CHAPTER 09 & 10•••••••
“Luciano Khan Pavarotti….nice to meet you again…oh? Nice to meet your girl too! ” A dangerous looking man uttered, coolly.
Emily took a step back in fear but Luciano grasped her hand, pulling her behind him.
“Leave the poor lady out of this and face me Mattias” Luciano uttered, coldly.
The dangerous looking man known as Mattias let out a dry scoff.
“You don’t tell me what to do Luciano, Get the girl! ” Mattias snapped.
Mattias men pointed their guns at Luciano, Luciano pulled Emily down and they ducked under the chair, they both crawled until they got outside.
“Here, hold this and pull the trigger when you sight any of Mattias men” Luciano uttered and shoved a gun into Emily’s hand.
Emily held the gun, her palm sweaty and shaky.
“Mr….gangster…i…i don’t think you got my point…i promised myself that I won’t sin against God, I was just asking him for mercy before–
“There’s no f*cking time for that, just stay hidden first a while I deal with ’em” Luciano uttered, seriously and scurried off.
Emily quickly entered into a small building and shut the door, she flinched when she saw Reverend Mordecai hiding beside a shelf.
“Ugh? Reverend father…you’re also here? ” Emily asked, surprised.
Reverend father busted into tears,
“Those guys are scary and I don’t wish to die yet…! ” He cried out.
Emily sighed and sat down beside him….

Luciano shot at Mattias men and ducked behind his car,
“F*ck!” He cussed when he saw that his own men weren’t here with him.
He came out again and started shooting at some of Mattias men, he searched for Mattias with his eyes but couldn’t find him,
“Emily ” He muttered and brought out another of his gun as he shot at Mattias men.
Meanwhile, Emily remained hidden inside the room. Suddenly the door burst open and Mattias strode in and pulled Emily out of her hiding place.
Reverend Mordecai flinched and almost had a heart attack.
“Let me go!! Leave me alone!! ” Emily yelled and struggled against him but he pulled her outside, roughly.
“Keep your f*cking mouth shut Bîtch!!” Mattias snarled and gripped her hair tight,
Emily hissed in pain and whimpered. Mattias pulled her to the battlefield, pointing a gun at her head.
Fear gripped Emily and she began to sob,
“Please…don’t…i don’t want to die! ” Emily sobbed.
“Surrender or watch as I blow up her f*cking brains! ” Mattias muttered with an evil grin.
Luciano glanced between Emily and Mattias, he lowered his gun, slowly.
He was about to drop it on the ground but swiftly pulled the trigger which
caught Mattias unaware, the bullet hit Mattias on his leg and he groaned in pain and let go of Emily.
Emily quickly ran and hid behind a car as she shook vigorously.
She glanced behind her and saw one of Mattias men but he was dead, many bullets were inside his stomach giving him holes.
“Ahh!! ” Emily shrieked in fear and almost stood up from the ground.
“What is it Emily??! ” Luciano called out from where he was shooting at Mattias men.
“Ah….it’s a…a…a dead…body.. Oh God..!” Emily sobbed out.
“Just stay there I’ll come get you” Luciano ordered.
Emily did the cross sign on her chest and shut her eyes, her lips trembling.
“T…the…lord is my….my shepherd…i…i
shall not want….i..i just saw…a dead body…i…i shall…not eat….i… ” Emily stammered, fearfully and was even uttering some nonsense due to fear.
She mistakenly opened her eyes and saw the dead man’s eyes snapped open,
“Ahhh! ” Emily shrieked and was about to stand up when the man’s hand held her leg, pulling her back and she fell on top of him.
Emily quickly fought him off her and stood up as she left the man’s sight, she came out from her hiding place,
“Emily just stay where you are! ” Luciano yelled but Emily who was already eaten up by fear ignored him.
At the same time, Luciano’s men arrived. They hurriedly got out of the car,
“Boss! ” Scorpion called out running to where Luciano was.
“Get Emily out of here first! ” Luciano commanded.
Without thinking, Emily ran to where Luciano was, one of Mattias men sighted Emily and pointed his gun at her, Luciano saw him and his eyes widened,
“Emily no!! ” He yelled.
A loud gunshot was heard and Emily froze, she suddenly felt someone wrapped his arms around her waist,
The bullet met with Luciano’s arm and he shut his eyes.. Emily’s eyes widened and she quickly turned and faced him, she
took her hand to his back and to his arm. She touched a liquid and she gazed at her palm, slowly.
A red liquid?? No…it’s actually called… blood. He took the bullet for her…?
“F*ck boss!! ” Scorpion and some of Luciano’s men called and ran to where he was.
Mattias limped towards his car and got in,
“Retreat, retreat!! ” Mattias yelled and roared the engine to life.
He slammed his palm hard on the steering wheel,
“F*ck!!” He cussed and drove off out of the vicinity, roughly.
His men also drove off leaving Luciano and his men behind.

