“Stop right there, Debra!” Adrian said when Debra was going to her room. “And you too, mom” He said, looking at them with rage.
“Dad” Isa called his name calmly.
“Go to your room Isa”
“Dad.. ”
“Just go to your room Isadora. I don’t want to get mad at you too” Adrian said, trying not to shout at Isa.
Isa looked at her dad, and nodded her head. Anytime he calls her full name it means he is angry.
“I will be in my room… Dad” She said and went upstairs.
Adrian waited until Isa was out of sight before talking. “Start explaining everything you both knew to me. Jane and I had a daughter and you said nothing about it!”
“And why should we tell you about it Adrian, so you can have a perfect family picture with her!!!” Debra shouted at him.
“It’s not about having a perfect family picture with her Debra, you both knew about this, and yet you didn’t say a word to me. How long have you known about this? Answer me!!!” He shouted at the both of them and they flinched.
“It’s all in the past, you don’t have to dig up the past” Rebecca said.
“All in the past? For good fifteen years I was unaware about the child I had with Jane. The fruit of our love for each other was Kayla, and yet I didn’t know about her” Adrian said with saddened eyes.
“Fruit of your love? Have you forgotten that Jane never loved you? She only used you for her own selfish gain. You said it yourself that she used you just so she can see again!” Debra said.
“It doesn’t matter if she used me, Debra. Kayla is the fruit of my sincere love for Jane, so I want you to tell me how you got to know about Kayla. Answer me this instant, or this marriage of ours is over!”
“Mom” Debra said, looking at Rebecca.
“You are joking right? Debra is your wife and you both have a child together, you can’t divorce her”
“Couples with six children still divorce each other talk more of couples with just a child. I want to know how you both got to know about Kayla. Did you do a background check on Jane after you told me she left Dashie? Answer me, mom!!! I need answers!!!” He said with a mixture of rage and tears.
“Well Jane only left Dashie after she has given birth” Rebecca said.
“Wh-what? But you told me she left Dashie after I broke up with her, and that’s why I left Dashie. Debra only came to Australia because she was pregnant” Adrian said, looking confused.
“Well I lied to you” Rebecca muttered.
≤ FLASHBACKS ≈ FIFTEEN YEARS AGO ≥
Rebecca entered the house, and sees Adrian coming out from his room. He had traces of tears in his eyes, he has been crying because of Jane and had fallen asleep.
“Adrian. You’re awake?” Rebecca said, hoping Jane must have left. The day Jane came to see Adrian to tell him about their child, Rebecca had lied to her that Adrian already left Dashie.
Adrian never left Dashie for any county, he was inside the mansion soaking himself in tears.
“Yes I am. Was Jane here?” He asked.
“Jane? Why will Jane come here? You both already broke up” Rebecca said.
“Yeah I know, but I thought I heard her voice. She was crying and calling my name. Is she at the gate?” Adrian said, trying to go outside, but Rebecca held him.
“Jane is not here. Why will a golddigger come here to see you, Adrian? I’m sure you’re just daydreaming again. You need to forget about her and move on, stop crying over someone who already left Dashie”
“Jane already left Dashie?” Adrian asked with tears in his eyes.
“Yes she did, Adrian. I was about telling you when you cut me short by saying you heard Jane’s voice. Jane never came here Adrian”
“She already left Dashie? We just broke a month ago, so why will she just leave like that? Here I am soaking in tears, only to find out she has moved on” Adrian said, crying.
“It only means one thing, she never loved you the way you loved her, Adrian. You have to forget about her”
“It’s so hard for me to forget about her, Mom. I wasn’t joking when I said that I love Jane”
“I know that son, but you can’t be grieving because of her. Go to Australia”
“You want me to go to Australia?” He asked, sniffling.
“Yes. That’s the only way you can forget about Jane. You can also complete your education there”
“What about you Mom?”
“I will be fine son. All I want is for you to be okay. How about you leave for Australia tomorrow? That’ll be nice, right?” Rebecca asked. Adrian nod his head and hugged her, crying.

“Adrian left Dashie and you didn’t tell me about this? You said you were going to help me get back together with me, then why did you allow him go to Australia? He didn’t even say a word to me after having s*x with me!”
“You should be thankful I sent him to Australia before he found out about Jane”
“What are you talking about, Aunt?” Debra asked.
“Jane is pregnant”
“What!”
“Yes. It turns out that they both made love before their breakup. It was a good thing I lied to her that Adrian already left Dashie” Rebecca said.
“What are we going to do, Aunt? If Adrian finds out, he… ”
“He’s never going to find out, I will make sure of that” Rebecca said, and Debra sighed in relief.

