“That you planned all this just to make Thalia
look like a cheating whore. Am sorry Cherry but
I’m not going to fall for your lies this time
around ” Romeo said leaving Cherry looking
dumb struck.
*****
“Romeo, you don’t really think that I planned all
of__”
“You did, Cherry. There’s no need pretending. I
found it weird that you wanted to apologise to
me all of a sudden and then you spotting Thalia
and insisting that we go after her, only a fool
wouldn’t guess after all of that” Romeo said
cutting her off.
Pulling out his phone, he made a call and spoke
for a while, his gaze on the idiot who tried to
take advantage of Thalia.
“You can’t arrest me, okay. I did nothing wrong”
the man said as he tried to get off the floor but
a kick on the face got him collapsing on the
floor.
“After trying to mess with my girl, you think you
will get out of it unharmed, think again dude”
Romeo spat out and going back to Thalia, he
lifted her into his arms.
At that moment two guards came into the room
lifting the unconscious man up.
“Make sure he’s locked up and am not settling,
spending some few years In jail will teach him a
lesson ” Romeo said to the guards who nodded
before taking him out of the room.
With Thalia still in his arms, he walked towards
Cherry.
“This will be the last time you pull such a trick.
I’m letting you off for now but don’t expect me
to do that next time and also keep your distance
from me”
The last statement got Cherry starring at him,
tears simmering her eyes. She could say
nothing to vindicate herself and so she watch
him leave with Thalia.
As soon as Thalia was comfortable in the
passenger seat, Romeo got into the driver seat
and was about to start the car when Thalia
stopped him.
“I didn’t mean to lie to you. I wanted to settle the
situation myself and that’s why I went to see
him but as soon as I got to his room, he hit me
with something which made me unconcious, I
only woke up to__”
“You don’t have to explain cause I believe you”
Romeo muttered as he took hold of her hand to
kiss it.
“I won’t deny that am a bit angry about the lie
you told earlier but that doesn’t matter. Just
promise me that you won’t dive into danger all
by yourself again ” he added earning a nod from
her.
With her seat belt intact, he started his car.

<< EVENING ~ CLUB RITZ >>
Daniella stood outside the club, looking good in
one of her best outfit.
She kept grinning to herself while thinking about
Jerry.
He had suddenly given her a call and had asked
her out. The only time, Jerry ever remember her
is when he needed her to put on a show for
Cherry’s sake but when he had asked her out
earlier, she could bet that he did that because he
wanted her company and not because of
Cherry.
Could it be that he’s finally noticing her?
Daniella thought as she checked her watch
since he seems to be running late.
“Daniella” Jerry call got her looking up and at
that moment, Daniella couldn’t help but to fall
for him again.
She was blushing hard when he got to her.
“The traffic was bad, am sorry I came late” he
apologize but a love sick Daniella didnt care as
long as he came to her safely.
“I can’t help but to wonder why you ask me
out?” She said hoping his answer will please her
but instead of answering straight away, he took
hold of her hand.
“Can’t I spend some time with my girlfriend?” He
asked in return and Daniella couldn’t help but to
feel please by his response.
Grinning like a fool, she followed him into the
club. A lot of people were there doing all sort of
thing but he pulled her up to the second floor
where Peter was drinking alone.
“Why do I suspect something going on between
you two?” Peter asked starring from Jerry to
Daniella.
Daniella was about to reply when Jerry put his
arm around her, surprising her.
“Don’t you think we look good together” Jerry
said making Daniella speechless.
Ever since they started this fake relationship,
they’ve never talked about it to their friends and
now that he’s doing it, could it be that he is
really in love with her?
“Of course you do. You make a lovely couple”
Peter said quickly, a genuine smile on his face.
“You heard that Daniella” Jerry muttered before
giving her a kiss on the lips.
Daniella was still reeling from the kiss when she
heard someone clapping.
“So you both are dating?” Cherry said as she sat
down beside Peter.
“I thought you were joking when you told Peter
on the phone an hour ago that you will show up
with your girlfriend. I wouldn’t deny that I was
expecting a girl__more sëxier but then it had to
be her” Cherry said looking at Daniella with
distaste.
“Don’t tell me you are jealous” Jerry said in
return and at that moment Daniella realise that
Jerry had only invited her just to make Cherry
jealous.
“Of course not. There’s nothing for me to be
jealous of, I wish you both the best” Cherry
replied mockingly.
Hating herself for being dumb and hating Jerry
for the whole situation, Daniella excused herself
and left the club while a surprised Jerry
followed her.
“Thank God they are gone. I don’t know why you
invited that moron when we’ve got a lot to talk
about” Cherry said to Peter who was enjoying
his whiskey.
“What are we going to do? Our recent plan failed
and now Romeo h@tës me. He doesn’t even
want to see me” Cherry voice out her frustration.
“Quit being noisy and stay calm “
“Stay calm? You are asking me to be calm when
the guy I love just told me to get lost for good?”
“With what I have in mind, he will be the one
chasing you around soon enough. So keep your
cool and listen” Peter snap while getting Cherry
attention.
Daniella got out of the club and was about to
hail a taxi when Jerry caught up with her.
“Why did you leave?” Jerry asked, breathing
heavily.
“Cause I h@të being used”
“Tch, I thought we both agreed to use each other
when we began this pretence”
” Well I h@të it! Am tired of being used just so
you can get back a girl who doesn’t love you”
“Watch what you say, Daniella”
“It is the truth. You keep on fighting for a girl
who doesn’t love you, who ridicules you at
wh@tëver chance she gets, when exactly Will
you realise that she’s not the one for you?”
“You pretending to be my girlfriend doesn’t give
you the right to lecture me” Jerry yelled at her.
“You are right. It doesn’t give me the right to
lecture you which is why am calling it quits”
“What”
“Let’s end this sham, Jerry. I can’t do it
anymore” Daniella said and made to leave when
a restraining hand on her arm stop her.
“Why are you suddenly quitting?” Jerry asked.
“Cause I can’t take it anymore, I can’t watch you
going after a girl who doesn’t love you when I
do” she yelled leaving him watching her in
silence.
“I love you Jerry, I love you so much that it hurts
but you can be rest assured, I won’t be a burden
to you or to Cherry, the girl you love ” with that
said, Daniella pulled away from him and quickly
got into the taxi.

