Candy disconnected herself from Xavier and cleared her throat.
Xavier immediately knew she wasn’t comfortable with what he just did.
“I’m sorry. I was just too excited to see you” He said.
“No it’s fine.. I..” Her remaining word got back in when she felt someone’s presence behind her. She had almost forgotten this man was here. She could feel his burning gaze on her.
“President Diego, how have you been?” Xavier greeted with a cheerful smile, stretching his hand for an handshake.
As expected, Diego look down his hand and back up at him without removing both hands from his pocket.
“You’ve never handshake me ever since with are business partner. How cold” Xavier said.
‘Business Partner?’ Candy thought. So that was the reason Diego came to them.
“Let’s get down to business” Diego said and walked pass him.
“I’ll see you soon Candy” Xavier said quickly and followed Diego.
“Who was that?” Yazmine nudged Candy from behind.
“An old friend. We kinda date once before” Candy replied. Yazmine blinked severally.
“What. He is here to steal you from my brother?” Yazmine asked.
“There nothing between I and Jameson” Candy shook her head.
Meanwhile, Jameson stayed seated on his seat. His eyes scan around the place and he spot a pest among the crowd.
It was Natalie making a call. His own phone buzz and check out the message that just dropped. It was a message from a strange number in which he traced to be Venessa’s.
*I KNOW ABOUT YOUR SECRET, TELL ME WHO IS DIEGO’S BRIDE*
Jameson sighed after reading the message.
“Does she really think this would work on me?” He muttered, returning his gaze to Natalie but found her gone.
Jameson drank out of his red wine, stood and adjust his shirt before stepping among the crowd.
While the function was going on, Diego was in a room with Xavier and another man. His gaze was piercing as usual as his sat there with a cold aura.
His phone beeped and he check his message. It was from Jameson…

Natalie face was serious while making a call with Vortex. She had left the hall in order not to be heard.
“She’s here. Why is she here and how the Fuçk did she get to be here?” Natalie asked Vortex over phone.
“She is an employee at the Gonzalez cooperation”
“What!!” Natalie eyes widened. “How did she manage to get in? What kind of string did she pull?” She asked.
“I don’t know but we are definitely going to get her tonight. My men are in the hall too. We’ve spot the man you said hurt Kelvin, we’ll have to clear him first.. you’ll have to do something too”
“What is it?” She asked.
Getting back to the hall, Natalie adjust herself. She had her mask on so Candy won’t recognize her. She stared at Candy sitting beautifully among the crowd. She seems happy and that alone piss her off.
“Excuse me” Natalie called one of the waitress. Whispering something to her hear, the waitress eyes widened.
Before the waitress could speak, Natalie gave a card to her. The waitress nodded and her sight went straight to Candy.

Jameson washed his face with the running water in the restroom. Sighing he wiped the water off his face using a clean handkerchief.
He felt a presence behind him and quickly move out from his spot.
The strange man who had attacked him stabbed the air instead. Jameson sighed.
“MotherFuçker” He muttered staring at the man covered in all black even his face.
He attacked Jameson again by swinging his knife towards his neck. Jameson dodge effortlessly, he jumped and send a kick to his face.
Before the strange man could recover, he swung the man down to the floor. Kicking the knife away, Jameson squat to look at him.
“Vortex men right?” Jameson’s asked. “How dumb of him” A punch land on the man’s face causing him to pass out.
“Candy” Jameson muttered and stood to leave but four hefty men came into the restroom at that moment. Their face hard and dangerous.
They locked the door behind and bought out their dagger.
“You’ve got to be kidding me” Jameson muttered.

