CHAIRMAN RUSS’S MANSION^^^
^
Micheal tossed and turned on his bed staring at his phone expecting Paulina’s call. He called her severally but she screened his calls, neither did she read nor reply his messages.
“Something must be off, Lina can’t screen my call like this,” he thought, and called on the MASS group chat.
📳Austin: *Bro, wassup. Steve, Mike is on the call.*
📳Stanley: *Don’t start! You aren’t calling to whine about Lina, are you?*
📳 Micheal (gasped): Can you hack into my mind? You are indeed a genius.*
📳Austin: *Geez… man, is that what this is about?*
📳*Stanley: Grooseeee… Let’s not do this now. Not tonight, not ever!* (he left)
📳Micheal: *Wait. I really think something is off. Paulina has never screened my calls like this before.*
📳Austin: “Then ask her tomorrow.*
📳Steven: *Austin, what’s going on? Stan left? Mike, are you ok?*
📳Austin: *I’m leaving too, and you should do the same* (he left)
📳Micheal:*Wait… Austin…*
📳Steven: *Good night. bro* (he left)
“Not you too,” Michael grumbled, and dropped the call.
He sent another message to Paulina, and called her again, but this time her number was out of reach.
“What? Now it’s turned off!” He shouted. “This might really be serious,” he thought, and remembered seeing the driver smirked before leaving. “What was that about? Why would he smirk?” He thought, turning on his bed. “I should message Stanley privately,” he concluded, and slide into Stanley’s DM.
He sent a message to Stanley, who replied almost immediately.
.
💬Him: *bro, I really think something is off. Help me please😞
💬Stanley: *Grosssss… that emoji freaks me out! 😖.
💬Him: *Bro, her number is suddenly out of reach. I’ve a feeling that something is off. The driver smirked before leaving, he might be plotting something.*
💬Stanley: *So, what do you want me to do?*
💬Him: *Can you help me confirm the car?*
💬Stanley:*Seriously, bro! How can I find the car?*
💬Him: *Do it your way. Do it for me, bro*
💬Stanley:*Do you really have a bad feeling about it?*
💬Him: *I’m so worried,*
💬Stanley:*Send me the time the car picked her up, so I can confirm the car.*
*
He sent the necessary informations to Stanley, and they confirmed that the car belongs to First Group.
He sent the car plate number to his secretary, demanding its current location, hoping his secretary gets it somehow from the police traffic unit.
After waiting for few hours, the location was sent to him. And it was nowhere related to First Group’s residence, the car was found along a remote area.
“I knew it! Something was off,” he muttered, and sent the informations gotten to their group chat.
.
💬 Austin: .*Does this mean Lina might be in danger?*
💬Stanley: *we shouod inform the police. We don’t even know any relative of hers that we can contact.*
💬Micheal:*we can’t. Nothing is certain here.*
💬Austin: *even still… Lina might be in danger, we can’t just do nothing.*
💬Steven: *Mike is right, nothing is certain yet. We can’t inform the police based on the informations we have.*
💬Stanley:*then what do we do? We can’t just do nothing.*
💬Steven:*let’s go confirm it first.*
💬Stanley:*what? H£ll NO! This is dangerous. We can’t even do that now, it’s late.*
💬Micheal: *I agree with Steven, we should go confirm ourselves.*
💬Austin:*count me out of this.*
*
The MASS met at a bus station closest to Michael’s house, and they left in his car.
“This is really dangerous. What if she is truly in danger?” Austin whined.
“I already packed some necessities,” Micheal said.
“Even still…” Austin grumbled.
“I told you to back out if you are scared,” Micheal remarked.
“I agree with Austin, it’s dangerous but it would be more dangerous for Lina if she is truly in danger, so we can’t just sit back,” Stanley said.
“What if we are wrong? We would go to an unknown place. I really abhor playing Superman!” Austin blurted.
“Stop whining, bro. You need strength to be able to save Lina if she is really in danger,” Steven said, and Austin glared at him.
“Hey! Do you take me for a weakling? I hold green belt in teakwando,” Austin bragged.
