^^ RACE TRACK ^^
As soon as Lucy fell, losing conciousness.
Andrew ran down, heading to the race track while her friends followed suit.
Other students were screaming in jubilation since Lucy made it to the finish line before fainting.
“Lucy” Andrew called worriedly, holding onto her.
“There’s an Infirmary nearby, let’s take her there” William told him.
“She’s lost a lot of blood” Mary gasp as they watch Andrew carry her off.
“They might need some donors, let’s go” Bonnie urge.
Everyone went after them.

^^ INFIRMARY ^^
Lucy woke up to find herself in an unfamiliar room.
Where is she…she thought as she saw a lady beside her.
“You are up?” The lady said.
” What happen?” Lucy asked.
“After the race, you were brought here with an injured foot. Luckily you were brought here on time” the nurse inform.
“And before I forget, your friends are waiting for you outside, should I let them in?”
Lucy gave a nod and the nurse left to do her bidding.
Lucy sat up, waiting for her friends to come in but she was surprise to see Andrew coming in alone.
She watch him walk towards her and pulled her into his arms.
A dumbfounded Lucy stayed still while he tightened his hold on her.
“No more deals, okay” he said against her head and slowly pulled back to stare at her.
“How are you?”
“Fine though I still feel hurt” she replied, gazing at him.
“The pain will wear off soon. You just need to get some rest” he added, pushing a bit of hair from her face.
“So, did I win?”
His smile said it all…Lucy thought inwardly.
But it won’t have been possible without Alex help.
“Do you know where Alex is?” She asked as a scowl appeared on Andrew ‘s face.
“Why are you looking for him?”
Lucy had no choice but to tell him everything.
“Well, he’s at the other room. I was wondering why he didn’t win the race and it’s because, he was helping you”
“Which is why I need thank him. Can you take me to his room?” Lucy asked.
“The doctor said you shouldn’t strain your feet”
“Really? Can’t we just get a wheel chair or something?” Lucy asked.
“Fine then, if you insist on speaking to Alex, I will help you” Andrew reply.
Moving towards her, he lifted her into his arms, ignoring her protest.
“I can you use the wheelchair, you know” she said as he walk her out.
“Not while am here” he replied firmly.
Alex was having a rest when they arrive.
“Hope I didn’t bother you”
“You didn’t. I was planning to visit you after getting the drip” Alex replied, totally ignoring Andrew presence.
His eyes alight with pleasure just for Lucy alone.
“I didn’t get a chance to thank you properly”
“It’s okay. I didn’t do it for you to thank me, am glad you won”
“It should have been you”
“Nah, I will just take a break this year and perhaps, I will get my trophy back next year” Alex joke lightly.
“You’ve been standing for too long, it’s time we head back” Andrew said gruffly, reminding the two that he’s still in the room.
“Will you be coming to the after party tonight?” Alex asked.
“I didn’t know there’s an after party but I…”
“Lucy needs to take care of her injury. So she’s not going” Andrew answered for her.
He carried her once again, ignoring her protest and set off to her room.
“I can walk Andrew, you don’t have to treat me like a child” she said, the moment they got back to her room.
“Until your feet gets better, I will do more than that” he replied, putting her down on the bed.
Lucy got to her feet and limp around, grinding her teeth to hold in the pain.
She turn to him, wearing a smile and said.
“See! I can walk just fine”
She turned her back to him wanting to limp towards the bed but then, she felt him behind her.
He wrap his arms around her waist and buried his face against her neck.
“Seeing you back to your usual self. I feel at ease, you have no idea how worried I was when you fainted earlier”
Lucy pull away from him, putting a little distance between them.
“Am sorry I worried you. I…”
“Shhh…” He put a finger on her lips and with his other arm, he lift her back on the bed.
“You did it because of me and I won’t deny that I felt a bit happy but then, if things get hard for you, just think about your safety, I only want you to be safe” he said, starring at her lips.
“Okay” Lucy replied, feeling a bit uneasy.
Her goal was for Andrew to fall for her and right now, she felt that he felt something but then she felt nothing for him.
“Andrew I…” He cut her off when he held both her cheeks.
Her widen in shock when she saw him moving towards her.
Is he going to kiss her…she thought inwardly.
His lips was close to hers when the door open and their friends came in.
They quickly pulled away from each other.
“Are you okay sweetheart?” Mary asked as she gave her a hug.
“Does your leg still hurts?” Bonnie asked.
“Do you want some sweets?” Steve added.
“I suggest you eat this burger. I can assure you that it’s going to strengthen your bones”
“I think what she needs is a breathing space from you all. Let her breathe!” Donovan said, while shooing them away from Lucy.
“By the way thanks to our beauty here, we’ve finally won the marathon crown for the first time” Donovan said as they all cheered her on.
Andrew stood against the wall, watching them fussing over her and unknowingly a smile brighten his face.
But it soon vanish when he got a text from William.
“Guys, I need to leave but I promise to be back as soon as I can” He said and surprisingly, he gave Lucy a kiss on the forehead before leaving the room.
“It’s not what you guys think” Lucy said when she the look on their face.
“Really? It’s not what we think?” Mary asked in disbelief.
“Like a kiss on the forehead is nothing” Donovan added gently.
“Back in the days, a kiss on the forehead meant a lot” Francis said.
“Like marriage for example ”
“Or dating” Steve added to Bonnie’s example.
“There’s nothing going on between Andrew and I ” Lucy said trying to correct them but they were all hopeless.

<< HOSPITAL >>
“How is my brother?” Andrew asked William as soon as he got to his brother ward.
“Stable” William replied.
“Stable? But you said he was in danger and that I should hurry over. Come to think of it, my parents aren’t here. You didn’t call them?” Andrew asked trying to steady his heavy breathing since he has been running.
“I lied to you” William said.
“What? ”
“I lied about your brother being critical” William admit.
“B…but why?”
“I needed to talk to you. For the past seven hours, you’ve been by Lucy’s side without even thinking of your brother” William accuse.
“That’s unfair. Ever since the accident, you know how much have been doing….”
“That’s exactly my point. You’ve been doing everything for your brother sake but then Lucy shows up and you change”
“So what? Do I have to ignore Lucy too? Do I have to let go of my happiness once again?” Andrew asked.
“You know I don’t mean it that way. Remember the promise you made to your brother. What do you think will happen once your parent know about your feelings?”
“They don’t have to. We will keep it a secret and I won’t back out on the promise I made but don’t expect my mind to change about Lucy” Andrew stated and turn to leave.
“Won’t you stay with your brother today?”
“I can’t. I need to be with Lucy, there will be an after party tonight, you should come too” Andrew said and left the room.

As soon as Donovan and Francis left. Steve, Bonnie and Mary gathered around Lucy.
“So tell us. Has Andrew taken the bait?” Mary asked.
“Is he hopelessly in love with you?” Steve added.
” Say something ” Bonnie urge.
“Am not really sure but then…we almost kissed earlier” Lucy confess.
“That’s it. He has eaten the bait” Mary said.
“Congrats sis, you got what you want” Steve inject.
“If Andrew has fallen for you, shouldn’t you be happy? It’s what you want, right?” Bonnie asked.
“You are right. Making Andrew fall for me have been my goal all along but now that he has…it doesn’t feel right”
“Don’t tell me you are having a change of heart ?” Mary half yelled.
“I feel guilty. I lied to him by pretending to be in love with him, I made him fall for me when I like William. It doesn’t make me feel good”
“What do you intend to do now?” Bonnie asked.
“I want to tell him the truth” Lucy said slowly…..
