Episode 28. Last episode.
“What are you talking about? What are you hiding from me?” Eddie asked again as he walked towards them.
“We can’t tell him. Let’s think of something else to say!” Paula whispered sharply at Dianne.
“What is that? Is there something I should know?” Eddie asked again.
“Eh……not really. We were just talking about something.” Dianne quickly said.
“About what?”
“We were saying that if Jocelyn is really with Adam…that you are gonna get bothered.” Paula chipped in.
Eddie looked at them suspiciously and shrugged. “We all know that bastard is hiding Jocelyn. There’s no doubt about that.”
“And we are gonna make sure she comes back to us.” Dianne assured him.
Eddie headed out of the room without saying anything and the girls breathed in a sigh of relief.
“That was a close one.” Paula whispered.
“But…. somehow, we have to tell him. We can’t keep hiding it from him.” Dianne whispered back.
“Not yet. Please..do not say anything to him. It will only increase the panic.”
Dianne sighed. “That’s true. I think we have to hold on for a while.” She suggested.

Eddie climbed down the stairs and sat on a sofa with a bottle of strong wine in his hand.
He has never been the type to get drunk but he felt the needed it at that moment.
He couldn’t bear the thought of losing his angel; the only woman he has ever loved.
He uncapped the bottle and poured a large quantity of the liquor into his mouth. He sighed and wiped his face and realised that he has been crying.
“Gosh.” He mumbled, surprised that he could shed tears.
His phone started to ring and he quickly picked it up without checking for the caller. “Jocelyn? Angel……is that you?”
“No! It’s me your aunt Daniella.”
Eddie’s countenance fell immediately. “Oh. Aunt. What’s happening?”
“It’s your brother. Leo has not been in school for the past three weeks. I visited him but…. didn’t see him.
His friends and favourite lecturer said it’s been long he has come to school and they weren’t bothered because he said he was travelling to the states. Can you imagine that?” Daniella asked with her voice raised.
“So he’s missing too, yeah?” Eddie asked slowly. He was getting drunk.
“Yes……Eddie, are you okay? Who else is missing?”
“My wife. I can’t find her aunt. Yeah….. she’s been gone since last night. I have a suspect tho but no evidence yet.”
“Jesus. Oh my God. What’s happening to us.? Does your mom knows about this already?”
“No. I’ve not told her. I’m confused right now, aunt. I don’t know what to do again.”
“Calm down, okay?, Everything is gonna be fine. Both Jocelyn and Leo are gonna be found. Nothing will happen to them.”
Eddie sighed again and emptied the remaining liquor in the bottle into his mouth.

Leo was sitting in front of the door with his back resting against the frame while he continued staring at Jocelyn who was slowly taking cereal and milk.
He was somehow bittered. After hearing she was pregnant, he really didn’t have the courage anymore. The courage to do the abduction thing.
“Are you okay?” Leo asked but Jocelyn ignored him entirely.
“Please answer me.” He said again and Jocelyn glanced at him.
“If I tell you I’m okay….what are you gonna do then?” Jocelyn asked as she dropped her spoon.
“At least…. I’d tell you sorry.”
“The sorry you will tell me right now is to help me get out of here.” Jocelyn mumbled.
“I’m sorry but I can’t. My money will be at stake.”
“I will give you all the money you want. I can even double it, please. I could be your sister…..”
“Not so fast, dearie.” Rihanna cut in, coming into the room. “Not so fast. You can’t be his sister. This guy here is not letting you go anywhere….not when I’m here.”
“Since I’m the one occupying this room for now, I have rights over it right? Get out of this room Rihanna.”
“You have no right to tell me to get out. This is not your house. And you Leo or wh@tëver, you know what Adam is going to do to you when he finds out you let this Bîtch go. He’s taking good care of you. Look at you…..you are glowing!”
Rihanna said and laughed.
Jocelyn groaned and looked away. “Oh please…… please, you sound like a crazy fool right now.”
Rihanna ignored her and continued laughing as she walked out of the room.
“I’m sorry.” Leo mumbled and left too.
Now alone, she burst into tears and sobbed silently. She couldn’t think of anything else than Eddie and her unborn child.
She touched the surface of her stomach and sniffed as she glared down at it. “Don’t worry baby. We are gonna get through this. We will see Daddy again.”

