NOT ME…chapter 17
….we all rushed to were she was,,,and quickly took her to the hospital,, she was unconscious…. Soon we arrived at the hospital, she was taken to the emergency ward,and attended to..
Father who has been ranging mad at mother since all these started was really worried for his wife,he started praying and begging God to spare his wife,he still needed her alive,that he couldn’t go through all these by himself…. We were all in panic,,,after some time ,the doctor came and informed us ,she had suffered a heart attack,,,and that she was also stressed, because her BP was very high,, we all stood and prayed hoping God will take control… It was late,and the nurses asked us to go home, that only one person is allowed to be with her for the night,, father immediately said he would stay with his wife,,,all means to convince father to allow me stay proved abortive, so we all had to come back home, leaving father and mother at the hospital…
The next day we went back,took food for both of them, in case Mother regains herself,,,,we got there, and mother was still the same,,,, father, had his bath and changed his cloths, he also ate the breakfast we brought for him,,,we all prayed for mother to get better, after some hours, she was conscious, We ran in to get the doctor who checked her,he said she was improving, but can’t be discharged yet,because she has to be examined…
Some hours later,,a nurse came to check up on mother,,,getting to her ward,she saw me and was very shocked, that, the tray in her hands fell off…
What is it, we all asked her,how did you get here,she was asking me in shock,,what are you talking about, do I know you,I asked her,are you not the same person I just finished attending to that was unconscious, how did you get here ,we turned to each other, I then shouted ,MY SISTER IS HERE…..
Mom who was lying on the bed quickly jumped up,,,, the Nurse was even more confused now, what’s going on, she asked no one in particular Nurse please take us to that person you are talking about,,,, please, take us to her ward,Nurse Bola added,,,,what’s happening,,, she asked again,,, you would not understand, Nurse,but please, we have to see that person,please we beg you ,Derrick added…okay then follow me,,,she lead the way…
I had a missed feeling as we walked to the ward,,the misery Girl is about to unfolded at long last….soon we got to the ward,, lo and behold another human being JUST LIKE ME,lying so unconscious on the bed…..
Mother and father wept,so did everyone, it was tears of joy…she was still unconscious and didn’t even notice our presence…. Nurse Bola decided we place a call to Mrs Gloria, because she will be in the best position to narrate everything to Faith,,,, we agreed she was right,and a call was placed to Mrs Gloria, soon she was there with her husband.. We asked the Nurse what had happened to her,, she said, she had stolen from a market woman,who had raised alarm,apparently the girl was weak and hungry,so with few slaps and punches,she had passed out…..
My parent wept bitterly,,, Mrs Gloria and husband were really sorry and ashamed of themselves… After some hours,,, Faith woke up,she was weak,and tired,,, but when she saw her adopted parent,, there was fire in her eyes,,what do you want here, what are you doing here,she tried to shout,but she was too weak to,,,,,,what are you doing here she asked again..
We want you to meet someone,, Mrs Gloria said,,,then I came out,,, immediately my sister saw me,she passed out again,probably out of shock,seeing,someone who looked just like her,first time in her life…..
Mother ran to call the doctor, who revived her,and asked everyone out of the room,, he asked us to leave the ward,and hold any discussion that would pose as shock to his patient….
I was the main shock for Faith, so I was asked to go home,,mother, father,nurse Bola, Derrick,Mrs Gloria and husband stayed with her
Mom and I went back home…