Emily was seated inside the car as she sobbed,
“A…Am so sorry…i wouldn’t have ran to meet you…it’s all my fault ” Emily sobbed.
Luciano ignored her as he held his bleeding arm tight, his breathing was rough and heavy.
He pressed his arm and groaned in pain,
“Mr please start the car, we have to take him to the hospital! ” Emily yelled at Scorpion.
Scorpion glanced at Emily and scoffed,
“Last I remember, you’re the cause of all this Sh|t so keep your f*cking mouth shut! ” Scorpion spoke dangerously and Emily flinched.
“Scorpion.. ” Luciano called, giving him a warning glare.
Scorpion bowed his head,
“Sorry…boss ” He muttered, lowly.
Luciano dipped his hand into the his arm where the bullet pierced him as blood dripped down his arm.
“Oh gosh…what are you trying to do?! you’re hurting yourself the more! ” Emily cried out but Luciano ignored her.
He dipped his hand more into the hole and held the bullet as he brought it out in a go.
He let out a sharp intake of breathe and took a bottle of alcohol, opened it and poured it on the wound.
“Ah.. Hmm..! ” Luciano groaned, he took a cigar, lit it and smoked from it furiously.
“How can you smoke when you’re injured? it’s dangerous! ” Emily uttered, worriedly.
“Drive… ” Luciano muttered, softly. His eyes tightly shut as he breathe, tiredly.
Emily gazed at him and sniffed.
Soon the car stopped at Luciano’s residence, Luciano opened the door and got out, Emily quickly opened hers and trailed behind him,
“Sorry Mr…but you have to see a doctor, you’re bleeding! ” Emily uttered.
Luciano ignored her, he got into the sitting room and strode towards his room, she tried to follow him but two huge and bulky men blocked her path.
“Sorry little miss but you can’t go in” One of them uttered, coldly.
Emily sniffed,
“But he’s injured and bleeding! ” Emily retorted.
“Am afraid if you go in, you might come back with only your legs and hands. The big boss is angry right now” One of them uttered, icily.
Emily shivered in fear and glanced at the place he entered, she sighed and left.

Luciano got into his room and smashed some bottles of drinks on the wall in anger.
He slammed his palm on the big table, hard.
“How the F*ck did Luciano knew that Emily was in the Catholic?! Who f*cking gave him information?! F*ck!” Luciano roared and cussed.
Luciano’s men were all on their knees, their heads bowed.
“Who the f*ck told’ em?!” Luciano roared and a man rose up,
“Boss…i think they’ve been watching her…because she’s always been seen around you. And I will suggest you stay
far away from that girl…else she will be the cause of your downfall ” The man retorted fearfully. Suddenly, a loud gunshot was heard and the man dropped dead on the floor.
“Everyone get out, Scorpion wait behind ” Luciano muttered, coldly and smoked from his cigar stick, furiously.
They all left, leaving Scorpion behind.
“A spy is among us… Who might that be? ” Luciano asked, dryly.
“I have no idea boss but…maybe we’ll catch the spy soon” Scorpion uttered, seriously.
“Go after Emily and take her home safely….some of my enemies are after her” Luciano retorted, dryly.
“Boss…why not just let her go…since she means nothing to you…? ” Scorpion uttered, thoughtfully.
Luciano butt his cigar on the ashtray and let out a dry chuckle,
“Go after her and don’t try any Sh|t with
her” Luciano uttered, lazily ignoring Scorpion’s statement, he strode into the bathroom.
Scorpion sighed and left the room.