<< ROMEO’S HOME >>
Thalia opened her eyes, expecting to find
herself in the hostel she shares with Michelle
but the room she’s in is far too big and
luxurious to be her’s.
The last thing she remembered was sleeping off
in Romeo’s car and he__ he must have brought
her to his house.
Quickly, she scrambled off the bed and went in
search of Romeo.
She would have gotten lost in the big house if
the house keeper hadn’t showed up.
“Boss is having a swim, let me take you to him”
the kind middle age lady said as she walk
Thalia to swimming area.
Romeo was luxuriating in the pool and failed to
notice Thalia watching him.
Thalia couldn’t help but to admire Romeo’s
body which was only clad in a black swimming
trunk.
“You are finally awake” he said when he did
notice her.
“You should have taken me back to the hostel”
she said as he swam to where she stood.
“I wanted to but then you dozed off and I was
tempted into bringing you to my place. Do you
like it?” He asked expectantly.
“It’s quite beautiful and also, it shows just how
different we are”
“How different are we?”
“You know that already, I don’t have to spell it
out” She said looking a bit sad and this got
Romeo getting out of the water.
“I see no difference between us, I love you for
who you are and I know you love me for who I
am and not for what am worth. So quit thinking
about irrelevant stuffs and have fun with me”
Romeo said, now standing in front of her,
dripping wet with hotness.
On hearing the word fun, Thalia couldn’t help
but to stare at his perfect tanned body.
She could imagine the kind of fun he had in
mind and she wouldn’t deny too that she was
tempted.
“I__I can’t stay. It’s late and I need to get back to
my hostel, Michelle would be worried about me”
she said quickly and was about to leave when
he drew her by the waist and into his arms, this
got her in close contact with his bare chest.
“Romeo I__” she was prevented from saying
more when he kissed her.
“I already called Michelle to explain and I’m
willing to wake up early just to take you to
school tomorrow, so stay the night ” he
whispered seductively and when she was about
to decline, he made them fall into the water
together.
“Are you crazy!” Thalia yelled when she came up
for air.
Romeo who was holding onto her gave her a
smile in return.
“With your clothes wet, you won’t be able to
leave now” he said now having s mischievous
smile on his face.
“You really are crazy” she said, swimming to the
edge of the pool while he followed suit.
“There’s something I want to give you” he said
giving her a little box which no doubt held an
expensive jewelry in it.
“I can’t take this” Tahlia said quickly but he took
the box from her and pulled out a necklace
which had a falling star as it’s pendant.
“You can’t refuse this, Tahlia. I got it made for
you alone, I even had our initials put on it” he
said showing her their names which was carved
on the pendant.
“I knew you were going to refuse if I just bought
you a jewelry which is why I had this made as a
symbol of our love and for you to ward off men
who might you attractive since I can’t always be
around you “
“You might refuse me any other thing but don’t
refuse this” he added and move towards her to
put it on her neck.
“Do you like it?” He asked when she kept
starring at it without saying a word.
“I like you more” she answered and gave him a
hug.

“What did you say?” Shaman Lola asked
starring at the monk who was seated in front of
her.
“You heard me, Lola” the monk replied slowly.
“B__but he already has someone with a strong
aura by his side, you were the one who told me
that if he can find someone with a strong aura,
it’s bound to break the curse”
“I didn’t say it will break the curse, I only said
that he should have someone with a strong
aura by his side” The monk corrected.
“If she can’t break his curse then what’s her use
by his side?” Shaman Lola asked.
“She will be the one to die in his stead” the monk
replied startling Shaman Lola with this
revelation.
