Charles looked at everyone that were staring at him weirdly, he touched his ears hoping to find his EarPods but there was none. He always plugged an empty EarPod to his ear since he got acquitted with Violet, but he stopped recently since she possessed Carolyn.
“Charles, we need to bring her to the hospital,” Violet said, and they both rushed to Carolyn.
An ambulance arrived few minutes later, and Carolyn was attended to.
“Who is with her?” the paramedic asked, and they all looked at Charles.
“Me. I’m with her,” Charles said, biting his lips.
“You have to come with us, sir,”
“Yes, I should,”

Charles denied knowing Carolyn at the hospital, and claimed to have just met her that day. So the only information he could give them was her name.
After a few words with the doctor, he settled the hospital expenses and went out to look for Violet who was in Carolyn’s ward.
“We should leave,” he muttered, and she looked at him.
“She will be fine, right?”
“Try asking the doctor,” with that, he left, and she scoffed.

Charles returned to his car and was startled to see Violet there.
“I don’t think I can get used to this ever again,” he grumbled.
“What do we do now?” Violet asked.

“About Carolyn,”
“Why is it “we”? Theo last time I checked, I have no relationship with her, neither you “
“Are you back to being arrogant?”
“I have always been. You’re the one who changed but you’re back to being a ghost,”
“I hope she will be fine,”
“It’s just a minor fall, but hard enough to kick you out of her body. This is good news from my end, we were so walked up thinking of a way to get you out. And here you are. No one thought about rolling down an escalator,” he said, and she glared at him.
“Are you being serious right now? An innocent girl almost died because of me?!”
“Why are you yelling at me? I wasn’t the one who made you possess her or push you down the escalator. It was all your doing, so you don’t expect me to feel empathy for that,”

“Now it felt like everything is back to normal. Just few days as a human and I almost forget how to live like a ghost,”

Carolyn opened her eyes at the hospital, she looked around confused on where she was when she saw the drip being passed to her body.
“Hospital?” she thought, wondering how she ended there and how a hospital ward could be that large.
Shs looked around in confusion when a nurse entered the room.
“You’re awake. That’s a relief. I’m going to get the doctor,” the nurse said, and she nodded slightly.
The nurse returned with the doctor few minutes later and he explained how she got there and who brought her there.
“What did you called his name?” she managed to ask because from everything he was blabbering, that was the only word that matters to her.
“Mr. Dylan Hewlett. He was a kind stranger, he said you met briefly,”
“At a shopping mall?”
“Yes, ma’am,” he said, and she looked at him.
The last thing she remembered was trying to jump in the road but Ivy and the ghost stopped her.
“What could’ve happened to me?” she thought.
The doctor left later and the nurse returned with a package delivered to her.
She unboxed the package and was surprised to see all her belongings there.
“What? Who sent this?” she thought.
Her rent already expired, but the house agent can’t possibly search for her to send her belongings, when they could just throw it out.
She went to the nurse to ask about the sender but got no helpful response “it was sent through a dispatcher “ with no information about the sender.
“Oh, Miss Vee, I’m glad you are fine,” a lady said, walking up to Carolyn.
Carolyn looked at the lady and glanced around wondering who the lady was talking to.
“Miss Vee, I came here to thank you properly,” the lady said.
“Me?” Carolyn asked, pointing at herself.
“Yes. I’m the mother of the child you saved from falling. I was a careless mother, but thanks to you my baby was safe. I really can’t thank you enough,”
“Me? I saved your child?”
“Yes. At the shopping mall. Can’t you remember?”
“The shopping mall…”
“You’re probably still stressed from the incidence, I shouldn’t bother you more. I’ll get going now. Thanks again for everything,” she said, and turned to leave.
“Wait!”

“What did you called me earlier?”

Mr. Josh hired an accurate source to fish out everything they could get on Carolyn Wilson, and he looked at all the reports.

After exchanging pleasantries, Mr. Feng stared at the door like he was looking for something.
“Vee won’t be here today, incase you’re expecting her,” Charles said.
“Oh. You said you’d bring her along. I personally made the request “
“Yeah. But something came up. There was an emergency from her side, so she won’t make it,”
“Oh. Then let’s adjourn the meeting,”
“What? We can always continue the meeting with us two. Mr. Feng is here as the witness,”
