“Oh my gawd! Look at the mess we made, Jerome” Janella said as she tried to get down from the mirror stan.
They didn’t even know, nor heard the falling bottles of perfumes. They were too lost in the kiss that nothing else existed except them.
“Careful, just stay there for now so you hurt yourself” Jerome said, stretching his hand out, trying to tell Janella to stay where she is, and shouldn’t make any move because they were so many broken bottles on the floor.
Janella nodded and did exactly what Jerome asked her to do by sitting still.
Jerome carefully walked out of there, and picked his phone from where he had thrown it to later on.
“Lucie, please assign one of your girls to come clean up a mess in my room” Jerome said as he called Lucie the heads maids.
“Right away, Master” Lucie replied immediately, and bowed even though Jerome couldn’t see her.
“Gosh! This is such a big mess and waste” Janella began to pity the broken bottles of perfumes.
Jerome chuckled and went back to her, going between her legs as he started brushing her hair to the back.
He kissed her forehead, then resumed playing with her hair.
“Don’t tell me you’re worried about the broken perfumes” He said and Janella frowned.
“So I shouldn’t be worried? I can imagine how much those perfumes cost” Janella said and Jerome chuckled again.
“I’ll get new ones at the perfumery’s later today. So stop worrying” Jerome replied her.
“What a waste of money” Janella said immediately.
“Okay, okay. You want another kiss, hmm?” Jerome asked and Janella giggled immediately, shaking her head as they shared a quick kiss, and later just hugged Jerome to herself, lovingly. Just staying like that.
°°° BIG MOMMA’S HOME ～☆
“Huh?! Abbey?” Janella was completely left in shocks, when she walked in and saw her sister sitting on the couch and just scrolling through her phone.
Abbey on the other hand was a bit startled as she didn’t know when Janella walked in.
“Hey, sis…welcome back” She said slowly as an awkward smile just escaped her lips.
“Abbey….why….what are you doing here? You didn’t tell me you were…..
“Oh, Ella is back already” Big Momma cut Janella off as she walked into the living room instantly, smiling a little.
“Big Momma, what’s going on? Did Abbey tell you she was coming?” Janella asked. She turned to look at Abbey for a second, then back to Big Momma.
“Wait….um, grandma? You…..promised me you were gonna tell Janella that I want to come see her” Abbey said, frowning a little as she stared at Big Momma who just kept smiling.
“And I also said “if I don’t forget to tell her” Big Momma replied, which kind of sounded annoying but funny.
“Ugh…., Grandma! You can never change. I knew you weren’t going to tell her” Abbey grunted and Big Momma chuckled instead.
Of course she remembered what Abbey said about telling Janella that she was coming.
Big Momma intentionally didn’t let Janella know that her sister was coming to see her because she wanted her to really be surprised to see her sister when she finally comes. Even though she knew that Janella won’t be that happy to see her sister, especially not being told of her coming beforehand.
“Big Momma!” Janella could only squeeze her face in displeasure.
“What? You better go have your bath and come eat the yummy food your sister has prepared for you” Big Momma said and Abbey, whose food has just been praised, smiled hard.
“Wait, what? So, she’s been here for long already?” Janella asked and turned again to look at Abbey who quickly looked away, avoiding Janella’s eyes.
“And why didn’t you tell me by yourself that you were coming, huh?” Janella asked.
“What? I knew you were gonna say no, that’s why I asked grandma instead. I missed you, big sis, honestly” Abbey pouted and immediately hugged Janella, snuggling her head on Janella’s body like a kid who hasn’t seen her mom in days.
“Or….don’t you miss me?” Abbey said, and Janella rolled eyes, but she didn’t know when a smile curved up on her lips.
She couldn’t believe she was actually talking to her sister face to face after how many years of not seeing her physically.
They’ve recently been talking on phone ever since Abbey managed to get her contact. They’ve been doing video calls sometimes too, but now that she’s seeing her physically, she looks totally different from the last time she saw her sister face to face.
