CHAPTER FIVE

Hello everyone, I am Vados, demon of pain and suffering and that’s exactly what I’m about to inflict on you… Resistance is futile!“
“ Oh stop making my ears bleed, I don’t want to look like you, pathetic slave to a psychotic monster. Just come and die by my hands” Krypton said and his eyes turned red and his sword was covered in flames.
“ This will be fun “ Vados muttered and signalled the demons to attack.
The king’s soldiers came as well and a huge fight broke out in the hall.
“ This way your majesties ” Sayer said and led King Richard and Princess Olivia away.
The knights stayed behind to fight back. Vance followed them to protect them. Vados sighted them trying to escape. He took a few ghouls and followed them.
“ This is bad! We have to get the princess to safety, she is your top priority” King Richard said.
They headed towards the carriages to flee from the palace but a huge ball of energy wizzed past them smashing into the wall and sending them flying in different directions.
Vance’s eyes immediately changed colour and the air around him became freezing cold so much so that the ground were he stood was covered in ice.
He raised sword up high before striking the ground with it causing a ripple that destroyed everything in it’s path including the demons in front of him.
He looked around but Olivia was nowhere to be found neither was Sayer nor King Richard.
“ Where are they?“ He muttered before speeding off in search of them.
“ Ahh, it hurts” Olivia winced softly holding her left arm.
The tattoos on her arms began glowing. She heard some demons coming her way so she took to her heels running as fast as her legs could carry her.
Krystal transformed into her spirit animal, towering over the demons. She ripped them into pieces with one swipe of her claws.
Aphrodite pulled out two swords slashing as many that came her way. It was no less the same story for Bruno. Krypton searched around for Vados but he was nowhere to be found.
“ I can’t find that creep anywhere and where are Sayer and the royals” Krypton said.
“ They left with Vance” Aphrodite answered.
Immediately, Vance entered into the hall with a worried expression on his face.
“ Where is Sayer and the royal family?“ Bruno asked.
“ I lost them,” Vance muttered and sighed.
“ You lost them?“ Krypton muttered.
“ We have to find them quickly” Krystal said but more demons and ghouls kept coming.
“ This is starting to get tiring. Where is Malone when you need him!“argh!“ Aphrodite sneered before pulling out her sword as she resumed the fight.
The others joined her except for Krypton and Vance who left to look for the royal family and Sayer.
“ You go left and I’ll go right. If you find them, you know what to do” Vance said and Krypton nodded before going in the opposite direction.
The tattoo on Vance’s arm began glowing faintly before stopping completely. “ Olivia…”

Olivia saw the shadows of a few creatures coming her way. She quickly ducked behind a wooden barrel and held her mouth shut.
“ Spread out and find that princess or lord Drago will have your heads “ she heard a man say.
To her dismay, their shadows were coming her way. She held her mouth tightly trying to control her breathing. She felt a grimmy hand on her shoulder and she turned around. Her face turned sour as Vados stood beside her.
“ Gotcha”
She stood up and tried to run but Vados held her back with little effort. “ Don’t try to run princess, it’s going to be a waste of time and energy” Vados said in a maniacal voice.
“ Grab her, lord Drago awaits us “ Vados ordered the ghouls and demons.
Two demons grabbed her hands from both sides and pulled her along. “ Let go of me you monsters,arrgh stop pulling me, my arms hurt ahhh!“ Olivia screamed.
“ Shut up!, You are making my ears hurt with your excessive whining” Vados yelled furiously and Olivia gulped down nothing.
“ Why are you taking me anyway? I’m not going to be of any use to you” Olivia muttered.
“ I beg to defer princess” Vados replied.
Suddenly, a dagger was hurled but Vados dogged it, although it cut him on his left ear.
It wizzed past him and stuck into the head of a demon holding Olivia.
It went down as blood seeped out of it’s head. “ Who the hell was that, show yourself!“ Vados screamed furiously.
“ Preying on weak damsels, and you call yourself a big shot. Pathetic!“
Olivia’s lips curved into a smile “Malone”
Immediately, her face scrunched up and she pouted.
“ Hey wait a minute, I’m not weak, how dare you?“ Olivia sneered folding her arms.
“ What is this, a couple’s reunion?“ Vados muttered.
Olivia smiled lightly “Well, we aren’t a couple yet …”
“ And we will never be, now shut it and go hide before you get hurt” Malone said and pulled out his sword.
“ Show me what you’ve got lover boy!“ Vados said with a psychotic smile as he charged at Malone.
Olivia pouted as she walked away ” I’m not weak, why is he always nagging me? Anyways, I need to find my father. I hope he is okay.“ Olivia said and ran away.
Suddenly, dark clouds covered the sky and a cold strong wind swept through the palace sending chills down everyone’s spine.
Vados stopped fighting with Malone and smiled… “ he’s here, now no one will survive”
Krypton arrived and sighed, “ Ahh, I knew I heard your annoying voice,” he said to Vados
“ Can you handle him?“ Malone asked and immediately Krypton transformed into his spirit animal.
“ I’ve got this covered” he replied.
Malone nodded slightly before dashing off in Olivia’s direction.

