“24 karat magic in the air–” Neon walked in singing and dancing but upon seeing Ryat standing as still as a mountain he abruptly stopped. Staring at him, he said, “Carnage? Are you okay man?” he walked around him and placed a hand on his shoulder.

“Looks like you’ve seen a ghost,” he chuckled.

“No, I’ve heard from Satan,” he said flatly, his eyes slightly bulged with bewilderment.

Neon started laughing and rested his head on his shoulder. “That’s a good one, Ryat!”

He slowly turned his head to look at him and blinked once. He wasn’t laughing. “I’m dead serious, Zayde. Ace Rivera called a moment ago. He…he says I k!lled, r@ped his mom and fed her to Lions.”

Neon’s smile morphed into a horrified look within milliseconds. “That’s b*llSh|t. Ace and Ajay are d**d. How the hell could they have called you?”

“Look at me, Neon, do I look like I Füçking know?” he huffed and walked off to sit on the bed next to a still very knocked out Meira. He checked her pulse just to make sure she was still breathing as she looked d**d. “I don’t know how he got my number either, and I definitely don’t know what the Füçk he’s talking about.”

Neon came and settled next to him, elbows on his knees and eyes trained on the yellow carpet beneath his feet. “They didn’t d**? Then who the hell did we bury? Whose bodies did we see shot up and burned to a crisp? What the Füçk is going on?”

“I wish I had an answer, I really do.” he sighed and messaged his temples. “I’ll get to the bottom of this tomorrow, for tonight let’s clean Meira up and get her back home. Remember we have things to do, and I don’t want your Cartel on my @.”

“Right,” Neon looked back at Meira, still sleeping like a log. “If you need any help, hit me up. The Cartel may own me, but my loyalty is with y’all.”

This made Ryat smile. The two balled their fists and bumped them. Moments afterward, they brought Meira into the bathtub and washed her thoroughly then dresses. It broke their hearts to return her home but they had no choice but to.

By the crack of dawn, the boys returned her to the Hamilton mansion with indignation and agony in their hearts. The Mafia made them unable to spend time with the ones they truly love, and every day it seems a new conflict is brought up. Once the job was done, the two said their goodbyes knowing when they’d see each other again and left in separate vehicles heading for different Mafia groups headquarters and located in Falkon City, or Blood Valley as they call it.

????????? ??, ????? ?????…

“Boss, we have failed to find the whereabouts of former Capo, Marcello Corleone, code-named MC.” one of his best trackers fearfully informed him. Beads of sweat formed and rolled down his forehead. “I apologize, sir, but I will keep looking.”

Dom turned around and roughly pulled a hand down his face. He stared at the wall of the computer room with hooded eyes and pupils swimming in furious darkness. Before long, he grabbed a computer and smashed it into the wall.

No one looked or said anything to him.

“How can it be so hard to find one Füçking person?” he bellowed angrily. The thought that maybe Marcello ran away and took his own life clawed its way into his swirling thoughts but he pushed it away. MC is healthy, mentally and physically. He knows that for a fact. “Keep looking. Find him. Check the CCTV footage again. I don’t care how many times we’ve seen it before, look for a clue, a bird, a feather, something. Anything!”

He kicked one of the tables over and rested his hands on his hips. Panting with flared nostrils. His face was twisted into a bone-chillinh expression that would make the Devil cower.

“B…boss,” someone called him. Their voice trembling despite the stoicness on their face.

Dom turned to him with knives in his eyes. “Si?”

“Lady Danger. She sends for you, sir.” he bowed.

“Now? Right now?” he raised a brow, his irration growing higher by the mention of her name.

“Si. We, um, also have some visits. From the Fear Hounds Brotherhood, or The Wolvez,” he gulped.

Ryat pushed passed him and stomped his way to the lounge where he knew he’d find the snake. Storming into a business meeting was considered disrespectful and childish, but he was so stressed he couldn’t care less. Striding insides with a cold aura the dropped the room temperature, he took a seat next to Lady Danger and scanned his surroundings.

A man, who he recognized as Wolfgang from the black and white photos years ago, sat in a couch silently drinking tea. Seated next to him is his daughter, who was also in the photo. Their eyes met and ahe looked away angrily. He noticed a small girl with an eye patch, and lastly Lady Danger next to him with jaws clenched tight he was positive she’d break a molar.

“Can someone explain what is going on here?” he sported his Italian accent.

“Good evening to you too, Mr. De Leone,” Wolfe said and smiled at him. “You must always greet your elders.”

“You must know I don’t give a flying Sh|t about elders or youngsters. What is it that you want?” he asked with furrowed eyebrows.

“You will not achieve anything by being a cantankerous young man. The Ravens have spoiled you a lot, but don’t worry. Fatherhood will humble you,” Wolfe sat the cup and saucer down and crossed his legs. He was a sophisticated silver fox with a dark and noble aura. He was the type of man to smile while cutting you in half with a chainsaw.

