CHAPTER 77⚔️78
Evelyn woke up and found herself in an unfamiliar environment.There was the smell of drugs everywhere and she also felt pain in her arm.Memories of what happened flowed back into her head and she looked around.
Was she dead?.She didn’t get an answer to her question when Charles rushed in with Linda,Michael,Brian,and Martins behind him.
“Thank God you are okay.I thought I lost you”Charles cried out as he hugged her tightly and tears flowed down her eyes.She suddenly felt pain in her arm and tried to pull away but Charles tightened the hug.
“Ahhh”Evelyn yelped in pain and Charles quickly pulled away looking at her apologetically.
“You fool,have you forgotten she is hurt”said Michael as he hit Charles.
Linda watched Evelyn from a corner and she wanted to hug her so tightly but she couldn’t bring herself near her.She was the cause of her daughter’s pain.
Evelyn turned her eyes and it met with that of Linda’s.
“Mother!”she called out and Linda felt like she was dreaming.She had dreamed of the day her daughter will call her that and she couldn’t believe it was happening.She took slow steps towards Evelyn and hugged her carefully as tears flowed down her eyes.
“Thank you for pulling through,baby.Mommy is very sorry”said Linda as she patted Evelyn’s hair.
“Mother!”Evelyn called out again.Her joy knew no bounds at the moment.’Mother’ that was a word she never thought she would have the chance to say it at least not in this world.
Linda pulled away after some time and stared at Evelyn as she wiped off her tears.
“Evelyn!!”Loveth screamed as she rushed in the ward and showered Evelyn with kisses.
“Thanks for pulling through and also saving the baby.I thought we might lose both of you”said Loveth leaving Evelyn confused.What baby?
Evelyn pulled away and turned to Charles throwing him a questioning look.
“Well,I was going to tell you at the right time but all thanks to my chatterbox friend,Loveth,I guess you found out”Charles said through gritted teeth and Loveth shot him a glare as she held Michael’s hand.
“You are one month pregnant,Eve.You are carrying my baby”said Charles and Evelyn’s eyes welled up in tears.She would have regretted it alot if she died with the baby.She wrapped her hands around her stomach asshe cried.
“Am going to be a grandma,Michael.You are going to be an uncle”said Linda as she hugged Michael.
Evelyn turned to Michael and signalled for him to come closer.She held his hand and smiled sweetly at him.
“It feels so good to have a big brother”said Evelyn and Michael smiled sniffing back his tears.
“I am sorry for not finding you sooner”said Michael and Evelyn smiled.
“Don’t even care shed a year there,Mick.You almost turned this place into a ocean when she was unconcious.It took ages to comfort you and am not ready to start all over”Brian said as he glared at Michael and they all burst into laughter.
Evelyn looked around laughing.Her loved ones were around her and she felt so happy.Her mind suddenly drifted to her father,Scar.
“What about father?”asked Evelyn and everywhere became dead silent.
“He is dead”said Linda and Evelyn bursted into tears surprising herself.She was meant to resent him for all he did to her but surprisingly she didn’t.She felt pity for him and he didn’t even have the chance to repent of his sins before his death.

Evelyn stood by the window gazing at the stars.She was still in the hospital and they had all gone up except Charles.They all wanted to stay with her till the next day but she didn’t allow it They had been with her since and she knew they needed rest.
Charles entered and hugged her from behind.
“What is my angel thinking about?”asked Charles and Evelyn smiled.
“Am thinking about everything including the baby.What gender do you prefer?”asked Evelyn and Charles thought for a while before kissing her cheeks.
“I will prefer a girl,I want her to be as charming as you are but if it is a boy then I will make sure he grows up to be as strong as you are.What about you”Charles asked.
“I don’t know.If it is a girl then I will make sure she doesn’t have a life like mine.I will protect and cherish and only show her the good side of life but if it is a bit I will train him up well so he doesn’t grow up like father.”saidEvelyn and Charles smiled.
“Whichever way it is I have no doubt that you will be a good mother.”said Charles and Evelyn smiled.
“Let’s get married,Eve”said Charles and Evelyn turned to him.
“Okay”said Eve and they hugged each other tightly.
