Ava has been restless after the article of her mother and Leo together, she feared that it could ruin her life for good. Fleeing to England helped her escape the harsh reality, but now, she felt like it was really going to be over—she is going to lose her position as her father’s daughter, her title as the Stanford’s heiress, and her family completely. When Paulina appeared from the blues, she loathe her so much because she was also a Stanford, while she, was a fake heiress. Her grandfather who was the only one that can protect her started facing his own crisis as well, and her mother was more concerned about her election than any other thing, she was even determined to abandon her father in other to win the election.
“Will she abandon me as well when everything goes south?” She thought, and she has been pondering on that since her grandfather’s scandal.
She got ready for school, and saw Paulina entering her car, she scoffed in disgust until the car drove off.
“I won’t let you take everything from me, never. I’m the only Stanford’s heiress, and nothing will change that. I’m the queen, and I’ll always be,” she muttered, with clenched fist before entering her car.
*
She arrived at school, and packed her bags during recess break ready to leave the class, but Lia and Alicia approached her. She has been avoiding them since the scandal about her grandfather, she doesn’t know how to justify him, and no one dares to ask her questions about him expect the both of them.
“Hi guy,” they waved cheerfully.
“Hi, gotta run!” She blurted, and stood up to leave but Alicia dragged her back. “What?” She snapped.
“Are you avoiding us?” Alicia asked.
“We are in same class, so how can I avoid you guys?”
“But you have been avoiding us,” Alicia stated.
“It’s just your delusional self thinking that. Just because I don’t hang around with you guys doesn’t mean I’m avoiding you,”
“Babe, this is really not fair. We’ve missed you,” Lia said, and embraced her.
They left the class together, and headed to the cafeteria, there they met Rae in company of her new friends.
“I thought she was seeing someone at school,” Alicia said, gesturing at Rae.
“You think so?” Lia asked.
“I heard Gabby telling the others, she was always on the phone ith someone so they thought so, but she didn’t disclose who he was,”
“Maybe she is ashamed of him,” Lia sneed, and Alicia scoffed.
“Ava, why are you picking on your food?” Alicia asked, and Ava glared at her.
“Ava, do you want to have some fun? You look down,” Lia said.
“Lia, no!” Alicia muttered.
“Shall we?” Ava sneered, and Lia smiled, while Alicia let out a sigh.
They went to Rae’s table, and Rae exhaled heavily, and hit the table before looking at them with folded arms.
“There is no empty seats for three!” Rae blurted.
“Who said we wanted to chitchat?” Ava sneezed.
“Well… I don’t care about what you want, but if you have time to poke around, I would advise to take your time in doing good deeds. Your grandfather is famous these days, but that won’t help your mother win her election, I know you don’t care, but you are no longer the queen if your mother lode to Alicia’s father. So assist your mother’s campaign, and stop causing troubles!” Rae blurted, before leaving; leaving Ava speechless.
“The nerve of that…” Lia almost shout, but Ava glared at her to be quiet.
Ava stormed out of the cafeteria, and they both trailed after her.
“Girl, are you going to let that bltch get away with that?” Lia said, and Ava glared at her.
“Someone is trying to ruin my mum’s election, by pitching that recording about my grandfather, we all know how the internet works, right?”
“Yes, we do,” they grumbled, in confusion.
“And someone who wants to ruin my mum’s election is behind it. Who could it be? Who would benefit more if my mum’s election fails?” She blurted, and Lia looked at Alicia.
“Babe, I thought we agreed not to bother ourselves with our parents election?” Alicia remarked.
“I’m just saying… I’ll leave first,” with that, she left.
“Do you think she is avoiding us because of that?” Lia muttered.
“She is such a loser!” Alicia snapped, before leaving.
“What’s going on? Hey, wait for me!” Lia shouted, running after her.
*
Ava went to her suite, and smashed everything she could on the floor.
“No…! I can’t lose it all, I won’t lose to Alicia, and I wing lose to Paulina! Noooooooo! Everything is mine, everything is mineeeeee…. I’m the queen,”
She lamented, and broke down in tears.