Emily stood by the road side deep in thought, she felt like going back to see how Luciano is doing. After all he got shot because of her.
Is he okay? Is he still bleeding? Is he still in pain? Is he–
The loud honking sound of a car was heard and Emily was snapped back to reality.
The owner of the car whined down the glass and Emily glanced at the person,
“Scor…pion? ” Emily muttered and shivered in fear because of how cold and dark his face was.
“Get in, Boss Luciano ordered me to take you home” Scorpion uttered, coldly.
Emily shook her head, slowly.
“A..Am sorry Mr but I can go back home myself… Thanks ” Emily stuttered, nervously.
“Get into the f*cking car and don’t waste my f*cking time! ” Scorpion snarled.
Emily swallowed and opened the car, she got in and shut the door hard.
Scorpion drove off, roughly out of the vicinity.
The car came to a halt at Brooklyn College, Emily was about to open the door when Scorpion grasped her hand tight.
Emily yelped because of how hard and tight he held her hand, she’s sure that it would leave a bruise.
“Why are you always coming around my boss? who sent you and what do you want from him?! ” Scorpion asked, coldly. His tone low and dangerous.
“No one sent me…and..and I don’t want anything from him…ouch my hand…it hurts” Emily uttered and whimpered in pain.
“You’re a liar! My boss got shot because of you! Who sent you?! Is it Mattias? Alejandro? Eduardo? Speak out! ” Scorpion snarled, intimidatedly.
Emily began to sob,
“I don’t know what you’re saying, let go of my hand!! ” Emily screamed and snatched her hand from his hold.
“How brave… ” Scorpion uttered and smirked.
“Hope you know that hurting your boss’s girl is a crime…and he might kill you since you’re just nothing but a right hand man” Emily retorted, coldly and scoffed. She didn’t know when that statement left her mouth
Her statement angered Scorpion and he pressed her on the car seat in a rough way.
“Shut your tiny mouth girl! Do you really think that you can be our boss’s girl? You’re no match for it because you’re to weak, frail and gullible, you’re just a crybaby
so go meet your mama for a Brë@št milk” Scorpion spat out venomously and pushed the car door open.
Emily pushed him off her and got down from the car, the door went shut and Scorpion drove the car out of the vicinity.
Emily stared at the zooming car and turned, she strode into the school building.

Emily sat down on the floor as deep in thought, she chewed on her bottom lip and sighed.
She took her phone and dialed Luciano’s line but he wasn’t picking up,
“Is he still mad at me? ” Emily mumbled to herself and pouted her lips.
But wait? Is he really okay? She wanted to know how his health was at least, then maybe she would stop bothering herself about him.
Emily thought and sighed.
She stood up and took her bag, she took out a bottle of pills, she took two and threw it into her mouth,
Ever since she got into depression, she has been taking depression pills, like for years now..
Leslie threw her door open and poked her big head in, she walked in without asking for permission, a cigar stick in her hand as she smoked from it and puffed out smoke from her nostrils.
Emily glared at her and scoffed,
Like seriously? So Leslie has started taking smoke?
“What’s up Bîtch, I love the way mama screamed at you yesterday, like I really enjoyed it seeing those innocent and tearful look in your eyes” Leslie retorted, coolly and giggled.
Emily raised a brow and ignored Leslie,
“I had to call her to come over, like I mean why the f*ck will you just walk
outta home and to a man’s house, you guys f*cked each other right? ” Leslie asked, sarcastically.
Emily rolled her eyes, she took her headphone and plugged it into her ears, her action made Leslie angry and she snatched the phone from Emily’s hand and threw it on the floor.
Emily’s eyes widened and she got up from the floor, slowly.
She gazed at the phone which was on the floor and took her gaze to Leslie,
Leslie released an evil smirk, without thinking, Emily’s fist met with Leslie’s cheek…..

“Like seriously?! you just punched your f*cking sister! don’t you feel remorse?” Jesse snapped at Emily.
Leslie was seated on the couch as she sobbed, her hand on her swollen cheek.
“Holy girl apologize to Leslie now! ” Mabel retorted, rudely.
Emily glared at Leslie, she walked to where Leslie sat and gazed at her coldly,
“I really didn’t punch you hard but next time I’ll make sure i make you toothless” Emily retorted, dryly and left for her room.
Leslie glared at Emily’s retreating and screamed,
“That Bîtch!!” Leslie screamed in anger.
Ashley chuckled and rocked Leslie’s back,
“Your sister is becoming a badass slowly ” Ashley retorted and smirked.
“What will my boyfriend think of me now…i look so ugly with this swollen cheek!” Leslie sobbed….