Tears like rain fall down from Adrian’s eyes. He was in so much pains right now. “Now I see why you were in a hurry for me to leave Dashie. It’s because Jane was carrying my child. How can you have done that to me mom!!!”
“Why are you so angry? That girl used you, remember?”
“It doesn’t matter, Mom! Thinking about the fact that Lucas was a father to my own child breaks my heart a lot. I impregnated Jane, but I wasn’t there for her during the time she was pregnant or when she went into labor. I didn’t become a good father to Kayla, and it’s because of you two!”
“But thanks to that you were a responsible father to Isa” Debra said.
“How am I sure if Isa is my daughter?” Adrian asked, and tears fell down from Debra’s eyes.
“How can you say such words, Adrian?”
“You weren’t even a virgin when I slept with you. If you can lie about so many things just so I can be with you, it means you can lie about Isa being my daughter, just so you can pin me close to you”
“Isa is your daughter, Adrian” Rebecca said.
“I can never believe the both of you again. I’m going to conduct a DNA test on Isa, and if she is not my daughter, let’s call it quit. I h@të the both of you” Adrian said, and left the house.
“Adrian, please don’t leave me for Jane!” She said, crying.

≤ JANE’S MANSION ≈ SAME NIGHT ≥
“Adrian already know about Kayla?” Lucas with widen eyes.
“Yes. He came here with Debra and Rebecca unannounced. It turns out that Isa is her daughter with Adrian. Debra bursted everything out, and I had no other choice, but to tell him the truth” Jane said, cleaning her tears.
“But how did they know you were pregnant?” Lucas asked.
“I guess they had my whole life checked. They were the ones who hurts me, and yet they don’t want to leave me alone. I didn’t want Adrian to find out about Kayla and now he did. Why does he keep reminding me about the past that I badly want to forget?” She said crying, and Lucas hugged her.
“Stop crying Jane. Crying about the past makes it seem like you haven’t forgotten about him” Lucas said, patting her.
“I have Lucas. I don’t want Kayla to be in a good relationship with him. He can’t just become part of our lives when he wasn’t there when I needed him the most”
“That’s never going to happen mom” Kayla said, walking up to them, and Jane broke the hug with Lucas.
“Kayla” Jane muttered.
“I wasn’t joking when I said I h@të my dad for what he did to you. The few minutes will spent together was great, but it’s deleted from my memory. If I had knew he was my dad, I won’t have talked to him. I h@të him and I’m going to avoid him like plague, so you don’t have to worry about that mom” Kayla said and went closer to Lucas.
“You’re the only one I recognize as my dad no one else but you dad” Kayla said, hugging her. Lucas looked at Jane, and Jane smiled at him.

≤ GOLDEN WINE AND LIQUOR COMPANY ≈ NEXT DAY ≥
Beatrice was getting prepared to leave after she was done with her work at the company, when Ethan tiptoed to where she was, covering her eyes. Beatrice gasped and hit him so hard with her elbow.
“Ouch!” He winced in pain.
Beatrice covered her mouth when she realized it was her boss she hit, and not a stranger.
“Boss Ethan, are you alright?” She asked, helping him stand up to his feet.
“Are you a wrestler? You hit me so hard” Ethan said between pains.
“Sorry about that boss Ethan. I didn’t know it was you, I thought it was someone who’s trying to harass me”
“Harass you? Who will harss you in here?” Ethan asked, looking at him.
“Why did you cover my eyes?” She asked, and Ethan smiled.
“I just wanted you to guess who it was, but I guess you aren’t used to this kind of stuff. Will you be free tonight?” He asked with a smile.
“Tonight? Why?”
“Let’s eat out tonight”
“Why?” Beatrice asked again.
“I want to thank you yo for your help. Thanks to you we were able to grant the request of one of my biggest clients”
“Is it about the rice wine? You don’t have to treat me out on a lunch because of that” She said.
“It’s not just because of that, I also want to know you more. Let’s eat out tonight, and during dinner I want to get to know you” Ethan said, and Beatrice looked at him, gulping down hard.