“Lady Danger, what is this man doing here? I thought dogs aren’t supposed to be in houses,” Ryat runs his eyes over him with irritation.

“Domenico.” she says. She sounds as if she’s restraining herself. “Be quiet. This is serious.”

Ryat squinted his eyes. Confused is an understatement. Still he remained silent as requested. He’d made her scrub toilets later for speaking to him like that.

“This young lady,” Wolfe starts, “is your daughter.”

Silence ensued. The room so soundless a pin falling on the ground with echo loudly.

Wolfgang snaps and his men, dressed from head to toe in grey, comes over carrying the little girl with one eye. They put her down and she runs to Wolfe then jumps in his arms. Giggling like the child she was.

“Pardon me?” Ryat didn’t understand what he meant. He had no daughter, unless Meira magically got pregnant and gave birth within twelve hours. “I have no daughter. Cut the crap and get to the point. Why are you here?”

“Ryat, calm down.” he chuckles and turns the girl to face him. “In your Füçked up initiation process you r@ped a young woman, and your people discarded her. Well, she survived being thrown in the ocean. She washed up to sure on my private island and told me her story. I took care of her until she gave birth, and afterward she went mad and almost k!lled hed daughter. Well, your daughter.”

Before Ryat could speak, Wolfgang continued. “And that is not all. You see, Theodore Hamilton and I made a deal–”

He stood up and left the room before Wolfgang could finish. He thought he’d already sorted that stupid Sh|t out about the arranged marriage. This can’t be happening. A child? A wife? He needn’t hear more, he already pieced the puzzle together.

“Domenico!” Donatella yelled from behind. “Stop!”

Ryat had had enough of everything and everyone in that place. It seems as if he was cursed. The moment one problem comes out and he solves it another forms. He planned to leave the Mafia, and with a wife that would be ten times more impossible. And he certainly didn’t plan on a woman he doesn’t even know. That’s ridiculous.

“Dom! Please!” he heard the sound of her heels clacking against the floor. “This is important!”

He gave in and stopped walking. Refusing to face her. He was white-knuckled with a tight jaw and flared nostrils. Everything happening lately was pushing him closer and closer to brink of insanity, and at this point, he might just jump right over.

“What, woman?” he barked at her furiously.

“I know how you feel–”

“You know nothing about me, you filthy imbecile.”

“Dom–”

“Ryat. My name is Ryat,” he approached her viciously. He swore to never lay his hands on a woman, but the one before him is testing the patience he hardly has for anything these days.

“I’m so tired and fed up with everything. Füçk you. Füçk the Mafia. And Füçk me.” he pointed at her chest as he spoke. Jaw ticking like a time bomb.

“Listen to me, Ryat.” she lowered her gaze. “I know how you feel. You h@të this, and I do too. I planned to get you in an arranged marriage with someone else, an Italian. Your mother already ruined things by s**king an American’s ÇOçk then having you. So you must marry an Italian. We do not, under any circvmstances, associate with the Russians. But…your father did make a deal and he has proof.”

He said nothing, only studying her while his brain races chaotically.

“That… Can I trust you?” she bit her lower lip.

“Füçk no,” he spat venomously.

“Look, Ryat. Yulia, his daughter? We’ve been together for seven years,” she spoke lowly as to not be heard. Sound travels through the walls and may reach the wrong ears. “You know it’s forbidden to date the same gender in the Mafia. It’s deplorable. Wrong. Forbidden. And she’s off-limits because she is the enemy’s daughter.”

Ryat’s rage paused for a second. Lady Danger, his aunt, was lesbian? He backed away from her.

“Hey! Don’t give me that Sh|t,” she pulled him back by his arm. “No one complained when you were Füçking your stepsister into unconsciousness.”

“Füçk the hell off you dyke,” he said through gritted teeth. “Why are you telling me this?”

“What do you mean why? That is my woman. The one I plan to marry. I can’t let you, my son, marry the woman I love. I’m not that sick in the head. We need to find a way out of this, I know you don’t want to marry her either,” Lady Danger placed her hands on her hips and turned away from him.

“Russains take arranged marriages seriously, Donatella, there is no way out,” he says with a sigh. “I just can’t believe I have a Füçking daughter.”

“Well you better believe it because the Russians also don’t play when it comes onto family. You are his son-in-law. Which would make the girls his step granddaughter. And as you can see, they’ve already grown attached to each other,” she shakes her head. “I don’t know what to do about this.”

“Fellas,” Wolfgang appears with a sickeningly sweet smile. “What seems to be the issue? Ryat, why did you walk out?”

They flinched and looked at him.

“Oh, Mr. Mikhael!” Lady Danger fakes laugh. “Ryat doesn’t believe the arranged marriage stuff. Could you show him the docvment?”

