Charles went to his room and saw Violet there.
“You are here,” Charles said, confused on the right words to say.
“Hun,” she grumbled.
“You were really upset earlier, I understand. But you shouldn’t have said those words to Jayden. I mean… the guy also messed up, but you can’t just cut him off like that,”
“I know. I’m just trying to get the truth out of him,”
“By cutting him off?”
“I don’t want to believe our allegations, but he doesn’t trust us with the truth either. This is his chance to come clean, it’s either he leave or try to redeem himself,”
“Oh, I love that static,”
“I thought you don’t like Jayden but here you’re trying to plead on his behalf,”
“When did I do that?”
“That’s what you’re doing,”
“Of course not. Anyways, he might be a jerk, but he is a cool guy,” he said, and she chuckled.
“But I wasn’t pleading on his behalf!” he snapped.
“Yes, I understand,” she teased before leaving.
“Where on earth did she go?” he grumbled, laying flat on his bed.
**
Violet went to Carolyn’s room and met her there in company of Jayden.
“I thought I asked yo to leave!” Violet snapped.
“I’m sorry for what I said about Ella, I didn’t mean it,”
“We all say things we don’t mean, and even if we are sorry about them, it changes nothing. You don’t believe in us, you can’t even share your problems with us because you believe we can’t help you so… just leave, Jayden. You know I sincerely appreciate all you’ve done, but turn out we have to part this way,”
“Ok. I also enjoyed the time I spent with you all. Let’s really part here,” Jayden said.
“You know what, Jayden, we can actually end this in a better note. You will leave eventually and be forced to say goodbye even though we don’t want to. So why leave on bad terms?” Charles said, entering the room.
“Charles,” Violet called, and he smiled before winking at Carolyn who texted him to come.
“I also didn’t believe that Violet could help me before I shared my problems, well… I never even realized I had one. And sharing problems is a way to rely on each other even if we can’t help you, let’s all share the burden, you can’t be strong alone. That’s what team does, we’re a team,” Charles said, and they all looked at him.
“Charles is right, Jayden, we’re a team, we should rely on each other,” Violet said.
“A team?” Jayden grumbled.
“Yes, we’re all in this together as a team,” Carolyn added.
“I don’t know what to call the purpose of our team, but let’s work together to make everything work. Whatever it may be “ Charles said, and extended his hand towards them.
“Yes, let’s make it work,” Violet said and placed her hand on his.
“Let’s make it work,” Carolyn said and did the same,
“Let’s make it work,” Jayden muttered and did the same.
“Yayyyy!” the all chorused and throw thier hand in the air.

They all went to the living room later, and paid attention to Jayden to hear his story.
“You got it all wrong earlier, I wasn’t trying to be with my wife through others, I was trying to help her,” he said, and exhaled heavily.
“We apologize for misunderstanding you,” Violet said.
“I grew up in an orphanage home, I led a carefree life because nothing really mattered, no matter how I live, others will always look down on me and judge me but everything changed when I met my wife in high school, she gave me a purpose and a reason to become a better person. We started as friends, and she proposed to me. I didn’t have the leverage to propose to her first but when she did I accepted her— more reasons to do better, to put in my all and I was able to secure a scholarship to college. I developed interest in game development and was already good at it even before I graduated from college and invented a game. Everything was falling in place and after I graduated I established my own organization. Running a rookie company was time consuming and it took most of my time, we barely spent time together but we were cool, she was also preoccupied with her own life but everything changed when she proposed to me again to get married in order to escape her parents who were trying to arrange marriage for her. We got married eventually but I was still preoccupied with work, unlike many other couples we couldn’t even enjoy a proper honeymoon and barely spent time together. I thought she understood until that day…”

FLASHBACK***
*
Jayden wrapped up his meeting and his secretary gave him his phone that didn’t stop ringing from his wife’s call.
He smiled tiredly and returned the call.
