CHAPTER 25➿26
★JENKIN’S HOUSE≈JORDAN’S ROOM≈NEXT MORNING★
He stirred from his bed before he finally opened his eyes and he squinted his eyes when a sudden headache hit him, he sat up from his bed with difficulty holding his head hoping it will relieve the massive migraine he’s having.
His mind suddenly went back to what happened yesterday and he sighed
★FLASHBACK★
“I’m sure she’s on her way” he muttered trembling badly. It was 6:30pm already, he has been standing inside the rain for almost an hour already. He grabbed his phone and sent her a message but she didn’t reply, he sent another one, same thing, he fixed his phone back inside his pocket.
“I don’t think she’s coming anymore” he muttered and removed his phone from his pocket, he grabbed it with shaky hands, due to the rain, he was having a hard time to dial his sister’s number, but after a while, he succeeded, he clicked on her number and she picked up after few rings
“Hey Dan, it’s raining, get a cab and start coming home immediately, remember what the doctor said the last time, too much cold isn’t good for your body, I don’t want you to land in the hospital again” Alaina said
“Sis, can— y–o-u please…..co…come….pi…pic…pick….me up? Jordan stuttered with trembling voice
“What’s wrong with your voice? Are you okay? Alaina asked hurriedly
“I’m at FREEWAY CINEMA, just come please” he said and he could hear sound of keys jingling before his phone died
“Füçk” he muttered and squatted on the ground with his hands on his thighs expecting his sister. Few minutes later, a car stopped in front of him and Alaina stepped out with an umbrella running to him
“What the Füçk”
“You are drenched badly, I told you to start coming, why didn’t you listen and you couldn’t even find any shelter around to stay, what the hell is wrong with you” Alaina said angrily
“I’m sorry sis” he muttered before dropping to the floor and his eyelashes kissed his cheek immediately, he passed out
“No…no…Dan…Jordan” Alaina screamed fearfully, she dropped the umbrella and grabbed him, she hanged his arms around her neck and started taking him to the car, she dropped him on the backseat before walking back to take the umbrella, she entered the driver’s seat and drove off immediately.
★PRESENT TIME★
He sighed and sweeped his hair to the back, his eyes moved to the alarm beside him and he gasped when he saw the time, he’s supposed to be in school by 8:00am and it’s 8:45 already, he stood up hurriedly and grabbed his towel heading to the bathroom, he came out minutes later, that was the fastest bath he had evert bath in his life, he dressed up in his school uniform and combed his hair, he grabbed his bags before rushing out of his room.
He met everyone at the dining and they turned their heads towards him
“Good morning” he greeted, his parents replied his greetings except for Alaina and he sighed, he expected that already
“You don’t have to go to school today, just stay home and rest” His dad said
“I’m fine, I can’t miss lectures” he said, he was about sitting beside Alaina but she stood up immediately
“I’m done, see you guys in the evening” she said and grabbed her car keys
“Sis” Jordan called but she ignored him and walked out of the house, he sighed and his dad pat his back
“She will come around” he said and he nodded
“I will start leaving now” he said and stood up
“Are you sure you really want to go, your face looks so pale” his mum said worriedly
“I will be fine mum, I’m strong yunno” he smiled and pecked their cheeks before walking out of the house also, he met his driver outside and he opened the door for him to enter, they are not that rich but they are living comfortably.
★WILKERSON HIGHSCHOOL≈9:20AM★
He stepped out of the car, he looked around but no single soul was passing, everyone is in class already, he quickened his steps heading to his class, he could hear the teacher’s voice echoing in the hall, he sighed before opening the door and he stepped inside, everyone turned their heads towards his direction immediately. One thing he h@tës is been the center of attention
“What happened Jordan?” Miss Evelyn asked
“Something came up ma, it won’t happen again” he said and his eyes landed on Arielle but he moved his eyes away immediately making her wonder why
“Are you okay? You don’t look okay to me” miss Evelyn said
“I’m fine miss, just tired” he said with a little smile and she nodded giving him permission to sit, he walked to his seat and everyone’s eyes kept following him
“Okay, you all can stop staring at him now, let’s continue” Miss Evelyn said and they diverted their attention towards her immediately
“You look pale, are you sick?” Jimmie asked when he settled down
“I’m fine man” Jordan muttered.
