THE WHITE HOUSE**
“Marriage?… What marriage?” Charlotte said, utterly confused.
Mr Robinson sighed and explained everything to them…
“17 years back when Emery was born, my family was in danger. I and Mr Baxter we had a huge feud resulting in the killing of our men… Mr Baxter being the head of the biggest and most dangerous clan in the country and me being the president, we knew that the war will lead to something huge and ugly. In order to settle down the feud, we signed a treaty and the treaty was Gavin and Emery. We agreed they’ll get married to each other in the future but something happened and Emery got missing along the way and one thing led to another till present.” Mr Robinson said.
Charlotte fell slumped on the chair as she couldn’t believe her ears. She’s always wished to be Mr Baxter’s real daughter but right now she’s taking it back because if she was then that means she was doomed in marrying Gavin to the detriment of Iris.
“You guys settling your dispute is cool but I don’t agree with the way you settled it. Gavin for the first time, is in love…” Kimberly said.
“I agree with Kim. Gavin is in love and not with any other person but Iris Williams, that girl has gone through a lot and finally she’s happy with Gavin. For the first time, she decided to open her heart to Gavin. Hearing all these will just break her for good.” Charlotte said.
Charlotte turned to Emery who was already feeling sad about these. She touched her shoulder and smiled..
“Emery, you’re my sister and I’ll want what is best for you…but this isn’t right” Charlotte shook her head negatively.
Emery looked down sadly as she began picking her fingers…
“Excuse me” Kimberly said and stood up then left the dining room.
Charlotte also stood too….
“Dad, you can leave with Emery when you want. I’ll just come later” Charlotte smiled and followed Kimberly behind.
“We’re so sorry for the inconvenience Mr Baxter” Mrs Robinson said.
Mr Baxter simply smiled. He looked at the stairs for a while before standing.
“We’ll be leaving now, please one of your guards should escort Charlotte home when she’s done. Emery, let’s leave” Mr Baxter said.
Emery nodded and stood up.
They shook hands before leaving…

Gavin could be seen laying down on his bed with his headset on and his eyes closed.
He was listening to music, trying to cool down his temper..
His door suddenly opened and Kimberly and Charlotte peeped in. He looked at them and sighed before closing back his eyes…
“If mom and sad sent you two to persuade me then just forget about it. I ain’t changing my mind” Gavin said.
Kimberly and Charlotte walked in fully. They walked to him and then sat down at both edges of the bed staring at him.
“C’mon, don’t be like that. We aren’t traitors yunno” Kimberly said making Gavin sit up…
“Yeah, we know you and Iris are together now even though she hasn’t told us but we know. We can’t betray Iris like that…” Charlotte said.
Gavin looked at them and sighed then looked down.
“I just h@të it when people control my life like I was a piece of pawn. Why can’t mom and dad try and see reasons with me. I’ve been trying to explain things to them for two good years but nothing changed…” Gavin said sadly.
“Don’t worry about that. The journey will be bumpy and risky but they’ll eventually see reasons.” Kimberly rubbed his back, placing her head on his shoulder.
“Yeah I’ll try and convince Emery and my father on my side. What you should instead worry about is Iris and how she’s gonna take the news of you been betrothed.” Charlotte said.
“Yeah, I tried telling her today but I couldn’t. She confessed her feelings for me today and I just couldn’t ruin the moment” Gavin said.
“Awn that’s so romantic…” Kimberly and Charlotte gushed.
Gavin chuckled and shook his head.
“You two are unbelievable. I’m sad here and that’s what you have to say” Gavin smiled.

THE BAXTER VILL@
Emery could be seen sitting by the stairs, staring at the stars with sad eyes.
For the first time, her heart leaped for a guy. No one has ever moved her like how Gavin did today. Love at first sight we’ll say…
At first she wasn’t happy with the idea of her marrying a total stranger but when she set her eyes on Gavin, her heart leaped for joy but all these had to happen.
Who’s this Iris? What did she do for Gavin to love and choose her over everything else?
Those questions kept ringing in her brain. Emery sighed and slowly bent her head down letting her tears out…
“Young Mistress?” One of the guards called when he noticed her sitting by herself.
Emery lifted up her face to look at him and the guard gasped when he saw she was in tears.
“Miss? What’s wrong? Who made you cry?” The guard asked angrily, his blood was already boiling…
Emery shook her head and cleaned her tears.
“Nothing, just heartbreak. What teenage usually go through” She smiled.
“Who Miss?” The guard asked curiously.
Emery sighed and began pouring out all her thoughts to the guard. Maybe talking to someone was what she needed at the moment.
“Oh sorry young Mistress” He said.
“No big deal, I’ll be heading to my room now. Goodnight” Emery forced a smile and stood up then left.
The guards face immediately crumpled to that of anger. He folded his fists angrily.
“No one makes the heir of the Baxter clan cry and go scott free. Iris Williams” He muttered angrily…

