CHAPTER 19⚔️20
Charles watched as the cool breeze blew Evelyn’s hair revealing her fair neck and he gulped down hardly.He somehow regretted the walk as he was losing his self control little by little.
“Are you ready to go back?”said Charles.
“Let’s enjoy the cool breeze a little bit more.”said Evelyn and Charles sighed.
They were still enjoying themselves in a companionable silence when some men dressed in black with a mask surrounded them.
“Get behind me”Charles said and Evelyn chuckled.
“No,Charles.Get behind me and let me do my job.”said Evelyn and Charles got behind her.
“Seems like playtime is over.”said Evelyn as she charged towards the men while Charles looked in amazement.
Charles’s eyes widened at every punch Evelyn threw and he stared at her unbelievably.
Who would know that a innocent-looking girl like Evelyn was a good fighter?
What was he even thinking?She was a bodyguard so ofcourse she should have some skills.
Evelyn sighed as she finished dealing with the men.She went towards the men on the ground and pulled one of them up.
“Who sent you?”asked Evelyn and the man spat on her face in reply.
She laughed and cleaned off the saliva before turning back to him.She gave him an hard punch that tore off his face making him bleed hard.
She moved towards him and tore off his mask.Her eyes caught something on his neck and when she looked closely it was a tattoo of a red serpent which only means that they were a member of the red serpent,a very powerful assassin gang.
“Seems like red serpent are making a move already.Everyone wants the money”Evelyn said within herself.
“That’s enough,Eve.Let’s go back to the office.The investigative team will handle the rest”said Charles and Evelyn nodded and they went to the office.
For the rest of the day,Evelyn kept thinking about the earlier occurrence.She felt like it will keep happening and members from different gang will come at Charles.She felt the sudden urge to protect him even though she was just like those people.
She wanted to make memories with him even if she will end up killing him.She made a resolution in her heart to protect him from every external attack.
“No one else has the right to kill him except me”she said to herself.
Charles was working on his computer but his mind wasn’t on it.He kept on stealing glances at Evelyn and he was bothered by the serious expression on her face.
The look she had on could kill and his mind drifted to her fighting skills.The skills she displayed was that of elites though it is still a bit inferior to his but he wasn’t sure he could defeat her if they clashed.
He looked at her and sighed again.He was somehow bothered by her actions but he shook off every doubt.She was just Evelyn Sylvester,his bodyguard and friend.
He had always seen her smiling and playing and he even thought of her as a playful girl with little or no skills but she had shown him that she had time for everything.
He chuckled and tapped his head.He was somehow going crazy.He somehow found her dangerous side hot and he felt eager to tame her.
(NIGHT TIME)
Evelyn was about to pull off her clothes when she felt a sharp pain in her stomach.She touched it and saw blood.She recalled that she must have been hurt during the earlier encounter.
She went downstairs to ask for the first aid kit.
“What do you want?”asked Charles as he saw her walking down the stairs.
“I need the first aid kit”replied Evelyn as she stood before him.
“Are you hurt?”asked Charles as his eyes roamed around her body.
“No”replied Evelyn.
“Then why do you need the kit?”Charles asked with care and Evelyn sighed in frustration.
“You ask too much questions.All I asked for is the first aid kit”said Evelyn and Charles huffed.
“Sorry I cared. It is over there”said Charles as he pointed to the shelf.
Evelyn picked it and went back to her room.She sat on her bed and placed the kit before her.She was about to pull off her clothes when Charles barged in.
“What the hell are you doing here?”yelled Evelyn
“Chill,Eve.I just want to help.”said Charles.
“I don’t need your help”replied Evelyn and Charles huffed as he sat opposite her.
“I didn’t ask if you needed it”said Charles as he opened the kit.
“Show me the wound”said Charles and Evelyn obediently showed it to him
He carefully applied medicine to it and cleaned it with care.Evelyn whimpered in pain as she bit her lips
“Sorry,endure the pain”said Charles as he blew air on the wound making Evelyn’s body tense up
The feeling of his hot breathe on her skin made her blood boil
“Is this your first time to get hurt?asked Charles as he covered the wound
“No,I have gotten hurt several times but this is the first time someone cared for my wounds.Thank you,Charlie”said Evelyn and Charles smiled
They were lost in each other’s eyes. Their face moved closer inch by inch
Evelyn shut her eyes as Charles slammed his lips on hers
