HOLLAND HIGH^^^
^
Michael sat in his suite staring at the list and his phone, while his friends argue over unnecessary things.

“I’m serious, man. I think she likes me,” Stanley said, and Austin scoffed.

“Don’t get ahead of yourself, man. Jessica of all girls here at school. Likes you? She declined your request to join the math club a thousand times, and you thinks she likes you?”Austin teased.

“I’m serious, man. If she doesn’t, then why would she say that?”

“Simply because, because…”

“Because of what?”

“Because… there is no way she can like you. She must have a reason for leading you on. Probably, to add you to her lists of rejections!” Austin said.

“What? What did you just say?” Stanley shouted, and intend to hit him —he ran off, and they both started running around together.

Mifheal exhaled heavily still staring at his phone, and Steven was o preoccupied, playing video games.

Austin and Stanley stopped running later and dragged Steven to seat next to Micheal.

“Man, how come you didn’t say anything?” Austin said.

“About what?” Micheal asked.

“What? Aren’t you here the whole time? About Stan and Jessica!” Austin snapped.

“What happened to Jessica?” He asked, and Austin gasped, while Stanley chuckled.

“This man is gone…” Stanley teased.

“Hey! Don’t tell me you are this way because Lina ditched you?” Austin blurted.

“She said she was going to call, she promised to,” he muttered.

“Are you taking that seriously? Girls say that a lot when they want to ditch a guy,” Austin said, and Michael’s eyes widened.

“Really?” He gasped.

“Come on, man. I think you still need lectures about ladies from me. Not just you, but Stan as well. And you Steve, you should also find a girl. I’ll arrange one for you, don’t worry. How does Rena sounds?” Austin said, and they scoffed.

“Hey! Why Rena of all people?” Stanley snapped.

“Rena is just the start. He should date her for few weeks for some experience, and he will upgrade gradually. My main target for him is Jenny, but he needs a lot of experience to date her,” Austin said, and Stanley exhaled heavily.

Micheal didn’t stop staring at the paper with him, and the guys shook thier head.

“What do we do with him, man? He is really heart broken. Lina really messed him up,” Austin said, and Stanley chuckled.

“What’s that with him?” Stanley asked, and grabbed the paper from him.

“Hey! Give that back!” Micheal yelled.

“Bring it!” Austin said, and grabbed it from Stanley

“Is that your to-do list?” Stanley teased.

“Hey! Bring it back. I mustn’t loose that!” Michael lashed, going after Austin.

“If you really care about that list, buddy, just leave him be. Else, you might really lose it,” Stanley said, and Micheal exhaled heavily because he knows Stanley was right.

“Holding hands while walking down the street, boarding the bus together, a visit to the market square, going do the amusement park with people around, riding a bike together, playing games together at an arcade, eat barbecue together at the roadside, singing at a karaoke together, and call it a day at the field, while staring at the lay night sky,” Austin reed the list out loud, and Micheal exhaled heavily.

“Can I have it back?” Micheal snapped, and grabbed it from him.

“Is that what you plan to do together?” Within teased, and Stanley chuckled.

“What? What’s wrong with the list?” Micheal blurted.

“No wonder she ditched you. If I saw that creepy list, I would have ditched you as well,” Austin teased, and Stanley laughed, unable to hid it in.

“I think it’s fun,” Micheal grumbled.

“You think this is fun? No wonder Ava broke up with you?” Austin blurted, and Stanley hit him playfully.

“That’s enough, dude. Mike has been single for too long, let’s blame it all on his singleness,” Stanley said, still laughing, and Micheal pouted his lips innocently.

“It sounds like why Lina would like,” Steven said, and they all looked at him.

“What? Even you!” Austin and Stanley shouted.

“It’s all my fault, I should have organized this dating lecture on time, at least you would’ve been able to avoid this lackey list,” Austin grumbled.

“Get yourself a new girl first,” Stanley teased.

“Hey! What’s that about?” He shouted.

“You haven’t said anything about that new girl of yours, neither did you introduce her to us. Why? Have you guys breakup?” Stanley teased.

“What? Speaking of which…” Austin muttered, and took his phone to see several missed calls from Rae. “Hey! Gotta run!” He shouted, and ran out.

“Are you going on a date?!” Stanley shouted after him. “I think he is hiding her from us,” he m grumbled.

“But she was the one who came up with the list,” Micheal muttered in a whisper, looking at the list.

“Obviously! It’s just like Lina to like weird things like that,” Steven said, and Micheal looked at him.

“But it’s not that weird. I think it would be fun,” he said, and Steven patted his shoulder.

“You suit each other,” Steven said.

“What does that mean?” Michael snapped.

“Nothing. I should have followed Austin,” Steven said, and Micheal scoffed.

“What? What are you guys discussing?” Stanley asked.

