Carolyn arrived at school the following day and Ivy walked up to her.
“Hi, sis,”
“Ivy… hi,”
“You— you aren’t my sister,”
“Yes…”
“What happened to my sister?”
“Charles has a meeting, so she accompanied him,”
“I apologize for disappointing you. You must’ve really been hoping that it was your sister,”
“Not really. It’s nice to have you here,”
“I can sense how insincere that sounds,” Carolyn said, and she chuckled.
“How are you? Your sister told me what happened,”
“I’m fine,”
“Are you sure? You should’ve skipped school today,” she said, and Ivy shook her head.
“Nah. I’m stronger than that. I don’t understand why I’m not so affected by all these. It all ended yesterday after I broke up with him, the heartbreak and disappointment, they all ended there,”
“Are you sure?”
“Is it abnormal for me to feel this way?”
“I don’t know either,”
“Since we are both clueless, let’s agree that it’s normal and go to class. We are running late for the first class,” Ivy said and held her hand.
Together, they both ran to their class but stopped on their track when they saw Bryan. He looked away the moment their gaze met, and entered the class.
“Why is he so scared of you?” Ivy asked.
“Not me. But you. Violet taught him a lesson. He is terrified of you,” she said, and chuckled.
“Oh,” Ivy muttered, chuckling softly.
They both went to seat and Bryan walked up to them, he dropped a note on Ivy’s desk before leaving.
📝*spare me a minute after class, I won’t take much of your time* it reads and she looked up to see him staring at her from a far.
“Will you talk to him?” Carolyn asked.
“Let’s find out what he has to say,” Ivy said and trashed the note away.
The class was cancelled by the lecturer due to personal reasons and they all vacate the hall.
Carolyn and Ivy were about leaving the hall when Bryan blocked thier path.
“Carolyn, go ahead. I’ll follow,” Ivy said, and Carolyn nodded before leaving.
“How do you get along with her? She freaks me out,” Bryan whined.
“What do you want?” she snapped.

They both went to the cafeteria together and he insisted that she ordered at least coffee
“Did you broke up with Jon?”
“It must’ve been fun watching me date your best friend. And yes, I broke up with him,”
“Was it because of me?” he asked, and she rolled her eyes.
“You’re so fo0l of yourself. My world doesn’t revolve around you, so mind your own business!” she blurted, and stood up to leave but he held her back.
“Jon is different from me. We might be best friends, but we have different personalities. Jon is a better person,”
“Serious, you must be kidding me right now. To h£ll with you and your friend!” she snapped before leaving.
She get outside and saw Jon, she avoided him and take another route but he ran up to her.
“Ivy, wait!” he shouted, and held her.
“Hi, Jon. How’s your fist?” she asked, confusing him.
“Ivy, does that mean we’re cool now?”
“Cool as friends, yes. But nothing more,”
“Ivy…”
“I already made myself clear, Jon. I don’t want us to end on bad note but if you keep this up, you might as well forget about us being friends,” with that, she left.

Charles meeting with his father went well beyond thier expectations, although he still refused to reinstate the shares but instead he proposed that Charles work in the company. Mr. Marson and Charles left and adjourned thier response to another meeting.
They went to the car and Violet looked at Charles who doesn’t seem pleased.
“If you ask me, accepting your father’s offer is the best,” Violet said, and Charles scoffed.
“That’s just his way of keeping me under his watch,” Charles said.
“Sir?” Mr. Marson said, and Mr. Feng chuckled.
“Ermm… I was just thinking about the offer,”
“It’s a fair deal if you ask me. If you will accept it, we will back it with a pact,” Mr. Marson said.
“Can you elaborate?”
“You can work for a few years, and reclaim your shares later on,”
“Must I give in to him?”
“No. If you want us to go with our initial motive, we can proceed with the lawsuit if he refuses,”
“What do you think?” Charles asked Violet.
“If you ask my opinion, I thought I said it earlier,” Mr. Marson said.
“We shouldn’t rush it. You can take your time to think about what you really want,” Violet advised, and he nodded.
Mr. Marson alighted at the bus station close to his office and Mr. Feng drove Charles home.

Violet left Charles to think about the best choice while she wandered around searching for Jayden. Since he mentioned his wife and left, he haven’t shown himself again. He is always in various places so she doesn’t know the right place to find him.
She thought that he’d be at Charles house waiting for them because he wasn’t interested in thier meeting but he wasn’t, so she tried various places that she could think of before giving up and returning home.
“I can’t find Jayden,” she said the moment she appeared in Charles room.
“Hello, wrong person to whine to. I’m not his keeper!” Charles snapped.
“Can you believe that Jayden has a wife?”
“Can ghosts get married?” he asked bavk.
“Before he became a ghost, turn out she is the reason why he couldn’t cross,”
“What? Another vengeful ghost? How did he dled? Did she cheat on him as well?”
“Not that. He is probably yearning for her. He didn’t tell me the full story. He only said he had a wife and left,”
“So, did that disturb you?”
“Charles, personally, I’m not interested in Jayden. He is helping me and I’m grateful, that’s where it ends,” she said, and his face brightened.
“Who’re you interested in?”
“Charles, can we return to our earlier discussion? I only said that to clarify my intentions to you,”
“Jayden is discreet about himself, we should respect that. I can’t believe that I’m entangled with two married ghosts,” he said, and Violet laughed.