Jackie knocked on a door lightly. She was dressed in a blue hoodie due to the cold whether. Taking a deep breath, she waited for the door to open.
A young guy opened the door, his eyes widened seeing her.
“Jackie!” He almost exclaimed.
“Hey” Jackie greeted.
“Long time no see. C’mon on in” He opened the door further for her to walk in. “How have you been?” He asked.
“Good” Jackie eyes scan the small room having gagets and papers all over. He is a computer freak, that mostly earn his money from hacking and tracing.
“So what can I offer you?” He asked.
“I need your help” Jackie said and he frowned. “It’s pretty urgent” She added.
“What is it”
“I need to find my sister” Jackie said.
“I’m not surprised” He smiled. Jackie had always been very close to Candy.
“I’m just worried about her that’s all” She explained.
“Alright, give me a minute” He said and sat before his computer.

“You alright?” Yazmine asked Candy seeing how her expression changed all of a sudden.
“Not at all, I just feel dizzy” Candy replied.
“Should we leave?”
“No, of course not”
“I should get you water then” Yazmine said and look around for a waiter or waitress but didn’t see any. “I’ll be right back” She said standing up.
Candy held her stomach and her face squeeze as if she was in pain. She stood and went to find the restroom.
Meanwhile, Yazmine return with a glass of water but didn’t see Candy. Frowning, she suddenly bumped onto a man, the water spilled all over her dress.
Yazmine shot a glare at the man whose face was covered with a mask.
“You should look where you’re going” She snapped.
“I’m sorry miss” The man apologized in a calm voice. She was actually the one at fault but he wasn’t ready to argue with her.
Yazmine huffed, staring at her wet dress.

Meanwhile, Candy was on her way to the restroom when she saw a strange man coming from the end. She stopped her track and immediately knew he was here for her.
She turn to leave but saw two men.
Her drink was spiked by Natalie and was already affecting her. Her eyes was blur already and she couldn’t hold it anymore.
The men grab her and she felt weak to even move.
Diego checked his phone, after a beep came in. His eye flickered with something dangerous. He stood up and left the room without taking excuse.
Xavier wasn’t surprised by this. But then he recalled Candy. How come she is an employee in the Gonzalez company, even with her father’s wealth?
When Diego appeared after he had hugged Candy, he saw the trace of anger in his eyes which was directed to him. And that had scared him a little..

Candy woke up due to the water poured on her head. She found herself in a not so dark room. She tried to move but found out she was tied to a chair.
Raising her head she saw Natalie sitting with her leg on top another. Besides her was Vortex, who has a creepy smile on his face.
“How was your vacation Candy?” Natalie asked, she has a cold look.
“Let me go!” She yelled.
“Tssk.. You’re such a stubborn kid who get on my nerves right from your childhood. How ungrateful of you to run off on your wedding. Do you know the humiliation you put me through?” Natalie asked. She stood and slowly walk towards Candy.
“All I wanted for you was to be happy. I found a good husband that was going to heal that broken heart of yours but you’re such an ungrateful soul to run off” Natalie gritted her teeth.
“You were planning to kill me and take the wealth I inherited. You’re a monster” Candy frowned. How could this woman be so proud of her wrong doings?
“Isn’t that a way to solve your problem? You aren’t too hurt because of Mark but for the fact that you have a slim chance of giving birth”
Candy face loosen and her lips parted.
“I know how you so much love children Candy and h@tëd the fact that you might not have a child of your own. Guess what, I can make your dream come through. I’ll take care of your child and make him or her live a very good life”
Candy clench her fist, her jaw clinched hard. What is this woman taking her for? A dumb person? Well she was the one who had let her pain give Natalie the chance. Her cold eyes stared into space.
“Natalie” For the first time she called Natalie by her name.
Raising her gaze up to her, Candy asked said.
“I’m not stupid. Stop talking nonsense”
Natalie was caught off guard by her cold aura but then immediately get over it.
“Hmm, you’re just like your father”
Candy frowned. “What are you talking about?”
“I guess trying to persuade you won’t work. I’ll go with the hard way” Natalie turn her head to Vortex and walked towards him. The door opened and some men came it.
They were all putting on only shorts. Their body strong and hard.
“This is where you are going to die Candy. These men are going to get you pregnant no matter what. You’re going to bore a child and I’ll kill you” Natalie said lightly and left the place leaving the remaining work to Vortex.
Candy swallowed hard, her heart was pounding fast against her chest. Is this going to end well? He is coming right? He had promised her last night.

