CHAPTER 5⚔️ 6
Charles walked down the stairs lazily.He was still feeling sleepy but he didn’t want to get spanked by Lady Alicia so he had to get up quick.
His cold expression returned to his face as he sighted his maids and he walked emanating the a very powerful aura.
He got to the dining table and was about to sit down when he felt someone spank him on his head.He held his head in pain as he turned and stared at Lady Alicia in horror.
“What did I do to deserve this?”said Charles and Lady Alicia huffed.
“I gave you just 30mins but you spent more than an hour upstairs yet you walked down the stairs slowly and lazily like you had all the time in the world.”said Lady Alicia and Charles grinned nervously.
“Am sorry.I worked till late last night so I felt so weak this morning”said Charles.
“That doesn’t save you from your punishment.Dinner is on you tonight.Don’t come back late and make sure you go to the market and get the necessary ingredients for tonight meal.”said Lady Alicia.
Charles sighed and nodded sadly.He was always made to prepare dinner whenever he did anything wrong.That was madam Alicia’s way of punishing him.
She had made him a very good cook by doing that and there was no dish in the country that he couldn’t prepare.
He sat on the chair and hurriedly had his meal before heading to the office.
He got to the office and stepped into the building making his way to the elevator.He could hear the various complements of his female staffs and he only huffed to it.
He was used to getting admiring looks from ladies but they didn’t move him a bit.It wasn’t that he was a gay or he had no interest in ladies but he lost all interest in ladies after his first relationship turned worse.
His ex,Loveth, was a bad memory of his life and the time he spent with her was so bad but that wasn’t a story for today.
He got into his office and sat on his chair as he prepared to begin the day’s activities.He was looking through some files when Michael walked in.
“Good morning,sir.”greeted Michael with a wide smile.Charles stared at him and sighed.He had always been heal of Michael because he wondered how he could always have a wide smile plastered on his face.
He felt like Michael was with no worries and he had never for once seen Michael angry or sad.He secretly wished he had that kind of life but to him that was far from something he could wish for.
“Good morning,Michael”replied Charles.
“We’ve gotten a list of female bodyguards and we scheduled all of them for an interview tomorrow.You will need to be available for the interview so I decided to clear all your schedule for tomorrow.Please tell me if you have any objections to that.”said Michael.
He was so diligent in his work and apart from his life another thing he valued most was his job.He was the first child of his family and he had a younger sister who he hadn’t seen in 22yrs.
She was kidnapped when she was just two months old and ever since his parents had been searching for her.
His dad died along the way but his mother was still alive and she kept ringing to his ears that she needed to find her daughter.
Regardless of all the problems he was facing,he had made it a priority to always put on a smile.That alone covers all his worries and make him acceptable on the outside.
He stared at Charles and he knew that the problems he was going through was too much for him to handle and that was the only reason he was still by his side.He made up his mind to always be with Charles through the thick and thin no matter the problems he was going through.
“I don’t have any objections.”said Charles bringing him back to the present.
“Take a look at the pictures and personal information of the people we invited in for the interview against tomorrow.”said Michael as he dropped a pile of files on the table. He bowed slightly and left the office giving him some space.
Charles sighed softly and rested back on his chair as he loosened up his tie around his neck.
His mind was filled with so many thoughts.He picked up the file and started scrolling through.He was amazed that most of the women were between age range of 30-35 and they got their skill from a family training center.
His eyes caught a particular file and she was just 22yrs.He was amazed by her beauty and he found himself getting lost in her beauty besides she was the youngest of them.
He scrolled through her file and he was amazed that she had a special training from an underground martial arts club.He wondered the kind of childhood she must have lived for her to have undergo training at that kind of place.
He somehow found himself getting interested in her and he wanted to know all about her.
“Evelyn Sylvester,I can’t wait to meet you tomorrow.”said Charles as he touched his chin naughtily.
