Mrs Hailey kept running to and fro in the kitchen as she kept dishing out the meals she prepared for the family. Mr Bright assisted her also with the preparation. Both faces shining with smiles.
“Honey! It’s suppose to be cheesecake not rice cake!” Hailey exclaimed when she saw Mr Bright bringing out the rice cake.
“Oops!I thought it’s rice cake!” Mr Bright rolled eyes at her.
“C’mon,we need to be fast, our baby is coming home soon” Hailey said and giggled excitedly.
“And is she going to eat all of these?” Mr Bright asked, pointing at the countless meals on the table.
“Her favorite is cheesecake,of course you should know that” Hailey replied.
“Remember,she said she’s coming with a guest” Hailey continued and Mr Bright nodded.
“I wonder who’s the guest” Hailey said, jumping excitedly like a five years old girl waiting for a lollipop.
Mr Bright grunted as he walked back to the kitchen. “This lady is a pain in my @$$” He muttered to himself.
Soon,a knock was heard from the door. It came again and Hailey went to open the door.
Her joy knew no bounds when she saw her little angel right before her eyes,her happiness and excitement got tripled as she hug her tightly to herself almost suffocating Elmira.
“Mom…I can’t breath” She stuttered and Hailey chuckled, gently releasing her from the hug. She began stroking her angel’s hair but suddenly her eyes moved to the stranger beside her daughter. She turned her eyes to Elmira before returning it back to the stranger.
“Um..Mom, meet Jayden. My boyfriend” Elmira said, introducing Jayden to Mrs Hailey. Hailey stared at the handsome young looking man before her,her eyes doing the shooting work. So much that Elmira and Jayden started fidgeting. Jayden was already sweating on his forehead.
“Hi ma’am” He smiled, nervously. But Hailey never said any word as she kept on staring at him.
He looked at Elmira and their eyes met,he gave her the nervous look a d she wrapped her hands around his arms for support.
“Come in son-in-law” Hailey finally said, gesturing them to come in and Jayden heaved a sigh of relief as they walked into the house.
“Phew!That was close” He muttered beside Elmira.
“Mom can be funny at times” Elmira told him.
Mr Bright came back with the cheesecake when he beheld them.
“Dad!!” Elmira screamed, running to jump on him happily.
“Daughter!!” Bright called,happily too.
They both kept hugging themselves till their satisfaction before releasing each other.
“Dad, my boyfriend” She smiled at Jayden as he stepped forward.
“Hi sir,nice to meet you” Jayden said, bowing his head with respect and Mr Bright shook his hand instead with a smile.
“You’re handsome just the way I imagined her boyfriend to be” Mr Bright said and they all chuckled.
“Thank you” Jayden smiled at him.
“Make sure you treat my daughter well, one complaint from her, I’ll chop off your head” Hailey said, seriously and Jayden nodded nervously.
“I’ll never hurt her ma’am” Jayden said, holding Elmira’s hands tightly to his own.
“I love you” She whispered into him with a smile.
“I love you more” He whispered back before facing her parents.
“I’m never going to do anything to hurt her,trust me” He told them and they smiled at him.
“Let’s eat,I prepared a lot of delicious meals for you guys” Hailey said, gesturing at the table. They all sat down together to eat.
“Hmm, sumptous!” Elmira Mõ@ned into the cheesecake and Jayden chuckled seeing her baby attitude.
“See,I told you she loves it” Hailey rolled her eyes at her husband.
“Yeah, wh@tëver” Mr Bright rolled his eyes back at her.
“How’s it son-in-law?” Hailey asked Jayden who had a lasagna in his mouth.
“It’s delicious,I love it” He complimented with a smile.
“Mom you’re the best! Love you big time!” Elmira squirmed, standing up to shower kisses on Mrs Hailey’s cheeks.
They all laughed at once.
“Love you too big head” Hailey said, stroking her hair.
“C’mon mom,at least don’t disgrace me in front of my boyfriend” She whispered into Hailey’s ear and Hailey almost choked on her laughter.
“Gossiping about us Son-in-law” Mr Bright told Jayden and Jayden chuckled again. He totally loves how this family is jovial. Everything is just going peaceful.
He smiled watching the happy family but the smile on his face disappeared when he remembered his dad.
“Hope he isn’t also against me loving you?” He muttered silently to himself.
“Here,eat up!” Elmira said, feeding him the rice and fish. He pouted his lips at her and she pecked him.
“Awwn!” Hailey eyes beamed with smiles.
“When are we kissing like that honey? Let’s kiss now” Hailey squinted.
“No,peck my nose instead” Mr Bright said, pointing at his nose and they all burst into another round of laughter.
“What a sweet happy family” Jayden thought, smiling throughout.

The two couples got to the dorm mansion late after series of chitchats they had with Elmira’s parents.
“Why don’t you want me to go to my dorm?” Elmira asked when they entered his room.
