“Take your dad out of my hospital, this instant” Lucas and walked out of the emergency room.
The Lady quickly went after Lucas the moment he left the emergency room. “Dr. Lucas! Dr. Lucas!” She called his name going after him. Lucas didn’t want to stop walking, but he decided to.
“What do you want?” Lucas asked, facing her.
“You said you were going to help my dad regardless of the fact that we don’t have money, so why did you change your mind after seeing my dad?” She asked, crying.
“There’s a saying that goes like this; you reap what you sow, and that’s exactly what’s happening to your father. Take your dad out of my hospital, I mean it” Lucas said and leaves.
Lucas entered his office with tears in his eyes, and he sees Jane waiting for him in his office.
“Finally you are here Lucas. I wanted to…. ” Jane was cut short, because Lucas hugged her. “What’s wrong Lucas?” She asked hugging him back.
“I think I will be recorded as a bad doctor for not saving a patient’s life” He said between tears, and Jane broke the hug.
“What are you talking about Lucas? You have always endeavour to save a patient’s life. The whole of Los Angeles knows you for that”
“But this time around, I won’t be able to do it” He said, sniffling.
“What are you trying to say Lucas? I can’t grab it”
“I didn’t tell you about this fifteen years because I didn’t want you to worry about me, and I didn’t bother to you anymore because it was all in the past” Lucas said, between tears.
“Okay… I am listening”
“Fifteen years ago, when I was getting ready to about to leave highschool, I wrote a scholarship exam into a medical college in Dashie, I passed the exam, but Mr. Brook denied me the opportunity of being a student in his school. He insulted my whole life and sent me out of his office, and now he is here in my hospital, expecting me to save his life. I know I am a doctor, but I can’t save his life” Lucas said, allowing his tears to fall from his eyes.
“I understand how you feel right now Lucas, but don’t let your past to ruined your present. Just like you said it’s all in the past, so let bygones be bygones. You made an oath to always save lives no matter what happens, right? Don’t break that oath all because of a selfish man from years ago. Beside, if he didn’t reject you as a student in his school, there’s so much guarantee that you won’t have met the man who changed our lives”
“Jane” He muttered her name between tears, and Jane hugged him.
“You are a good man, Lucas, don’t let him paint your name black. Save his life so he can see how successful you have become despite what he did to you”
“Thank you so much, Jane” He said, hugging her tightly and Jane smiled, patting his back.

Lucas came out from his office with Jane and they both went to the emergency room. The lady was about taking Mr. Brook out of the hospital, like Lucas has said.
“Dr. Lucas” The lady called his name, Lucas looked at Jane and she smiled at him, and at the same time nodding her head.
“Don’t take your father out of the hospital. I will treat him” Lucas said,
“Thank you so much, Dr. Lucas” The lady said, crying.

≤ FEW HOURS LATER ≥
Being a great surgeon, the surgery on Mr. Brook was successful.. Mr. Brook has been sleeping for an hour, and he woke up after Lucas entered the ward.
“Thank you so much for saving my dad, Dr. Lucas. I owe you so much” The lady said.
“Lucas” Mr. Brook said in a low voice because he was still weak.
“How are you Mr. Brook?”
“I can’t believe you save my life after what I did to you, years ago” Mr. Brook said with a feeling of guilt.
“I wanted you to pay for your sins, but someone special to me said it’s a waste of time if I don’t help you. If you haven’t rejected me back then, I won’t be as successful as I am today. Let’s just say I am returning the favor, because your rejection paved way to my success”
“Lucas” He muttered with tears in his eyes.
“You can stay here untill you’re fully healed, and about the payment for your surgery, don’t bother paying for it. I will come and check up on you later” Lucas said, leaving. He was about opening the door when Mr. Brook called his name.
“Lucas” He said, and Lucas looked at him.
“I am sorry for what I did to you years ago. I lost everything after I did that to you. I guess my misfortune is as a result of what I did to you in the past, please forgive me Lucas. I’m so sorry for everything” He said and Lucas beamed a smile at him.
“It’s all in the past now, so I forgive you. He isn’t allowed to eat spicy food untill he is discharge, alright” Lucas said to the lady and she nodded her head.
“Take care of yourself, Mr. Brook” He said and headed for his office. He entered and sees Jane waiting for him, and he smiled.
“I thought you left already? It’s late”
“No I didn’t. While you were at the O.R, I went home to prepare your favorite food. You’re hungry, right?” She asked smiling.
“It’s as if you read me, Jane. I’m so famished” He said like a cute baby and Jane laughed.
“Then let’s eat”
Both sat down to eat the macaroni and cheese that Jane prepared. It’s actually Lucas’s favorite meal, and he can eat it for days without getting tired.
“How is it?” She asked, blinking.
“Delicious as always. No restaurants can’t beat your cooking” He said and Jane laugh.
“Stop flattering me”
“No I am not. You cook macaroni and cheese better than me, including those expensive restaurants too”
“It’s my best friend’s favorite meal, of course I should be very good at it” Jane said, smiling. She’s always so happy anytime she’s with Lucas.
“That’s why you’re the best, Jane” Lucas said and winked at her, and Jane hits him playfully and at the same time laughing.
“Stop doing that” She said and Lucas smiled.

