CHAPTER SIX: HIS REACTION
” snow, snow ” Alucard
repeat her name as she fall into his arms ”
snow?”
” my lord”
” are you alright ”
” I don’t know, I thought I saw”
” what?”
She shook her head ” I don’t remember ”
swearing under my throat I lift her up in my
arms, in a bridal style, she wrap her hands
around my neck, bury her face in my chest as I
turn around, back to the castle ” I beg you to
forgive me sweet snow” if I had known, I
shouldn’t have let her kiss me, the memory slip
out of me.
” forgive you milord? But why, what have you
done ” she lift her head to look at me but I did
everything in my power to not meet those eyes.
” I hope you never find out” I reply, my voice
suddenly harsh, she try getting off me but my
hold tighten.
” my lord ” staring down at her, I know I didn’t
please her with my harsh tone, do I even need to
please her? I bought her, not the other way
round ” please let go, I can walk now ”
” No”
” lord Alucard ” suddenly they is warning in her
voice ” I certainly h@të it if you raise your voice
at me ” a tear drop from her eyes, making me
stop walking, averting my gaze I continue
walking while she clean her tears.
” why does it bother you so much ”
” because I like you my lord ” she answer so
easily, girls are usually shy to say such things
first ” I like it when you’re calm ”
” hmm”
” Alucard ” she called my name without putting
the lord making me to look down at her and
stop walling, furrowing my brows she purred ” is
they a woman in your life?”
” No” my voice harsh, angry at myself that I
don’t h@të it when she called just my name, she
smile at my reply then rest her head on my neck,
those lips touching my skin.
I had to swallow to stay focus, minutes pass
and I knew the moment she fell asleep,
murmuring her name, I gather her into my arms
gently, with her eyes closed and the moonlight
shimmering in her face, she look like a princess
in a fairy tale.
A wave of tenderness swept through me as I
carry her into the silent darkness of the castle.
In her room, I put her to bed, fully clothed and
drew the covers over her, she was innocence
personified, I thought and for the first time in
centuries I h@të myself, h@të who I was, what I
was, because it killed the only woman I have
ever loved, depriving me of the chance to have
another.
For the fear that I will lose her to death.
Tenderness turn to regret, regret turn to anger
and anger burn into a hot rage, I have accepted
my life, knowing fully well that such things will
never be in my reach.
I have thought of myself, contented, happy until
snow, holding her have awaken feelings and
desire i thought i had buried.
With a low throat groan he bent over her, hating
her for the power she has over him, for the
weakness i felt when i look at her, my hands
brush a lock of hair from her neck.
Her scent fill my nostrils, stirring my hunger,
kindling my desire, if this is all I can have then
so be it, I thought before letting lose the beast
within me.

The next day I receive message that the ball
have been cancelled only to begin in two days
time but then that was the least problem he had,
he knew touching snow was a mistake, having
once tasted snow sweetness I could not think of
anything else, I sought her out at supper,
drinking from my wineglass and watching her
eat.
I listen calmly as she told me of her day and
after the meal I find myself sitting close to the
burning fire while she read to me, the sound of
her voice wash over me like a silken sunshine,
wondering how its possible for her to grow more
beautiful each passing day, her cheek bloom
with colour, her eyes sparkle, her skin glow with
youth and life, the fire light cast golden colour
on her profile, mesmerized like a love struck
youth i drew close to her, in the breathy sound
of her voice.
Several minutes passed before I realize she has
stop reading, starring back at me.
” is something wrong sweet snow?”
” no my lord ”
” why have you stop reading ”
A faint smile play over her lips ” I have stop
reading awhile ago ”
I frown ” will you tell me why”
” because the story is over my lord ” I look at her
for a long moment, feeling quite a fool before
laughing.
Snow stare at him, I hardly see him
smile, never seen him laugh like this before, it
was a wondrous sound, deep, rich and
contagious, I felt a wave of laughter rise up
within me, mingling with his until the walls echo
with the sound.
And then without knowing what’s happening, I
find him kneeling in front of me, my laughter
end in my throat ” snow” he took my hand in
his and kiss each one ” do you know how long
it’s been since I laugh like that?”
” No my lord”
” a very long time ” he reply, his gaze burning
into mine ” longer than you can imagine.
” then am glad I can make you laugh ”
” what can I give you in return”
” my lord?”
” a new dress to match your eyes, a fine gold?”
” I want nothing my lord, you have already given
me too much ” I mumble looking down ” and I
have given you nothing in return ”
” name your price sweet snow, you have but to
name it and its yours ”
” anything I want, truly?”
” Truly”
” I should very much like to have a mirror in my
room ” at that I watch him sit back, his eyes
suddenly shadowed and cold ” a mirror?”
I nod ” you have given me so many fine things, I
will like to see how I look ”
” very well ” he said, his voice tight ” you shall
have one ”
” did I say something wrong” I asked, my eyes
filled with confusion.
He shook his head and rose slowly to his feet ”
go to bed girl ” I stood slowly, my gaze not
averting from his, while his gaze remain on the
burning fire.
” will you not tell me what I have done to
displease you so ?”
His gaze didn’t waver from the fire ” go to bed
snow” his voice brittle like frozen glass
” very well, my lord” and yet another night, I lay
on my bed, confused as to what I did wrong.