All the ghouls were drawn towards the hall, dragging their hostages along, one of them including the King.
Drago sat on the throne and smiled as king Richard was being dragged to his feet.
“ Long time no see Richard, I hope you have been taking good care of my bride” Drago said with a sinister look in his eyes.
“ You monster! You will never get your hands on my daughter and your evil plans will never be realized. You will die a horrible death in your quest for power” King Richard seethed and spat on his shoes.
“ Even at this moment, you dare to gloat. I spared you up till now because you are my father-in-law but no one and I mean no one has the right to speak to me in a disrespectful manner” Drago seethed and lifted King Richard by his neck, choking him.
“ Let the king go immediately” Krystal yelled as she approached Drago.
“ A knight of Avalon?… Interesting” Drago muttered and sent a pack of ghouls after her.
Aphrodite and Bruno came to help her fight off the ghouls. Vance arrived as well and decided to go after Drago himself.
He swung his sword with skill and strength but none of his attacks were able to land even a scratch on Drago.
He used his spirit animal powers and was able to push Drago back a little but Drago emitted a strong force that swept through the room, turning off the torch sticks and breaking them into pieces.
“ That’s enough play “ Drago snapped before launching a ball of energy that sent Vance crashing into the wall.
Drago’s eyes turned pitch black and immediately, demons began to crawl out of the ground beneath them.
They looked at each other at intervals as the fight was becoming more challenging.

“ Sayer!“ Malone exclaimed as he saw him pinned to the wall by a sword. He rushed towards him.
“ How did this happen? Tell me what to do” Malone muttered.
“ You shouldn’t worry about me Malone, I’ve received worse injuries than this one. Just go find the royal family. We cannot let them die. The knights of Avalon depends on it.“ Sayer managed to say.
Malone pulled him out of the wall, although the sword was still stuck in his stomach.

“ Where are you father?“ Olivia muttered as she walked around in search of King Richard.
She came across the ballroom and the sound of something crashing caused her to shiver.
She approached the room slowly, being careful not to be caught. “ She hid behind some of the fallen pillars and watched what was happening.
Drago walked towards the King and a sinister smile appeared on his pale face. “ Princess, I know you are hear somewhere. I have no desire to play hide and seek. Come out from where you are hiding or I will kill your father.
You have ten seconds to come out or I’ll hang your father’s head on Avalon’s flag” Drago said and held King Richard up by his neck.
Olivia covered her mouth with her hands as both fear and worry overcame her body.
“ Ten, nine…eight…seven…six..five..four.
.. three…two…
“ Don’t hurt my father, please “ Olivia muttered jumping out of her hiding place.
“ Princess…no !“ King Richard muttered as Drago released him. “ Run Olivia!“ Vance exclaimed.
Drago sped over to Olivia and smirked.
“ Good girl”