LAST NIGHT***
Candy managed to stay up and wait for Diego. He released into her at the pool too. She wanted to let him know about her situation.. About what happened to her.
She could only hope he doesn’t send her away after that.
When he came she greeted him with a smile. As usual, Diego only grunt.
While watching him eat, Candy decided to start a conversation.
“How was work?”
“If you have something to say, say it” He replied without looking up a her.
‘Why are you so cold?’ She wanted ask but decided not to. She inhaled, mustering up the courage in her.
“At the pool and bedroom, you didn’t use protection. Did you know about my condition?” She asked.
“Yes” He replied straightforwardly and Candy’s heart sank. He continued. “If you’re worried about that then you shouldn’t. I don’t plan on having any kids”
Candy should be happy about it but she wasn’t.
“Getting weak because of your pain is a terrible decision” He spoke again.
“And being too cold to people just because of your pain is a terrible decision too” Candy said and he looked up to her. She was calm.
“What?”
“There must be a reason why act this way. As your wife I’ll try to find out the reason and change you”
Diego smirked at her word.
“Is that a challenge?” He asked.
Candy smiled cutely. “If that’s how you take it then yes” Diego nodded.
“You might suffer a little tomorrow. But don’t worry, I’ll do my part and help you” He said and Candy’s eyes widened.

Now, she knows what he meant by that.
Vortex reached for Candy’s chin and lift her head up to look at him. His eyes went down to her slightly exposed cleavage.
Seeing how beautiful she was, he wanted to have a taste of her.
“You’re beautiful” He said, touching her lips. Candy bite his hand, he groan in pain.
“Fuçk!” Vortex cursed and slapped her immediately. He held her hair and yanked it hard. Candy yelped but never show a weak face to him.
“I was thinking of going easy on you but now I’m going to Fuçk you so hard until you bleed”
“Tssk” Candy let out a laugh.
“You think this is a joke huh? In a minute your scream will be the only thing that is going to fill this room”
A loud bang could heard outside the door. Vortex looked up.
‘He’s here’ Candy thought.
“Hey keep it down out there morons!” Vortex yelled and look back at Candy, who has a knowing smile on her face.
“Why are you smiling?” Vortex asked but then Candy laughed again. He thought she was crazy.
“There’s something you don’t about me” Candy said and Vortex scoffed. Is she trying to act tough?
“What is it?” He asked.
“I have a husband”
Immediately those words left her mouth a scream was heard outside the room.
Vortex stood up straight. His brow knitted when the door slowly creaked open. A tall figure stepped into the room. Behind him was a lifeless man laying on the floor with blood all over.
He was using a silent pistol.. he shot the three men behind Vortex, he was fast, they didn’t see the attack coming
Vortex face dropped when he saw the face.
“D..I..ego?”
Wait! Diego is Candy’s husband. The hell?!!
Diego ignored Vortex who was trembling on his spot and went to stand before Candy. He noticed the small wound at one side of her lips.
Somehow, this made his blood boil.
“He hit you?” He asked and Candy slowly nodded.
“He touched me too” Candy knew that would add more fuel to his anger and it did.
Vortex wanted run but the man held him back immediately. Vortex bought out a knife wanted to slash Diego’s arm off but a bullet went straight to his leg.
“Ahh!!!”
Taking his hand up, Diego stabbed his hand to the table close, blood spilling out and the room was filled with his scream.
Vortex was crying like a baby.. Natalie never tell him he was messing with the devil.
“Please let me go.. I never knew she was your wife” He plead but word sent a chill down his spine.
“I should destroy the hands that mess with what’s mine.. How dare you touch her”
