Violet was stunned the moment Charles’s lips touched hers, she left Carolyn’s body immediately, and Carolyn pulled away startling Charles to see Violet already out of the body.
“What…” Carolyn slurred.
“I, sorry!” Charles blurted, and ran to his room.
“What happened?” Carolyn asked, and Violet shook her head.
“Nothing. I’m sorry,” having said that, Violet teleported away.
**
Charles laid flat on his bed and started tossing and turning on the bed.
“What have you done, Charles?” he whined.
“Yes, you should answer that. What have you done?” he heard Jayden said, and he jotted up from bed.
“What? Why are you there? Did you saw it?”
“You kissed her?” Jayden said, and Charles gasped.
“You saw that?”
“Nah,”
“So… how did you know? She told you?”
“Not that either. But that could only be the reason you’re this disturbed,”
“What do I do?”
“I was like you when I had my first kiss. I don’t know what to do, but at the end, I ended up doing what I know best,”
“Which is?”
“That’s my secret,”
“Gosh. You’re not helping,”
“It’s not even your first kiss, so why make a fuss. Opps. Maybe first with a ghost,”
“You’re not helping,”
“What did she do? She pushed you away, I pressure,”
“That would have been better,”
“So, did she hit you, no. I’m curious,”
“She suddenly left Carolyn’s body, what does that mean?”
“That’s the worst,”
“What?” he muttered already anxious.
“Gosh, you should’ve been more careful,”
“What do I do? Please, help me this once,”
“I wish I could, but I’m just a ghost,” Jayden winked, and teleported away.
“What a dlck!” Charles yelled, and laid back on the bed.
“What do I do?” he whined, cuddling his blanket.

Ivy arrived home with Violet(ghost) trailing next to her. She has been so devastated and the only way to console herself was walking a long way around the street until she felt better.
She unlocked the door and went in to meet Mr. Marson and his wife waiting for her.
“Ivy, are you ok? Why didn’t you receive your calls? I was so worried, I already raised an alarm,” he said, and she embraced him in tears.
“Mr. Marson, can I remain like this for a moment before you scold me?” she cried, and he patted her back gently.
“It’s all right Ivy, I don’t know what happened but trust when I say it’s going to be fine. You’re a strong woman, you’re stronger than you think,”
“I’ve always been a girl, but I became a woman overnight. I never had to fight, but I suddenly became strong. I don’t want any of this, I just want to be an ordinary girl, I just want to be around the right people. I don’t want to be fo0led by anyone again,” she cried.
Mrs. Marson exhaled heavily and excused herself, while Mr. Marson helped Ivy to her room when she stopped crying.
“Are you sure you’ll be fine?”
“I’m sorry for being a hassle,”
“Don’t say that. You can always show your weak side to me. Have a good night rest, bestie,” he said, and she chuckled.
He placed a kiss on her forehead before leaving and she laid flat on the bed deep in thought, but her ringing phone distracted her.
She checked the caller and exhaled heavily when she saw its Jon. She put the phone away when it started ringing again. She has been screening his calls the whole time but he was being too persistent. The continuous calls pissed her off and she wanted to switch off the phone when a message beeped in from Jon.
💬*Ivy, I don’t know what’s going on and why you’re avoiding Jon’s call, but he needs your help. He has been blowing nonstop, and I he is hurting himself. I can’t get him to stop. Nic*
Ivy hissed after reading the message and put the phone away when another message beeped in, this time it’s a picture of Jon with bruised fists.
“Oh, my God,” she exclaimed, and texted back immediately.
*
Ivy hurried out of the house after she got the address, and stopped a taxi to go there. Upon arrival, Nic went to her.
“Where’s he?” she asked.
“Come with me,” with that she followed him in to see Jon still blowing with his bruised fists.
“Stop it, Jon! You are hurting yourself,”
“Stay out of it, Ivy,”
“Fine. Then I’ll leave, the moment I leave we are done. It’s over,” having said that, she turned to leave and he stopped her with an embrace.
“Don’t go. It will really be over if you do,” he winched
They both went to sit and she helped him treat his wound with a first-aid and also bandaged it.
“Why’d you lied about Bryan?”
“Because I want to be with you,”
“Does that make sense?”
“You lied about everything, Jon! Your family, your friends, everything. Everything about you is a lie and that’s all you can say,”
“Ivy, I shouldn’t have lied,”
“You shouldn’t have but you did. Lying about your friendship with Bryan wasn’t enough, you went ahead to lie about your family too. Do you think I would want to leach off you if you tell me that you’re a rich heir?”
“That’s not it. Allow me explain,”
“Start now!”
“About Bryan, I lied about our friendship, Bryan is my best friend, we’ve been friends since middle school but we’re different people, with different personalities. I had to lie about it because you would’ve reject me without batting an eye if I told you the truth,”
“You were aware of my relationship with him,”
“I was. But not the details. Just like everyone at school, I knew that you two once dated. We became a little distant after he went to music school,”
“Why’d you come after me then? I was your best friend’s ex,”
“Because I like you. You and Bryan aren’t together and I believe it will be fine but realizing that being honest about my friendship with Bryan will be a barrier in our relationship, I had to come up with lies. I’m sorry, Ivy,”
“And your family?”
“That. There was no reason for me to lie about it. I was stupld to believe that having a flaw will make you accept me. I don’t want to appear too perfect when you have so many flaws that is in the way, so I had to come up with that,”
“Are you being serious right now?! You lied about having a sister, about your family and all to have a flaw?!”
“I’ve a sister, I never lied about that,”
“You’re a f¥cking only child!”
“My cousin. She lives with us. She was more like a sister to me,”
“Goodness. I can’t do this anymore. Everything has been a lie, and… it’s over, Jon. Let’s end this. I’m sure you were expecting this,” she said, and stood up to leave but he held her back.
“Don’t go. Don’t leave me, Ivy. Don’t break up with me, if you do, I’ll be all alone,”
“No. You’ve your perfectly fine family, and your best friend. You can’t be alone. Enough of the lies already!” she shouted, and jabbed her hand away.
“I’m not a part of that family anymore! I was just disowned,”
“Yet, another lie,”
“This isn’t a lie, Ivy. My father present at school today is a prove,”
“I don’t care,”
“You do. You care that’s why you came here and tend to my wound,”
“What really happened? No lies,”
“Can you sit?” he muttered, and she sat down.
“I don’t have all night,” she blurted.
“My father discovered my secrets, I thought I could fo0l him through school, and prove myself with amicable results but I was wrong,”
“You don’t expect me to start guessing the secret, right?”
“I was supposed to be studying Journalism, but I went to Art. Against his wish. I fo0led him,”
“Why?”
“My father wanted me to take his step, study journalism, he wants me to be like him,”
“And you don’t want that?”
“My mum own an Art gallery. It’s under the group, but it’s less profitable so dad shut it down. It was my mum’s dream, it was my dream too. We worked together at the gallery while I was growing up, I always go there from school, I learned to paint too, but dad thew it all away. He shut it down because he believe it can never be profitable so my dream is to prove him wrong, I want to reopen the gallery and prove a point. I’m being honest this time, Ivy.
“But how could you f0ol him all these while…”
“Nic is in journalism, so all I need to do was to manipulate Nic’s portfolio for him until I got bursted,”
“Another lie?”
“I have no reason to lie about this,”
“Neither do you have any reason to lie about others,”
“You’re the only one who will listen to this ranting. You and Nic are all I have left. I have no reason to lie to you,”
“Your parents might have disowned you, but you still have your bestie,”
“Bryan and I aren’t that close anymore. Nic is practically my best friend now,”
“You won’t lie to me about cutting ties with him because of because of me, I won’t buy that,”
“Then I won’t. I messed up big time, I know. I’m a fat big liar, if there is any truth I have to tell you since we’ve been together, that’s my feelings for you. I love you, Ivy. I don’t care about your past with Bryan, I don’t care about your family status, I just want us to be together. Please,”
“But I care. I care about all the lies you’ve told me, I care about your friendship with Bryan that you lied about. I care about my situation, I care about everything. Let’s just end it, Jon. We aren’t compatible. And don’t try to hurt yourself again. Not because of me, not because of your family. When all odds are gone, you’ll be the one to feel the pain. Like now,” with that, she stood up to leave.
“Ivy, please…” he cried, holding her hand.
“I’m sorry, Jon. No matter what you say, it wili only sounds like a lie to me,” having said that, she forcefully freed herself from him and hurried out.
“Are you leaving already? What of Jon?” Nic who was outside asked.
“He will be fine,” with that, she left.
“What? Wait,” Nic shouted after her.
*
Ivy stopped a taxi and exhaled heavily after deleting Jon’s number from her phone.
“You did the right thing, Ivy. It’s all over now,” she muttered in tears.
“Yes. You’d the right thing,” Violet who was sitting next to her said, trying to pat her hair but her fingers kept passing through.

