CHAPTER EIGHT: THE SECOND DAY ( THANATOS REQUEST )
Thanatos frown upon hearing few of the rumors, Chloe being a princess doesn’t mean much to them, they don’t even respect her, speaking Ill of her to this level?
” I heard she slept with lord Thanatos”
” She truly is shameless, isn’t she?”
” What do you expect from someone that kills people?”
” Kills?” One of the maid gasp, I watch them, spreading the clothes and giggling ” all I heard is that she sleeps around ”
” And guess what, it all begin with lord xilber ”
” You mean the king of east?”
” Yes, it is rumored he just used her for one of his night pleasures, to kill time ” the maids lean close ” he is to arrive in this kingdom tomorrow, according to king Gerald wish ”
” How will princess Chloe react?”
” I doubt she will be ashamed” they all chuckle and I frown, why am I suddenly bothered about this words? First Chloe admission about Freya getting old shocked me and now this? How horrible is her reputation?
Turning around, I walk towards the king study room, thoughts flood in my head, why will he permit such people to badmouth his daughter? Why will he let all these happen?
From all I have seen, Chloe is treated differently, worse than a maid, horrible to a point I can’t even begin to imagine ” lord Thanatos” Gerald mumble the moment I step in and shut the door.
” King Gerald”
” It’s quite surprising for you to pay me a visit without any word from me” I nod and sit down, my eyes fix on his.
” They is something I find disturbing”
” Disturbing?”
I nod ” to the point that sleep eludes me at night ”
He breath out ” could this be about Chloe?”
” Indeed ”
” I believe you regret spending night with her then ” I watch him closely after what he said, all pieces coming together, he knew I will he passing that route back to my chamber, he planted those maids there to say those words for my ear alone.
He wants me to pick Freya and no one else
” I will like to know why you keep such disrespectful maids around, Chloe is a princess ” I look at him ” I believe she should be treated with respect ”
” Thanatos, respect are given to those that deserves it ” Gerald relax on his chair ” Chloe is not someone I view as my daughter, she is even worse than a maid ”
” Hmmm”
” Chloe killed her fiance ” he state the fact ” if only he knew how dangerous she was, he would have stayed away ”
“This has nothing to do with the respect a princess deserves ” I frown ” Chloe doesn’t even have a single bodyguard”
” Who will guard her? They will obviously lose their life ”
” So tell me ” I stand to my feet ” why haven’t you killed her?” I read the look in his eyes, he must have tried but something stopped him ” I think I have got all what I need ” getting up, I walk out of his study room, why do I even feel offended for her? She should face wh@tëver it is, that is her problem.
I stopped walking when I spot her standing, her gaze at the maids spreading the clothes, she must have been headed to my quarters, I expected to see her angry but from the look of things, she is smiling.
” Don’t you think that rumor is a bit twisted?” She mumble and the maids quickly lower their heads.
” Your highness”
” I will appreciate if you spread accurate rumors, I didn’t beg lord xilber for a night, it was the other way round ” she hiss ” if you want to be a gossiper be good at it ”
” Yes your highness ”
I watch her leave and I couldn’t help but to smile, what kind of person is she? She should have atleast tried to clear her name, acting like she don’t care doesn’t help.
What a weird lady.
Walking back to my chamber, I open the door to find her going through my closet ” what are you doing?” I ask, shutting the door and moving closer to her direction
” We are going out”
” Huh?”
” The sun already went to sleep ” she give me a look, like am the clueless one ” to see the night flies ”
” Night flies?” I frown and she nod, turning to my direction fully, I watch how excited she is.
” They are really beautiful at night ”
” Why would I wish to go out with someone rumored to be a harlot?” I furrow my brows and she bite her lower lip, not saying anything ” won’t you try convincing me?”
She furrow her brows ” why? You will believe wh@tëver you want to ”
” Hmmm”
” I know you don’t fancy me and have nothing to gain from marrying me but you have to know ” she step closer ” if you don’t choose me, I will expose you ”
” No one will believe you ” I lean close ” no one will trust a word coming out of the murderer princess ” silence engulf us, she pout her lips, knowing she has nothing else to say.
” If you don’t marry me I will hunt you down ” she step closer and I step back ” I will R@PE you ” her eyes, she look really honest ” you see this body you are keeping, I will make it unholy, I will make you move in and out of me repeatedly ”
” You don’t mean it ” I move backwards, ten steps away from her which made her grin.
” If you don’t want that ” she move closer and hold my hand ” let’s go out, to see night flies ” her eyes light up and I flinch, for the first time in my life I flinch.
Wh@tëver excited her might really be scary.
Chloe sit on the horse, wrap her hands around his body ” do you really need to do that?” He object, just like always but that didn’t stop me, I tighten my hold around him.
” I don’t want to fall ” I mumble, resting my head on his back, I move my hands around his stomach, feeling his heavenly build up, how do I know it’s heavenly? Obviously because he is an angel.
” Chloe ” his voice has a hint of warning in them but he didn’t stop the horse either, we leave the palace and I finally got to see the outside, how people are free, with Thanatos I can go everywhere without anyone dying ” where exactly is this night fly?”
“Deep in the forest ” I reply, pointing straight ahead, he did just that, ride into the forest and I look around, how the trees move silently, within them,. Am Sure they do sing and talk to one another.
Just my silly assumption ” stop here ” he did just that, the moment he tied the horse, I hold his hand and drag him with me….we walked until we are close to a river and right there, fire files are everywhere.
He scoffed ” you call Firefly, night fly?” I nod and look at him.
” They do come out at night, don’t they?” I watch how he exhale, like he is tired of me, he move closer to the river and sit down.
” When you’re done let me know ” he said that, just sitting down and looking at them but I just look at him, how he close his eyes and breath in the fresh air
” Lord Thanatos?”
” Hmmm” he reply, I move closer to him and place my head on his lap while laying on the ground, he look down, meeting my gaze.
” Will you permit me to sleep with you again?” I mumble ” with you, demons stay away, I could sleep soundly ” he say nothing, just looking at me ” if we could cuddle, I promise not to push you off the bed ”
He furrow his brows ” cuddle?”
I nod, lifting my head, usually he will withdraw himself but this time he didn’t, he kept staring at me, our face is literally an inch apart ” tell me Chloe ” he mumble, voice calm ” are the rumors true?”
” You might not….”
” I will believe wh@tëver you say ” he retorted
I nod my head ” yes, half of it ” for the first time, I felt ashamed ” I did spend a night with lord xilber ”
” Your first time?” He asked and I nod ” was it forceful?” I shake my head and he smile ” am glad ” why is he being kind? Usually his words are horrible ” is he the one you fancy?”
It Won’t hurt to be honest with him ” yes ” I reply
” Why not wed him ”
” He is too bright ” I reply ” and you’re dark, I need you not him ”
” Why should I accept you?” He rise his brow, am surprised he didn’t ask as to why I made that statement.
” Am beautiful ” I smile ” virginity is not everything, I can be really good to you, I promise ” he is really being serious right now.
” Fine ” he exhale ” on one condition ”
That pick my interest ” what is it?”
” You will see no other man but me, I will be your husband and I will demand that am the only one you will dream or think about ” his hands slowly touch my face and I flinch ” I will be the only man in your life ” he smile ” you see, am a very greedy man…..am no angel ” my face heat up when he lean close to whisper to my ears