“Wow! You seem to take your lesson a little seriously. I merely hold yellow belt,” Stanley said.
“Our genius don’t have to use his fist. I’ll always protect you,” Austin said, and they all laughed.
“With your green belt?” Micheal teased.
“Do you surpass me?” Austin asked.
“Green belt is nothing for a teenager to flaunt. You are merely a child,” Michael teased.
“I stopped my lesson long ago, I couldn’t keep up with my training and so many things. Teakwando just had to understand. But I’m still better than Stanley,”
“I hold brown belt in karate. Teakwando is not just my thing,” Stanley muttered.
“What?!” Micheal and Austin shouted.
“Mike, what level are you?” Austin asked.
“I’m not into karate, but I hold red belt in teakwando. I stopped training years ago,“ Micheal said.
“Oh… what about you, Steve? You can’t be any better,” Austin said.
“I practiced several marital art,I hold black belt in teakwando, judo, karate-..”
“Wooohhhhh…” they hailed, before he could conclude.
*
They drive for more than an hour, and arrived at the location of the car.
“We are in the middle of nowhere,” Austin stated.
“What do we do now, man?” Stanley asked.
“We should involve the police,” Austin whined.
Steven scanned the environment , and picked up something on the ground —a shark pendant and his eyes widened.
“What’s that?” Micheal asked, collecting it from him.
“They are lord shark’s men. That pendant is specially designed for them,” he thought. “Why did they abduct Lina? Could it be because of me? If they parked their car here, where could they have taken her?” He thought.
“I’m getting chills, man. This might be dangerous. Let’s call the police,” Austin whined.
“Steve, is there something about this lackey pendant?” Stanley asked.
“We will find out. Get in the car,” Steven said.
“Oh, Kay,” they all chorused —they have never seen him that serious before.
He drove off in full speed, and they all gazed at themselves in fear.
“Bro, are we safe?” Austin whined.
“Be quiet,” Stanley muttered.
Micheal who sat at the passenger seat steal glances at Steven who is focused on driving with a serious expression.
“Where could they have taken her? If they were really lord shark’s men, then the warehouse is the closest place for them to take her from here,” he thought, and make an illegal u-turn.
“Oh…”. They all screamed in fear.
“I’m sorry, I’ll be more faster now!” Steven said.
“What? Aren’t you fast enough?” Austin whined.
“Steve, please stop the car. Let’s catch our breath,” Stanley pleaded.
“If we really want to save Lina, then put yourselves together!” He yelled, and they all panicked in fear as drove off in a more faster speed.
“Haaayyyyyy…” they all screamed.
“Please, please, Lina be safe till we get you,” he whispered, in fear.
*
They arrived at the warehouse he suspected, and stopped the car.
“Where is this place?” Austin asked.
“Where Lina could likely be,” Steven muttered.
“How can you tell?” Stanley asked.
“Let’s find out,” Micheal said, and took his telescope to confirm, and they saw two men guarding the outside. “Two thugs are there, that’s all I saw,” he said, and Steven collected it from him.
“If there are two men outside, then there will be less than three inside depending on the circumstances. If they really abducted Lina to get me, they won’t send too much men,” he thought. “It’s confirmed! Lina is here!” He shouted, and they all looked at him.
Austin and Stanley collected it to look, and give it back to Steven who confirmed the premises.
“Steven, how can you be sure? What if we just intrude the wrong premises?” Austin asked.
“No, she can only be here. She is here! There are only two men outside, so there will bs less than three men inside. I can take them all, you just have to bring Lina out safely,” he said, and they all looked at him.
“Steven, what if you are mistaken?” Micheal asked.
“I’m not mistaken. Lina could only be here. I’ll take the men down, and you go in to bring Lina out safely,”
“What if they are more than you think?” Micheal asked.
“We are going to do it on our own? We won’t involve the police?” Austin asked in fear.
“Steve, how do you know she was here?” Stanley asked.
“I’ll tell you guys later. We should focus on Lina first!” He muttered.
“Yes. Let’s bring Lina out safely. But how do we go about it, we need a plan,” Micheal said.