Leo stood in front of the door and sighed. Hearing her saying those words were taking effect on him.
“What are you thinking about?” Mac asked, approaching him.
Leo quickly composed himself and faked a smile.
“Oh nothing! I was just wondering about what I’m gonna do with my money! You know….I should start making plans.”
“I see. Here’s your phone. It has been ringing for like ages. Answer the call and hand it over when you are done.” Mac said and left after handing over the phone to Leo. The phone began to ring again.
“Who’s…..” Leo stopped and his eyes widened when he saw it was his mother calling.
“I thought she has gone to my school already. ” Leo said. He swallowed hard and picked the call.
“Mom…?”
“Leo! Oh my God! Thank God you are alive! Where are you!” Daniella shouted from the other line.
“I’m fine mom. I just went to some place.” Leo replied.
“And where is that? Why didn’t you tell Eddie before you left? Why?”
“It’s was an emergency.”
“You’d better come home and offer him all the support he needs right now.” His mother sounded angry.
“What support? What’s happening over there?”
“His wife is missing! We’ve been trying to look for her.” Daniella wept.
“Missing?” Leo asked and glanced back at Jocelyn’s food. “Missing?” He asked again.
“Yes missing! We’ve been looking everywhere for her but nothing is working. Eddie says they have a suspect but no proof yet. You have to come home and help him out. He’s been helping you before now.”
“What’s the name of…. No, don’t worry mom. I will call you back.” Leo said and quickly cut the call. He was afraid of that question because his assumptions might turn out to be true.
He quickly went back into Jocelyn’s room and met her still sobbing. “What’s your husband’s name? Is he a doctor?” Leo asked all at once.
His questions startled Jocelyn and she stopped crying for the moment. “Yes. Why did you ask?”
“Oh my God. No…..this is not happening. Maybe it’s not the doctor that I know…”
“His name is Eddie. Edward Wayne.” Jocelyn interrupted, staring at Leo.
“What?” Leo whispered, shock written all over his face. “You are Jocelyn,his wife? Oh my God.
What have I done?”
Leo asked and sat down beside Jocelyn on the bed. He buried his head in his palms and sighed. What has he done!
“Do you know him? You know my husband?” Jocelyn asked.
Leo sighed again and slowly looked at her. “He’s my cousin.”
Jocelyn asked and stared at him with shook. “What did you say? Are you the cousin he’s been telling me about that lives with him?”
Leo nodded and gasped. He rubbed his hands on his face and shook his head. “What have I done? He’s never gonna forgive me.”
“He will forgive you if you make things right, right now. Report to the police…. please.”
The door opened and Adam walked in. Leo quickly left Jocelyn’s side but it was too late.
Adam already heard everything. “Bravo.” He laughed and walked over to Leo’s side. “Let me have your phone.”
“Why?” Leo asked, staring at him boldly in the face.
“Are you nuts? Do you know who I am? Do you know what I can do to you right now?” Adam thundered.
From the corner of his eyes, Leo saw Jocelyn grabbing the nightstand beside the bed. She slowly walked behind Adam and smashed it on his head.
Adam grunted in pain and fell on the ground.
“Hurry up! We gotta get out of here!” Leo said and grabbed Jocelyn’s hand as they both ran out of the room.
“Mac!!” Adam yelled out, trying to stand up. His back head was bloody, making him weak. “Mac!! Get them!!” He yelled again.

“There are more guards outside, right?” Jocelyn asked as they ran down the stairs.
“No! That was a lie. We have Mac and Rihanna to deal with right now. Do you know if you are strong enough to take her out?”
Jocelyn nodded with determination as they continued running. Just as they expected, Mac and Rihanna were already waiting at the entrance.
“Where do you think you are taking her to?” Mac asked, moving closer to them.
Rihanna laughed and looked at Jocelyn. “If I can’t have him, then you certainly will not. You are not going anywhere!” She raved.
“Watch me!” Jocelyn cried and ran towards her. She pulled her by the hair and swung her here and there.
Rihanna screamed, trying to shake Jocelyn off but she was surprisingly stronger than her.
Jocelyn flung her on the ground and sat on her, punching her so hard in the face.
On the other hand, Mac and Leo were throwing punches at each other, waiting for the weaker victim to fall.
“Stop hitting me you Bîtch!” Rihanna screamed from the floor.
“No. You deserve to die!” Jocelyn screamed down at her and continued punching till she knocked the breath out of her.
She stood up and just then, Adam appeared at the top of the stairs, his face creased with pain.
Leo gave Mac a big punch, throwing him on the ground. “Did you really think you could beat me? Because you’ve got all those muscles! Huh!”
“Get up you bastard!, Get up and bring Jocelyn up here!” Adam screamed from the stairs. His head was still bleeding.
“We have to run now!” Jocelyn shouted from where she stood.
Leo ran towards her and together, they ran out of the house.
Adam roared out angrily and out of frustration, he threw himself down the stairs.
He rolled all the way down and pounced on Mac and gave him more punches to his bleeding face.