📞*Hi, sweetheart, I just wrap up a meeting, you won’t believe I’m one step ahead of landing that deal I told you about. Seriously. I’ll make sure to return to the city with good news tomorrow,. I’ll call you later when I get to the hotel, love you,* with that, he dropped the call and exhaled heavily.
He returned to the hotel later and fell asleep before he could call as promised and woke up the following day when his secretary woke him up.
“Sir, your meeting with Mr. Jack is by 10,” he said, and Jayden nodded.
“Yeah, I’ll be right out,”
His phone rang later and he picked it up without checking the caller.
📞*Hello,*
📞*My love, I’m running late for a meeting. This is the final meeting to seal the deal, wish me luck. Love you,* with that, he dropped the call.
He successfully landed the deal and called his wife to share the news but she screened his calls, after calling severally, he sent a message to her.
“Sir, the team are waiting for a team dinner,” his secretary staid.
“You guys can go ahead, enjoy the dinner, it’s on the company,”
“Sir, what about you?”
“I have to return home, I have missed my wife,”
“Awww… you suddenly made me feel lonely. But sir, we all put in our best because we look forward to having dinner with you. I believe that having this feast together will really encourage us to do better,”
“You’re right. You all did a good job, let’s celebrate together,”
“Yay! That’s the spirt,” his secetary said, and they both laughed.
They were all enjoying the team and dinner when a message beeped into his phone from his wife.
💬*You promised me that everything will be better once the company stands firmly, you promised to have more time for me, more time for us so let’s wait till then. Let’s end this, Jayden. Yesterday was our 10th year anniversary but you have totally forgotten that. I feel like you’ve forgotten all about us and all you care about now is your company. I feel more lonely now that we are married than when we were dating, i wish we never got married so let’s make things right. Just until your company stand firmly, when you think you will have time for us, let’s get back together. I’m leaving with the first flight tomorrow morning, don’t look for me until you’re ready for us. I’ll leave the divorce papers behind so do the needful* it reads.
His eyes almost popped out of its sockets after he reed the message. He never forget their anniversary before, it has been one of the most important date in his life since he was in high school so he didn’t set it in his reminder but he was too busy yesterday to think about anything.
“Sir, is everything alright?” his secretary asked, but he ignored him.
He excused himself and dialed his wife’s number but it sent him straight to voicemail.
He tried to buck a flight but there was no ticket available for the night. He didn’t know what got over him as he drove off with intention to drive back home even though it will take many hours and he had an accident on his way.

FLASHBACK ENDS***
*
Jayden concluded his story leaving them all in shock. He appeared strong, but no one could know that he has such story.
“I’m so sorry about…” Violet grumbled, confused on what to say.
“You must really miss her,” Charles said.
“I do. But I’m not trying to fill my yearning by possessing others. I was just trying to help her move on,” he muttered.
“How?” Charles repeated.
“She blamed herself for everything and continued the workaholic lifestyle I left behind to punish herself. She strain herself with work, and..” he stopped halfway trying to held back tears, and Violet went to seat next to him to comfort him.
“It’s fine, Jayden,”she assured, and he nodded.
“She took over the company and worked tirelessly neglecting herself. That’s not what I want for her, I wanted her to move on and live happily. I have tried to possess as many people as I can to help her, but it’s… it just never work. I have been doing that for years, but she is determined on working herself till the end,”
“That’s why you said we can’t be of help,” Charles said.
“Exactly. Because I also don’t know how to help her,”
“That must’ve been why you were away for many days,” Violet said.
“It’s all for nothing,” he muttered.
“Everything will be fine, Jayden, I’m sure of it,” Violet assured, and he nodded.
**
Everything returned back to normal, Charles returned to thinking about the right decision while Violet returned to possessing Carolyn’s body to attend school, while Jayden appears whenever he pleases.
Ivy and Carolyn/Violet were heading to the cafeteria to have lunch when Nic (Jon’s friend) approached them.
