THIRTY TWO
“What do you mean?” He asked as he sat up.
“You told me that years ago vampires had began to feed on human and that’s why they all had to be killed. Well the people who had been assigned to kill those Vampires had been called a slayer and my father was amongst those slayer”she said softly.
“He killed a lot of them and also killed your father”She added and when he sat still not saying a thing. She hurriedly added.
“See why I told you we cannot be! I cannot live the rest of my life knowing that my father killed your father” She said softly.
“It all happened years ago. We shouldn’t let the past disrupt our love”He finally spoke up.
“The past will surely be a hindrance because my father will be back soon and once he knows that you are a vampire. He will….he will try to kill you and I don’t want that. I don’t want that Louis”She said as the tears poured while he pulled her into his arms to hug her tight.
“I won’t die Rose. I won’t let him harm me”He said trying to cajole her but she knew that what he said was just mere words.
“I can’t risk it Louis. I can’t put you in danger. If you are with me then your life will always be in danger”Rose said softly.
Louis didn’t have the time to reply because his door was opened and his mother walked in.
Rose dived under the covers while Louis shield her.
“What are you doing here?”Louis asked.
“Tell her to leave. We have to talk”She said starring at the two love birds.
“Give us time to put on our clothes”Louis said and she left the room to give them the privacy they required.
They quickly got dressed and they were both heading out when Louis stopped Rose.
“No matter what happens. Don’t give up on us”He said as he kissed her on the head before letting her out.
He went to the study where is his mom was now occupying.
“Did you know about Rose when you told me not to get close to her but she is someone I need close to me?”he asked as soon as he got in.
“Yes”She replied.
“Explain to me”He requested
“You said she was your cure and that you don’t turn into a vampire If she is by your side that is why I told you to keep her close to you and the reason why I told you not to get too close to her is because of her father. She must have told you about him?”She asked Louis who nodded
“Now that it has come to this. I suggest that you keep that girl out of your life. She is a danger towards you”His mother said.
“I don’t want to”Louis replied.
“If you stay with her. She will only bring harm towards you. Let’s leave the city. Let’s get away from here and everything”His mother persuaded.
“I won’t do it mom! I won’t run away from this! If he comes back to hurt me then so be it. I won’t leave Rose”He said
“Is Rose all you can think of?”She yelled at him.
“She is all I can think of mom. Am sorry if am not paying attention to you this time but am not willing to leave Rose just because of her father”He said as he left the study.
Rose got back home feeling uneasy. She didn’t know why she is suddenly feeling uneasy. She thought as she walked into restaurant heading up stairs when she heard a familiar voice say.
“Hello Rose”
She turned to see her father seated, while beaming her a smile.
