“I saw him….my babies daddy” Janella finally spoke out, and Big Momma’s breath ceased for a moment.
“You’ve got to be kidding me, Janella. What?! Are you sure he’s the one you saw?” Big Momma asked keenly, not believing what she just heard Janella say at all.
“I am not stūpid, Big Momma, I know he’s the one” Janella replied, amidst sobs.
“Oh goodness gracious!! What in the world is all this? Just what is going on?!” Big Momma yelled at no one in particular, feeling really sorry for poor Janella.
This same girl here, passed out yesterday due to the shock she got, and has been asked by the Doctor to not stress herself anymore. Why does this have to happen again?
“What’s going on, grandma?” Abbey who just heard the noise from her room, rushed out immediately to come know what was happening.
“Oh my gosh! Janella?! Why….what happened? Sh|t! Why are you crying again?
I thought you and Jerome went out….why….”
“Your sister found the father of her kids in Jerome’s phone” Big Momma told her immediately.
“Wait, what?! She what? So….gosh! This is becoming too hectic already” Abbey threw her hands in the air in frustratiion.
“Sis, did you ask him any question? I mean, Jerome, did you ask him who that person is to him?” Abbey asked as she helped Janella to sit down on the couch, gently.
“I couldn’t….I am tired of all this, Big Momma” Janella sobbed hard.
“I want to be alone in my room, please” She then said, and got up immediately, rushing to her room and shutting the door after her.
“I don’t even know what to say nor think anymore, to be sincere” Big Momma said, putting her both hands on her cheeks as she put her head down.
“OMG!” Abbey exclaimed inwardly.
°°° THE MEYERS’ MANSION ～☆
“Hey, baby bro” Bianca said as Jerome trudged into the living room, tiredly and plonked on the couch next to Bianca.
“How are you? Why do you look so stressed, worn out, and all that?” Bianca asked, concerned, as she turned to face Jerome well with a worried look on her face.
Jerome could only sigh.
That sudden behavior Janella showcased is really kîlling him….bádly!
She has never acted that way before, ever! Even when they had not started dating, Janella has never behaved in such a way that he’s still so puzzled by it.
Did he say anything bãd to warrant such sudden behavior of hers?
He couldn’t even get to tell her what he wanted to tell her! If he did, he would have guessed that it’s because of what he said. But he couldn’t say anything before that call came in.
F*ck!!
Did her sister truly call her like she said? But why did she leave like that even if her sister did call?
Oh no! What if something serious has happened to her grandmother that made her leave in such a haste?
He has to call her right now! But….not here, maybe when he gets home.
He still hasn’t told his mom, nor his sister about what has been going on recently, not even about his health.
Anyway, Jerome didn’t give any reply to Bianca’s question. He just sat still, his head up and was just staring into space.
“Jerome? What is the matter? What is really going on with you lately?”
“It’s not like I have a problem with you bringing my grandchild to stay with me everyday, but this is unlike you.
The Jerome I know hardly allow his daughter spend even an hour with us….”
“Mom! I am okay. Maybe I just need some alone times these days, just to think about my life….just to think about all the Sh|t that has been happening in my life, maybe!”
“I look this stressed, and worn out because I hardly sleep well. I still haven’t found solutions to my problems, and it’s draining me the hell out! Don’t you think I need alone times, mom?….”Jerome asked, his voice a little bit loud.
“Of course you do, baby. You sure need alone times, but I know you don’t really have those alone times you’re talking about, Jerome. You don’t even use this opportunity of Desiree being away from you to rest, you don’t!” Mrs. Meyers replied immediately, and Jerome could only ruffle his hair in so much frustration.
“I honestly do not know what is going on that you and your daughter’s nanny have been going out so much lately….”
“She is not just his daughter’s nanny, mom. She’s his girlfriend” Bianca cut in immediately.
“What? You see what I’m saying?!!
I am being kept in the dark now, no one tells me anything anymore. I just keep asking too many questions, making me look like I’m nagging….”
“It skipped my mind, mom. It’s been in my mind to tell you that your son has finally fallen in love with someone. Sorry….”
“And you know I have been waiting for this for long now, Bianca. How could you not….”
“I just said it skipped my mind, mom….gosh!” Bianca shook her head, grunting.
Jerome just stayed mute, and still wasn’t saying anything. He just kept watching them blankly while they argued with each other.