≤ L•O•V•E RESTAURANT ≈ NIGHT ≥
Beatrice keep looking around the whole restaurant and at the same time, gulping down hard. “Are you nervous?” Ethan asked, and she quickly looked at him.
“Yes I am. I have never been to an expensive restaurant before, and I feel like I don’t belong here” She said.
“Then let’s go to a place you feel comfortable with” He said, trying to stand up, but Beatrice stopped him.
“It’s fine, Boss Ethan. You already ordered food, it’d be waste if we leave without eating it”
“Are you sure? I don’t mind leaving without eating, if you’re not comfortable here”
“I am okay. Let’s eat” Beatrice said, picking up her cutleries. She tries cutting the beef on her plate, but she was finding it difficult. Ethan looked at her and smiled.
“Let me help you with that” He said and took the plate of beef from her. He cut into big square shapes, before giving it back to her.
“Thank you”
Ethan smiled at her, and they began to eat. After few minutes, Beatrice looked at him. “What do you want to know about me?”
“What’s your favorite food”
“That will be steak and cheese”
“Steak and cheese. Noted”
“Huh?”
“How old are you?” He asked.
“I’m 31” She answered.
“31? But why does it look like you are twenty five?” Ethan said observing her body.
“Are you making jest of me?” She asked in return, and Ethan smiled.
“Sorry. Are you married?” Ethan asked, and Beatrice dropped her cutleries.
“Is everything okay? Did I ask something that doesn’t deserve an answer? Sorry if I….”
“You don’t have to say sorry boss Ethan. The truth is that I’m a single mother with two kids. They’re twins” Beatrice said.
“What about your husband?” He asked.
“He’s dead. So I am just the only one raising my kids”
“Impressive. It’s making me want to get more closer to you” He muttered.
“Did you say something?” She asked, pretending not to have heard him.
“I didn’t say anything” Ethan said and continue eating. Beatrice looked at him and smile.

“Thanks for treating me out on dinner, boss Ethan. I really enjoyed it” Beatrice said with a smile, when they came out of the restaurant.
“Then will you allow me treat you out on a nice meal again?” Ethan asked, smiling.
Beatrice was about answering when she spotted Xavier and Xiaomi approaching them.
“What the heck are they doing here?” She asked with widen eyes.
“Who?” Ethan asked.
“My kids”
“I thought your twins were babies?”
“No they are not babies. Sorry but I have to do this”
“Do what?” Ethan asked.
“Mom?”
Beatrice quickly pushed Ethan before Xavier and Xiaomi could see him, and he fell inside a trashcan and she covered it.
“Mom!” Xavier and Xiaomi called her, finally approaching her
“Kids!” She said, putting on a smile.
“What are you doing here, mom?” Xavier asked.
“I came to see someone”
“Then why are you near the trashcan?” Xiaomi asked, suspiciously.
“I was just helping my friend throw the trash away. What about you guys?” She asked.
“This restaurant happens to give free chicken to anyone who gets twenty of their coupons. Xiaomi and I were lucky to get 20 coupons and that’s why we are here” Xavier said, smiling.
“That’s nice, then go in an get it, I will wait for you both here”
“No mom, come with us” Xiaomi said, holding her hand.
“But… ”
“There’s no need for but. Come with us, we can eat the chicken inside together” Xavier said, and Xiaomi nod her head.
“I….. ”
“Let’s go” Xiaomi and Xavier said, dragging inside the restaurant, while Beatrice kept looking at the trashcan.
Ethan came out from the trashcan when he didn’t hear voices anymore. He sighed, dusting off the dirt in his body.
“Why are you inside a trashcan?” A man asked. Ethan looked at him and smiled lightly. “Things will do for love” He said and chuckled.

≤ STARLIGHT FASHION INDUSTRY ≈ SAME NIGHT ≥
“Cancel all my schedules for tonight, Joyce” Jane said, as she hung her Louis Vuitton bag on her shoulder.
“Are you going on a date?” Joyce asked, smiling.
“Yes. I’m going on a date with my daughter, so stop having rotten mind”
“I just want you to be happy, ma’am Jane”
“I am happy Joyce. See you tomorrow, my daughter will soon be here” Jane said with a smile and left the office. She was walking towards the exist of her industry when Adrian entered.
“What are you doing here, Adrian?” She asked.
“We need to talk, Jane” He said holding her hand, but Jane took her hand from him.
“We have nothing to talk about, Adrian”
“Of course we do. We have a child together, let’s talk so I can make up for all the times I wasn’t there for you and Kayla”
“You aren’t my dad” Kayla said from behind them, and Adrian looked at her.
“My daughter” He said approaching her. He tried to touch her, but Kayla snuggle backwards.
“I’m not your daughter. How can I be your daughter when you abandon my mom and I when we needed you the most!” Kayla shouted at him.
“Kayla, I am sorry, I didn’t know….. ”
“I don’t care if you knew or not Mr. Adrian. One thing is for sure, I will never accept you as my dad, not now, not tomorrow, and definitely not ever! You disgust me!!!” Kayla shouted at Adrian, and painful tears falls down from Adrian’s eyes.