Charles was finding it difficult to sleep all night thinking of Violet and wondering if she will ever return when she suddenly appeared in his room.
“Vee,” he called, and stood up immediately.
“Ivy broke up with her boyfriend,”
“How’s she now?”
“I don’t know. I can’t even console her and I can’t just watch her in pain either,” she muttered, and he held her to seat.
“It’s fine, Vee, even if you aren’t in this state, some things are inevitable,”
“I know,”
“Cheer up,” he said, and she smiled.
“Tomorrow is a big day, you should go to sleep early. Healthy sleep is a sign of good fortune,”
“Vee, about earlier…” he murmured, doubting if he should bring it up.
“Don’t worry about anything, Charles. Sleep tight, you’ve a long day tomorrow,” with that, she teleported away.
“Gosh, is that a good thing? Yeah, I shouldn’t worry about this,” he thought, trying to sleep but he was unable to.
“Get over it, Charles! It’s just a kiss, I kissed…” he grumbled.
“Ahhhhhhh…” he screamed, turning and tossing on his bed.

**
Violet sat at a rooftop staring at the night sky and Jayden joined her.
“You shouldn’t be out here this late, you gang even fight an evil spirit,” Jayden said, sitting next to her.
“I know I shouldn’t,”
“Looking out for Ivy,” he said, and she chuckled.
“And you? Lurking around, here and there,”
“Did you return to Charles?”
“Yeah,”
“Did you talk about—“
“Don’t ask!” she cut in.
“Is it personal?” he teased.
“I always tell you everything, I have been very transparent with you since we met, but you never shared anything with me. I won’t force you to, but if you will keep secrets, let this be my little secret as well. Don’t pry,”
“There is nothing you to know about me,”
“But there is a reason you are unable to cross,”
“What do you even know?” he teased.
“Not revenge, but something else, like yearning,” she said and he looked at her for a while before chuckling.
“You assume too much,”
“Who’s she? Your girlfriend?”
“My wife,” with that, he teleport away.
“Wait! What? Wife? Tell me about her!” Violet shouted, already curious.