“You should never let your mind skip important things like this, Bianca….never” Mrs. Meyers said and Bianca chuckled.
She got up and went to sit with Jerome.
“Everything is going to be alright, my love, okay? Just stop stressing yourself too much, please” Mrs. Meyers said calmly.
“Does she…. know about your health? Did you tell her?” She suddenly asked, eagerly waiting for an answer.
“She knows” Jerome replied simply, just acting along by not giving any of them any hint that he is cancer free, or actually knows the truth about his health.
He feels bàd for doing this, though. Especially to the two most important people in his family. He feels really bad that they are still yet to know that he is cancer free, and everything else that has been happening that they are also yet to know.
But at this point, he can’t trust anyone, not even his precious and sweet mother. No, he doesn’t trust anyone at all until he finds out who has been tormenting him.
The fact that Doctor Mark said it is “someone close to him than he can ever imagine”, makes him even more scared of trusting anyone.
As crazy and absurd as it may sound, he trusts Janella more than his sister, and even his mom who bore him, and has known them all his life.
Crazy, right?
But it is what it is. And he feels he can trust Janella at anytime, and anywhere more than he can trust anyone else.
“I am so happy for you, my son. I am happy you let go of that fear, and you were bold enough to tell her about your health condition, and I am more happy that she stayed even after hearing about your health issue. This is what I have been waiting for these whole years” Mrs. Meyers said, hugging Jerome who hugged her back immediately.
Anyway, while they hugged, she remembered something and frowned softly, detaching from the hug, gently.
“When last did you go to the Office, Jerome?” She asked, calmly.
Bianca immediately looked at her, wondering why she asked that. Even Jerome wondered why.
“I went there this morning before coming here” Jerome replied, simply.
Even though it is Sunday, he actually went to the company to do some small work.
“Okay. Apart from today that you just went, when last did you go there?” Mrs. Meyers asked again.
“Three days ago” Jerome replied, and Mrs. Meyers frowned immediately.
“Are you serious?” She asked, seriously.
“Yes, mom , why are you asking me this?”
“Yes, mom, why are you asking him such a question with such a frown?” Bianca asked, curiously.
“I don’t want to….”
“Aunt B” Desiree called Bianca, momentarily as she rushed into the living room with a maid who was watching her play with her toys in her playhouse; she actually has one here too which her aunt bought for her, and it’s in one of the free rooms in the mansion.
“Yah, Daddy!” Desiree then called when she saw her dad.
A big smile plastered on Jerome’s face immediately he saw his daughter.
“Hey, hey! Look who’s here….daddy’s little princess” Jerome chuckled out as he got up and opened his arms wide, inviting Desiree to come in for a hug.
Desiree giggled cutely, taking short fast steps as she began to scuttle to her dad.
“Yah! Daddy caught me” Desiree exclaimed, throwing her small hands in the air as Jerome picked her up and spun her around a little.
“I missed you, daddy” Desiree said, lowering her head to kiss Jerome’s nose which melted his heart so much even though it wasn’t her first time of doing it.
But right then, his heart felt like it was placed on a cold sustance, cooling both his heart and body.
“I missed you more, my rare gem” Jerome replied, kissing her forehead, and she smiled wide, exposing her fine dentition.
“Aww, I think it’s time I get married and start having babies” Bianca gushed seriously as she watched Jerome and his daughter.
“Thank you Lord for answering my prayers” Mrs. Meyers immediately said, when she heard what Bianca just said.
“And she’s gonna start now. Geez! I only said “I think it’s time”, I didn’t say I was getting married soon” Bianca replied, rolling eyes.
“At least you still remember that you’re a woman, and are yet to get married” Mrs. Meyers said, making them, including Jerome to laugh.
“I have to go now, mom and sis. I got a lot to do at home” Jerome informed. After having a little more talk with them, he left with his daughter.
°°° BIG MOMMA’S HOME °°° EVENING～☆
Janella can be seen quietly laying in her bed. She isn’t sleeping, she’s just there thinking about who she saw in Jerome’s phone.
Her eyes are so swollen from all the cries she’s been crying lately, and hasn’t been having a good sleep as well.
As much as this is a very big and good news to her, she also wouldn’t forgive him, never!
And just what if he’s Jerome’s brother or friend?
Oh f*cking Sh|t! If he happens to be one of those, especially if it turns out to be Jerome’s brother.