She actually didn’t want Abbey to come here because she feels her parents would start thinking that she is gradually forgiving them, and that’s why she’s allowing Abbey to come see her.
But if only she knew that thier parents don’t even know where Abbey is right now, because she told no one where she was going.
She’s on break now from school, so she decided to come here, with no intentions of letting her parents know of her whereabouts.
°°°JANELLA’S ROOM ～☆
“I hope you didn’t tell them you were coming to see me?” Janella asked Abbey who immediately followed her to her room.
“Of course I didn’t. Why would I even do that?” Abbey replied and Janella scoffed with an eye roll.
“Why did you come anyway?” Janella asked another question, and Abbey could only grunt.
She knew she was going to be answering a lot of questions from Janella.
“Geez, sis! I missed you bàd….badly missed you, and that’s why I came to see you. It’s been how many years without my sister in the house. You know it’s not easy, right?
I’m not surprised that you’re not happy that I’m here. It’s okay.
I totally understand” Abbey started, sounding very sad and emotioal.
But Janella scoffed again instead.
“It’s okay if you don’t want me here, maybe I should just start going back home” Abbey continued, figetting with her fingers.
“Emotional blackmailer. If you think I have forgotten what you are good at doing, then think again, silly child ” Janella said and Abbey immediately smiled inwardly.
“How are you?” Janella let out a small smile.
Abbey hugged her tight instead without replying Janella.
She broke the hug after a while, smiling at her sister.
“I am more than fine now that I have seen, touched and hugged you. You’ve changed so much, Janella. I almost didn’t recognize you, swears!” Abbey said and Janella giggled, then went to drop her bag where she keeps them.
“We have a lot of chit chtatting to do, sis, but let’s start with your clothes first. I don’t have anything to wear tonight..” Abbey said as she plopped down tiredly on Janella’s bed.
“Then you’ll wear banana leaves to bed. Or better still, you can sleep nakèd” Janella replied her immediately.
“Ahh! Sis….”
“I swear, you’ll find yourself and your luggage on the highway if you touch my closet” Janella threatened.
“Eish! Didn’t know you’ve become this stingy” Abbey frowned.
“Even the devil is learning from me, you silly child!” Janella said and Abbey laughed out, just staring at her Janella with a head shake.
How much she has missed this crazy and loving sister of hers.
°°° AT THE SUPER MARKET °°° NEXT DAY

“Well, well, well! If it isn’t Nurse Angela, who else would it be?” Someone said behind Nurse Angela, the Nurse whom Janella asked to show her the way to the restroom, back at the hospital when Desiree got those allergies.
The same Nurse who freaked out when she saw Janella.
She actually came to the supermarket to buy some stuff.
The moment she heard that voice, she recognized it, and immediately turned to look at the person.
She gasped inwardly on seeing the unknown, but composed herself immediately.
“What a coindence?” The unknown giggled, staring at Nurse Angela weirdly. “You know, I actually thought would never meet again. I mean, it’s been how many years now since you disappeared from the hospital. Life is actually funny, you know” The unknown smiled.
“What do you want?” Nurse Angela asked, obviously pissed already.
“Nothing, absolutely nothing. I just want to know what you are hiding, that’s all” The unknown spoke, still smiling wickédly.
“I don’t know what you think I am hiding, but just know I am hiding nothing” Nurse Angela replied.
“So, why did you leave the hospital? Why did you quit working in that hospital? Humph!” The Unknown chuclked.
“I actually love games, I seriously do” The unknown person said and left immeadiately without saying another thing.
Nurse Angela breathed out in relief immediately, but scared.
°°° JEROME’S HOME ～☆
“Wanted asking you the other day about your health, JJ” Janella started as she puts her phone to sleep before facing Jerome.
“Okay….” Jerome said slowly, turning all his attention to her.
“Yeah” Janella said and took Jerome’s left hand into hers, rubbing it softly before she began to talk. “So, have you been taking medications seriously?” She asked, staring intently at him.
“Yes, definitely….”
