“Can’t believe we are back to square one” Mary complain as she bit into her doughnut.
“What do you mean by square one?” Bonnie asked.
“We are back to being alone. There’s no sign of Donovan, Francis and Andrew” Mary reminded.
“We can do without them. Stop complaining and….” Bonnie stop when she saw the sad look on Lucy’s face.
“Stop feeling guilty. You thought he was gay and did your best to keep him away from the guy you like, you only did what you thought best” Bonnie said.
Lucy couldn’t help but to think back to the day Andrew corrected her on being gay.
She had been so shock that she could say nothing to him, he had taken her back to her hospital and left without a word.
He never came back to the hospital to see her neither has she seen him for the whole week.
“I heard from Francis that Andrew is at the hospital taking care of his brother since his condition got worse. Do you wanna go see him?” Mary asked and Lucy shook her head.
“He probably h@tës me” Lucy said as Bonnie gave her a hug.
“Ever since the day he told me the truth, he hasn’t come to see me and he’s probably avoiding to come to school just to avoid me. I understand him, I also wouldn’t want to see him if I were in his shoes” Lucy added.
“Tell me something, how do you feel about Andrew?” Mary suddenly ask
“I….am not sure”
“But you feel nothing for William, right?” Bonnie asked.
“Am not sure too” Lucy replied.
“Why don’t you try meeting with one of them. Seeing them might help you decide who you love” Mary suggest.
“The thought of seeing Andrew terrifies me, what if he’s still angry and tells me to leave?”
“You won’t know until you see him. So, get on your feet and head to the hospital. If he’s angry like you claim, he wouldn’t want to see you, keep that in mind” Mary told her as she help Lucy up.
When Lucy was gone, Bonnie and Mary stayed at the rooftop starring down at the other students going about.
“Why haven’t I seen Steve?” Bonnie asked.
“Maybe he’s busy” Mary replied while thinking about Steve.
Ever since he confess his feelings to her, he’s been avoiding her.
She should be glad that he’s keeping his distance since she felt nothing for him but she felt a bit sad and empty without him around.
“Why don’t you call him so we can have lunch together” Bonnie said.
“Er…I no longer have phone credit, why don’t you call him” Mary said as Bonnie did that.
Mary hope he will pick and accept the invitation but he didn’t even pick Bonnie call.
“Seems like we will have lunch on our own” Bonnie said.
They were both leaving when Bonnie got a call from Donovan.
As always she ended the call and turn to see Mary watching her.
“What’s going on between you and Donovan?”
“Nothing”
“He likes you. You should give him a chance” Mary said.
“How can I give someone with a fiancee a chance?” Bonnie return.
“Is Donovan engaged or are you talking about the engagement he had in the past?”
“In the past?”
“From what I heard, Donovan was involve with an Australian model, they were going to get married but she cancelled it and left, its been a year since it happen” Mary inform.
“I don’t know who told you about his engagement but he’s as free as a bird, so you should change your mind and give him a chance” Mary added lightly
Having nothing to say, they left the rooftop.

<< HOSPITAL ~ EVENING >>
“You did what?”
“Lucy knows everything, I had to tell her” Andrew replied starring at a fuming William.
“Why did you have to do that? You know how risky it is telling her about us!”
“Lucy misinterpret the whole thing. She thought I was gay and so…I had to tell her and besides it happen a week ago. If she was going to tell anyone then she would have done that”
“You promised not to say anything. You promised to keep it a secret even taking the fall for your brother when your parents heard rumors about him being gay but all because of a girl, you are ruining things” William yelled at him.
“Don’t forget that you caused the accident which got your brother here” William added wanting him to feel guilty.
“I know and gawd knows that have done my best to make it up to him. If I hadn’t dared him to ride the motorcycle, he would never have gotten into the accident. Its my fault and I accept it but I can’t keep on being his scapegoat forever, I have a right to live my life too”
“And that’s with Lucy right?” William asked and Andrew chose not to reply.
“Fine, do wh@tëver you want but if anything happens to your brother all because of your selfishness, I won’t forgive you” William added and left the room.
Andrew let out a sigh as soon as William left the ward.
The vibration of his phone got him pulling it out of his pocket.
It was a message from Alexis and Andrew was wondering why Alexis sent him a text when he click into it to read it’s content.
On the other hand, William was fueling with rage as he walk out of the hospital.
How could Andrew betray him just because of a girl….he thought inwardly.
To think that he even went as far as to strike a deal with Alexis just to get Lucy to stay away from Andrew but dumb Alexis refuse his offer.
He pulled out a cigarette to lit it when a taxi stopped in front of the hospital and Lucy came out of it.
William crush the cigarette In his hands feeling more angry than ever.
Lucy felt a bit nervous since she kept wondering how Andrew will recieve her.
She got to the reception desk just as someone called her name.
“Good to see you here” William said.
“Same here” Lucy replied, starring at him intently.
In the past, the beat of her heart was always unusual, anytime she’s with William but right at this moment, she feels nothing.
Can she say she’s out of love for him? She thought.
“If you are looking for Andrew then you just miss him, he left a while ago” William lied.
“Really? When will he be back?”
“Tomorrow, the poor thing didn’t get enough rest, so I told him to stay at home for the rest of the day” William said.
“Then it’s best I go see him at home” Lucy said, walking past him but he took hold of her hand.
“I don’t think that will be a good idea” William said and when Lucy said nothing, he withdrew his hand only for her to hold it again.
William stared at their hands and smiled.
“This is the first time am seeing you without your gloves on. You do have pretty fingers” William said, expecting her to join in his laughter but her face was rigid.
For the first time in a while, Lucy forgot to put on her gloves and when William touched her, she saw his future.
A future which revealed to her that William is the real gay and he is in love with Andrew not with Andrew’s brother.
Also, in an hour time, William will kill Andrew’s brother by removing the life support machine.
And most importantly, William is the masked guy and he will end up killing her like he has always wanted.
She will be dying in an hour time…….