MORNING, THE WILLIAMS**
Iris walked out of her room with a towel tied round her body with her wet hair packed in a bun. She brought out her body cream and made to apply it when her phone began ringing.
She smiled when she saw it was video call from Gavin. Without thinking she picked up, his smiling face immediately came to view.
“Good morning babe” Iris smiled and waved at him.
“Morning my queen” Gavin smiled. He was already in his school uniform and was heading downstairs.
“Why call so early when we’ll meet in some minutes.” Iris said
“Couldn’t help it, missed this pretty face of yours. Looks like you’re just from bathing… Love those fresh skin” Gavin smirked.
“Pervert…” Iris rolled her eyes making Gavin to chuckle.
“Will come pick you up in few minutes okay?” Gavin said.
“Okay babe. Have to dress up now” Iris said.
“You can dress up, I don’t mind seeing those B@@bs and @$$” Gavin smirked.
“You’re sick in the brain” Iris immediately hung up.
That made Gavin laugh really hard. He stared at his phone and smiled before going to the dining room.

Valentina smiled when she finished dressing up for work. She looked out of her window and smiled when she saw how the snow flakes fell..
She picked up her handbag with her thick blouse before walking out of her room, heading downstairs.
“Good morning mom” Valentina pecked her cheek before sitting down.
“Morning my baby” Peggy smiled.
Valentina looked at Iris who was busy eating with her food. Valentina smiled and served her meal.
“Mom, Ricardo and I will be traveling to Canada next week in order to spend the Christmas and new year festivities there. Hope it’s okay by you” Valentina asked.
“Of course. You’re an adult and he’s your boyfriend so I’m okay besides I trust Ricardo” Peggy smiled.
“Thanks mom” Valentina smiled and began eating.
Iris and Valentina finished eating and stood up. They wore their thick blouses and then bade their mother goodbye before leaving.
They were surprised to see Ricardo and Gavin outside, waiting for them.
“Looks like your baby came to pick you up. How cute” Iris gushed.
“Talking about yours…” Valentina gestured and Gavin.
Valentina and Iris chuckled and walked to Ricardo. She waved at Gavin who smiled politely.
“Morning babe” Valentina hugged Ricardo.
“Morning my cute pie, what’s the president’s son doing here?” Ricardo smiled.
“Oh well he’s dating my sister” Valentina smiled.
“Wow, your sister is dating the president’s son and you are dating the CEO of one of the most successful company in the country. Your family is blessed.” Ricardo chuckled
“Like you guys aren’t blessed too. Dating me isn’t easy” Valentina smirked.
Ricardo chuckled…
“I agree” He smiled.
They both enter the car before the driver drove off.
“You refused to show me the promised land” Gavin pouted, referring to earlier.
“Exactly, when the time comes you’ll get there but for now…” Iris shook her head and entered the car.
Gavin smiled and entered too.
“Can I get a kiss instead?” Gavin pouted his lips.
Iris leaned closer but instead of kissing his lips, she kissed his nose. Gavin frowned and looked at her.
“Wha?… You asked me to kiss you, you didn’t precise where” Iris smirked.
“Oh really?” Gavin removed his seatbelt and pulled her to him.
He made her seat on his thigh and then kissed her. Iris chuckled as she kissed him back too. Luckily the windows were tinted.

