Gift agreed to do what her mother advised her to and was very optimistic about it
The next day, gift mother told her to go and call rose for her, she left and went to rose house, instead of her to go in and call rose, she hide at one big orange tree in their compound
When she heard the voice of Rose, she was scared and her heart was beating so fast, finally she gathered moral and came out from her hiding and went inside to call rose.
She gets in and delivered to Rose the message her mother sent her to, Rose didn’t even look at her, she simply answered OK, tell nne that I will be there soon let me finish washing plate.
But gift told her that her mother said that they should both come together very fast then rose left the plates she wanted to wash and followed gift to her house, on the way gift asked rose how many she got in the assessment text
Rose was surprised that gift was able to talk to her, she happily and eagerly answered her, 28/30 and what of you rose asked gift, the same thing too 28/30, they both laughed and said at the same time…. It was 7 and 9 I failed
They were surprised that it was just the same mark that they had and the same question that they also failed, they can’t help but laugh joyously, before they knew what was happening, they have already held each other’s hands like before and matched to gift house
Gift mother was surprised already that they have became friends again and smiled to her self when she remembers her own time when she was their age, she also did things like that with her friends…. She murmured
Agwa umuaka sef gwuru ike agwa ha na ato ochi… (children behavior are tireing and funny also)
She then advised them and told them not to quarrel, that unless they want to go to hell
They both agreed never to quarrel again and won’t go to hell fire but instead they will go to heaven.
Rose ate in gifts house that day,…. She later went home that day and told her mother everything that happened and how gift talked to her that day, Rose mother smiled and told her next time when she is on her right that she should not start behaving as if without the other person her life won’t be completed.
She nodded and thanked her mother for all her advice, then she hugged her mother and her mother cuddle her and pat her hair gently.
There friendship blossom and everything was going on smoothly as both friend has return to their normal bonding lifestyle
Their common entrance entrance examination is fast approaching and both Rose and Gift are studying hard together to make sure they pass their exams and make their parents very proud.
The thought of them leaving primary school to secondary school gives them more zeal to even study more harder.
On the day of the common entrance exam, they both wished each other good luck since they were not going to sit together unlike during normal school exam period where they are always together.
Rose’s surname starts with letter ‘A’ Which is Afamdi (Afamdi Roseline) while Gift’s surname starts with letter ‘O’ which is Okonkwo (Okonkwo Gift)
So Rose will be sitting in the front roll while Gift will be sitting in the middle according to alphabetical order.
Irrespective of the fact that Rose will be sitting in the front roll, she wasn’t scared or perturbed about it because she had really studied hard for the exam and was very determined to pass with flying colors.
Likewise Gift too, she was determined to pass.
