept begging Rebecca.

≤ JUNE, 2038 ≈ DASHIE ≥
Rebecca walked closer to Roseline and grabbed her hair, and she winced in pains.
“Even if you keep being alive a secret from Jane, it’s still not compared to what you and Antonio did to me, that’s why I will keep on hurting Jane, with every chance I get!” Rebecca shouted with rage and Roseline looked at her with wetty eyes.
“Stop hurting my daughter, Rebecca. She’s not to be blame for all of this. I made Jane believed I was dead, I allowed her cried on an empty coffin, isn’t it enough punishment”
“It’s not enough Roseline! Even if you take the medicines a million times, so you’d be dead for few hours, it’s still not going to be enough. The worse mistake that Jane made was coming into Adrian’s life. I was the most happiest person on earth when she became blind, but because of Adrian, she was able to see again. I’m not going to kill her, if I wanted her dead, I’d have done it a long time ago. I’m going to make her suffer and destroy everything she worked hard for, that’s the price she has to pay for being Antonio’s daughter!” Rebecca said and worked out of the room.
“Rebecca leave my daughter alone! Let her be!” Rebecca said crying, as she did her best to break free from the chains, but it was fruitless.

≤ JANE’S MANSION ≥
Jane came downstairs and sees Romeo sitting on the couch, obviously waiting for her.
“What are you doing here?” She asked, walking up to him. Romeo stood up to his feet and hugged her.
“I heard what happened to you. You must be sad about it” He said, still hugging her, but Jane broke the hug.
“I am fine. You should leave, Romeo”
“Why are you the only one at home? Your house look space out, Are you moving out?”
“Yes I am. The culprit who exploded my company might aim for this house, so I need to move Kayla to a safer place”
“Where are you moving to?” Romeo asked.
“You don’t have to know, Romeo. I think this is where we say goodbye to each other. I don’t want to be friends with you anymore” Jane said and turned to leave, but Romeo grabbed her hand.
“What are you doing? Let go of me”
“So you’re just going to leave me just because your company is no more? I thought you were going to marry me and that’s why I kept doing everything for you”
“I didn’t ask you to do anything for me, Romeo. You did it on your own free will”
“I did it because I wanted you to love me, and you gave me hopes by accepting all my gifts. We have to get married, Jane!”
“I told you countless times that I’m not interested in marrying you, I don’t like you” Jane said, and Romeo slapped her so hard on the face, and Jane yelped
“You belong to me Jane. You can’t leave me!” He screamed like a psychopath and grabbed her neck.
“If I can’t have you, then no one else will, Jane. I love you, and I am crazy about you” He said, tightening his hand on her neck.
Jane could feel life slowly draining out of her, as she tried to pull Romeo’s hand away from her neck.
“I’m going to die with you, then we can be like Romeo and Juliet. We…. ” He was stopped halfway because a flying kick from someone push him to the ground, and he hits his head on the glass table.
“Jane, are you okay?” Adrian asked worriedly, and tears fell down from Jane’s eyes after she saw his face.
“If aren’t okay I can….. ”
Jane hugged him tightly, resting her head perfectly on his chest.
“I’m okay being in your arms” She muttered, hugging him tightly, like he was going to run away, if she doesn’t hug him tightly.
