CHAPTER 5&6
πTIMIπ
As I strolled into the school, Atlas walked alongside me, and I couldn’t help but notice the curious glances we attracted. It wasn’t common for me to be seen with anyone, especially a boy.
“Seat here,” I instructed Atlas, gesturing to the empty spot beside me.
“So, I’m just going to sit here and do nothing?” he quipped.
“What do you want to do?” I retorted, feeling irritation creeping in.
“Don’t you have friends you talk to and maybe introduce them to me?” he inquired.
“Even if I did, would I want to introduce you to them?” I shot back, causing a frown to form on his face.
“They see nothing wrong with me?” he challenged.
“Mtchew,” I sighed, retrieving my books from my bag.
“Do you know what I do at this time?” I asked him.
“What?” he queried.
“I read,” I stated, flipping open my notebook.
“You read? That’s boring,” he commented.
“With your long hair, are you sure there is something in your brain?” I teased.
“Excuse me?” he responded, taken aback.
“Yeah, excuse you,” I retorted sarcastically.
“Just open your book, and being the good person that I am, I’ll fill you in on what we’ve learned for the past two weeks,” I offered.
“Don’t worry about that; I can always…” Atlas was interrupted by Kelvin’s sudden outburst.
“So, it’s because of this white boy that you don’t want to give me your contact, right?” Kelvin accused.
“I don’t even like any of you, that’s just the funny part,” I stated plainly.
“But why are you talking to him?” Kelvin interrogated, as if he had the right to question me.
“See, Kelvin, you’re becoming possessive. Are we dating? Abeg, go jor,” I rebuked him, feeling annoyed already.
“I see what you’re doing, Timilehin,” Kelvin persisted.
“I will slap you if you call my full name again,” I warned.
“You don’t have respect for girls, maybe if you were more respectful, I would have considered giving you my contact,” I responded firmly.
“Okay, sorry. Sorry, I’m sorry,” Kelvin apologized, then his gaze shifted to Atlas, who looked at us speechlessly.
“Next time, maybe next time,” I dismissed him.
“Timi…” Kelvin attempted to continue.
“Kelvin, I said rest,” I interrupted, giving him a warning glance. He hesitated before finally walking away. Turning to Atlas, who was studying me, he voiced his curiosity.
“So, that is your boyfriend?” he asked.
“It’s like you have an ear problem because we were literally discussing how I won’t give him my contact,” I clarified, causing him to frown.
“Can’t someone tease you?” he teased back.
“You’re just too serious for a girl,” he remarked. Mtcheww. Did he think his words were affecting me? I’ve heard worse.
“And you’re just too annoying for a guy,” I countered, returning to my book.
“Wh@tΓ«ver,” he muttered, ending the conversation.
“Timi,” I turned to the familiar voice and wasn’t surprised by who it was.
It was Chidera, popularly known as Dera. You know, in every school, there’s always that one girl who thinks she has it all, with guys falling at her feet. Little does she know, she’s just seeking attention and a whore. That’s Chidera for you.
“Timi,” she called again and then settled in front of me and Atlas.
“Hi,” she said to Atlas when she saw that I wasn’t ready to respond.
“Hey,” he replied, smiling.
Two whores meeting each other, what a perfect combination.
“You’re new?” she asked, smiling. No, he’s not new. What a ridiculous question. She knows all the guys in the school, and most of them have had six with her.
“You’re Timi’s friend?” he asked her.
“Yes, we’re friends,” she said.
“Who and who?” I interjected before standing up and walking out of the class. She should be the one to show him around the school.
Classes went on, and it became increasingly annoying every time I saw Atlas and Dera together. They would laugh over unnecessary things at the slightest provocation.
They both excused themselves from class at the same time, and I couldn’t help but wonder what they were up to.
“Excuse me, Mrs. Janice,” I said before walking out of the classroom.
d@mn, I felt like a stalker, but I really wanted to know what those two were up to.
Walking into the female restroom, I found it amusing how our toilet was designed. Being in a school where you pay millions, you get privileges for a lot of things. Like the restrooms are really spacious, and some groups of girls are assigned to use a particular restroom. A pass is given to you to enter the restroom that you’re assigned to.
Lucky me, I and Dera are assigned to the same restroom. I’ve caught her with different boys messing up the restroom multiple times.
I used my card to open the restroom door and entered.
“Ahhh, yes…” was the next thing I heard. I glanced at the closed door, seeing their shadows reflecting and the banging of the door.
As if I didn’t already know, they literally just met today. Isn’t she ashamed?
“Atlas, yhhh…” I couldn’t bear to listen to her annoyung MΓ΅@ns any longer, so I stepped out of the restroom.
It wasn’t until the next class that they finally showed up. Shameless people. The worst part of all this is that they just met each other today.
“Hi,” Atlas called, causing me to glance at him before returning my focus to my books.
“Just chill out, you don’t need to be so cold all the time,” he said.
“Chill out,” I mimicked.
“Didn’t your mom say I should show you around the school?” I asked, making him nod.
“But Dera showed me,” he smiled. Fool.
“Your mom knows Dera? Was Dera the one you had dinner with yesterday?” I asked, raising an eyebrow.
“Wait, wait!! I don’t get you, to be honest. One minute, you don’t want anything to do with me, and the next, I’m so valuable,” he said, frustration evident in his voice. I ignored him, focusing on the plain whiteboard instead.
“FuΓ§king annoying,” I heard him murmur, but who cares.

School finished, and I returned home, finding solace in the best place in the worldβmy room. Just quiet and perfect.
“Atlas’s brother was in my class,” Tiwa said as she entered my room, shutting the door loudly.
“Wow, I am so shocked,” I replied sarcastically before reclining on my bed.
“Well, he only wanted to talk to me because he is very shy,” she explained, smiling.
“And how did you feel about that?” I inquired.
“Happy, I think I am crushing on him,” she confessed, her smile growing.
“Crushing on someone you just met?” I questioned.
“I said I have a crush on him. It’s not that I like him; those are two different things,” she clarified, surprising me with her distinction.
“Thank you for your correction,” i added.
“You are boring, oo,” she teased before walking towards the door.
“With your big nose,” I retorted, laughing.
After Tiwa left my room, I approached the window and opened it, peering into Atlas’s room, but he wasn’t there. Thank goodness.
“Looking for me?” he asked, walking up to the window.
“No, I wasn’t,” I denied before proceeding to lay on my bed.
“You know, it would be better if you were nicer,” he suggested, shaking his hands into his pockets.
“You don’t get to tell me what to do,” I asserted, laying on my bed and facing the other side. I didn’t hear him speak again. Why wasn’t he talking? I thought he was gone, only to turn and see him looking at my @$$.
“Wait, what?” I asked, turning around immediately.
“What?” he asked innocently, as if he hadn’t just been staring at my backside.
“You know what you did,” I accused.
“But I am not Chidera that you can just take into the toilet and do wh@tΓ«ver,” I pointed out.
“Dera?” he asked, then smiled.
“Actually, she is kind of nice and cool,” he commented before turning to me. “Unlike you,” he added.
“I don’t want to tell you her history, so it won’t seem like I’m poking my nose in. Anyways, enjoy her,” I retorted.
“She is very beautiful,” he observed.
“Well, that’s your business,” I replied.
“I think I like her.”
His last words caught me off guard. Likes Dera? That loose girl.
