β€œI did promise, but I never said I was gonna keep it,” Blueberry stated.

β€œWhat?!” Devyn exclaimed, unable to believe it.

β€œYou should eat something before it gets cold,” Blueberry said, heading to where he kept the food. He took it without even glancing at her and left the kitchen for the dining area.

He began eating slowly. Just then, Devyn entered and sat down next to him.

β€œBerry, it’s a joke, right? Tell me you’re joking,” She pleaded, and Blueberry raised his head to look at her.

β€œIt wasn’t,” he replied, and she ran her hand through her hair, appearing frustrated. She didn’t know what to say, so she stood up.

β€œAren’t you eating?” he asked, watching her, sensing her desire to leave. She stopped and faced him directly, her brows furrowed.

β€œI’m not interested,” she said and walked into her room. Blueberry stared at her for a while, then continued eating his food. He stopped, and his mind drifted to the K!SS they had shared.

β€œWhat’s wrong with me? Is Mu Yul responsible for this? Wait, did I really fail to keep my promise? When did these feelings start? Have I watched so many series that I’ve lost my mind?” He pondered.

β€œRegardless of the cause, I’ve told her how I felt tonight,” he mumbled, standing up. He cleared the table and left for his room. He lay on his bed, contemplating what her last wish might be. Meanwhile, Devyn, on the other hand, diverted her thoughts from the earlier events and slowly succvmbed to sleep.

β€œDad, why do you h@tΓ« me so much? What did I ever do to deserve this?” Felix’s tiny voice cried out, and a slap landed on his face.

β€œYou killed your mother… You killed my wife. It would have been better if you had died and she had lived. You bring bad luck,” His dad shouted. That had always been the caseβ€”his dad h@tΓ«d him intensely and blamed him for his mother’s death. The fact that his mother died during childbirth was his only crime.

β€œDad,” Felix cried, but his dad dragged him to the basement, which was dark and filled with fear.

β€œI h@tΓ« seeing your face,” his dad said and left the basement, locking up his only 12-year-old son.

β€œDad!!” Felix shouted.

β€œDad, dad… Dad!! Please don’t leave me here,” Mu Yul screamed from his sleep as his eyes flew open. He began P@Ε‹ting heavily as beads of sweat formed on his forehead.

β€œWho was that?” he muttered.

JAYDEN’S MANSION

The employees weren’t that drunk, but they were screaming.

Cecilia couldn’t afford to drink alcohol since she had never had one before. She believed it made one look like a fool, so she only drank juice. She was scared of getting drunk in another man’s house.

Coming here wasn’t comfortable either, but she was in no spot to say no because of her colleagues.

Her slightly drunk colleagues were dancing funnily as she watched them enjoying themselves with the music playing. Cherry, Jayden’s secretary, kept staring h@tΓ«fully at Cecilia.

β€œI h@tΓ« her. How dare she flirt with Jayden?” she said in her head with an angry expression until she heard her name.

She turned to see her boss. Jayden walked over to her while she stood on her feet.

β€œIs there anything you want me to do, Sir?” Cherry asked, and Jayden leaned closer to her ear and whispered a few words to her. Her eyes widened.

β€œWhat? You want to…” Cherry couldn’t complete her statement when Jayden quickly shushed her. Gently, she nodded. Jayden smiled and left her as he went to meet Cecilia.

β€œHey,” he said and sat next to her.

β€œHey.”

β€œYou don’t look happy,” Jayden said.

β€œI’m a mom, you know. I have never been in another person’s house at this time of the day. I’m not used to it,” she said. But their conversation was interrupted when a few of the employees came to them.

β€œHey, Cecilia, you’re the birthday girl, yet you haven’t tasted any wine. That’s boring. Since you’ve been working at the company, it’s either coffee or fruit juice. Life isn’t that serious, okay? It doesn’t hurt to have a taste of life because we only have one life to live,” one of the employees said, putting a glass in front of Cecilia and pouring wine into it.

β€œMiss Cassandra, I don’t…”

β€œYou should try it out. It’s so good. It makes you forget about the bad memories and also makes you feel stronger,” Cassandra said, cutting Cecilia off as she handed Cecilia the cup of wine to have a taste.

” Can y’all excuse us? ” Jayden faced the employees and they bowed before walking to another spot. Jayden faced Cecilia with the aim of taking the glass from her, but she stopped him.

β€œI will, it’s my birthday after all. It’s the first time I’ll be celebrating something like this. If I knew it was going to be like this, I would have declined and stayed at home with my daughter,” she smiled sadly and drank the glass of wine.

β€œIt doesn’t taste bad,” she muttered, taking the bottle as she poured herself another glass.