LATER, TWILIGHT HIGH**
“Finally! Classes are over” Kimberly exclaimed.
“Today was kinda fast” Iris said wearing her blouse properly.
Gavin walked to them with a kinda annoyed look on his face.
“Hey girls” He said.
“Hi Gavin” Riley waved at him…
“Uhm babe, I’m sorry but I won’t be able to escort you home. This d_1ckhead called Josh got himself in trouble and I have to bail him out of the police station” Gavin said.
“Classic Josh, always so hard headed. Wonder when hell change” Kimberly sighed.
“Who knows maybe he now fought with a cop” Riley chuckled.
“Sure you can go. Just call me when you are done” Iris smiled.
Gavin nodded and pecked her lips not minding the crowd. He waved at her before leaving.
He took four steps before stopping and looking back at Iris. He doesn’t know why but he keeps getting a bad premonition, like he should stay with her…
Iris waved and smiled assuredly at him. He smiled to before leaving.
“Awn love is sweet when you’re with the right person” Riley gushed.
“I’m off, before you start bugging me.. Bye girls” Iris waved and left for work..

NIGHTSHINE CLUB**
The club was unusually rowdy today. Maybe because a guy booked the club for his birthday party.
“Here’s your drink sir” Iris smiled.
The customer took it and smiled at her flirtatiously.
“Can I get your number pretty?” He smiled.
Iris frowned and made to reply to him.
“Bug off… She’s taken by my friend” A voice said.
Iris turned to see it was Luca. The guy frowned and walked away quietly.
“Luca” Iris smiled.
“How you doing” Luca sat down on the chair in front of the counter.
“You got invited to the party?” Iris asked.
“Yeah though I’m kinda bored. Good thing you work here, I’ll be less bored” Luca smiled.
Iris chuckled and they began discussing. She served those whom she was sipposed to serve and they resumed their discussion till it was time for her to leave.
“It’s already dark.. Come I’ll walk you home” Luca smiled.
“Thanks” Iris smiled and they walked away, heading to Iris’s house.
He doesn’t know why but Luca kept having this feeling like they were been followed…
He stylishly looked back but saw no one. He simply shrugged and continued walking.
“So Iris tell me, what will you do if you find out that Gavin is like.. Programmed for another” Luca said.
“Huh? What do you mean?” Iris asked.
“Like what will you do if…” Luca paused when he saw something shine at the corner of his eyes and what followed was a loud gunshot.
“Iris careful!!” Without thinking, he pulled Iris and hugged her.
Iris blocked her ears at the sound of gunshot. She felt Luca’s arm slowly releasing her.
She looked up and was completely shocked when she saw blood coming out of Luca’s mouth.
Luca smiled weakly and cupped her cheek before falling on the ground. His blood slowly stained the ground.
Iris just stared at it for some while, all these happened in a rush that her brain was still traumatized.
“Luca!!!!!!!”

“Luca!!!!!” Iris screamed her lungs out.
She quickly bent down beside him, checking him out in pure shock.
“Luca, wake up! No…please wake up!! Luca!!” Iris cried her eyes out, shaking his body. Her dress got stained with his blood in the process.
She placed her head on his chest and his heart was still beating but faintly. Iris quickly brought out her phone and called the first number she saw in her contact list…

THE BAXTER’S VILL@
“So that’s how we solve an equation using the method of completing the square” Charlotte smiled.
“Wow, I’m so glad I have a smart sister” Emery smiled.
Charlotte smiled back too. Her phone suddenly began ringing… She furrowed her brows, wondering why Iris is calling her at this time of the night…
“Iris? What’s wrong??” Charlotte asked, closing her book.
“Charl,, it’s Luca. We were going back when suddenly we heard a gunshot… I think he got shot…!!” Iris cried.
“What?!” Charlotte exclaimed, standing up in the process.
“Just stay where you are. I’m coming..” Charlotte said and hung up. She picked up her coat and rushed out of her room..
“What’s wrong?” Emery asked, following her.
“My friend got shot” Charlotte replied…
“What?! I’m coming!!” Emery said, following behind her…

Iris kept tapping Luca’s cheek, checking his pulse. She looked around but could see no one, no one was there to help her.
She then looked up and sniffed, the snow was falling much tonight. Iris looked at Luca in tears, she removed her jacket and then covered him with it.
“Help is coming… Just hang in there please” Iris cried, looking at Luca’s face was already pale due to the cold.

