CHAPTER NINETEEN : YOUR BRIDE 1
Blinking back her eyes snow stood at her father’s graveside, she had left London the moment news reach her ears that her father was gravely Ill but she had arrive too late to bid him a last goodbye.
Standing there I remember how kind and funny he has always been when I was still a child and then suddenly laughter left his eyes, once I have thought of him, calloused and unfeeling, even if I understood his reason I still h@të him for selling me off.
But I have forgiven him long ago, I wished I had told him before he left, I murmur the words under my breath, hoping he could hear.
Turning around I glance at my cousin sisters who are too scared to come close, they have grown from pretty little girls into lovely young women, Aileen the eldest was engage in spring.
The graveside service was brief, when the last prayer was said I felt a gentle hand drop on my shoulder, giving me a slight squeeze to show his or her condolences.
Turning around I smile at Beelzebub ” lord Beelzebub ”
” my condolences snow” he look sad ” you must be feeling horrible ”
” he is my father isn’t he?” I smile ” he might have turn out horrible but we had our moment ”
” don’t think too much of it ” I nod my head after listening to him ” will you like to sit for a minute with me in the coffee shop, its empty right now, it will give you time to think ”
” okay ” he held my hand in his and take me into his carriage, moving slowly I stare at the city ” nothing has change ” getting my gaze to Beelzebub I murmur ” what about lord Alucard, how have he been ”
” I suppose he is back to his usual ways, the pursuit of women in bars, auction and other ungentle act ”
” hmm”
” blast his thought ” Beelzebub growl ” how was London, you were gone for five years ” the carriage stop and he help me down into the coffee shop, sitting down I nod .
” the school was splendid” I smile ” all thanks to Lord Alucard, for such opportunity ”
” was your time there, spent properly”
” not really ” I sip my coffee” after I place a man under my control, people became scared of me”

” the reactions was the same I received here ” licking my lips I purred” I suppose they is no different but enough of me, how have you been”
” am doing fine snow “he smile before sipping his coffee ” currently looking for a bride though”
” a bride?”
He nod” my mother won’t stop blabbering about grand children and how am losing my youth ”
” isn’t that harsh”
” it is but then, she remains my mother ” before I could reply, a very familiar woman step into the shop, her eyes roam around till it land on mine, a smile creep unto her lips and then I remember, Alucard mother, trivia.
” excuse me my lord ” standing to my feet I bow before moving to her direction ” I will say you came seeking me ”
” excellent ” she smile ” my thinking was correct after all, I knew you will show up this day, prepare yourself, we head to Alucard castle this night ”
” This night?”
” do not worry, I inform them last night of my arrival and besides the sun is a little too harsh today, I would not want to get burnt, this lotion will not work forever ”
” you mean sunscreen ” I ask while following her.
” wh@tëver you humans call it ”
” why do you need me accompanying you back to the castle ”
” remember our deal” she smile ” am introducing you as his new bride, though I will need you to wear a veil till after the marriage”
” what for ”
” I know Alucard, he refuse marrying you, am sure if he knows its still you, he will cancel the marriage ”
” Alright milady, I will do as you say” walking beside her, we step into a carriage ” lord Alucard is not here”
“How should I know, I left shortly after he sent you to London”
” he is not here” the coldness that invaded my body now creep into my heart, he didn’t bother in checking up on me after such news and I had dream of seeing him again, such a short time that we spent together and yet, he had been in my thoughts every hour of the day, in my dream very night.
We arrive at the castle, late, the sun already sleeping, the castle was as I remembered it, a stark and lonely sentinel looming over the town, the mist ever constant, shrouded devil tree mountain, so that only the tallest spires were visible from distance.
Placing the black veil over my head I nod, knowing he won’t want me here but I need to see him, need to see the castle, need to walk through the gardens, need to say what’s truly in my heart.
Have to marry him.
Dismounting at the side gate, I move behind the woman, step in and frown, the beautiful flowers I planted gone, the shrubs, the roses, once flourishing were now dry skeleton.
With a heavy heart I wandered down the narrow twisting path, all my hard work were gone.
With a sigh I made my way back to meet Lord Alucard mother but when I did, my foot stop walking, Alucard was standing right there, with Leo and Bevin.
They haven’t changed a bit ” why is her face covered ” Alucard growl, he sound pissed” surely you don’t take me as a fool, I will not marry who I don’t know”
” ridiculous ” trivia growl ” her culture forbids it ”
” d@mn stupid religion, blast the culture” in a blink of an eye he is standing by my side, my veil off my face, his eyes remain expression less.
Alucard had watched her walk in the gardens, she had changed in the last five years, youthful curves have mature, she had moved with womanly grace and self assurance, pride had grow in him, knowing he was responsible for what she had become.
Snow, her name rise in his head, chasing away centuries of darkness, why have you returned, come to torment me anew? To remind me of what can never be.
That was my thought, my wishful thinking because the moment I open her veil, it was someone else, no the face seem blurry, I couldn’t get it and then it became clear, like she is wearing a mask.
Touching her face I try moving it out but it seem strong ” Dracula”
Steeping back, the lady pick up her veil and quickly cover her face” do not pretend to be my mother trivia ”
” you promised ”
” I don’t know what she look like, all these is preposterous ”
” on your wedding night, the veil will be off” she smile ” the marriage should take place soon, I have other children to visit ”
“Get lost ”
” this is for us Alucard” she frown ” that is another confessor, you will have to perform it, this time ”
” I will do what I deem fit “my gaze move back to the lady who has snow scent ” Leo, take her to the guest room, save snow room, she is not to enter there”
” as you wish my lord ” and with that I left, back in my east tower, back to the darkness.