“Are you starting to whine like Austin?” Steven teased, and Micheal chuckled.

“He should hear that,” Stanley said, and they all laughed. “Since Mike got ditched, and Austin went on a date, we should do something as well. What do you guys think?” He asked.

“I’ll head out first,” Steven said, and carried his bag.

“What? Is that a no! Mike, what do you think?”

“She promised to call… I wonder what happened,” Micheal grumbled.

“What’s all this really? Fine! I also have other plans!” Stanley shouted, and left.

MR. ETHAN’S WAREHOUSE^^^
^
Mr. Ethan dropped his call with Charlotte, and Don rushed in to meet him.

“Boss, there is a report from Jay,”

“What’s it?”

“The Packard’s are now aware of Miss Charlotte’s existence, Ms. Grace paid her a visit today, and her just and visited yesterday,”

“Charlotte called me already. Why didn’t they report sooner yesterday?”

“They weren’t aware that the man who visited was related to the Packard’s, until Ms. Grace visit,”

“And my granddaughter?”

“Tony and Carlos are watching her closely,”

“Send more people to Charlotte and my granddaughter,” he said, and a call came through Don’s phone.

“Boss, it’s Leo,”

“Ok, pickup,”
.
📞*Hello,*
📞*What?*
📞*I’ll report to boss immediately!* with that he dropped the call.
.
Mr. Ethan looked at him, and Don bowed his head slightly.

“Split it!” Mr. Ethan muttered.

“Mr. Packard was released,”

“What? Why didn’t the prosecutor report to us?”

“Boss, there seems to be a problem somewhere,”

“What’s it?”

“I think we have to visit that prosecutor,”

“Do you sense something fishy?”

“If the prosecutor released Mr. Packard without informing us afterwards, then he must’ve switched sides,”

“Send someone to confirm his current location,”

“Yes, boss,”

“Mr. Packard, you are more cunning than I anticipated. I let my guards down,” he thought, with clenched fists.
*
They left the warehouse, and went to the location the prosecutor was, having lunch with his colleagues.

They dialed his number, but he rejected thier calls and Mr. Ethan chuckled.

“You are right. He switched sides,” Mr. Ethan said.

“What do we do now, boss?” Don asked.

“What we know how to do best,” Mr. Ethan muttered, and smirked.
*
The prosecutor turned off his phone and continued his lunch when the waiter delivered a drink to him.

“We didn’t order this,” Mr. Denis (the prosecutor said.

“It’s on the house, sir,”

“Oh… miss, how about ours?” His colleagues complained, and Mr. Denis chuckled.

“Thank you,” he muttered, and slipped from the drink.

“I was right! Now it’s confirmed!” One of his colleagues said.

“What?” Mr. Denis asked.

“I think that waiter is completely into you,” he said, and they all laughed.

He saw a note under the juice and the others tried to peep into it.

“I said it, she even left a note,” the colleague said, and the others tried to peep into it.

*Since you decide to play foul, there is no mercy for you. In the next 30 minutes, the poison will start it effect on you, your body will start itching by now. Come to the back of the restaurant quietly to get the antidote.* it reads and Mr. Denis’s eyes widened in shock.

“What’s it?” The colleague asked, and wanted to collect the note from him but he threw it in the drink.

His hands trembled in fear, and his body began to itch him.

“Mr. Denis, are you ok?”

“I think I need to use the restroom,” with that he hurried to the back to the restaurant.

He got to the back of the restaurant, and Don approached him.

“You thug, where is the antidote?” He shouted, grabbing Don’s collar.

“This way, boss is waiting,”

“Do you expect me to follow you? Bring the antidote now or I arrest you?”

“Seems like you don’t need it,” Don teased, and intend to leave.

Mr. Denis scratched his hair, and dragged Don back.
*
Don lead him to a car, and drove off.

“Where are you taking me?”

“To where the antidote is,”

“How can I trust you?”

“Because you have no choice. We are running out of time, it only takes 30 minutes for the poison to spread, and we already spent few minutes,”

“Hurry up! Where exactly is it? Why do you have to keep it that far?” He yelled, and Don smirked.
*
He pulled over at an empty restaurant, and they went in to meet Mr. Ethan, who welcomed them with a smirk.

“You sneaky thug, give me the antidote,” he shouted, and Don held him still.

“You… you betrayed me! Why should I give this to you?” Mr. Ethan sneered, showing him a bottle.

“Is that it? Is that the antidote?” Mr. Denis muttered, aiming to grab it but Don didn’t release him.

“Mr. Prosecutor, I thought you took a vow? But why did you let a criminal go?” Mr. Ethan teased.

“I should have remembered that and locked you up first. You are nothing but a thug, thinking you can destroy someone in power. Those people might be politicians, but they know how to play it more than you, stinky thug!” He blurted, and Don punched him.