Paulina and Sage sat at the rooftop, and she placed her head on his shoulder as they talked about random stuff when Sophia joined them.
“Sophie, what took you so long? Where is our lunch?” Paulina whined.
“I’m sorry guys, sorry for being late,” she said, and they all grabbed their snacks.
“Junk food will forever be the best for recess,” Paulina said.
“I totally agree!” Sophia said, and they all made a toast with their soda.
“It feels like everything is back… the three of us together, here, chattering freely, while enjoying our lunch,” Sage said, and they all smiled.
“It felt kike the past, but the reminder of the mid semester examination is so terrifying, I wish we could really travel back in time,” Sophia whined, and they both laughed.
“Is the examination system here hectic? I don’t understand why you are all making a fuss over the exam?” Sage said, and they both glared at him. “What? What? That scared me,” he whined.
“What’s your current GPA?” Sophia asked.
“Why are you asking?” Sage asked.
“Just asking,”
“4.8,”
“What?” They both shouted.
“No wonder you aren’t restless like others,”
“Do you think I’m do that great? My grandfather was never impressed by my grades, but I’m too relent over that,”
“You were relent, and managed to get 4.8, you would ace over the highest score if you weren’t. I should stop hanging out with you,” Sophia said, and he chuckled.
“She is right,” Paulina added.
“What’s your GPA, Lina? I aren’t that bad,”
“4.5,” Paulina said, and Sophia gasped.
“What? You are both traitor!” Sophia shouted x and they both laughed.
“Come on, I managed to get that after studying my a$$ out. I picked a complex elective last year, and had troubles with the subject. I almost saved up to get a private teacher,” Paulina remarked.
“Never mind it, save the excuses. You are trying to tell me that you would have gotten higher if you didn’t choose a challenging elective, I heard that,”
“Yeah, it dropped from 4.7. But I never relent, all I ever do was study. I don’t even hang out with friends, unlike Sage, he is the real traitor,” she said, pointing at Sage.
“What? Why are you pinning it on me?” Sage grumbled
“That’s enough!” Sophia yelled, and they both composed themselves. “I don’t want to hear anymore words. And… it’s over between us. Just until the exam is over, it’s OVER! I should know better than hanging out with your two,” she blurted, and left.
“Sophie, wait. Take your soda!” Paulina shouted after her, and she went back to take it before leaving.
Paulina and Sage laughed hard at her retreating back until she was out of sight.
“She is being dramatic. But I never knew you were that good,”
“I really worked hard for my grades, but I’m so scared now. I have been unable to concentrate these days, and the teaching system here is different from the one I’m used to,”
“I’m sure you will do well, better, than Sophie who just abandoned us,” he said, and she laughed.
“Is she that bad?” Paulina asked, and he shook his shoulders.
“Hun, hun. Mind if I join you?” They heard Micheal said from behind.
“Mike, what are you doing here?” Paulina asked.
“It’s my school!” He bragged.
“There he goes …” Sage grumbled.
“I’m here to have lunch with my girlfriend, and her friend,” he said, and Sage scoffed.
“Why would you have lunch here?” Paulina blurted.
“Sage… do you mind?” Micheal asked, and Paulina rolled her eyes.
“Hey, what are you up to?”
“Sure! Let’s have lunch!” Sage said, and Micheal smirked.
“Sage…” Paulina called.
“Thank you, man. But I have company. I hope you don’t mind,” Micheal said, and his friends joined them.
“Come on, man, must we really have lunch here?” Austin whined.
“Let’s eat,” Micheal muttered with clenched teeth, and Stanley chuckled.
*
School dismissed later, and Sage was on his way to his car when he heard Sophia calling out his name.
“I thought we were over,” he teased, and she catch up with him.
“Give me a ride home,”
“What happens to your car?”
“My driver called, my car broke down. Do I need an excuse to request for a ride?”
“That’s rich coming from you, after you abandoned us at the rooftop,”
“Are you holding grudges?” She teased, and he smirked.
“I’ll drop you halfway as revenge,” he said, sticking out his tongue and she scoffed.
*
They drove off in silence with just the slow music playing, until Sophia broke the silence.