“Hi, Ivy, and… hi,”
“Hi,” they chorused.
“Have you been in touch with Jon?” Nic asked.
“No,”
“But I saw you two together few days ago,”
“And that’s where it ends,”
“Seriously, what can I do with this guy?” Jon grumbled.
“Is there a problem?” Carolyn asked.
“I have been unable to reach him these days. His phone has been turned off, and… never mind,”
“Why not check on him at home?” Ivy said.
“He left home after the issue with his father. I thought he told you about that,”
“So where does he live now?”
“He moved in with me but moved out later. He promised to reach out but… I’ll get going, sorry to disturb you,” with that, he left.
Ivy and Carolyn went to the cafeteria and Ivy started picking on her meal.
“Thinking about Jon?”
“I thought I have forgotten about him but Nic suddenly brought it all back. What if something happened to him?”
“How will we know that? Try calling him,”
“I deleted his number,”
“Opps, that’s harsh,”
“I know, right?”
“What can you do now that you’re worried?”
“The hotel,”
“What hotel?”
“The hotel we— I mean, the hotel I stayed before moving in with Mr. Marson. Jon recommended that hotel, he said their service felt like home,”
“Should we check it out?” Violet asked.
“I don’t have his number, and I don’t even know the room he will be. What if he isn’t there to begin with?”
“There is a way to find out,” Violet said.
*
Violet left Carolyn’s body and explained the situation to Carolyn, she followed Ivy to the hotel and started checking all the rooms before she find him.
“I found him, it’s room 56,” Violet said.
“He is in room 56,” Carolyn said, and Ivy nodded in disbelief.
“My sister… told me that…” she shuddered.
“Come on, Ivy. You should go now,” Violet said.
“Ivy, you should go,” Carolyn said.
“Thank you, Carolyn, thank you, sis,” she said, and hurried away.
She went to the room and knocked gently but didn’t get a respond. She knocked vigorously before he opened the door looking unkept.
“Ivy,” he called in surprise.
“Jon, what happened to you?”
He dragged her in and embraced her.
“Thanks for coming,”
They both went to seat on the bed later and he bowed his head speechlessly.
“Why’re you doing this to yourself?”
“How else can I live? No body believes in me, my family cut ties with me, and you did the same I feel like I’m all alone in this world. What’s the point of everything when it won’t even make a difference?”
“You said you wanted to prove something to your father, how will you do that if you lock yourself away like this?”
“You believe me?”
“Yes, I believe you. Are we good now?”
“But you still want to end it, right?”
“Jon…”
“I understand. If you’re worried, I want you to know that I’m not this way because of you. It wasn’t because we broke up. And you’re right, we should separate in good terms. I’m sorry for everything, Ivy, let’s be friends at least,” he said, and extend his hand for a shake.
“How can we be friends when we were never friends?”
“But…”
“Never lie to me again, I don’t know if I can bear any more lies,”
“Ivy,”
“Can’t you promise?”
“I have something to say,”
“You’ve another lie to confess?”
“I love you, that was never a lie,”
“I know. I believe that,” she said, and kissed him.

**
Jayden appeared in Charles living room and they all looked at him. It was Maxwell’s first hearing, and he attended to watch the outcome.
“How did it go?” Charles asked.
“He might likely be found guilty,” Maxwell said.
“Oh, this is bad,” Violet muttered.
“How?” Charles snapped.
“Ella will gladly put all her crimes on Maxwell, and he won’t be able to escape it,”
“Gosh, what we do we now?” Charles grumbled.
“The only way is to separate them. Let’s bring Maxwell to our side,” Jayden said.
“What?” they all chorused.
“I don’t know how that will help, but even if that might help, it’s not possible. He is in jail,” Charles said.
“Just follow my lead. If we want to win Ella, Maxwell is the only one that can help us beat her,” Jayden said, and they all looked at him, confused.