“Okay, so what has the doctor said, or been saying about it? I know it has no cure, but at least those medications are there to help fight it” Janella said and Jerome sighed out first before replying her.
“Well, the doctor always says my condition is still stable” Jerome simply told her.
Janella breathed out and just kept playing with his hand without saying anything for seconds.
“Hmm” She sighed. “What about the other one? Do you also take medications for it?” Janella just kept asking and asking like a mom questioning or lecturing her kid.
“Definitely, Ella. I’ve been taking them since the incident. And not just the medications, I go for a checkup often times, for both health conditions”
“Okay. Any improvement? Have you seen any difference from then and now? What has the doctor said about it?” Janella asked again as she stares into his eyes.
“Yes, I’ve seen a lot of changes. It was always hard for me to maintain an….” Jerome paused when he found it difficult and a little bit ashamed to say what he wanted to say.
“Are you okay? What is it? You know what? It’s fine if you don’t feel like saying it” Janella smiled and began to massage his fingers.
“But anyway, have you tried to and still found out that you couldn’t? And have you visited another hospital so far?” Janella started again after they went quiet for a moment.
“Not actually. You think I should do that?” Jerome asked and Janella nodded with a smile.
“But my hospital is the best in the city….”
“The best isn’t always the best, JJ. We’ll try and visit another hospital, okay? Or don’t you want to?” Janella asked, more like a tease.
Jerome smiled and chuckled at the same time due to how Janella said it.
“Come here, baby” Jerome said and poked Janella’s nose, making her to giggle.
Funny how he loves to poke their noses (She and Desiree).
Speaking of Desiree….
Janella frowned immediately when that thought crossed her mind so fast like a shooting star.
“Jerome? Do you mind if I ask you a question….kind of a personal question?” Janella asked.
“Sure” Jerome replied immediately.
“Um, this thought just crossed my mind now. If you’re unable to get any woman pregnant, how come about Desiree?” Janella threw the question without hesitating.
Jerome kept shut for seconds before taking in a deep breath.
He was the one who the held Janella’s hands, rubbing the thier backs with his thumps as he stared at her quietly.
“To be honest, Janella, I still don’t know how Desiree became my daughter. It is still a mystery and a very difficult puzzle I don’t even know how to start solving” Jerome finally spoke, causing Janella to frown because of what she just heard him say.
“What are you talking about, Jerome?” Janella asked in confusion.
Jerome sighed.
“Truth is that, Desiree wasn’t my biological daughter. She was adopted” Jerome spoke up and Janella’s mouth went wide in complete shocks and disbelief, her eyes weren’t excluded.
“Wait, what?!” Came her shocked and surprised voice.
OMG!
He’s got to be kidding her right now!

Desiree is/was adopted?
Yet he loved, and still loves and cherishes that little soul to the moon and back?
Janella has seen that unconditional and undying love Jerome has been showering Desiree with since the very first day she started working as Desiree’s nanny.
He’d do anything and everything to make sure Desiree is always happy and okay.
Even if it means him dying for her. He’d do it without having a second thought.
Jerome would be ready to dìe for his little daughter over and over again.
She can vividly remember the day Desiree got the allergies.
She can still remember how Jerome almost ran màd when he arrived the hospital, even though he tried to control himself.
She could see that panicked and scared look on his face.
She doesn’t need to date or be with him for months before she can start raining praises on him, because this few times she has spent with him and his daughter, are more than enough.
Jerome is the kind of guy every lady or woman would want to be with. The kind of father they would for their kids.
The kind of brother every body would love to have.
She isn’t over hyping him or anything as such, it is just a clear fact, a very obvious one that you’ll see for yourself when you get to spend even a minute with him.
Well, life is still unfair to this same down to earth guy.
Very very unfair!
“Yeah, you remember when Desiree got those sudden allergies and it turned out….she got them from the Pastrami she ate?” Jerome asked and Janella nodded immediately, eagerly waiting for him to say more.
Anyway, Jerome explained everything to her while she sat back and listened keenly to everything he said.