“I’ve a bad feeling about this,” Austin whined.
“She might not even be in here,” Stanley said.
“She is,” Steven assured.
“What’s the plan?” Micheal asked, already impatient.
“I can bring down all the men, no matter how many they are. So you can just follow me, while I fight them, you go to Lina,” Steven said.
“Such confidence,” Stanley muttered.
“What if they have guns?” Austin whined.
“They don’t. There is nothing of such with them, and they don’t carry guns around on minor tasks,” Steven muttered.
“Seems like you know them well,” Stanley said.
“Austin, you call the police. Stanley and I will follow Steven,” Micheal said, and Austin nodded.
“It’s better that way, I should call the police. But what if someone attacks me from here?” Austin shivered.
“Then use the pepper spray on them!” Micheal lashed, and they all get down from the car.
Austin ensured the door was properly closed, and hold the spray before calling the police.
*
They engaged in a fight with the two men in the front, and one from inside joined them before the other came out as well.
“Seems like they are just four,” Steven thought. “Go to Lina, Mike, I’ll take care of them!” He shouted, and cleared the way for Micheal.
**
The police scanned the environment, and an ambulance arrived to take Paulina and the boys to the hospital to treat thier minor injuries. They made sure to keep everything away from the media, and the police carried on their investigation.
Paulina fell asleep in the emergency ward, and they transferred her to the VIP ward to rest.
Micheal sat next to her watching her sleep, the thoughts of how frightened she must have been made him blame himself for not showing up sooner.
“Mike, you should also rest. Austin barely lifted a hand, but he is also admitted in a ward,” Stanley said, and Micheal chuckled.
“We were all shaken by everything. It’s understandable. Where is Steve?”
“I haven’t seen him since we left our statement,”
“There is something fishy about that dude, he said Lina was abducted because of him, he claimed to know the culprits, but he didn’t leave such statement to the police. He didn’t even tell the police how we located the place,”
“At least I covered that up,”
“It’s a good thing you lied to them about tracking her phone. The phone was even off, so there was no way it could be traced,”
“The police bought the lie, and that’s what matters. They didn’t know when the phone was turned off “
“What could Steven be up to?”
“I’m also curious about that,”
“I believe he have his reasons, thanks to him we were able to find Lina on time. Look for him, we’ve to ensure that he is fine,”
“Sure!”
“I wish I could come with you, but I want to stay next to her till she wakes up,”
“I understand buddy, but you should also watch over your health,”
“What about you? Don’t you have to get checked in as well?”
“I’m fine. I’ll go look for Steve,” having said that, he patted Michael’s shoulder before leaving.
**
Steven stood on the rooftop remembering everything that happened earlier.

FLASHBACK***
*
After Micheal left, Steven urged Stanley to follow, and the leader knocked Steven down, staring directly at him.
“You…” Steven shuddered, at the familiar face.
“Little boss?” The man muttered, and Steven took advantage of his current shock to jab him away, and the man ran off.
*
*
FLASHBACK ENDS***
*
Steven exhaled heavily running his hands through his hair.
“Why was he surprised to see me if they wanna use Lina against me?” He thought.
“Bro, here you are,” Stanley said, approaching him. “Bro, you were so amazing today,”
“You were also amazing,”
“It’s nothing compared to you. Why don’t you get checked in? Even Austin is in a ward,”
“I’m fine,”
“Bro, we’re all curious about how you know where Lina was? I mean… you suddenly drove off like you belong to the rescue team, and pulled over at the right place. Then… you claimed that got Lina was abducted because of you. What does all that mean?”
“They were lord shark’s men,”
“Amazing! Was that what that pendant symbolizes?”
“Yes,”
“I knew there was something about that pendant. But lord shark… I have heard of that name before, he is an infamous mafia boss,” he exclaimed, and looked at Steven. “Is he your father?” He gasped.