Valentina walked out of the company while hugging Ricardo’s arm.
She looked up and the snow was really falling heavily tonight.
“So where should we go next?” Valentina asked
“How about I invite you to a dinner. My treat…” Ricardo said.
“Alright love” Valentina smiled.
He opened the car door for her to enter. He entered afterwards…
“To Mella’s restaurant” Ricardo ordered to the driver who nodded and began driving to the prescribed direction.
“I used to work there before being your secretary. Been long I’ve been there” Valentina smiled.
“Really? Who would have thought that you’ll end up sitting here, right next to me, holding my hand” Ricardo smiled and kissed her forehead.
“Sweet coincidence” Valentina smiled.

“Next time you get yourself into a fight, don’t count on me” Gavin said.
“Come on,,, what are bros for?” Josh hung his hand round his shoulder.
Gavin looked at him and rolled his eyes. His phone suddenly began ringing. Without looking at the caller’s ID he picked up.
“Hello?”
“Bro, things are getting messier” Maxwell said.
“What? Any worried” He said, walking to his car with Josh.
“Luca got shot while protecting Iris so we had to rush him to the hospital” Maxwell said, looking at Iris who was been comforted by Charlotte and Kimberly.
“What? Which hospital are you?” Gavin asked entering his car immediately.
“Rita Cares” Maxwell said.
“Okay will be there in a jiffy” Gavin said and hung up.
“What’s wrong?” Josh asked, entering the car too.
“Luca got shot” Gavin simply said.
He ignited the engine and drove off at a furious speed.

RITA CARES**
“I already told Gavin about it. He’s on his way here” Maxwell said, coming to the girls.
“Thanks” Kimberly said and looked at Iris. She had stopped crying but she still looked lost.
She really feel bad right now. If Luca hadn’t protected her, then he would be safe right now. He took the short for her and that’s really making her feel guilty.
Emery on the other hand was just staring at Iris while sitting at her own corner.
“So this the girl called Iris” She wondered, looking at her.
It just fascinates her how everyone is hellbent in protecting her. First was Gavin who defy his parents coz of her and now is Luca who took a shot coz of her. Is she a goddess or what?
“But what really happened…Iris” Maxwell asked, sitting beside Emery.
“I don’t know. Luca asked to walk me home when I was through with my work. On our way home, we suddenly heard a loud gunshot. It all happened so fast, Luca shielded me with his body and then he received the shot…” Iris said sadly…
Charlotte sighed when she finished hearing the story. Deep down within her, she knows that Luca still has some feelings for Iris even if he decided to let her go…
She looked at her left and saw Riley sitting at a far end with her head bent down. It was obvious that she was crying her eyes out…
“Iris!!” Gavin called when he got to them. He was breathing heavily with Josh behind him…
“Gavin…” Emery muttered when she saw him.
“Babe…” Iris exclaimed and stood up then rushed to him, hugging him tightly.
Gavin engulfed her in his arms, stroking her hair securely. They broke the hug and he checked her out before releasing a sigh of relief.
“Thank goodness you’re safe” Gavin sighed and hugged her back.
“I’m so scared for Luca” Iris muttered sadly.
“Let’s hold on tight to hope” Gavin said and broke the hug. He removed his coat and then covered her it..
Emery just stared at them with sad eyes. She slowly looked away from them.
Gavin helped her wear it and then kissed her forehead. He looked back at his friends and that’s when he noticed Emery was here.
He looked back at Iris and then held her hand. They walked to their friends…
“How’s he?” Gavin asked.
“We don’t know. He’s still in the ER…” Kimberly said.
“I’ll inform his parents about this. They need to know” Gavin said. He released Iris’s hands and then walked away to make a call, Iris followed him…
Not too long after, the doctor came out of the ER. Maxwell, Josh, Karl, Kimberly, Riley and Charlotte all rushed to him.
“How’s he?” Kimberly asked.
“Will he be okay?” Riley asked with red puffy eyes.
“Well that’s not something we can be sure of. He got shot at the spinal cord and as a result, he lost so much blood. The bullet was successfully extracted from his body but he is in a coma. Right now he’s currently undergoing a blood transfusion.” The doctor said…
The rest sighed feeling slightly relieved…
“Let’s just hope he will be better after this” Charlotte sighed.