β€œYou’ll get drunk,” Jayden cautioned and made to take the glass from her again, but she slapped his hands off.

MARVIN’S RESIDENCE (NEXT DAY)

The boys had finished their morning voice training and entered the sitting room, looking exhausted.

β€œOur short break will be over today, and next week is the audition for the beginner class to show their talent and get promoted to the silver class,” Alistair said.

β€œWhy would all of us be chosen to rate the students when there are teachers?” Sweetheart asked.

β€œThat’s because we’re the best, and I have a photoshoot to attend tomorrow for Lidel magazine,” Alistair replied.

β€œThat’s true, how could I forget something that’s so important to you?” Rema wondered aloud.

β€œYou always forget,” the other chorus chimed in.

β€œShould we go to Devyn’s place?” Valerie asked, and the boys turned to face him swiftly. Nash raised an eyebrow.

β€œYou’re becoming impatient, but of course, let’s leave this house for a while. I’ll go get ready,” Nash said and turned to Maikel.

β€œYou should get ready too,” he smiled, while Maikel frowned. Nash playfully hit Maikel’s shoulder before walking into his own room.

β€œSomething smells fishy,” Ian muttered, staring at Maikel.

β€œShould we find out?” Sweetheart, who overheard Ian, asked. Ian nodded without realizing it.

β€œMaybe we should,” Rema also chimed in, which made Ian stare at them, wondering how they heard him.

β€œDon’t worry, we’ve got the ears of an alien,” Sweetheart and Rema assured him. Soon enough, the boys all left to freshen up.

β˜…

INFIRMARY

Elvira’s fingers were the first to move, and slowly, her eyes fluttered open. Her vision was still blurry, so she closed her eyes again.

β€œYou’re awake?” she heard, and she gently opened her eyes to see Miss Rachel seated next to her. She looked around to see if she would spot her twin, but only Zora was there.

β€œElvire and Harriet will be coming, I’ve been checking and I’m sure they’ll come today, so don’t worry,” Miss Rachel said, and she turned to Zora.

β€œGo get the doctor,” she said, and Zora nodded and left the ward.

β€œWe’ll have to talk after you…” her phone interrupted her, and she reached for it. She was surprised to see it was Nash calling.

β€œDid something happen?” Miss Rachel wondered as she picked up the call.

πŸ“± Good morning, ma’am. Can I get Devyn Han’s address? Nash asked from the other end.

Miss Rachel chuckled.

πŸ“± I thought something serious had happened. I’ve heard. You should be careful out there, and I won’t let the manager know about it.

πŸ“± You’re the best. I love you, muah” Nash said, and Miss Rachel shook her head before ending the call.

After the audition with the beginner class, the boys would all leave the school, and those in the silver class would also depart. No doubt she’ll miss the boys, and she wished such a day wouldn’t come.

She smiled slightly and turned to Elvira, who was now eating with Zora’s help.

πŸ’Œ ELVIRA IS AWAKE AND FINE NOW. YOU SHOULD COME PICK HER UP. She sent an immediate message to Elvire.

β˜…

JAYDEN’S MANSION

Cecilia’s eyes flew open all at once. The cologne in the room was unfamiliar, it was manly, and she immediately scanned her surroundings. It wasn’t her room.

β€œWhere am I?” she wondered, and her head throbbed so intensely that she had to hold it tightly. She grumbled for a few seconds before releasing her head.

She looked down at herself and noticed that she was still wearing her clothes.

β€œWTF,” she mumbled, remembering that she got drunk last night. The door to the room opened, revealing Jayden.

β€œYou’re awake,” he said, while she nodded slowly, getting out of bed. Jayden placed the food on the stand near the bed.

β€œI’ll drive you home when you’re done,” He said, and before she could respond, he left the room.

She sighed and stared at the food on the stand.

β€œWe can only be best buddies. I’ll gladly accept that because Berry said so,” she muttered, taking her phone to call her daughter.

β˜…

DEVYN’S HOME

Devyn’s mom had already called her and asked her to prepare a few dishes for their meal when she returned. Devyn left her room and immediately encountered Berry, who had just left the kitchen. He was shirtless, wearing only trousers.

Her eyes scanned his perfect body, his enticing packs and then his face. She immediately turned away, but he remained still, staring back at her.

β€œWhy is he Ɲ@kΔ“Ι—?” she wondered in her head.

β€œAre you nervous or perhaps shy because you’re seeing me without a shirt?” he asked, and she faced him.

β€œWhy would I be nervous or shy? It’s not appropriate to be like this around a girl,” Devyn replied sharply and walked away to the dining area to get some water. She was feeling somewhat warm, so she wanted to quench her thirst. Blueberry shook his head.

