EPISODE 9&10

_____

Annabelle’s hands trembled as they clamped around Caspian. She moved closer to him, holding him tightly like her life depended on it.

Slowly, she turned her face away from Oliver and looked into Caspian’s eyes, her heart raced madly.

“Please take me with you. I want to leave this place.” Her voice was barely above a whisper.

A smirk stretched across Caspian’s face as he looked at Oliver, who still stood there without any reaction.

“Ain’t you too confident? Anything else you wanna say?”

Oliver simply shook his head and tucked his hands into his pockets.

Caspian’s eyes widened. He had expected Oliver to fight him.

“Huh?”

“Take her luggage along,” Oliver added before walking away.

“That beast…” Caspian’s fist clenched, disappointment flashing in his eyes.

Annabelle began trembling even more as she recalled Oliver’s threat. But no, she had to leave, she can’t stay with him.

“I…” she whispered, and Caspian looked at her. Their eyes locked.

“Take me to Charlotte,” she added, her voice small.

Meanwhile, the only thought in Caspian’s mind right now was—

Why did Oliver keep her in the first place?

[Charlotte’s Suite]

“Shhh…” Charlotte whispered, rubbing Annabelle’s back.

“He’s so scary… He’s a monster… a very scary one,” Annabelle murmured, crying heavily.

Charlotte broke the hug and looked at her.

Annabelle sniffed, her fear still clearly written on her face.

“Why didn’t you follow my instructions? I told you not to speak to anyone,” Charlotte said, tears gathering beneath her brows.

Annabelle hiccupped.

“I didn’t know it was him,” she muttered.

Charlotte wiped her tears. “Don’t worry. You’re safe now. I’m here. I’ll never let him get close to you.”

Annabelle nodded.

“Did he touch you anywhere? Or do anything to you?” Charlotte asked, her voice low.

Annabelle recalled Oliver’s touch on her jaw—how it felt—and a shiver ran down her spine.

Charlotte swallowed, waiting for her response.

Slowly and deliberately, Annabelle shook her head. “He didn’t”

Charlotte exhaled in relief, rubbing her arms with a small smile.

“Are you done?”

Caspian’s voice interrupted.

They both looked at him. He appeared completely bored and uninterested in the emotional scene.

“Just be careful. Don’t let Ghost see you showing sympathy to someone. Or I’ll gladly slice your head off for breaking the rule,” he said to Charlotte.

Charlotte scoffed. “It’s fake. I don’t have a heart.” She crossed her legs, her psychotic expression returning firmly.

Annabelle swallowed.

“Much more interesting,” Caspian smirked.

“And now, what are you going to do about this little flower?” Caspian paused.

Annabelle blinked. Oliver had called her “little flower,” and now Caspian too. What was going on?

“Once Ghost is now aware, she’s gone,” Caspian smiled. “I’ll be glad to taste her blood though.”

With that, he walked out.

Charlotte sighed and stood up.

“What… did he mean?” Annabelle asked, almost stuttering, her fingers pressing together tightly.

Charlotte ruffled her hair, then lowered herself in front of her and took her hands.

“Actually, Anna…” she locked their eyes.

“I’m sorry” she whispered.

Annabelle’s heart pounded.

“I shouldn’t have brought you here. You can’t survive here,” Charlotte said, her grip tightened.

“You know what? After my mother spoke to me when you arrived, I realized my mistake. You’re too soft to be here. You can’t stand people like us. Not Caspian, Oliver, Ghost, me, or the gang members. Everyone here is a psycho. No one is normal,” she uttered.

“So you have to go back. I’ll give you as much money as you need to survive out there—but not here. I can’t risk your life,” she continued.

“Please, I must take you back soon,” she finished.

Annabelle stayed quiet, watching her. Her eyes drifted to the fresh cut on Charlotte’s wrist and the faint finger marks on her neck.

“You hurt yourself again, Charlotte?” she whispered, swallowing.

Charlotte bit her lip. “It’s just a minor injury. It will disappear soon,” she said, standing up.

Annabelle couldn’t blink.

“I’ll keep your bag away. You’re going to stay in my room until I get the chance to sneak you out tonight. So get some rest,” she added, pulling the luggage toward the dressing room.

Annabelle’s shoulders dropped.

Why did she agree to come here in the first place when she knew there were no humans here?

She’s a fool.

[Gang Shooting Range]

Bullets fired rapidly into the range, missing none of the targets from the three guys standing there—Kane, Robert, and Sky.

They were four friends, the fourth one absent.

Kane hardly talked. He focused only on his target, and when he did speak, it was usually directed to the absentee. They didn’t get along at all.

Robert and Sky were the humorous ones. Even though they were thugs, they never missed a chance to joke—even about serious matters.