Everyone was in Eddie’s house, a look of worry sitting on their faces.
Two police men were there with them, taking reports about Adam.
They were planning on getting a warrant for his arrest.
“He’s a very powerful man in the society with no ordinary parents. It will be hard to get to warrant but we will try our best sir.” The head police officer said and Eddie sighed.
“I will be very glad if you can do that. I’m certain he’s hiding Jocelyn somewhere. Everything is pointing to that.
It’s been long he slept last in his house. We have to do something about this. I don’t want anything to happen to her…..”
“And the baby.” Dianne interrupted and everyone gasped and stared at her.
Eddie was up on his feet immediately. “What baby?”
“I told you not to say anything! You are adding to the problem.” Paula scolded Dianne.
She shook her head. “They have to know. We can’t keep hiding it…”
“What baby!” Eddie yelled.
“Jocelyn is Pregnant. She told Paula about it before she was kidnapped. She was going to break the news to everyone but….this happened.”
“Oh my God.” Eddie’s hands flew up to hold his head as though it was about rolling off.
The twin moms stared at each other, shocked and worried.
“Now we really have to be serious with this! Oh no! I never knew that guy was a sick brain!, Little wonder Jocelyn attempted suicide because of him!’ Angeline cried.
“She’s gonna be fine, Angeline. Did you tell her father about it?” Gabriella asked.
“No I didn’t. He doesn’t have to know.” Angeline mumbled.
Just then, there was a noice outside the front door.
Everyone turned around to take a look. Leo came in then, with look of regret on his face.
“Leo!” His mother shouted and ran up to meet him. And embraced him. “Oh Leo! Where have you been!”
Leo didn’t answer his mom, rather, his eyes were on Eddie. He slowly left his mom’s side and walked over to Eddie. “I’m sorry.” He mumbled with his head, bowed.
“What are you talking about…..” Eddie was interrupted with someone else’s presence in the house.
They all looked up and saw Jocelyn coming into the house.
“Jocelyn!” Her friends screamed and rushed towards her. Angeline cried out happily and ran to her daughter, hugging her with tears.
They hugged her for a very long time while Eddie only stared on in shock.
What was happening?

When everything was calm and Leo had already explained all that happened, Eddie was heartbroken.
He couldn’t believe Leo would go as far as doing such a dirty job to get his hands on money.
“How could you? See what you’ve caused? You ended up abducting your own cousin brother’s wife.!” His mother scolded him.
“It’s really not his fault. He didn’t know who I was. Immediately he knew, he rescued me.”
Jocelyn mumbled. She was sitting so close to Eddie, her hand on his chest while Eddie’s hand was roaming all over her stomach; all over their baby.
“I’m sorry Eddie. Please… forgive me. I know I’ve been a bad guy but this has taught me a great lesson. Please….can you forgive me?” Leo asked, almost on his knees.
“It’s okay. After all, we are brothers.” Eddie replied with a smile. All he’s ever needed was finally beside him so he could let go of anything else.
Eddie’s phone rang. The call was from the police men. “Tell me some good news please.”
“Yes. The abductors of your wife have been apprehended. Don’t worry about them anymore. We will make sure they are properly dealt with.”
“Thanks Rick. It’s great to have a friend like you.”
Eddie cut the call and stared down at Jocelyn’s face. “Angel….are you sure you are not hungry? You are carrying our baby in your womb. You’ve got to eat.”,
“I’m okay, Eddie. I will eat latter. I’m just too excited to be back home beside you.” Jocelyn mumbled and snuggled up to him tight.
Everyone else smiled excitedly. Finally, they could have some rest.

The night that followed was a peaceful one for the couple who were expecting their first baby.
“I don’t blame Rihanna tho. It’s hard to accept defeat when it comes to love.” Jocelyn mumbled as she closed her eyes with a smile, enjoying the way Eddie’s arms gave her the feeling she couldn’t get in the last two days.
“She’s behind bars now. She will learn to accept defeat in there.”, Eddie replied.
Jocelyn stared up at his face. “What do we name out baby?”
“If it’s a girl, we will name her Crystal and if it’s a boy, we will name him Christine.”
Jocelyn smiled. “Really? I love that!” She reached up and kissed him on the lips.
Just when she was about to withdraw, Eddie tightened his arms around her and prolonged the kiss.
Jocelyn giggled and relaxed back. Yes. This kiss……was all she needed!!