“Stop! Don’t let him get to you. He have barely 10 minutes left after all. Let him continue spouting nonsense till then,” Mr. Ethan jeered, and Mr. Denis fell to his knees

“Please, give me the antidote,” he cried, scratching his body vigorously.

“Why should I? And why is a honorable prosecutor kneeing to a common thug that he should have locked up?”

“Please… I don’t want to dle,”

“Is that it? Is that why you let the powerful politician go? Because you don’t want to dle? Is that how important your life is? Then I’m honored to have the privilege to watch that life fade away with the antidote with me,”

“I didn’t intend to betray you, Mr Packard is more dangerous that we thought,”

“We? I also thought there was ‘we’ I also thought we were on same side, but it didn’t even take you a week for you to drift away to the opposite direction,”

“There is no way I can get the warrant against Mr. Packard, and I can’t get his confession either. Even the search warrant wasn’t approved!”

“Was that why you let him go and take his side instead?”

“No, I had other reasons,”

“Too bad… you have just few minutes left,”

“Please… give me the antidote,”

“I was enjoying your story,”

“Mr. Packard threatened me with my daughter!” he lamented.
*
*
FLASHBACK***
*
Mr. Denis stayed all day with Mr. Packard in the interrogation room, but even after all the threats, Mr. Packard still refused to confess.

“Who is behind you? Are you trying to get revenge for your brother? What did your brother fed you with?”

“Please!” Mr. Denis shouted, and hit the table. “Why are you asking questions? In the one meant to ask you questions. Why aren’t you calling your lawyer? What are you up-to?”

“Me? You will let me go when you get nothing from me. An innocent man doesn’t need to lift a finger to prove his innocence,” Mr. Packard said, and smirked.

“You must think this is funny. But the moment I get the search warrant, you are done for!”

“That was quite intimidating Mr. Prosecutor, but you are wasting your energy ok and innocent man!”

“For God sake!” The prosecutor lashed, and his investigator joined them, whispering words ik his ear. “What?” He shouted, glared at Mr. Packard who chuckled. “It’s not over yet,” he threatened, and left with his investigator.

“Why didn’t they issue the search warrant?”

“I’m also confused, sir, but the chief request your presence in his office,”

“For God sake. I thought he was on vacation!”

“He returned few minutes ago, you should see him,”
*
Mr. Denis went to the chief’s office ready to get quarreled, and the chief threw a baseball at him immediately he stepped inside.

“Such Insolence! What do you think you have to arrest Mr. Packard, are you an idiot? Can’t I enjoy my vacation in peace!”

“Sir, I don’t understand you. I am simply doing my job, I arrested a criminal, and that’s it!”

“A criminal? Then why am I receiving several missed calls from the higher ups, if he is just a criminal as you claimed. Release him this instant, I don’t want to hear any objections!”

“I’m sorry, sir, but I can’t,”

“You can’t what?!”

“I hwge evidence against him, and a witness to prove his fraudulent acts. I can’t let all that go,”

“So, have you gotten a warrant?”

“I’ll get one soon,”

“The search warrant was rejected, do you think you will get a warrant for his arrest? I don’t even know how the minister of justice got my number, but it’s a good thing I got to have his contact now through you. Release him this instant, you can’t get a warrant for him. If the cases assigned to you is not enough to kill your boredom, there are countless of criminals out there. I heard there is one who has been causing troubles lately. Go catch them, those are the bad guys.” He shouted, and Mr. Denis exhaled heavily. “Gosh… why can’t I have some solemn peace? I haven’t even take a break since I transferred here,” he whined, and look up to see Mr. Denis still in his office. “What are you waiting for?!” He yelled, and Mr. Denis shook his head before leaving.
*
He returned to the interrogation room, and Mr. Packard welcomed him with a smirk.

“I won’t leave yet, Mr. Prosecutor, I want to know who’s behind you first,” he said, with a smirk and Mr. Denis hit the table, staring directly at him.

“It’s not over yet, old man!”

“I know. It’s not over until I say it is,” he teased, and the door slugs open.

Mr. Denis spun around, and the man who walked in introduced himself as Mr. Packard’s lawyer.

“I’m going to release him, so you have no reason to come now. You should have came sooner!“ Mr. Denis muttered within clenched teeth.

“He isn’t here for me, he is here to deliver a message from your daughter,”Mr. Packard said.

“What daughter?”

“Do you forgot your two adorable daughters? Sonia and Sunny,” Mr. Packard said, Mr. Denis grabbed his collar.

“How do you know my daughters?”

“Having adorable daughters shouldn’t be a secret,” Mr. Packard said pointing at the CCTV camera.
*
Mr. Denis turned off the camera, and the lawyer picked a video call from a man, and Mr. Denis daughter was behind the man.