“Okay ma’am” Gavin said and hung up then looked at Iris
“Luca’s father is out of country but his mom will be here in few minutes” Gavin said.
Iris nodded slowly. Gavin looked back at Emery and then at Iris. He sighed and held her hand.
“Iris, this isn’t the right moment to tell you this but sooner or later you’ll find out and I dont want you finding it out from another person” Gavin sighed.
“You see that girl over there? Her name is Emery and she’s… My fiance” Gavin said.
“Fi…fiancé?” Iris stuttered, completely shocked.
Gavin nodded and told her everything. He came clean with her, not leaving out a single detail…
“Now I feel bad..” Iris said sadly.
“You don’t have to be” Gavin said.
“No, she’s your wife to be and her I am dating you. I feel like I’m the bad person here” Iris said.
Gavin cupped her cheek and made her look at him.
“Listen to me… Do you love me?” Gavin asked.
Iris nodded fighting back her tears..
“Then that’s enough for me to know who I want to be with. I want to be with you and if there’s any girl I see my future in, that girl is you. I will find a way to break this engagement sooner or later okay?” Gavin said and hugged her.
“I have this bad feeling” Iris said sadly.
“I love you and only you. No one will take your place, no one” Gavin said lowly.
He broke the hug and cupped her cheeks. Iris stared at him and then at his lips. She wrapped her arms round his neck and stood on her toes before kissing him.
They broke the kiss and then walked back to the others. Iris was now staring at Emery, so was Emery…
“What did the doctor say?” Gavin asked and Maxwell told him.
“Okay, I think we should all go home now. We all have family and I’m sure they’re worried sick about us” Karl said.
“Yeah, I called Luca’s mother and she’ll be here in some seconds. Speaking of her…” Gavin gestured at a woman who was running to them.
“Where’s my son” She asked, from the look on her face one will know that she cried
“He’s been transferred to his ward” The doctor but in.
Luca’s mom walked to the doctor and began asking for details.
“Let me take you home” Gavin said and held Iris’s hand. She looked at him and then nodded.
Gavin looked at Luca’s mom and sighed before leaving, same as the others…

Throughout the ride back home, Emery’s mind has been off. She kept thinking of her discussion with the guard and how he reacted. Could it be him who shot the guy called Luca?
“Emery?” Charlotte called, bringing her to reality. She looked at Charlotte.
“Anything wrong?” Charlotte asked.
Emery shook her head negatively…
They got home and the driver opened the door for them to come down. As if her mind was been read, her eyes caught the guard as he was walking by the corridor.
“I’ll join you later” Emery said and ran to the guard.
“Hey!” Emery called.
The guard stopped and bowed to her as a sign of respect.
“You are the one who shot the boy with Iris right,” Emery asked.
The guard looked down feeling so nervous and scared.
“I’m sorry Mistress. I only meant to wound the girl but I didn’t know it will take the boy with her. I didn’t mean to kill him” The guard threw himself down to his knees.
“Really?” A voice said.
When the guard heard the voice, he already knew he was doomed
Mr Baxter came up in view with a cold look on his face. Charlotte earlier told him what happened with Luca and on passing by, he heard this.
“Emery, go to your room please. I have something to do now” Mr Baxter said without looking at her.
Emery slowly nodded and turned then began walking away. She turned back and looked at the guard who was pleading with his eyes. She sighed and slowly left…
Mr Baxter slowly walked to the guard. He crouched down in front of him and grabbed him by the neck.
“Do you know that gravity of what you did now? Not only is that boy the son of a friend of mine but the boy is a friend of my Charlotte, my precious baby. You made one of my baby sad and worried.” Mr Baxter said with an expressionless look on his face.
“I…I’m sorry boss. Our heir was sad because of that girl called Iris and I wanted to make that girl pay” The guard said despite the fact that he was been choked.
Mr Baxter smiled shortly and then frowned deeply.
“And who gave you the mission to make her pay” He asked.
“I…I…no one” He said.
“You know that price to pay right. Rule No 5, Each and every member of the Baxter clan obeys only to the leader and no one else and rule No 8, we shoot only to protect ourselves” Mr Baxter said.
“I’m sorry…boss, sir…please…”
A guard walked to them with a gun at hand. Mr Baxter released him and stood up.
“Make sure you dispose off his body when you’re through” He said and began leaving.
“Please…boss…”
What then followed was a gunshot behind him which he didn’t even bother to look back.