“Why, yes.” he brought the paper and showed them.

Ryat read throw the terms and agreements of the contract, and his father had signed it. That’s his hand writing at the bottom. If he didn’t believe before, he believes now. And things just got more complicated that it should be.

“The soon-to-be-bride will spend forty days and night with the soon-to-be-groom. During which an engagement ceremony will be held along with a meeting to properly merge the two families.” Wolfgang seemed proud. “I am quite pleased to have my daughter marry a handsome man like yourself. Oh, and before I forgert, your daughter wants to see you.”

Lady Danger quickly signalled Ryat with her eyes.

“What’s her name?” he asked.

“She has no name. I wanted the father to do the honor of naming her.” he stepped out of the way for Ryat to go back to the room, and that he did.

Lady Danger and Yulia made eye contact once she entered. They didn’t say anything to each other but understand that what was happening hurt them equally.

Ryat sat down and the little girl slowly approached him with a rose in her hand. She held it up and looked at him. Her eye the same shade as his. Her hair was of the same quality and deep black color, and she had a birthmark peaking from behind her ear. Just like him.

“Go on princess,” Wolfgang urged her on and shot Ryat a look. “Your father wants to talk to you.”

Ryat shot him an icy glare, which the man smiled at. “So, daughter, you don’t have a name?”

She shook her head. “Grandpa calls me princess, and my step mommy calls me St*pid.”

Before Ryat could reply he heard snorts and looked around to see a few of the men holding back their laughter. He was deeply offended by their unprofessionalism. It’s clear she’s being b*llied by Yulia, yet they’re laughing at his daughter in his presence? He was about to stand and go discipline them like a true Godfather when two shots rang out. Holes – that weren’t there before – now marred the midst of their foreheads and blood ran next to their noses like a waterfall.

They dropped d**d soon after.

Wolfgang lowered his hand with the silver barrel g*n. His jaws locked tight, eyes narrowed and brows furrowed. Nostrils flaring as if he’d start breathing fire at any minute.

“Wolfgang! How dare you enter our domain and shoot my men?” Lady Danger was livid. Acrylic nails digging into her palms.

“Perhaps you should teach your men manners. What do I look like? A man who likes to play games? I’ve had it with the nonsense from you Italians. First your Don was very unprofessional and disrespectful, then he walked out mid sentence and you chased after him, then your godfellas on cocaine dare to laugh at my granddaughter. I do not tolerate that. You may say wh@tëver you wish to me, but never speak illy or my family. You will die for that.” every word he said was laced with venom and coldness. The glare he wore could freeze a lake over.

“Now, let us discuss the truce. Since my daughter will be marrying your nephew, we will have to cooperate and eliminate all bad blood. And perhaps, together we could get rid of the Doves,” he pocketed his g*n and plastered a smile on his face as he didn’t just take two lives. “I know where their main hideout in Falkon City is located. All of them are there; the main Kingpin, and the other important Sicarios that guard him. My men and I are planning an attack. You may join if you wish.”

Ryat’s heart froze inside his chest, and then shattered into a million pieces. ‘No…’

Lady Danger raised a brow, now interested in what he has to say. “Is that so, Mr. Wolfe?”

“Yes. I also know they have one of your men captive. Probably torturing the poor thing to reveal your hideout. What’s his name again? MC? I don’t remember, but he is quite attractive with eyes that resemble jades,” Wolfgang sat down and crossed his legs. “On the same name former Mafia Donna, Maria Larussa was k!lled, one of the loathsome scvmbags kidnapped him and took him to God knows where.”

“What else do you know?” Lady Danger stepped closer.

Wolfgang’s chuckled and grinned…well, wolfishly. He sighed, staring at her with tender eyes and said, “This Friday night we will be attacking their nest. And if you know anything about Russian’s, you would know we never disappointed. We are going there to k!ll the Doves, and that’s exactly what we will be doing. Again, you may join or not.”

He stood up and smoothed his suit out. “Now, if will excuse me, I and my daughter will go to the store to decide what kind of cake she wants. You know I like to waste money. Thank you for your time. We will be back within two days, which is when we will execute the plan,” he placed a card on the table and put his hat and coat on. “Call me if you need anything. Thank you for your time.”

He turned to leave. Yulia stomped outside before him, her anger felt from miles away.

“Excuse me, Mr. Wolfe, but I’m afraid you are forgetting something,” Lady Danger said, pointing at the little girl.

He smiled. “No, I am not. That is your nephew’s daughter, I now leave her in his care. Princess, I will see you soon. Take care, my beautiful girl.”

“Bye!” the little girl grinned and waved.

The Russians left shortly after and the room fell silent. Everyone was lost in their thoughts, and Ryat didn’t seem to acknowledge the little girl climbing on the couch and sitting next to him. He was such to deep in thought – thinking about one thing.

Neon.

They’re going to k!ll him.