“I never expected you and Paulina to be that good,”
“What’s your GPA?”
“Do you expect me to say it?”
“You won’t have started this conversation if you aren’t going to say it,”
“You know me too well,”
“Well enough to know that you are bad at studying,”
“I’m actually trying, and my parents aren’t bothered,”
“What’s your best try?”
“2.3,”
“What?” He lashed, and stopped driving to look at her.
“What? I know I’m bad, you don’t have to make it obvious,”
“You aren’t bad… you are the worst,” he exclaimed, and she started hitting him.
“Do you have to be that blunt?”
“Don’t be bothered about it.Grades are really nothing in this part of the world, so far you aren’t dreaming of pursuing the legal field, or any educational career,” he said, and she scoffed.
“My dream is to get married to an influential man, I don’t even want to lift a finger,”
“Such wild dream you got,” he teased, and she chuckled.
“Don’t think of teasing my dream,”
“Oh, while on that. I guess I should pend the blind dates till after the exams are over. I hope you haven’t make plans, because you are going to get so busy,”
“Busy with what?”
“Blind dates. I got back in touch with many of my guys. Take your pick, you are their spec,” he winked.
“Why are you suddenly fixing blind dates for me?”
“Because you always wanted it,”
“You didn’t even get Lina,”
“That doesn’t matter. I should still treat my girl well,”
“You girl, my foot,” she muttered, and he scoffed.
“So get ready,” he winked, and she scoffed.
“I’m not interested in blind dates anymore,”she grumbled, in a whisper.
“What did you say?”
“I’m not interested in blind dates anymore!” She yelled, and he covered his ears immediately.
“Hey! You don’t have to scream that way,”
“I’m not interested in blind dates anymore!” She blurted.
“I have heard, I have heard. But why? Out of the blues? Is it going well with Miguel? He said otherwise,”
“Is Miguel the onkg guy I know?”
“You won’t date anyone in your class… who is he? Is he from another school?”
“See you talk,”
“Come on,”
“And you? Have you gotten over Lina or you are just pretending so we can be cool,”
“I’m simply doing the right thing. I already knew that Lina would reject me before I proposed, she has already rejected me a thousand times with her actions, but I still went ahead, affecting our friendship in the process. She couldn’t even tell us when she got hurt, and yearned for our attention. I realized that I was the one who ruined our friendship, so I should let go of whatever feelings, and embrace our friendship,”
“Do you really think you can get over her?”
“Maybe I’m the one who needs a blind date,”
“Blind date? That’s uncalled for!”
“I know. I just thought of it,”
“Why would you go on a blind date,” she grumbled. “Can’t you get a girl yourself?”
“I should. I should get a new girl. I’m single for too long, but I’m kinda bored of that lately,”
“How many ex do you have?”
“Why ask that?”
“Just curious,”
“Maybe two,”
“Maybe?”
“Sophie, I only date for fun. My friends are all in relationships and I don’t want to be left out. But everything changed after I met Lina… why am I even saying this when I have to get over the feelings,”
“Can you ever get over Lina?”
“I should. I realized that Mike is not that bad of a guy, so I should respect our friendship, and get over my feelings,”
“I’m sure you will get over her soon,” she said, and held his hand.
“I hope so too. Let go of me, I need to drive properly,” he said, and she jabbed his hand away in annoyance.
“Who wants to hold your hand?” She lashed, and he chuckled.
“That’s the vibe, Sophie. Don’t try to comfort me. I’m fine, really,” he said, and she scoffed.
“Who cares?”
“Do you want to attend a party with me?” He asked, and her face brightened.
“Elites’ party! I’m all in!”
“I bet that you will meet a lot of new friends there, and there might really be no need for a blind date in the future,” he winked, and she scoffed.
“Is that why you are inviting me?” She asked, and he shook his head.
“The party is after the mid semester exam, we all need it to clear our head. We shouod ask Lina ad well, incase she don’t have plans. She might even be there with Mike. That’s his type of audience,”
“You attend parties with Mike a lot?”
“Not with him. I met him in many parties. I might hang out with you and Lina at school, but I have a wild lifestyle. I party a lot, that’s how I met Lina, you know?”
