CHAPTER 24
( Preparation…)
*Vivian’s POV*
“I don’t know why we have to do everything today if prom isn’t until next weekend “. I groan while laying on the couch in the boutique store my mother dragged me to after hearing that John proposed to me in front of the whole school during lunch today to go to prom with him.
“Everyone’s already been shopping for the perfect clothes to look their best since many months ago and you need to look your absolute best, especially knowing the fact that your mate is the prince and everyone will wanna be seeing the cutest couple of mates at the prom, being the prince and his beautiful mate that is the one and only you of course. I’ve never been more happy in my life than now”. She gushed while excitedly looking through all the lavish gowns surrounding us in the store.
“It’s been 4 months since John and I first date and ever since then, my mother’s been overreacting with everything we do together.
John decided after our first date, that he was going to take me out on even more dates once a week. Am he never broke his promise. But every time he did take me out, my mother will be ten times more excited than me. She’d purposely wait for him in front of the door to give him a container of her home made pastries that she always make.
And that wasn’t even the worst thing yet. While am getting ready for our dates, she would take the time to ask John a bunch of questions about how he feels about me and how she wants to have grandkids soon. And that pretty much scares any regular young 17 year old wolf.
I mean, John wasn’t scared of the thought of commitment since his just like my mother, he’s also very excited about our relationship moving forward instead of backwards judging on how we were before our first date.
“Now come over here and try out some of the gowns I picked out for you”. She continues while gesturing me to get up from the bench and into the changing room.
I grabbed the five dresses she chose and headed into one of the dressing rooms.
Of course most of the dresses she chose were red. Ever since I was born, my mother loved dressing me up in red and my brother in blue.
I don’t know why she did it, I think my father said she had a thing against baby girls having to wear pink right when they’re born. But am guessing she had to gave up the color pink and instead make it red.
“Oh my gosh! you look so beautiful!”. My mother gasp when I walk out in the first gown she chose.
Rolling my eyes, I knew she was going to be saying that for all the dresses I was gonna try on since she always done that since I was a child.
It wasn’t until I finish trying on all the dresses that my mother decided on asking my opinion on which I liked best. Which in her mine is basically me picking one dress and her going totally against my choice and voicing out her opinion on which dress she thinks is the best for me, and in that situation the conclusions always end up with us going home with the choice of clothing she liked instead of me.
“Mom, I really don’t care which one you buy. let’s pick one and let’s go home, am starving “. I groan while handing her all the dresses in my arms.
“No. Vivian this is your day. Your moment with your mate. You have to choose the gown you will feel the most confident and happy in. You know you and your mate the best, So I can’t choose which one will make you both remember this moment for the rest of your life”. She says holding me back from leaving the store as I let out a sigh before nodding.
“This one”. I reply holding out the dress I liked the best as she look back at my face finally nodding at my choice.
“Let’s pay for it and choose some heels that will go with it at a different store before I change my mind “. She says quickly guiding me to the register.

“You going out with Alejandro again?”. My mom asks after I finish eating dinner quickly to put my shoes on.
“It’s alright mom, the guy’s actually pretty chill. I like him way better than the uppity @$$hOle that’s always taking her out on these little dates around town”. Damian says rolling his eyes while taking our dirty plate to the dishwasher.
“For the hundredth time today Damian, please stop calling your future brother in law an @$$hOle. You don’t even take the time to know him, you just assume his an @$$hOle because he’s a prince “. My mother retorts back with a glare as he scoffs.
“The dudes is a popular football player that’s also the Alpha King brother in law. If you think about it, just by saying all that, makes him automatically an @$$hOle “. He replies before walking upstairs with an annoyed look on his face.
“Vivian, I know you’re close friends with this guy, but how does John feel about him being close with you like this?”. My mother asks cautiously since she’s always been suspicious of Alejandro since the day I first introduced them to each other.
“Yes he didn’t like Alejandro at first but they’re now willingly okay with standing next to each other because they both know that in order for me to be happy I need both of them in my life “. I explain to her as she sighs before nodding.
“Okay, have fun but not too much fun”. She warns while squinting her eyes at me making me laugh while am walking out the front door.
“Ale!”. I shout happily seeing Alejandro in front of my house leaning against his car with a smile.
“Ready to get your @$$ kick at another game of pool?”. He asks as I rolled my eyes while getting into the passenger seat of his car.
A few weeks after me and John made an agreement about me being able to hang out with Alejandro without John protesting against it. Alejandro ended up finding a nice place we both can hang out without having to find a new place to hang out everyday.
And what I mean about that is, there’s a small bar near the outskirts of the kingdom walls and Alejandro and I hang out there since there’s not much people who go there.
The bar, unlike any other regular bars in the kingdom, is more like an arcade mixed with a bar section. Mostly kids goes there to play with the machine games while the elderly people drink and gamble around the bar.