★CITRUS ENTERPRISES★
“Boss…” Waylon secretary rushed into his office and Waylon flashes his face in anger at her
“I’m sorry boss, something came up that’s why” She said breathing heavily
“What is it?” he asked resting his back on the chair, staring directly at her
“It’s… it’s….” she stammered
“It’s what Sophie?” he asked again getting bored already
“The investor from france” she said and Waylon sat up immediately
“Is he coming to our company? You should have told me since, I didn’t prepare anything, you know what you will do now…..” he was still saying but Sophie cut him short
“He’s not coming here sir, the headline just posted it now that he already made a deal with WILKERSON ENTERPRISES” She dropped the bomb and Waylon’s eyes widened
“Repeat what you said” he said calmly
“He made a deal with Mr Angelo” she said again and Waylon poured everything on his table down, he threw his laptop angrily at the wall and it shattered
“Calm down boss” Sophie said moving backwards
“Angelo…!!!!” he called gritting his teeth angrily and tightening his fist, he suddenly grabbed his suit and started rushing out of his office and Sophie ran after him immediately.
★WILKERSON HIGHSCHOOL≈CAFETERIA★
“That movie was so funny” Lexi laughed and Mikaela joined her
“Did you see the part he crawled under the bed only to meet her there?” Mikaela asked
“Gosh!! That part” Lexi said and they started another round of laughter. Mikaela eyes suddenly landed on Arielle who was staring into space oblivious of what was happening around her
“Hey…. Arielle…..Ari” Mikaela called and she snapped out of her reverie
“Oh God, are you okay?” Mikaela asked holding her hands
“I’m fine, it’s nothing” Arielle smiled fakingly and they stared at her weirdly
“It’s nothing girls, don’t worry about it, I’m gonna use the restroom” Arielle said and stood up immediately walking out of the cafeteria.
★HALLWAY★
She kept walking trying not to think about the way Jordan looked at her this morning, she raised her head up and it landed on Jordan who was also coming out of the classroom, immediately he saw her, he tried turning back but she stopped him
“Jordan, wait up” she screamed running after him and he stopped reluctantly, she stopped in front of him
“Hi, are you okay? You look pale” she muttered and tried touching his face but he moved away and she dropped her hand
“Stop acting like you care Arielle” he said looking away from her and her mouth fell open
“Okay, wait up, you have been giving me a cold shoulder since morning, did I do something wrong?” she asked and he looked at her
“Are you acting up right now or you really forgot?” he asked and she stared at him weirdly
“What are you talking about?” she asked and he chuckled lightly looking at her with hurt clearly written in his eyes
“Are you really serious right now Arielle?” He asked again to be sure
“What do you mean?” she asked again
“You mean you really forgot about where we were supposed to go to yesterday?” he asked again but she was still staring at her not having any idea what he’s talking about
“The Cinema Arielle” Jordan finally said with a slight harsh voice and she gasped immediately
“Wow, I really didn’t expect this” he muttered chuckling, but behind those laughs, pain was clearly written there
“Do you even consider me as a friend? You could have just told me you won’t be able to make it instead of making me look like a fool” he said hurtfully and guilt filled her up immediately
“Wait…Jordan… wait, I didn’t mean to, I was with Kingston yesterday evening because we planned on reading together, the craziest part is that, we didn’t even read, we were just talking about dramas and movies, that’s why I forgot, I’m sorry Jordan” she said not knowing those words she just uttered hurt him deeply
“You were with Kingston talking about dramas and I was left there hoping you would come not knowing you don’t even remember we were supposed to go out together, I got there around 5pm exactly Arielle, I waited till 5:30 thinking something came up with you and you will still come, then the rain suddenly started, there was no even shelter around, I had to stay under the rain hoping you would still come, I finally decided that I shoud go but I thought about the fact that what if you come and you didn’t meet me there, I stayed till past 6 Ari, trembling under the rain badly, I was drenched, do you think me coming late this morning was intentional, I have weak immune system Ari, staying in the rain for long could cause some damages to my body but I didn’t mind that fact and waited for you but you were with Kingston Chatting happily with him, I even sent you messages but you ignored them,after I finally decided to just leave, there was no cab around, I had to call my sister who came to pick me up immediately, I fainted immediately I saw her coming out of her car because I couldn’t handle it any longer, now she’s even mad at me cause I stayed under the rain and I don’t even know when she will talk to me. what do you really take me for Arielle?, Yunno what, let’s just end this already, I don’t wanna get hurt anymore” Jordan said with tears dropping from his eyes, he was breathing heavily because he was talking nonstop and Arielle stared at him, guilt eating her up badly
“Jordan…. I’m sorry….. please just let me explain” she said trying to touch him but he moved back again
“Say what you want to say without touching me” he said cleaning his tears
“I don’t have any excuses, I’m sorry…..just one last chance please” she said and he looked at her
“It’s of no use Arielle, just forget about it” he said
“Jordan….” she called grabbing his hands
“Ari…. please” he muttered and snatched his hands from her grip before walking away and Arielle squatted on the ground crying badly.
A figure suddenly hid herself when she saw Jordan coming towards her direction, immediately he left, she came out and smirked and it turned out to be Lexi.
