” Long time, nephew” Santiago smiled as he took a seat. Mrs. Kendra bowed and left them.
” It’s good to see you didn’t turn out to be like your useless father ” Santiago laughed, getting on Mariano’s nerves but he never wanted to look pathetic in front of his uncle so he kept calm.
” Seeing you aged this much shows life must’ve been really difficult for you” Mariano clicked his tongue as he smiled. Santiago held firmly to the metal rod in his hands.
” You came unannounced and here in my office, there’s only coffee… You must be thirty” Mariano smiled again as he took his phone. He made a call to the canteen and later dropped the phone.
Santiago chuckled before clearing his throat.
” Your mom… Is she still alive? Though I’m sure you must have killed her” He smiled dryly.
” Looking at you now, I really feel pity that you were born in a family where both parents are legendary cheats. I’m sure you’re a rapist and a s*x addict like the beast you call a dad” He stood up and started walking around the office.
Mariano’s once smiley face changed to a frown as he balled his fist. Still, he never wanted Nathan, his uncle, to think his words were getting to him.
” Isn’t it a pity the same blood runs in your body? Isn’t that why we’re family? It’s in the gene, dear uncle” Mariano chuckled. The office door opened and a girl came in with two cups of coffee.
” Thanks” Mariano collected both and the girl left. He walked over to his uncle and placed one of the mugs in front of him.
” Even though I was born in a family like that; here I am, making a name for myself but it’s a pity you have no one to call a child… And Rose, my mom is still very much alive and eating the fruit of her labor. She’ll probably dié with a smile on, but I can’t say the same for you, cos I’m sure you’re still as hideous as usual. Now I’m regretting why I never ended your life all these years” Mariano smiled before sipping from his coffee.
” Well Uncle Nathan, I’m not jobless and I need to work… Can you kindly leave my office? You’re delaying me” Mariano flashed him a smile and sat.
Santiago chuckled even though he was pained.
” Let’s meet again, nephew… but then…”
” You’ll dié first” Mariano added, which made Santiago chuckle. Mariano smiled at him one last time before facing his desktop.
Santiago stared at Mariano again with so much rage before leaving the office. Immediately he did, Mariano looked up. He exhaled deeply and closed his eyes.
” Why’s he suddenly bearing Santiago? I’m sure he’s still as evil as ever. I thought he left the country? Then why is he back?” Mariano wondered.
” If he knows my company, then he probably knows my home too, and… ” Mariano trailed off and suddenly gasped.
” He must be after my company the way he did with Dad’s. But then, Dad’s company went bankrupt so he couldn’t… Wow, the Di-falco family won’t stop amusing me” He chuckled and resumed working on his desktop.

∆∆ JESSE’S MANSION°°
After Gladys was done with her morning routine, Jesse entered the room almost immediately and she hugged him.
” I made breakfast” He smiled.
” Alright babe” Gladys smiled too. Jesse held her waist as he led her out of the room. They got to the dining and met Larry standing not far from the table.
” Good morning Sir” Larry bowed
” Babe, I didn’t see the maids… Did they resign?” Gladys asked as she sat down while Jesse sat next to her.
” I asked them to leave cos I’ll be leaving for the States in a few weeks when I’m done with what I came for” He replied.
” The states? And you’re just telling me? ”
” Why” Jesse raised a brow.
” It’s not in a week time or two right?”
” I don’t know, but I’ll let you know when I decide ” He smiled and Gladys nodded.
Jesse looked at Larry and Larry nodded slightly. Jesse smiled again as he faced Gladys.
” Why aren’t you eating?” She asked.
” I need to be somewhere, and if I eat breakfast right now, I might not want to go out anymore ” He replied and she nodded in understanding. She continued eating while Jesse watched her.
In no time, she was done and stood up. Jesse pulled her into a hug, then kissed her hair.
She smiled at him.
He took her hands and led her out of the house to her car. She kissed him shortly and got into her car before driving off. Jesse chuckled and went back into the mansion.
” Boss”
” Did you confirm? “Jesse asked as he took off his mask. ” I don’t need to hide under this mask anymore… and moreover it’s time for everyone who knows Jesse to die ”
” Yes boss ” Larry bowed.
” What’ll happen to Gladys, boss? Will she die?”
” You’re having a soft spot for her already” Ruby asked.
” I dare not, boss” Larry went on his knees.
” The poison she consumed minutes ago will kill her slowly. In a few weeks, her funeral will be held” Ruby said and sat on the couch.
” About the Dorian girl… I need her” He added.
” But…”
” I’m beginning to doubt Santario. He said he doesn’t know where Menodora is when he’s in love with her best friend? Isn’t it absurd?” Ruby thought aloud.
” Have you gotten Menodora’s whereabouts? ”
” I have, Boss. She’s a student of ULatina. What should I do?”
” Go to her school and bring her here tonight… Since Bills don’t want to show up, I’ll make him do so using his precious boss’ daughter” Ruby smiled.
” Okay boss” Larry bowed and left.

