Evelyn took in a deep breath as they got outside and she held her stomach tightly as it grumbled.
“Am hungry”Evelyn grumbled as she held Charles’s hand whining like a kid.
“You don’t know how you look like right now”said Charles as he pinched her nose playfully.
“There is a restaurant around the corner,we can just eat there.”suggested Michael.
“Let’s go”said Evelyn as she dragged Charles into the car.
Loveth and Michael also got into their car and they drove off.
“Wow,am sure there will be many delicious delicacies here”said Evelyn as soon as she got down from the car.She pulled Loveth and ran into the restaurant leaving Charles and Michael behind.
“I feel like Loveth is about to snatch away my girlfriend”Charles said and Michael laughed as he stared at him unbelievably.
“Jealous freak”said Michael as he walked into the restaurant leaving Charles.
“What did you just say?”yelled Charles as he ran after him.
They sat down at the table near at a corner where they can get a good view of the streets.The waiter came to attend to them and he stretched out the menu.
“Just bring today’s full package”said Charles and Loveth looked at him in awe.
“Trying to prove rich as always”said Loveth and Charles giggled.
“I will pay for the meal so don’t bother”said Michael and Charles narrowed his eyes.
“No problem,it is the first time you’ve ever offered to buy me a meal anyway”Charles said to the surprise of everyone.They were expecting him to insist on paying but he didn’t more like he was expecting someone to pay for the meal.
“I didn’t know the rich also loved to leech off people”said Loveth and almost immediately the waiter came with their meal.
“Let’s eat”Evelyn said giggling as she dipped her spoon inside the food.
Loveth watched as Evelyn carefully picked out the beans and she was surprised to find Michael doing the same.
“One would think you both are siblings due to how you are picking out beans”said Loveth.Evelyn and Michael raised their heads up staring at each other.
“I don’t eat beans since I was young”said Evelyn as she kept on eating.
“Me too,My mother said it is a family trait. My father doesn’t eat beans also.”said Michael.His heart became troubled again.Could she really be his sister?
“That was so delicious and satisfying”said Evelyn as soon as they were done and Loveth nodded in agreement.
“Let’s wait a little longer and cool off ourselves”said Charles as he wiped his mouth with a tissue.
“While we wait,we can do a little introduction to know more about each other,I will start”Michael said as he sat upright and cleared his throat.That was his only way to know more about Evelyn and that might lead him to find out if she is his sister.
“Am Michael Scott.30yrs old and I majored in business administration.I attended University of California.I am currently the personal assistant to a block-headed CEO.”said Michael and they all burst into laughter except Charles.
He felt like killing Michael at the moment but right now he was powerless.He could only wait till they got to the company.
“Am Loveth Angelos,25yrs old.I majored in Insurance and right now am working in an insurance company.I went to the University of Britain.”said Loveth.
“I am Charles Brooklyn,you all know about me so I don’t think I need any introduction”Charles said nonchalantly and Loveth rolled her eyes at him.
“I guess it is my turn now”Evelyn said as she sat upright and rubbed her sweaty palms together.She didn’t know what to say about herself.Should she just tell them about her educational background skipping her gangster life to the present or should she be truthful.
She was still battling with her inner self when a loud noise was heard.They turned and there was a crowd outside.
“OMG,He is more handsome than he looked in pictures”
“Charles Brooklyn,I love you”
“You look so hot”
Can I get a picture?”
Those were the voices echoing from the crowd.Loveth hissed and glared at Charles.
“I was expecting this just like always,one can’t have a peaceful meal with Mr.Charles Brooklyn,the CEO of the best technology company and many others.”Loveth said mockingly.
Charles sighed as he held his head frustratingly.
“Let’s go”Charles said to them and they followed him.They left the restaurant through the back door and got a taxi to take them home leaving their cars behind.
All through,Loveth kept grumbling and fuming while Michael ignored her.Evelyn kept a straight face as she pondered on the words coming from the crowd.Apart from her been thankful that the noise didn’t allow her introduce herself.
How could they say they loved her man?Did they know who she was?She felt like using her knife to cut through their throats.
No,that would be too mean.She could just remove their vocal cord so they wouldn’t be able to speak anymore…