“I could have imagined. You met Lina at Lia’s party, but why is our conversation always lead to Lina?”
“Hun?” He grumbled.
“Nothing. Just stop the car,”
“We aren’t even there yet,”
“I’ll call my driver from here,”
“Will he have fixed the car?”
“My aunty’s driver! Her house isn’t far from here!Happy now?!” She yelled.
“Hey, why are you so aggressive today? I will stop the car when I find a spot,” he said, and she scoffed paying full attention to her phone.

Ava left her suite when she realized that school it’s past school hours. She went to the parking lot and met her driver waiting for her. She entered the car, and started checking the news about her grandfather and her mother, when the strange bike pulled over in from of her car, and the driver quickly stepped on the brake. She became terrified when she remembered how Paulina was kidnapped, but she became frightened when she saw the person. She hurried out of the car immediately, before her driver could have a word with him.
“It’s nice meeting you again,” He said, and his lips curved in a smile.
“What do you want?” She blurted.
“It’s a good thing you still remembered me. So, can I have a word?”
“What made you think I’ll give in to that?” She snapped.
“Then I’ll go to who will always be ready to listen… the media,” he sneered, and wanted to start his bike.
*
They both went to the closet coffee shop, and Ava tried to hide her face with his hand, but he throw his big handkerchief her head.
“What the…” she almost shouted, and throw the cap away.
“You can use that to disguise yourself. It’s clean,” he said, and she glared at him.
The coffee shop started getting crowded, and she clenched her feet before using the handkerchief, and he chuckled softly.
“How have you been, Ava?”
“I told you never to act like you know me, because you don’t exist in your life!”
“But I remember telling you to disappear from my sight, because I’ll always come to you as long as you are nearby, have you forgotten our agreements?” He said, driving her to their conversation years ago, before she left the county.

FLASHBACK to few years ago***
*
Ava met Leo at the place they agreed to meet. He has been stalking her for a while that she almost informed the police until he revealed that he was her father with a paternal test result to confirm it.
She left in disgust and he threaten to come back. She went to her mother to get clarification and met her drunk.
“Leo cant just return from the blues, what will happen to my baby?” Grace cried already drunk, and Ava clenched her fist at the thought that the man might be right .
“Stop drinking, you are spewing nonsense!” She blurted, and stormed away.
She went to join her father by the poolside, and he welcomed her with a smile.
“Dad, can I join you?”
“No, iou can’t take alcohol,”
“Dad… just a slip,”
“No, young lady,” he said, and she pouted her lips.
“Then, you stup as well. That’s the condition!”
“You won!” He surrendered, and left the drink.
A maid went to clear the drink, and she took her glass cup before the maid left.
“He can only be my father, I’m the Stanford’s heiress, I can’t be a b@stard,” she thought.
She sent the samples to a hospital through anonymous agents, and she received the results —the shock of her life.
“Noooooo…. Paul Stanford is the only father I have, only him is my father. This result is worthless. I’m the Stanford’s heiress,” she cried.
She was still down in tears when she saw the message of Michael’s real identity, and decide to pour her anger out on him.
“He is an illegitimate, the piece of trash, while I’m Ava Stanford, the heiress of first group; that’s how it should it, that’s how he is. Mike is the piece of trash…” she said, trying to convince herself
She couldn’t share her distress with anyone, and she decided to take it out on Micheal.
She met up with Leo the following day, and he chuckled upon seeing her.
“I’m sure you have seen the results yourself,”
“I don’t care what the results say, I can only be a Stanford!”
“But the results reveals otherwise,”
“What will you benefit from revealing it? I’ll lose my position as the heiress, and mum will lose her marriage. We won’t return to you, and grandpa will quietly get rid of you. Let’s settle this. The only thing you can do is protect me, that’s the only way you can be responsible,”
“Protect you?”
“By disappearing, because that’s the only thing you can do for me,”
“How can I disappear?”
“Then u will. I will leave the country, so pretend like I never existed in your life!”
“If you disappear, then we have a deal!” He said, and she walked away.

“Ava, who is he?” Alicia blurted, and Ava stared at them speechlessly.