This will greatly affect their relationship, and they might end up breaking up, because why not?
Gosh! She doesn’t even want to imagine it.
Dammit!!!
Come to think of it, why does Jerome have the same….
Janella’s phone began to ring before she could think more about what was going through in her mind.
It’s Jerome calling!
This is the third time he’s calling today to check on her, but it’s a video call this time because he misses her, and wants to see her face, likewise Desiree.
“How are you, Baby?” He asked immediately her face came to view, and Janella gave him a positive reply, but in a low tone.
“Are you sure you’re alright? Why is your voice so low? And your eyes swollen, have you been crying again?” Jerome asked with concern and worry.
“I am fine, Babes….I just woke up from sleep” Janella lied, but Jerome thought to just let it go, even though he knew she was just making it up. He didn’t want to pester her too much, since she’s been stressed too much lately.
“Desiree misses you, and wants to talk and see you as well. Baby girl….Miss Ella is on the phone, come see her” Jerome informed the little girl, and she left what she was doing immediately to come see her Miss Ella.
“Hi, Miss Ella…. I miss you so much” Desiree’s tiny voice sounded, and that got Janella smiling hard, after a long day of not smiling at all.
“Don’t you want to be my nanny anymore, Miss Ella? Because you’ve been tricking me so much by not coming back with daddy like you always promise. I’ve been feeling lonely because you no longer come to play with me and make me laugh like you used to. Please don’t stop being my nanny, Miss Ella. I love you so much as I love daddy” Desiree said, and Janella didn’t know tears were rushing out of her eyes until she blinked, and they came rushing down her cheeks.
“Aww, my little princess. I don’t want to stop being your nanny, okay? It’s… Just that Miss Ella has really been occupied lately, that’s why she doesn’t have much time to spend with you anymore. But I promise to never trick you again, and I still haven’t forgotten about our sleepover, little Dee. I think that’s where I am going to start apologizing from” Janella told her, and she screamed a big “yah!!”, going back to what she was doing.
“Thank you, Janella” Jerome said, and she just smiled.
“Okay. So, Nurse Angela said we should go to the orphanage tomorrow morning, are you ready?” Jerome asked the already answered question because Janella is ever ready.
“Are you kidding, JJ? Of course I’m ready” Janella replied, sitting up this time, and Jerome couldn’t help but to chuckle lowly.
°° NURSE ANGELA’S HOME °°°NIGHT ～☆
Nurse sighed immediately she halted her car in front of her apartment.
“What a hectic day?” She sighed out again, rubbing her forehead, softly for a moment as she just laid back on her car seat to rest a little.
Getting out of her car later on, she picked the necessary items up. Including her Nurse outfit and phone, then went out of the car, shutting the door and locking the car afterwards.
As she began to walk, which she barely took five steps away from her car. Nurse Angela felt someone walking behind her. She immediately turned, but found no one.
Taking a deep breath, she continued to walk, heading to her door, but she had that same feeling again that someone was following her.
In fear, and with her heart that started to beat fast, she tried to turn again to see who was following her, but her mouth was momentarily covered, causing her to instantly start fighting for her breath.
She began to struggle hard, and everything she held in her both hands, all fell off.
“Help!” She tried to scream under the piece of cloth that was covering her mouth, due to that, her voice wasn’t loud enough for anyone to hear.
It was dark already, and no one could be seen around.
Left with no choice, Nurse Angela kept struggling to free herself from the person, but of course her strength was no match for the unknown person.
With an idea that just popped in her head, Nurse Angela immediately made a tight and strong fist, which she targeted the person’s groin; yes, it was a guy.
She hit him hard there, and he groaned out a little in pain, but the pain only lasted for seconds.
He began to go after Nurse Angela who was already making her escape.
She hadn’t reached anywhere, when she got caught, and was being dragged away.
“Help me!!” She screamed again, and just when she thought the person has succeeded in getting her. A huge masculine guy appeared and punched the guy, making him let go of Nurse Angela.
They were actually two of the huge guys though.
The assassin groaned out again, and he received another punch before punching the huge guy too.
The other huge guy had already grabbed Nurse Angela for protection.
They are actually among Jerome’s tough body guards, and he’s the one who sent them to come protect Nurse Angela as if he knew this was going to happen.
However, the fight between the other huge guy whose name happens to be Alex, continued seriously.