β€œBeing shirtless isn’t appropriate when there’s a girl around?” he asked, but she didn’t reply.

β€œYet you saw me Ɲ@kΔ“Ι— on the first day we met. You saw everything… My Ďïčk. I think I’m the first guy who lost his dignity in front of a girl. Gosh, I feel so ashamed right now,” He said, and Devyn choked.

β€œWe’ll have plenty of guests today, so when you’re ready, I’ll come help you in the kitchen,” he said, and then he went to his room. Devyn faced the door to his room.

β€œWhy the FΕ―Γ§Ζ™ did he bring that up? Gosh, I can’t believe that night either,” she muttered and headed to the kitchen.

β˜…

SUNSHINE RESIDENT

β€œIt’s been quiet ever since the incident with Elvira,” Honesty said as the four girls sat together, engrossed in their phones.

β€œI’ve made up my mind. I don’t want to be against β€˜BEAUTIES’ anymore because in a week’s time, we’ll all be leaving Camp Music High ” Emerald said, and Gemma faced her.

β€œWhat do you mean?” Gemma asked.

β€œWe’re going to make peace with them. We’re going to be friends with them because I’m sure we won’t need to compete anymore,” Harriet said.

β€œI support that, though,” Belinda replied.

β€œWh@tΓ«ver,” Honesty and Gemma said simultaneously, rolling their eyes.

β˜…

The house was full, as Blueberry had mentioned. Devyn was surprised to see Marvins in her home. How the hell did they get her home address?

Lesley also walked in, followed by Mu Yul. They both stopped and stared at each other.

β€œYou’ve come this far, all thanks to Devyn and my Berry,” Mu Yul said. β€œYou might think I don’t see you, but right from the very beginning, I knew you were just a dead being in a human body.” Mu Yul smiled and walked over to Blueberry. Lesley stood on her spot not able to move a leg

β€œI think I’m getting my memory back gradually. My name isn’t Mu Yul after all,” he said, and Blueberry stared at him.

β€œWe should talk when they’re all gone, or probably tomorrow at school,” He said, and Mu Yul nodded.

β€œAnd you shouldn’t have looked so serious in front of her; it’s going to make her scared,” Blueberry said as he led Mu Yul to a seat.

β€œAre we celebrating something I don’t know about?” Devyn wondered and walked over to where Marvins were.

β€œHey,” she said.

β€œWow, you look extra beautiful today,” Sweetheart commented, but he stopped and ran away when he saw Blueberry. Berry hugged him tightly.

β€œBrother,” Sweetheart said in the hug. Blueberry patted his back gently before disengaging from the hug.

β€œI missed you,” Sweetheart whined, and Blueberry playfully flicked his forehead.

β€œI’ll go get you something to eat,” Blueberry said, and he nodded. He walked over to his brothers and told them about the food. He pulled Ian and Rema with him as they sat at the dining table.

β€œYou look good,” Nash said to Devyn as he pulled Alistair and Maikel away, leaving Valerie and Devyn behind.

β€œHey,” Valerie said, and she smiled.

β€œCan I have a few minutes of your time?” he asked, and Devyn thought for a while before nodding. She led the way to her room and closed the door behind them. She faced him.

Valerie’s eyes scanned the room and landed on a photo of himself and her. It was taken by his mom. He also had a copy of it.

β€œYou said you wanted to talk to me. If it’s about the past, I’ve forgotten about it and I’ve forgiven you,” she said, and he approached her.

β€œI know it’s been 13 years,” he paused, and she looked him in the eye.

β€œFor these past years, if you asked how many times you’ve crossed my mind, I’d say just once,” he said, and she raised a brow.

β€œHuh?”

Valerie held her shoulders as they locked gazes.

β€œYes, Devyn, that’s because since the very first time you crossed my mind, you’ve never really left,” he said with so much passion in his eyes. She blinked twice and shifted from his grip.

β€œI care about you, and I don’t feel good about it, but nothing is going to happen between us,” Devyn said, and Valerie raised a brow.

β€œWhy?” he asked.

β€œBecause we both lost something. You lost me, and I lost time,” Devyn replied, while Valerie swallowed hard. Devyn turned to the door as she made to open it.

β€œEven if it’s a rejection, I’ll always love you, Devyn, cos you were my first and even now” he voiced out, his voice sounding as if there was a lump in his throat. Devyn was taken aback, and she slowly turned to him. She stared at him for a long time, then swallowed hard.

β€œKelvin, it’s been years already, and I’m no longer the 6-year-old kid you first met, okay? So please, love someone else, because you deserve someone who loves you with every single bit of her heart,” she said gently, and right there, tears welled down Valerie’s cheek as he watched her leave the room slowly.
