CHAPTER 6

Pascal quickly took his hand away and stood straight, stepping back from her.
Josephine blinked severally and sat back without taking the remote.
“I will go and eat, I will watch the replay” He said, avoiding her face.
“You are acting weird, are you okay?” She asked.
“Yes miss Josephine” He replied and left.
Josephine’s eyes followed him and she couldn’t help but wonder what happened earlier.
Why were they staring at each other like that? And why is he suddenly avoiding her face after that? Was he embarrassed or something?
She shook her head and concentrated on her movie.
Pascal’s mouth was full up with the sweet chicken Josephine made.
It tasted delicious and he kept eating eagerly.
“She’s not a bad cook” He smiled and drank water from the glass, he didn’t go to the living room, he decided to settle here.
Why was his heart beating fast when their hands touched? This is not the first time it happened, it happened in her office before.
Is he nervous or….. Josephine isn’t a cold person, she is jovial and cool.
He dropped the plate in the sink and washed the plate before leaving the kitchen.
Josephine was about to leave the living room when he came in.
“Leaving already?” He asked and she replied with a yawn.
“Yes, good night kiddo” She smiled and started leaving.
“Good night aunt” He said.
“Stop calling me that”
“Stop calling me kiddo too” He said.
She rolled eyes at him before finally leaving.
“Cute” He smiled and fell on the couch.
Josephine tied her hair behind her as she came out of her room, walking to the living room to make something for breakfast.
She entered the living room and saw Pascal at the dining table.
“Kiddo” She said.
“Morning” Pascal responded.
“What are you doing?” She asked.
“Setting the table for breakfast” He replied.
“You cook?”
“Yes” He smiled.
“The food was delicious, I forgot to compliment you” He said and she nodded with a smile.
“I know you weren’t expecting that from me”
“You catch me, I wasn’t expecting a rich girl like you to know how to cook”
“Hey! Stop calling me a rich girl, you don’t know me” She frowned.
“You own a car, you are a freshman…
“That doesn’t count, let’s stop talking about me, remember I’m your teacher”
“There she goes again” He said and giggled.
“I’m starving” She said and he walked to her.
He took her hand and she looked at him.
“What are you doing?
“Taking my teacher to the dining table” He replied and she laughed.
“Let’s go” He said and took her there.
“I’m coming” He said and left.
“It’s even better as I have him as a flatmate,” She smiled.
Pascal came out with a tray and he placed it on the table. He made a simple breakfast.
Bread, tea and eggs.
The appetizing smell that was oozing from the steaming breakfast was so enticing.
He pulled out a chair for himself and sat down.
Their faces met and they smiled at each other before they started eating.
“How is it?” He asked.
“Good and perfect, boyfriend material, your future girlfriend will be lucky” She replied and he laughed.
“Yeah” He said proudly.
“I didn’t say it for you to show your ÇOçkiness” She scoffed.
“Aunt” He said and she looked at him with a frown.
“You look cute that way”
“Hey, are you trying to flirt with your teacher? I’m older” She said.
“I now wish I was older”
“Sorry” She said mockingly.
“We might get late, let’s hurry up” He said and she nodded.
They dressed up and came out of their rooms at the same time.
Josephine started walking to him and Pascal couldn’t take his eyes away from her till she got to him.
The skirt she was wearing was hugging her perfect figure and showing her right places in view, she tucked in the white long sleeve shirt and her flat shoes, giving her a gorgeous and attractive look.
“Let’s go” She flashed him a smile and started leaving.
“Pascal!!” He muttered and followed her.
They got out and Pascal started leaving but she called him back.
“You don’t wanna ride with me?” She asked.
“We don’t know each other in school right?” He smirked.
“Let’s keep it up with the pretence” He winked and walked away.
“Did he just wink, this kiddo” She said and entered her car.
She badly wanted to ride to school with someone but since he refused it’s fine.
Nathan closed the door behind him and immediately his phone buzzed in his pocket. He stopped and took the phone out.
He saw an email notification on the screen and he tapped on it, his eyes widened and excitement creeped in when he read the message.
The promoter of the show he submitted his name just sent him an approval to perform in the concert.
It would be a great platform for him if he finally performed in front of a thousand people. Maybe his music would be found by people.
He smiled and pocketed his phone before leaving the house in a happy spirit.
“Awww” Nathan yawned as they stepped out of the class.
“Close your mouth, do you want to swallow me?” Jerry said and pushed Nathan.
“Hey!” Nathan turned to him.
Someone suddenly knocked Jerry on the head from behind and he turned to see Pascal.
“How dare you push my sweetheart?” Pascal said and Jerry rolled eyes.
“See, I don’t have the strength to withstand you guys’ argument, I’m starving” Nathan said.
“I’m coming” Pascal said.
“Where are you going?” Jerry asked.
“None of your business” Pascal replied and walked away.
“Bastard” Jerry said and he left with Nathan.
Pascal walked with a smile on his face till he got to Josephine’s office, he was some distance to the office when the door opened and Josephine came out with Laurent.
The smile faded away immediately he saw Laurent with her.
“Sir Laurent again? What is up with him? Does he know her before?” He scoffed.
“Let’s eat lunch together” Laurent said and Josephine nodded.
“Let’s go then” She said and Pascal started shooting daggers at Laurent with his eyes. He didn’t know why he was getting angry all of a sudden, seeing them together was making him feel somehow and uncomfortable. He h@tës him around her.
Laurent and Josephine turned and met him staring at them.
“Pascal” Laurent called.
“I will be back, miss Josephine” He forced a smile and walked away immediately.
“Let’s go” Laurent said and she smiled.
Pascal got to the cafeteria and the girls started calling out his name but he didn’t spare them a glance, not like he usually looks at them but there was a blank look on his face.
He settled down beside Nathan.
“What’s up with your face?” Jerry asked.
“I’m fine” He replied.
“You are not bro, what happened?” Nathan asked.
“I’m fine” He replied and took Jerry’s plate.
“Hey! What are you doing? Bring it back”
“Order a new one” Pascal said, already digging in the plate.
“I h@të you ok!”
“I know” Pascal said and Jerry left to get another plate.
“The promoter sent me an email” Nathan said.
“So you are performing” Pascal smiled.
“Yes”
“Congrats bro” Pascal said and they smiled but when his mind went to Josephine, a slight frown appeared on his face.

Josephine’s car drove into the house and immediately she came out, a taxi stopped there and Pascal came out.
She looked at him and he made to say something but he stopped and started going in.
“Pascal” She called and he turned.
“Yes” He replied blankly and Josephine squinted her eyes.
This is not his usual face, is he okay?
“Are you okay? You don’t look fine” She asked and he took his eyes away.
“I’m fine” He muttered and went in.
Josephine stood there confusingly, reflecting on his sudden behavior.