Emily glanced at her phone screen and sighed,
“Thank God It didn’t leave a crack” Emily mumbled, softly.
Her window creaked open and Emily flinched, she glanced at the window and Andrea came into view as she jumped down from the window.
“My goodness…you scared me! ” Emily shrieked.
Andrea laughed and fell on Emily’s bed as she sprawled her hands on the bed.
“Wow…your bed is so soft and warm! ” Andrea giggled.
Emily chuckled,
“Well I think I saw my sister and her boyfriend having hot sëx on that same bed” Emily uttered, lazily.
Andrea snapped her head up and jumped down from the bed,
“The f*ck! Why didn’t you tell me earlier?! Geez! ” Andrea snapped and hissed.
Emily chuckled, Andrea joined her on the floor,
“What happened, your sister’s been missing lectures…it’s bad” Andrea retorted, coolly.
“Not like I care, I gat my own life to live” Emily mumbled.
“Have you heard?! A pool party is coming up!” Andrea shrieked, excitedly.
“Really? who’s throwing the party? ” Emily asked, lazily clearly not interested.
“It’s my course mate, I surely won’t miss that Sh|t!” Andrea shrieked, happily.
“Geez you’re too loud, bring your voice down else Leslie might barge in” Emily muttered and Andrea smiled.
“So tell me darling…Do you have a boyfriend? ” Andrea asked curiously, ready for gossip.
“No…am still single ” Emily mumbled, awkwardly.
Andrea frowned,
“Are you serious?! you’re 21 Emily!! ” Andrea shrieked and Emily blocked her ears.
“Com’on! you probably wanna grow old without a man?! you don’t wanna watch your husband grow old with you
and your children growing up into the beautiful species and creature they would be?! ” Andrea retorted, seriously.
Emily frowned,
Like seriously? Species and creature??
“Or wait?!! you only wanna watch your B@@b’s grow old with you as they fall so flat changing from round to long?! ” Andrea retorted, curiously and Emily choked, her eyes widened.
“Geez! that’s disgusting! ” Emily snapped and chuckled.
Andrea smiled.
“Well I really need to head home, need to see my boyfriend. We haven’t f*ck in a while ” Andrea retorted, lazily and stood up.
“You guys do have sëx? ” Emily uttered, surprised.
“Of course…and am dating one of the richest mafia boss! He’s so cute and sëxy as hell and so so good on bed!! ” Andrea shrieked, excitedly.
Emily blinked, rapidly.
“Ugh? You’re dating a mafia boss? Andrea that’s dangerous, they’re dangerous! ” Emily retorted, seriously.
“Who cares, he can’t hurt me you know, as long as he’s a mafia boss then am safe in his hands ” Andrea retorted, softly and sat down beside Emily.
“But…i heard that before you become a Mafia’s woman you will have to make an…oath” Emily muttered, seriously.
Andrea sighed, she paused her lips.
“As long as you’re with them, you’re bounded with them forever. You’ll
make an oath…an oath of silence and they would still draw the omerta tattoo on any part of your body. ” Andrea retorted, seriously.
“Omerta? What does it mean? ” Emily asked, curiously.
“It means code of silence, honor and no going back. If you dare tell anyone about their criminal act or any of the things happening in the mafia world
then you’re dead, they won’t think twice before killing you ” Andrea spoke seriously.
“C…Can i see the code of silence..tattoo? ” Emily stuttered.
Andrea raised her crop top up and Emily saw a head of a skeleton which placed its hand on it mouth as though
it was telling her to keep her mouth shut. And the word OMERTA was written on its head.
“I..It’s quite scary ” Emily mumbled, her voice was barely audible.
Andrea brought down her top and smirked,
“You should try it out too don’t worry I’ll get you a mafia boyfriend ” Andrea retorted and laughed.
Emily chuckled nervously and frowned.
“Thank you honey but I ain’t interested” Emily muttered.
“So you haven’t met any of ’em before? you haven’t come in contact with the mafia lords? ” Andrea asked, surprised and Emily shook her head sideways.
“Well I think that’s because of your long skirts! it’s not attractive at all! how will you get married if you don’t dress a little bit sëxy! ” Andrea retorted and rolled her eyes.
“I think I’d prefer my normal choice of dressing ” Emily uttered, coolly.
Andrea shook her head, she bent and pecked Emily on her forehead,
“See ya later baby sis! ” Andrea pouted and dashed towards the window, she climbed and Emily waved at her.
“Bye baby! have to go see Eduardo!” Andrea uttered and jumped out of the window..
Emily sat down on the floor, confused.
Eduardo??? She’s heard of that name somewhere but where??
Yes it was scorpion! When he had asked her who sent her, he did mentioned Eduardo too..?
“Well I pray never to meet any of those mafia lords. Even if I meet them I won’t ever fall in love with them, how
will I fall in love with a criminal? ” Emily mumbled to herself and huffed.