“Were you able to talk to Mr. Brook?” Jane asked, after they were done eating. Both were having a glass of red wine in their hands.
“Yes I did. He felt guilty for what he did to me years ago, and he asked for forgiveness”
“Did you forgive him?”
“Yes I did. Like you said earlier, I shouldn’t live in the past. I accept his apology. Thanks for your kindly advise, Jane. If you haven’t done that, I’d have been labeled as a bad doctor. Thank you so much Jane” He said and Jane’s head fell on his shoulder. She was already sleeping.
Lucas looked at her. “She’s sleeping” He muffled and smiled. He took the glass of red wine in her hand and drop it on the table.
“Lucas” Jane called his name softly in her sleep, and Lucas looked at her.
“Thank you for everything. You’re the best gift given to me by God” She muttered with her head still on Lucas’s shoulder and he smiled.
“You’re also the best gift given to me by God” He said with a smile, caressing Jane’s beautiful face.

≤ THE NEXT DAY ≈ THE STARS ACADEMY ≥
“Xiaomi told me that you both are now friends, is that true?” Xavier asked.
“I thought you didn’t want to talk to me?” Kayla asked in return.
“I don’t want to talk to you, because I don’t want to waste my saliva talking to you. I can’t stop Xiaomi from being friends with you, but don’t corrupt my sister”
“What are you trying to say, Xavier? Do I look like someone who is corrupt?”
“Yes. You’re corrupt with bad behavior, and I don’t want my sister to take that from you”
“I am not that bad like you think of me, Xavier”
“Tell that to the smurfs and not me” Xavier said, and was about putting on his headphone, when Denise entered the class, so he dropped it.
“Good morning, class” She said with a smile.
“Good morning, Miss. Denise” The student chorus.
“How are you doing today?”
“We’re all fine”
“I am glad to hear that. As you all know, stars academy always advertise the school every section, and thankfully your class have been chosen this year to advertise the school online” Denise said, and the students clapped their hands.
“Kayla Meyers and Xavier Dawkins, please stand up” She said and both of them look at each other before standing up.
“You’re good with handling cameras, right?” Denise asked Xavier.
“Yes. That’s one thing I can do perfectly”
“Nice. There’s no need asking Kayla, because she’s familiar with cameras since she always advertise Dior’s products”
“What are you trying to say, Miss. Denise?” Kayla asked.
“I want you both to join heads together and come up with something intriguing”
“You want us to work together to advertise the school?” Xavier asked.
“Yes. That way you both will get to know each other better” Denise said, while Kayla and Xavier looked at each other.

≤ SAME DAY ≈ SCIENCE CLASS ≥
Xiaomi stayed on her phone watching a music video of Richard Lawson. He release a new album, title THE BEAUTY IN YOUR EYES, and it was trending over social media. No doubt Richard Lawson is a popular soloist, even if he was just sixteen.
“He’s so cool. He knows how to sing and rap. Richard is so perfect and handsome” She muttered with a smile. She was wearing a headphone, so she didn’t know what was going on around her.
Even when her classmates were all screaming that Richard Lawson was now part of their class, she didn’t hear them, because she was so engrossed with what she was watching. Xiaomi was just smiling and blushing, unware that Richard was sitting beside her.
“Do you love my music that much?” He asked, but Xiaomi kept smiling because she didn’t hear him. Richard took off the headphone from her head and Xiaomi got angry.
“Who did heck…. ” Her words seized in her mouth when she saw Richard looking at her with a smile on his face.
“Do you like my music a lot?” He asked, smiling, and Xiaomi cleaned her eyes with the back of her hands, thinking she was hallucinating, but when she confirmed it was Richard Lawson that was sitting beside her, she screamed and passed out.
“Miss, are you all right?” Richard asked, tapping the fainted Xiaomi, while the rest of the students looked at them.