“No. And he isn’t the true boss. He is just a puppet, a mere cover for my father. My father is the boss that is anonymous to many,”
“Unbelievable! So could all this really happen because of you? Your father is indeedfearsome,”
“I’m more scared now. If he could attack Lina, then you all are in danger,”
“Relax, man! We shouldn’t stress over this. Let’s relax first, and when we are together with others, we will think of a solution,”
“Thank you,”
*
Micheal called his secretary, to inform the Stanford’s about Paulina. He felt it’s needed to inform her family, and the Stanford’s are the only people connected to her.
He held her hand hoping for her to wake up, until she finally opened her eyes.
“Lina, I’m glad that you are awake,” he muttered, kissing her fingers.
“I’m sorry, Mike,”
“Don’t be sorry, you’d nothing wrong,”
The door slugs open later, and Paul rushed in.
“Paulina, are you ok? What happened? Are you hurt? Are you sure you are fine?” He asked, touching her face, and she forced a smile.
“I’m fine, dad,” she muttered, and Micheal’s eyes widened in shock.
“I’ll excuse you two,” he muttered, and left; doubting if they heard him.
*
He went outside the ward, and saw Stanley and Steven by the door.
“Bro, we are about to go in. Is Lina awake?” Stanley asked, and Michael blocked the way. “What? Is someone in there with her?” He asked, and Micheal nodded.
“We should go to Austin’s ward,” Michael muttered.
“We can’t. His parents are there,” Stanley said. “Who is with Lina?”
“Chairman Stanford,”
“Chairman Stanford? Ava’s father?!” Stanley shouted, and Michael nodded.
“But I doubt if he is just Ava’s father,” he grumbled, and they both looked at him.
“What did you say?” Stanley asked.
“Nothing. Let’s go to the cafeteria to pass time. I wonder why Austin called his parents,”
“That dude is such a scaredy-cat,” Stanley teased.
“What do you expect from a proud green belt holder,” Micheal added, and they all laughed.
“I’ll make sure I tease him tillI get bored of it,” Stanley sneered.
“You should. He would do worse,” Micheal said, and they all laughed again.
*
Paulina sat up, and Paul sat on the seat next to her.
“Don’t worry, the police will get to the bottom of this,”
“Dad… the driver… he plotted everything,”
“Yeah, the police already investigated him, but he left the county with his family. Don’t worry about anything, Lina, the police will catch the culprit,”
“I was so scared, dad…” she cried, and he embraced her.
The door slugs opened later, and Grace rushed in.
“Paul, what happened to her? Paulina, are you ok?” Grace asked, worriedly.
“I’m fine, ma’am,”
“I should have known something was off with that driver. It’s all my fault, you were in danger I didn’t carefully choose the staffs. He has been working with us for so long, who could have think he would plot such? I’m for putting you in danger, I won’t have been able to forgive myself if anything had happened to you,”
“Don’t blame yourself, what matters is that Paulina is safe now,”
“Did they leave any clue on who sent them?” She asked, and Paulina remembered what Steven said.
“She already left her statement, she must find it difficult to talk about it,”Paul said, and Grace exhaled heavily.
“Dad couldn’t have done this, right? I mean… he doesn’t even know about Paulina,” Grace thought.

IN AN UNKOWN PLACE^^^
^
Don knocked down two guys— Tony and Carlos, and they crawled on thier knees in pain.
“You were given a simple assignment, and it was to protect miss Paulina… but you don’t even know that she was abducted!” He yelled, and kicked one of them stomach.
“Boss… we were alert at the bus station she normally drops, we didn’t know it would turn out this way…” Tony grumbled.
“Do we ask you to watch the bus station? M0ron!” He shouted, and kicked him again.
“We’re sorry, boss…” Carlos muttered.
“I don’t care about how you will find her, but look for her!”
“Yes, boss!” They both chorused.
“Let’s get going,” Tony said, and dragged Carlos up.
Don groaned in anger looking at them, and he dragged them back.
“What can you two do that way?” He blurted.
“We will find her! We will make sure we do!” Tony assured.
“Go treat yourselves. I’ll find her,”
“Boss, I..-“
“No objections!” He snapped, and they both froze in panic.
“Yes, boss,”
“Miss Paulina… please be safe,” he whispered, as he rode his bike away.