And the absentee, Kian. Both cute and hot… a guy who couldn’t stay away from women.

“Hey, buddies!!!”

Kian entered, one hand tucked into his pocket while the other waved.

Kane swiftly turned and fired his last bullets toward him.

Kian’s eyes widened, but he quickly dodged, and the bullet struck the pillar behind him.

Kane smirked. Robert and Sky exchanged glances, chuckling as they lowered their guns.

Kian frowned. “Are you crazy, fool?!”

“Where were you, asshole?” Kane asked, dropping his gun.

“Where was I? You nearly killed me, punk!” he yelled again.

“But you didn’t die, Kian. Don’t be melodramatic,” Sky chuckled.

Robert tapped Kian’s shoulder and burst into laughter along with Sky.

Kian’s expression darkened and he tried to lunge at Sky.

Robert held him back, laughing even harder.

“I hate you all. füç? you!” Kian snapped, jerking himself free.

He rolled his eyes and gave them the middle finger.

They snickered.

He turned back to Kane, who was now leaving the range. He blocked his path, crossing his arms.

“Where do you think you’re going after trying to kill me?” he asked.

“I’m a thug. I don’t think twice before shooting whoever I want,” Kane said.

“But I’m a gang member, not a target! We shoot targets, not members!” Kian snapped.

“And you’re my target. Move.”

Kane pushed him aside and walked off like a devil in angel’s form.

Kian chuckled dryly, his fists clenching tightly. “I want to kill him… badly.”

“You said something?” Robert whispered beside him.

“Hey!!” Kian glared.

Robert laughed with Sky.

“Sorry, man,” they said, bowing dramatically.

Kian swallowed hard, his fists nearly breaking as he stormed off.

Robert and Sky high-fived, laughing.

“You’re insane, Robert,” Sky muttered.

“We both are,” Robert winked, and Sky nodded, throwing an arm around his neck.

“Oh, I almost forgot,” Sky said.

“What’s that?” Robert asked.

“I heard a rumor… there’s a pet the Ghost’s beast [Oliver, Caspian, and Charlotte] are hiding from their father. Is it true?”

Robert blinked. “A pet?”

“Yeah. I heard she’s soft… like a puppy. Charlotte’s friend,” Sky explained.

Robert nodded. “Guess that’s why they’re hiding her… or she’ll be already dead.”

Sky laughed. “Well, she must be pretty hot for Master O and C to hide her.”

“Those two are enemies. Everyone knows that. They can’t keep her together,” Robert scoffed.

“But still… if she’s hot, I’ll keep her to myself…”

Robert slapped Sky’s head.

“Are you ready to die?”

Sky glared back.

Robert shook his head and walked away.

“Wait for me!” Sky ran after him.

“Which pet are they talking about?” Nora’s voice came from behind Indigo, who had been eavesdropping.

Indigo turned, her expression dark.

“How dare you, bitch!”

Nora flinched. “Sorry…”

“Get out of my sight!”

Indigo walked away.

Nora rolled her eyes.

“Who’s the pet? Why is she so worked up about it? I need to find out,” she smirked, following Indigo.

[At Night]

Annabelle stood where Charlotte had told her to wait—a quiet highway leading into the forest.

Her mind was blank except for one thought:

Escape.

She checked her phone. It still had a little battery left.

10:00 PM.

She sighed, running her hand through her hair.

She didn’t even know where she would go after this. Maybe a hotel…

Her thoughts were interrupted when Indigo appeared.

“Hi,” Indigo smiled beautifully.

Annabelle wasn’t in the mood, but she forced a small smile. “Hi.”

“You look stunned,” Indigo said, touching her long black hair.

Annabelle blushed slightly despite everything.

“Thanks.”

“I’m Indigo. Charlotte’s best friend,” she introduced.

Annabelle’s eyes brightened. “Oh! I’m Annabelle—Charlotte’s high school best friend.”

Indigo smiled. “We should be friends too.”

She extended her hand.

Annabelle smiled and shook it.

“Charlotte asked me to take you home,” Indigo said.

Annabelle blinked. “Huh?”

“She’s been called by Ghost, so she asked for my help,” Indigo explained.

Annabelle nodded.

Indigo took her bag. “Let me help.”

“No—”

“I insist.” Indigo cut her off, her grip tightening.

“You’re so nice. Thank you,” Annabelle said softly.

Indigo smiled, her eyes gleaming with something darker.

“After you.”

Annabelle nodded and walked ahead.

Behind her—

Indigo smirked.

She let go of the bag.

Then slowly and quietly, she pulled out a gun, pointing it at Annabelle’s back.

Her finger tightened on the trigger…

Tbc…….