≤ ADRIAN’S MANSION ≈ SAME-DAY≥
A slap landed on Isa’s face and she fell to the ground, crying. “What kind of stupid grandchild are you? You can’t do anything right! Do you know how difficult it was to get you into Calvin Klein? And yet you fainted the moment cameras started clinking on your face. You should have advertise their products, don’t fainting!!” Rebecca shouted at her.
Isa didn’t go to school today, because both Debra and Rebecca took her to Calvin Klein company in Los Angeles. They wanted her to be ambassador of the brand, just like Jane’s daughter who is an ambassador of Dior Brands.
“I am sorry Grandma, I will do my best next time” She said, crying also standing up but Debra slapped her too, and she fell again. The first slapped was from Rebecca.
“That’s what you always say, but you never change! Why can’t you be like other kids!!!” Rebecca shouted at her, and Isa stood up from the floor.
“Because I am not like those kids who are free with cameras. If you know what I really want then you won’t be scolding me this way. I’m trying my best, I do hope you can see it!” Isa said and ran out of the house crying.
“Isa” Debra said trying to go after Isa, but Rebecca held her hand.
“Let her be Debra. She needs to learn that she’s has to do better than Kayla”
“But she’s your granddaughter, Mom”
“She’s not my granddaughter. She’s just a child born out of wedlock. Our plans about Jane’s R@PE failed, we have to come up with another idea to make her suffer. I h@tës it that she’s successful, her kind deserve to be a pauper forever”
“What are you planning on doing this time?” Debra asked.
“This is where Stephanie comes in” Rebecca said, smirking.

≤ SAME DAY ≈ PLAYGROUND ≥
Isa sat on the swing, cleaning her tears which kept producing itself from her eyes. She was actually waiting for Kayla, because she called her.
“Isa” Kayla called her name when she arrived at the playground. Isa pouted her lips, she rushed to where Kayla was standing, and hugged her, crying.
“What’s wrong, Isa? You weren’t in school today, why?” Kayla asked patting her, and Isa kept crying.

“So your mom and grandma don’t know you have passion for modeling and not being in front of cameras?” Kayla asked, few minutes later, and Isa nodded her head.
“Just tell them that you’re afraid of being on cameras”
“I can’t do that Kayla. I’m afraid of my mom and Grandma. I can’t possibly tell them about it”
“Then talk to your dad. He is easy to talk with”
“You know my dad?”
“Yes I do. I met him some days ago, and he talked about you. He loves you a lot, I’m sure he’d listen to you”
“Yes he is going to listen to me and support me. He asked me lots of times what I really want to do, but I kept telling him, I want to be in front of cameras”
“Why?” Kayla asked.
“Because I don’t want my mom and dad to argue because of me. I h@të it when they shout at each other. If my dad knows about my love for drawing, he will try his best to support me, which will bring argument between my dad and my mom. I don’t want that” Isa said, sadly.
“You’re a good kid, Isa. Do you want to come with me?”
“Where?”
“My house. My mom is a nice person, and she’d welcome you with a nice meal” Kayla said, and Isa smiled.

≤ ADRIAN’S MANSION ≈ NIGHT ≥
“So you mean Isa hasn’t come back home after you scold her, and yet you didn’t bother to look for her? What kind of a mom are you!!” Adrian shouted at Debra.
“That daughter of yours is useless. She can’t do anything right!” Rebecca said.
“With all due respect mom, I’d say you should shut up and stop calling my daughter useless. If something bad happens to Isa, then this stupid marriage of ours is over!” Adrian said, before calling Isa, and she picked after few rings.
“Hello Isa, where are you? Daddy is worried about you”
“I am fine dad. I’m at Kayla’s house, I’m having dinner with her and her mom.
“Pass me the glass, Kayla” Jane said, and Adrian could hear her voice from the phone. Even with his eyes closed, he can know it’s Jane when she speaks.
“You’re at Jane’s house?” He asked with widen eyes, and both Debra and Rebecca looked at him.

≤ JANE’S MANSION ≈ SAME NIGHT ≥
“Thanks for welcoming me in your house, Aunt. You’re so kind” Isa said, smiling.
“You’re Kayla’s friend, of course I should be nice to you. You’re so cute”
“Thanks Aunt”
“I also have another friend, her name is Xiaomi. I will bring her home one of these days”
“Sure. I will be happy to cook for Xiaomi and cute Isa” Jane said, and Isa laughed.
A knock came on the door, a maid open the door, Adrian, Debra and Rebecca entered.
“Mom!” Isa called her and Jane look at Debra.
“She’s your daughter?” Jane asked.
“Yes. Isa is my daughter, and even if she and Kayla are half siblings, I won’t let them to get along!!” Debra said unknowingly.
“Half siblings? What’s that supposed to me? Jane is Kayla my daughter?” Adrian asked, looking surprised.