MORNING, THE WILLIAMS**
“What!! Luca got shot?!” Valentina exclaimed.
They were actually having their breakfast in family.
“Yeah, he took the bullet for me” Iris muttered sadly.
“What?! Why was the shooter aiming at you” Peggy asked worriedly.
Iris shrugged, indicating that she didn’t know why. She continued eating her meal but her mind wasn’t at rest.
The thought of Gavin betrothed to another disturbed her more than she thought. Coupled with the fact that Luca hasn’t yet woken up…
“I’m through with my meal. Mom, Tina… I’ll be leaving for school” Iris said, standing up.
Valentina and Peggy looked at each other before looking at her.
“Okay, be careful” Valentina said.
Iris nodded and then walked out of the house with her backpack hanging on a shoulder.
She wore the cap of her hoodie and then dipped her hands in her pocket before walking away…

RITA CARES**
“I won’t take long…” Riley said to her driver before running in the hospital.
Last night she couldn’t sleep a wink due to how worried she was so she decided to drop by before heading to school.
“Excuse me miss, can I know the room number of Luca Johnston?” Riley asked.
“Sure! It’s room 486, VIP” The nurse read out from the book she had.
“Thanks” Riley bowed politely and rushed to the prescribed direction.
She stopped infront of the room and then peeped in through the window. She saw no one.
“Maybe his mom went back home to get something” Riley thought before turning the door knob and entering.
She stopped on her track when she saw Luca lying on the bed helplessly as the machine beeped slowly with tubes connected on him.
Riley wiped off her tears as she slowly walked then sat down next to him on the stool nearby. She sniffed, trying to fight back her tears.
“I don’t like seeing you this way Luca… Please wake up, all I want is to see you smile…even if I’m not the reason for your smile..please, you have no right to give up” Riley cried and held his hand then kissed the back of his hand.
“I wish I was the one who was there instead of you, I don’t know how I’ll take it if you live me… I love you” Riley cried.
“I just don’t have the courage to tell you that. After all the bad things I’ve done to you and the others, I don’t have the courage to express my feelings for you… I can’t” Riley said lowly.
She brought out something from her pocket, it was a bracelet with a little heart shape on it.
“Here, for you. Before dying my grandpa said I should offer this to my first love…” Riley said, wearing the bracelet on his wrist before kissing it.
She leaned closer to him and then kissed his forehead before slowly placing a soft kiss on his lips…
Charlotte who was watching them from the door slowly closed the door and backed it…
She placed her hand on her chest, closing her eyes..
“Why I’m I not sad..? It doesn’t hurt” She wondered.
Slowly, she let out a smile…
“I did it. I’ve finally gotten over you” She smiled.
She looked at them through the window and smiled.
“I hope she’s the one for you. You two look good together” Charlotte muttered.
She smiled before leaving the area…

“Mummy!!” Minnie exclaimed and rushed to Valentina’s office.
“My baby, how was school?” Valentina played with her hairs.
“It was cool. We learned lot of cool things…” Minnie smiled.
“Mummy?” Myles smiled walking to her with his hands in his pocket.
“Champion, come here.” Valentina said and hugged him then carries him and placed him on her thigh.
“You’re so cold…” Valentina said, touching his tiny hands.
“It’s because I have a low tolerance to cold. The doctor said that only one thing can help me” Myles said.
“What?” Valentina asked.
“A mummy’s hug and kiss” Myles smiled.
“Awn…you’re so cute. Come here” Valentina gushed and hugged him then kissed him on the forehead and on both cheek.
“That’s not fair… I want hugs and kisses too, Myles get down!” Minnie pouted and began pulling Myles leg, trying to pull him down Valentina’s thigh.
“Hey let go!! You spend more time with mummy than me. Have you ever seen me complain?” Myles said, holding Valentina’s neck.
“No… Get down!!” Minnie said
“In your dreams. Go see daddy” Myles stuck out his tongue.
Minnie continued pulling Myles leg while they kept ranting on and on…
“You guys are choking me…” Valentina said.
“It’s a pleasure doing business with you” Ricardo said, escorting his guest out of his office.
“The pleasure is all mine” His client smiled
They paused when they heard noises coming from Valentina’s office. Ricardo looked only to see Minnie and Myles fighting over Valentina.
“I see your family needs you” The client chuckled.
Ricardo sighed and nodded with a smile. His client nodded and then left. Ricardo turned to them before walking up to them
“Time out! Time out! Time out!” Ricardo said, carrying Myles and placing him down.
“Stop fighting over Valentina coz she’s mine” Ricardo said and pecked Valentina on the lips.
“Ewww!!!” The kids chorused.
“When you two want to do that, warn so that we turn away” Myles frowned.
“I’m sure they’ll start acting all cute and sweet” Minnie said.
“Yeah, so boring. Come let’s go get ourselves some drinks” Myles said.
“Yay!!” Minnie exclaimed and they rushed off.
“Kids and attitude” Valentina laughed.
“I don’t understand them. On minute they’re enemies and the next they’re best friends” Ricardo said.
They looked at each other suddenly began laughing…

