Gift turned a new leave and she stopped sneaking out late at night, she became close to Rose again and they started doing things in common as usual.
Soon they wrote their senior waec and graduated from secondary school, they were very happy that they both made it to the end together
Their families were happy and proud of their children for not putting them into shame as some of their village people does, either the came back expelled maybe because of cültim , failure or they got pregnant.
They were grateful and thanked God, but it was only Rose, God and Gift herself that knew about the wayward life She (Gift) lived in school and she thanked God for the kind of friend she got
Rose kept her secret and never even mentioned it to either her mother or Gift’s mother. After some months their results came out, they both made it in flying colors and hoped to write jamb and enter into University next year.
One Christmas period, Gift and Rose were strolling to the village square together when a guy stopped them, after greetings, the guy started talking to Gift while Rose excused them.

The guys name is Francis, is a wealthy guy who had spent many of his years abroad, he doesn’t have parents
He was dumped by the roadside and an elderly woman picked him up trained him and because of his intelligence he won a scholarship during his ss2 and travelled out of the country, but been nwa Afo Igbo, (real igbo boy) igbo intornation never left his mouth.
He finished his school abroad and now resides there, he is a doctor but promised never to marry a white lady, that was why he returned home and also to build house for the woman who trained her and also take her abroad. So he has three main purpose of coming down to Nigeria.
Meeting with Gift, he played on low key with Gift pretending to be an igbo boy who resides in lagos….So he pretended to be simple as to win the heart of any girl she would marry, for love sake and not for material things.
The guy is very handsome average height and fair in complexion, very funny and jovial, a free and simple person, He saw Gift and loved her naturally and was happy that he has seen his missing ribs.
The guy spoke with Gift for a long time and they felt a connection between the two of them.
They exchanged pleasantries and the guy also thanked Rose for her understanding. Then they went to their separate ways.
Gift was very happy and through out the day she was happy and blushing…. Rose was happy for her friend and wished her good luck.
Francis and Gift always met in different places and through out their stays Gift is always excited and can’t stop laughing.
Francis now knows Gift and her mother too, he goes to Gift’s house most times and their friendship is getting stronger and stronger together with their bond, until one day.
