Jack was about to stab him in his side but then Jax lowered himself, bringing his lips closer to Jack’s ear.
“Jack, I’m sorry,” Jax apologized.
Jack’s hand stopped, shocked and confused by Jax’s apology.
“I know that you are doing all this because I hurt you so much in the past. I’m sorry for everything I did,” Jax apologized, profusely. “I’m sorry for all the times I impersonated you and caused problems for you when we were kids. I’m sorry for every trauma I caused you and I’m more sorry for Rosa… I didn’t know she would die. I’m sorry,”
Jack wanted to remain angry and stab him but he couldn’t continue with his plan. He just stayed still, feeling so confused.
“I’m sorry that it took me so long to apologize. I was being a jerk,” Jax muttered, knowing that he owed Jack a whole lot of apologies.
If their childhood was hell, well Jax made it worse for Jack.
Jack finally blinked and the dagger slipped from his hand. He pushed Jax off him.
“So, apologizing is your new strategy, huh?”Jack asked, glaring at him.
“Well, I know this fight isn’t about Gabriella. You are just angry at me and you have every right to be. That’s why I have decided to apologize for all the pain I caused you. Do you forgive me?”
Jack gazed at him, feeling a bit speechless. He was always upset with Jax because he never apologized for everything he did to him.
He wanted Jax to be sorry for all the pain that he caused him and now that Jax had apologized, he didn’t know what to do next.
“What are you both doing?” Gabriella yelled, running into the empty field with Echo behind her.
Gabriella got to them and was shocked to see the blood on their faces and fists.
“You were fighting over me?” Gabriella asked with her eyes widened at them.
Echo heard that they were going to fight from one of the guards and she decided to tell Gabriella about it.
They rushed to the field which Echo thought would be the best place for a secret duel.
“Gabriella, what are you doing here?” Jax asked in surprise.
“Why would you both try to kill yourself for me? You are brothers for God’s sake!” Gabriella yelled and let out an exhausted sigh.
She didn’t know how Jax found out about her mate bond with Jack but she didn’t care.
“Alright, this is the end,” Gabriella sighed.
“What do you mean by that?” Jax asked in confusion.
“I can’t have both of you as my mates. I have done enough research and have sorted out my feelings. I’m going to be rejecting one of you,” Gabriella said, shocking the twins.