Charles deliberate on what to do as days passed, the next meeting with his father was scheduled to a week and he can’t seem to come to a decision.
While Charles consumed himself in his thoughts, Violet was all over the place trying to find Jayden who hasn’t shown himself for days.
Everyone occupied themselves with different activities, Charles with his thoughts, Violet was searching for Jayden, while Carolyn was enjoying her school life with Ivy who have completely moved on from Jon.
Charles has been indoor without going out the past days until his friends forced him out emphasizing on how urgent it was.
His closest friend went to pick him up from home and Violet followed behind them as they drove to a hotel.
“Gabby, what urgent business do we have here?” Charles asked.
“Lose up, man. I heard about the drama with your father,”
“I’m just trying to get a life,”
“And this is also a part of your life,”
“What exactly are we to do here?”
“What do you think? You’ll find out,” he winked.
“He is trying to drive you back to your old life,” Violet said.
They all went in and Gaby lead the way to the table they reserved to meet five of his other friends there in company of ladies.
“Charles, I can’t believe Gabby has to drag you out to hang out with one,” one said.
“I’m sorry, man. I just had a lot going on,” Charles said, and they all exchanged greetings.
“Charles, we thought he was hospitalized,” Gabby teased.
“Charles, look who we have here,” one of them gestured, and a lady approached their table.
“Miranda,” Charles called in disbelief. She was one of the ladies in his target list, but he never had a chance with her.
“Hi, honey,” Miranda said, and embraced him, while Violet scoffed.
“Miranda?” Gabby said and shook his head.
Charles never indicate people he is interested in with thier full names, he always find a way to bring an acronym out of their manes.
“The guy is lost,” one is his other friend said.
“She will save him,” another added.
“It’s a group blind date but seem like it’s not a blind date to you,” Gabby tessed.
“You dragged me out for a blind date? Was that the urgent business?” Charles asked, and they all looked at him.
“Hey, man. We all have a life of our own but look at us here looking out for you. Do you know the trouble Dan went through to bring Miranda here?” one of his friends snapped.
“You should have all saved the trouble,” he muttered.
“Are you sure about that?” Miranda asked, creasing his face gently.
“You might need this,” Gabby winked, and gave him a room card.
“Oh, birds of same feather,” Violet said, and teleported away.
“Wait—“ he wanted to shouted, and Miranda kissed him while her fingers gently unbuttoned his shirt.
Charles exhaled heavily and gently pushed her away.
“It’s nice meeting you, Miranda. I gotta run,” with that, he hurried out.
“Hey! Charles!” Gabby and two others shouted after him.
“Vee, Vee!” he shouted, trying to find Violet.
“Maybe she went back home,” he thought, and took his phone to call Mr. Feng.
“Do you think you can find a ghost just by calling out her name?” he heard someone say behind him, and he turned to see an unfamiliar man.
“Who’re you?” he asked.
“Someone who knows where Vee is,” he replied and Violet joined them.
“He is Jayden. He possessed this body,”
“Oh, but why?” Charles asked.
“Logan, we’re good to go,” a lady called out, and Jayden left.
“What’s that?” Charles grumbled.
“She could be his wife,” Violet said, and Charles eyes widened.
“Is he trying to be with her in others body?” Charles gasped, and Violet gasped too as they watch them.
“I’ll be right back,” Violet said, and appeared next to Jayden.
“You didn’t eat anything during the meeting,” Jayden said to the lady.
“That’s why it’s a meeting. And you also disappeared,” she remarked.
“To get you this,” he said, and gave her the ice-cream with him
“Logan, I’ll drive. Let’s bid farewell from here,” she said, and collected the car keys from him.
Jayden watched her drive off and stopped a Twix before leaving the body.
Violet held his hand immediately, and together they appeared in Charles house.
“What do you think you’re doing Jayden? Is that your reason for staying back?” Violet blurted.
“What do you know?” he grumbled.
“This isn’t right, Jayden. No matter now much you miss her, trying to be with her by possessing others is utterly pathetic!”
“What?”
“Vee is right, Jayden. What you’re doing is pathetic,” Charles said, joining them.
“What are you two even saying? You don’t know anything so stop acting like you do!” Jayden snapped.
“We can’t know because you never tell us anything,” Charles said.
“There is nothing for say. You can’t help me in anyways, so I have no reason to share anything with you “ Jayden said.
“My mentor always tells me that a problem shared is—“ Violet was saying, but Jayden cut in.
“That’s rich coming from someone who hasn’t solved her problems halfway,” he said, and pointed at the TV, displaying Ella in an advertisement on Martin’s enterprise.
“If you still can’t beat her, you can’t help me,” he added.
“Ok. Then I don’t need you either because it’s clear that you don’t believe that I can beat her. You don’t trust us, so we have no reason to work together,” having said that, Violet teleported away.
“You heard her,” with that, Charles returned to his room leaving Jayden dumbfounded.