Dorian was setting the table when the door opened and Santario came in. Before she could start scolding him, he hugged her.
” Are you okay?” She asked as she hugged him back.
” I love you, I really mean it ” He said, fighting back his tears.
She force herself out of his hold and looked at him, her hands roved his face.
” No lies, what happened?” She asked.
He smiled and kissed her deeply, but she bite his lips.
” Don’t you dare avoid my questions” She warned.
” Why did you change your mind about coming back home yesterday? I had a sleepless night” She scolded.
He pulled her to the dining and helped her seat.
He continued setting the dining from where she stopped. After he was done, he sat next to her.
” I missed you” He smiled.
” Cut the crap and tell me what happened else I’m gonna bite you” She warned and he chuckled at her cuteness.
He stared at her for a while and didn’t bother to look away.
” What”
” You’re pretty” He said and her cheeks flushed. She cleared her throat, trying to stop herself from blushing.
” Can you just please tell me what went wrong? And your face? Were you beaten? Was it Ruby?” She asked and he smiled.
” Don’t worry, I’ll take care of him myself. My priority right now is you” He said and when she noticed he wouldn’t say anything, she stared down at her food and started picking on it.
” I promise to tell you about it tonight, okay?” He said and her face brightened. She nodded like a baby before eating her food.
She fed him part of it too.
” How is it? Delicious?” She asked and he nodded.
” But you’re more delicious” He said and that earned a giggle from her.
She kept talking as they ate, but Santario had a lot in his head as he stared at her with so much passion.

MARIANO’S MANSION
Rose was smiling as she applied lipstick to her lips. She felt happy and didn’t know why. Was it because her son called her mom? She just couldn’t fathom the reason for her joy.
After she was done, she left for her door and immediately she opened up, she saw him. The same man who’s been haunting her for years now.
” Hey, dear beautiful wife ” He smiled and her heart raced, in fear.
” Wow, can’t believe my lovely wife is living happily after killing me” He said.
” You… You’re dead, Ethan” Rose stuttered, taking few steps backwards.
” Yeah, you killed me and I’m here to take you and our son, Mariano, with me. Miguel is so lonely in heaven” Ethan laughed as he walked fully into the room.
Looking at him well, Rose knew he wasn’t dead and that made fear grip her the more.
” I h@të seeing you both happy. I was so pleased when I thought he became a replica of me. The way he treated you made me very happy. The loud cry of Menodora Richardson the night he R@PED her… I’m very proud of him, he’s my son after all” Ethan smiled.
” Lately, he’s been starting to annoy me. What did you do that made him free you from bondage? how can you even think of being happy? You poisoned Mariano too, remember?” He faked tears.
” I had to bury Miguel myself that cold night.. my own dear son. Well, you can visit his grave with some flowers when you have the time”
” What do you want, Ethan? It won’t take me anything to kill you again and how the hell did you get into the house without anyone’s knowledge?” Rose found her voice.
Ethan laughed.
” Everything going on in this house comes directly to me. It’s just so sad my son now has a soft spot for people and even trusts them, but guess what? Ethan faced Rose.
He went close to her and leaned forward.
” I’ll tell him his dad killed the parents of the girl he’s in love with”
” What?”
” Ahh! Lest I forget; he knew about my plans, but he kept quiet… So in other words, we killed the Richardson together. Isn’t it amazing news? How will Menodora see him? Is she still gonna love him? Of course not! There’s nothing like love on this Earth cos even you, don’t know the meaning of love”
Rose balled her fist as tears left her eyes.
” Well, honey… ” Ethan leaned closer and kissed her neck.
” Let’s see how Dora will get the news too. I won’t leave without a proper message for my precious son. He’s all I’ve got now” He laughed and made to leave but Rose held him back.
” What do you gain.. can’t you just pretend to be good for once? We’ve never been the happy type of family to our kids, why don’t we take the chance now since you’re alive? Why can’t Mariano just live a peaceful life?” She shouted in tears.
” Peaceful you say? Peaceful life when you didn’t hesitate to kill me?”
” Cos I caught you cheating”
” Yeah! I cheated cos you wouldn’t give me your d@mn pu$$y every f*cking time I needed it”
” You’re crazy! ” Rose shouted and a slap landed on her face, scattering her hair.
” And you… what were you? You go clubbing every f*cking time, forgetting the fact that you were a mother of two… You come home late every night, all drunk. What were you intending to teach your kids? The Di-falco family is a total mess” Ethan laughed hard.
” You R@PED our maids, made our poor kids watch you, beat them mercilessly if they don’t. So tell me; don’t you deserve death? ”
” You killed Miguel”
” Is that an excuse now? Killing Miguel was an accident and we both know it. There’s no day I don’t feel guilty for taking the young boy’s life. It would’ve been more explanatory if Mariano didn’t witness it. To him, I killed you and Miguel but the truth is I killed just you… Miguel just… ” She paused and blinked her tears continuously.
” He begged you to stop! You were so engrossed with killing me, that Miguel suddenly looked like me which made you kill him too” Ethan laughed.
” It’s a good thing that Mariano has that memory stored in his head. To him, you killed the most priceless jewel he had when we were far from him which is Miguel” He shook his head.
” But all these years, I’ve been curious to know why you poisoned him too” He said, but Rose kept mute.
” Well honey, I might get a rethink when I see those two lovebirds apart” He said, and left the room completely.. Rose went after him but was surprised he was nowhere close to her room.
Did he disappear?
She held her chest as she squatted on the spot, crying her eyes out.
” If only I had been a good mother back then. If only I had neglected Ethan and just focused on my kids, then this wouldn’t be happening. Miguel wouldn’t have died! ” She ruffled her hair maniacally as she cried.
” How do I convince Mariano that killing his brother was a mistake when he saw it himself? How will he even believe me when all I did was go clubbing, smoke, and drink myself to stupor? Gawd, what should I do?”
She suddenly stopped crying.
” Ethan killed the Richardson? And Mariano is aware?! No! I must stop Ethan from meeting Mariano ” She muttered and rushed out.