Jack’s cabin.
Jack went to the restroom and washed off the blood on him. He returned to Gabriella who was waiting for him in the sitting room.
“Why did you follow me here?” Jack asked.
Gabriella stood from the couch and replied, “Jack, I can’t do this anymore,”
“What do you mean by that?” He asked.
“I am…going to reject you,” Gabriella replied.
Jack’s wolf snarled inside as she mentioned rejection. He might have had ulterior motives for being with her but he liked her.
“Why are you going to do that?” Jack asked with a weird smile on his lips.
“I can’t keep up with this anymore. I can’t have both brothers fighting for me and I won’t have two men fûcking me either… I can’t be with both of you at the same time,” Gabriella replied.
“Alright, so why are you rejecting me? Why not Jax?”
“Jax is the father of my baby. He helped me from being ruined by my ex-boyfriend. He was harsh at first but he’s not that bad. I love spending time with him and my heart flutters when I see him. I love it when he touches me…I feel happy when he’s around me… “Gabriella stated.
“What about me? Didn’t you feel anything for me?” Jack asked with hurt palpable in his voice.
“I like you, you are always nice to me but wh@tëver we had was not love. It was simply lust and without the bond, I wouldn’t feel anything for you,” Gabriella said, truthfully. “I liked how Jack made me feel from the first night we had together… It’s not the same thing I feel for you. There’s no spark, no flutter, no skipping of my heart…”
“Jack, I don’t love you,” Gabriella added with tears slipping out of her eyes. “It was just an attraction, nothing more. I was confused at first but now, I know what I want and I don’t want to be with you,”
Jack didn’t expect to feel so hurt by her words because it wasn’t the first time of getting rejected by someone.
“Oh, really?” Jack laughed.
“So,this is it. Everyone always chooses Jax, he’s the better choice right?”
“Jack, I’m sorry…” Gabriella cried.
“Do you know that once you reject me, I’m not going to have another mate or chance to be truly happy with anyone,”Jack asked and let out another painful laugh.”You can go ahead and reject me. I am used to getting rejected. It’s a normal thing for me,”
“Jack, I’m sorry,”
“No, you aren’t. I just feel a little sorry for myself because I was fighting a lost battle from the beginning,” Jack replied.
“Go ahead with it. I have to cook something for myself,” Jack uttered.
Gabriella sniffed and nodded.
“I, Gabriella Jean, reject you, Jackson Black as my mate,”
There was a terrible pain in Jack’s chest as the bond got cut off but he didn’t show any pain on his face.
“I accept your rejection,” He said without hesitation.
Gabriella knew that something changed immediately.
“You know that we can still be friends, right?” Gabriella sniffed.
“Just leave…” Jack muttered and left her in the sitting room.
Gabriella felt bad for him but the deed had already been done.
As Jack heard her footsteps leaving the house, he gazed at the food items on his kitchen counter.
He was trying to smile but he couldn’t. A tear escaped his eye and another one followed.
“Fûck,” He cussed. “Fûckkk!!!” I cried out and threw down all the items on the counter.
He didn’t want to break down in tears but he couldn’t stop himself.
“Why does this always happen to me? Why, why why!!!!!!!!” He growled with tears streaming down his cheeks.

Two weeks later. The pack house.
“We should throw a birthday party for you,” Jax suggested.
“That would be fun but I want only a few people. I don’t want to get too stressed…I’m saying this because of the baby,” Gabriella smiled, touching her belly.
Jax went to sit beside her and kissed her stomach.
“It’s funny when you do that,” Gabriella laughed.
Jax raised his head and smiled, “What are we going to name our baby or probably babies, since we’ve had a number of twins in my family,”
“How come I haven’t met them?” Gabriella asked.
“Some have been banished, some want nothing to do with us, while others live with humans.” Jax replied.
“We should start thinking of names then, in case we have two puppies…” Gabriella said and Jax laughed.
“They aren’t called puppies, they are called pups. Doll face, you always make me laugh,” Jax chuckled.
“Sorry, I always make mistakes,” Gabriella laughed and suddenly farted.
The sound made Jax’s eyes widen and the smell was worse than that of a dead rat.
“Oh my goodness!” Jax pegged his nose and ran away from the bed. “What do you eat that makes your fart stink so much?… I think I’m going to throw up,”
He ran out of room and Gabrielle burst into laughter.
“I’m sorry, it was the baby…I mean babies,”
“Don’t you dare blame my children for that… Oh moon goddess, it’s smelling out here!”

Late in the night, Jack went to a bar that he had never been to.
He went to a seat there and waited for one of the waitresses to approach him. When she met him, he ordered some whiskey.
As he began drinking, a strange scent waffled through his nostrils. He wanted to ignore it but his wolf kept troubling him to look at his side.
He darted his gaze to the counter and there he saw a lady standing. She looked Asian with dark long hair, fair white skin and long slender legs.
When she faced him, he beheld her face and she looked so beautiful.
‘Mate!’ his wolf growled inside him and the tumbler in his hand slipped and shattered to the floor.
The woman noticed his reaction while staring at her and she gazed at him as well, finding him attractive.
With a sly smile on her lips, she walked to him.
“Hi,” She smiled.
Jack snapped out of wh@tëver trance he was in and replied, “Hey,”
“My name is Lee Yuna,” She introduced herself with a smile.
It was unknown to Jack that she was the daughter of one of the evil doctors that wanted to experiment on him and his twin brother.