“Can’t believe I failed the math quiz” Kimberly whined.
“You just have to work harder, no big deal..” Riley said.
“As for me, I had it all” Iris smiled.
“Brainy” Kimberly said.
“Hey look, that’s Xander or Cancer wh@tëver his name is” Charlotte said.
They loiked front and truly Xander was there. He was removing some books from his locker with an unfriendly look on his face.
“Looks like he got discharged from the hospital” Kimberly said.
He began walking their way and abruptly stopped infront of Iris, glaring at her. Iris stood her ground and glared back at him.
“Because of you, I had a fracture. I’ll get back at you and Gavin, I promise… Starting from you” Xander spatted.
“I wanna see you try that. Bîtch…” Iris said.
Xander looked at her for a while and smiled before walking away.
“Have a nice day butterfly” He said while leaving.
“This guy… I h@të him so much!!!” Kimberly screamed.
“Kim?” Maxwell called, coming to her.
“Talking about guys that I h@të…” Kimberly rolled her eyes.
“I wanna show you something, please come with me” Maxwell smiled.
Kimberly rolled her eyes and crossed her hand.
“I don’t wanna see what you have to show me, just buzz off!” Kimberly snorted.
Maxwell sighed and rolled his eyes.
“Must you always be this stubborn, just come. This once” Maxwell frowned
“I thought I made it clear that I…”
Before she could finish her statement, Maxwell heaped her on his shoulder and began walking away.
“Let me go!! Let go!!” Kimberly kept swinging her leg, hitting his back.
Iris and the rest laughed their àss out as they watched the scene.
Maxwell walked to the school garden, not caring about the stares they received. He finally dropped her beside a bench.
“Are you crazy?? How dare you take me away against my will… That’s kidnapping!!” Kimberly yelled
“Okay, I’m sorry. Now please sit” Maxwell said, sitting down on the bench.
Kimberly glared at him before sitting down, folding her arms.
Maxwell opened his cross bag and then brought out a wrapped up gift before stretching his hand to Kimberly.
Kimberly looked at it before she slowly collected the gift. She tore the wrapper off and then gasped at what she saw.
It was a music box which her father offered her on her 6th anniversary. Sadly, Maxwell took it and broke it in front of her. She had cried day alot while Maxwell was busy laughing at her.
“Here, I got it fixed back. It’s not the only thing in the box” Maxwell smiled…
She brought out a hairpin from the box. It was a gift from her grandmother which Maxwell seized and refused to give her back.
“Let me fix it for you” Maxwell took it and leaned closer to her then began fixing the pin in her hair.
“All done” He smiled and looked at her. Their face were just inches apart and he couldn’t help but stare at her cute face, his gaze landed on her red lips. Kimberly wasn’t spared from staring at him…
“Uhm sorry” Maxwell said, giving her some space before he’ll do something that will earn him a slap.
“That’s not all.” Maxwell said and brought out something.
He held her hand then slid in a set of bangles in her left arm…
“That’s my gift for you..” Maxwell smiled.
Kimberly stared at it and then smiled.
“Thanks”
“Oh less I forgot, I had my name imprinted in those bangles….so that you’ll not miss me too much when we’re not together.”
“Corky! You’ll never change!!” Kimberly hit his head making him chuckle…
“If I don’t tease and pester you. Who’ll do it?” Maxwell smirked and wiggled his brows before flicking his finger on her forehead.
“Ouch…just you wait” Kimberly stood and began looking for something to shoot him.
Maxwell scurried away while laughing. Kimberly stopped and watched him leaving.
She stared at her wrist and looked back at him with a smile…
“Not bad for a jerk like you”