Janella was more than shocked after hearing him say all that.
“This is more than a mystery, Jerome, and it’s indeed a hard puzzle to solve. I honestly don’t understand any of this at all” Janella said, and again, Jerome sighed.
“I swear, Janella, I don’t even know how or where to start from. Would you also believe that someone even tampered with the first DNA results?” Jerome continued.
“What the heck?” Janella could only exclaim with raised brows, eyes wide open.
“This so confusing. I mean, why would anyone do that? What’s their reason and aim for doing so?”
“Same questions I have been asking myself ever since it happened” Jerome ruffled his hair a little and pinched the bridge his nose.
“Hmm!” Janella sighed out. “So….you don’t remember anything that happened in your past?” Janella asked.
“I honestly don’t remember, Ella. I feel so useless and helpless” Jerome shut his eyes whilst he let out another sigh of frustration.
“Hey, don’t say that!” Janella shunned him immediately with a displeased look.
How can he be calling himself useless? And even in her presence!
Does he want to be spanked by her like a kid or what?
“You are not useless and will never be, understand?
Now, look at me” Janella said, making Jerome to turn his face to look at her like she asked him to.
“I don’t know how we are going to do this, but you’ve got me, okay? You’ve got your family as well. You and I will do this together, hmm?”
“I will help you get answers to all these questions, okay? Please stop stressing yourself, JJ. You don’t need stress, but a good and peaceful rest. I know these aren’t things to take lightly, especially what you said about someone who is after your life and Desiree’s. But I don’t want you thinking too much about everything, it is not good for your health, please”
“Can you do that for me and little Dee?” Janella asked and a smile was finally seen on his face.
He f*cking love the “me and little Dee” that she said.
“Yes, I can. But you have to kiss me to sign and seal that agreement” Jerome said, smiling mischievously.
“What silly signing of agreement is that?” Janella chuckled and shook her head, seriously staring at him.
This guy who is now her baby boy, will never be serious at all, never!
Janella gave him a quick kiss on the lips anyway, and pulled away.
“Stop being stingy with kisses, JJ’s starlight” Jerome said. And as he said that, he pulled Janella close enough to his body and began to eat her lips so d@mn good, wetting and kissing their existence out.
Since that first time they kissed, her lips have become his favorite and daily meal.
In fact, his breakfast that he that he desires to eat first before any other meal comes.
Janella on the other hand, wants his as much as he wants hers.
The only sound that can be heard in the room right now, is the sound made by their wet lips as they kissed harder.
Janella moved her hand to his face, holding that side of it tenderly.
Kissing him back in the slow and gentle pace he was kissing her.
Jerome’s hands were on her small waist, holding it tenderly too, but he slowly began to move his hands and started roaming with them.
Things began to heat up, and the room was starting to get hot too.
The slow and passìonate kiss continued, but it was maddening!
And just when Jerome was about to…to..
“Daddy, why are you fighting and bitting Miss Ella?” Innocent Desiree who had been having her siesta since she got back from school, asked Jerome as she walked into his room, and caught them “fighting”
She was even squeezing her small eyes as she walked to go meet them on the bed, because the sleep had not cleared off those eyes yet.
Anyway, Janella and Jerome instantly froze on hearing Desiree’s voice.
“Why didn’t you lock the door?!” Jerome whispered as he let go of Janella immediately.
“Sorry, I thought I did” Janella whispered back very lowly.
“What kind of a lie am I supposed to cook up now?” Jerome whispered quickly as Desiree walked closer and closer.
“Ughhh…..baby girl, I…I…I was just trying t…t…t…teach Miss Ella how to fight Kung Fu” Jerome stuttered as he tries to tell Desiree the most uncooked lie of all time, smiling funnily and weirdly.
“Haaaa…..?” Desiree squeezed her nose, curved her lips in an amusing way, and was busy looking at her dad funnily.
And crazy Janella is just….just this close to bursting out into a maniacal laughter due to the way Desiree was looking at her dad….