“Sonia! My daughter!”

“Are you willing to tell me who is behind you now?”

“Don’t you dare to hurt my daughter!”

“I will if you refuse to obliged. And you won’t be able to arrest me like now,” Mr. Packard sneered, and the lawyer showed him the phone again.

In the call, a man stood in a rooftop from afar, aiming a gun at Mr. Denis’s daughter who was in the direction of the gun, chartering away with her friends.

“I just need to end this call, and they know what to do!” Mr. Packard said, and intend to end the call but Mr. Denis held his hand.

“It’s a man. I have no connection with him, but my nephew brought him to me. He is Mr. Ethan,”

“Mr. Ethan?”

“When I searched about him, he is an ex-convict, he seems to have a grudge against you. His full name is Ethan Flood,”

“Ethan Flood… the Floods’ are back…” Mr. Packard said, laughed awkwardly.

“Sir… I shouldn’t have collide with them, I’m sorry. Please don’t hurt my daughter,”

“It depends on you,”

“I already tell you everything I know, and I will stop investigating your case, I’ll burn down all the evidence I have against you. I’ll do everything you want me to do… please don’t hurt my daughters,”

“You will do anything I ask you?”

“Yes, sir. I’ll do anything,”

“Then don’t do anything!” Mr. Packard muttered, confusing Mr. Denis.

“Sir…”

“Don’t do anything. Just continue living your life, and continue loving your adorable daughters and I’ll continue my life as well. It’s that simple!”

“Thank you so much, sir, thank you,”
*
*
FLASHBACK ENDS***
*
Mr. Denis concluded, and Mr. Ethan shook his head in disbelief.

“I indeed let my guard down,” he muttered, and Mr. Denis crawled to him, holding his legs.

“I already tell you everything, please give me the antidote,” he cried.

“Too bad we have just a minute left. Let’s hope this will still be effective,”Mr. Ethan muttered, and threw the bottle at him, and it broke in the process.

“Nooooo….” Mr. Denis wailed, licking the liquid on the ground. “Do you have another one? Why did you break it down?” He cried.

“That’s just water m0ron, there is no antidote,” Don teased.

“What? You f0oled me! Please, hand it over,”he pleaded, and Mr. Ethan tick his teeth, shaking his head in disbelief.

“I wonder how you became a prosecutor. There is no antidote means there was never a poison. If your body itch, you should see a physician and treat infection,” Mr. Ethan teased before leaving, and Don followed.

“No, no, nooooo… the antidote!” Mr. Denis wailed, scratching his body vigorously
*
Mr. Ethan and Don returned to the car and Mr. Ethan hit the car vigorously.

“Boss, we already loose Mr. Packard, what do we do now?”

“I let my guard down, and now I’ve been bursted!”

“I’ll take your orders, boss,”

“We can’t do anything until he acts first. Those Packard’s are more fearsome than I thought. Are you sure my daughter and granddaughter are ok?”

“Yes, boss. None of our men reported anything, but I’ll call again to confirm,”

“My granddaughter will be their easiest target, so you should protect her yourself, and ensure she is safe. That’s your next assignment. If the Packard’s lay a finger on my granddaughter, you will pay for it with your life,”

“Yes, boss!”

“Get going,”

“What should we do about the prosecutor?”

“Leave him be. He will be fine once he visits the hospital, and get over his delusional self,” he said, and Don laughed.

“Well… I think his body really itches,” Don said, and they both laughed.

SOMEWHERE IN AN UNKNOWN PLACE^^^
^
Paulina struggled on the chair she was tied to, her hands are legs were tied up and her mouth was also covered. She groaned in tears, watching the two men who didn’t seem to be bothered.

“Who could have put them up to this?” She thought because they seem to be waiting for an order.

They heard roar coming from outside, and the leader ask the other to go out to check. Few ministers later, the other man smirked at her and left as well.

She’d struggled on the chair but it was impossible for her to loose the rope. She groaned, struggling in pain praying to loose it and run out before they returns when someone barged in.

She looked up in fear, and her eyes brightened to see Micheal.

“Lina!” He shouted, and ran to her.

He removed the tape in her mouth, and embraced her.

“Mike… how did you?”

“Don’t ask questions, I’m glad you are safe. We need to beg out of here,” he said, and started to untie the rope

Stanley and Steven joined later, and she opened her mouth agape.

“Lina, are you ok?” Stanley asked worriedly, and she nodded.

“Did you all fight those men on your own?” She asked, and they looked at Steven.

“They were not that many, they were four of them. Austin already called the police,” Micheal said.

“Do you know who they are?” Stanley asked, and she shook her head.

They seem to be receiving orders from someone. I don’t know who sent them,” she cried.

“They are my father’s men, Lina got hurt because of me,” Steven muttered, and they all looked at him in shock.