While they fought, Alex’s aim was to take off the mask of whom he was fighting with to see his face, but he never got the chance though, because the assassin was as good as himself.
“Who the f*cking hell are you, d_1ck?!” Alex’s big and scary voice echoed.
“Your worst nightmare” The guy answered, throwing a kick at Alex, which got him, but he sent his own too immediately.
However, Alex instantly frowned, his heart shockingly thumped in his chest when he heard the voice of the person.
What the f*ck?!!
Wasn’t that….B….Goddamit!!
While he was still trying to process that, the masked guy brought out his gun and without wasting a second, he aimed for Nurse Angela who was still with the other guy.
Before Alex could try to fight, he already shot the bullet out, but thankfully, the guy who was with Nurse Angela took the bullet instead.
Jerome had warned them both to not let anything happen to Nurse Angela, so he dared not allow the bullet hit her.
However, the bullet was fired on his shoulder, so he only groaned out in little pain, and still continued to protect Nurse Angela, despite.
Meanwhile, the masked guy immediately left the scenery with his power bike, the moment he shot the gun.
Alex tried to chase him with the car they came with, but couldn’t get him. So he escaped him.
°°° ORPHANAGE HOME °°° NEXT DAY MONDAY MORNING ～☆
Jerome’s car halted right in front of the gate of the orphanage home, and they began to come out.
Nurse Angela had to take permission from work just so she could bring them here, and she told them what almost happened to her last night.
Jerome’s body guard who got shot, got treated by Nurse Angela that yesterday night, and he’s fine now. Though he visited the hospital again for a proper treatment by the doctor.
Abbey is here with them too.
However, Jerome curved his brows a little when they arrived the orphanage because he knew the place.
“I know this place” He smiled a little as he held Janella’s hand, rubbing it with his thump as they began to walk in.
They began to see kids around as they walked further; little ones who didn’t go to school though.
“Nurse Angela” A very beautiful young lady called, the moment they walked in and she sighted them.
“Oh, hi Mr. Meyer. It’s good to see you again” She smiled hard as she turned to Jerome in surprise.
“I hope everything is alright, with this surprise visit” Lady K (the young lady), asked.
“Absolutely” Jerome replied and she smiled.
They continued to walk until they reached the owner of the orphanage’s home office, and they went in immediately.
She welcomed them all, and they got talking (The woman and Jerome) especially, because he knows him very well, and was also surprised to see him even though they visited the adopted kids home once in a while.
“Actually, we came here….
Nurse Angela explained to the woman, and told her the day, month and year she brought in a Baby girl here.
Turning to look at Janella, she told her that Janella is the mother of the twin baby she brought here that year, and even the other twin she brought some days ago to stay here.
She went further to ask about the family that adopted her, and the woman frowned a little.
“She was adopted by the Meyers, and that’s her Dad” The woman said, and Janella turned immediately to look at Jerome….all of them.
Even Jerome turned to look at himself.
Janella’s heart instantly began to thump loudy and her hands became sweaty.
“Ma’am, are you sure she’s the same little girl we are talking about?” Nurse Angela asked, smiling awkwardly.
The woman chuckled, and brought out her phone to show them the baby’s photo, and it was a photo of Desiree when she was still a very little Baby, but her face was still very much the same.
Janella’s eyes almost left thier sockets. She held her mouth instantly, and again, her hands began to shake. In fact, her whole body began to shake and she….
~Desiree was adopted, but I found out she’s my actual daughter after running a DNA test…. ~
~But I still don’t know how she’s my daughter, neither do I know who her mom is. That is a very big puzzle I am still yet to solve ~
As Janella began to remember those things Jerome told her, she burst out….she was unable to hold it.
She instantly grabbed Jerome’s phone, unlocked it quickly, with tears blinding her eyes. She went straight to his gallery and opened that same photo.
“Who is this, Jerome?” She asked, and tears began to rush down Jerome’s face before he knew it, though he was still confused. But that photo of him before, made him to start shedding tears.
“That….that was me before my face surgery” He said it, blankly and Janella gasped, staggering many times, and her breath hitched.
“It’s you….you’re the same Jerome…. Now I get why you have the same name and voice.
“It’s you….the same Jerome…. ah!!” Janella covered her mouth, trying to stop herself from crying out loudly, but no!
She couldn’t!!
“Jerome!!” She called loudly and ran out of the office, crying madly.
“Janella!!” Jerome began to run after her.
