FACT: SUCCUBUS CAN FEED OFF HUMAN ENERGY WITHOUT KILLING THEM OR SUCKING OUT THEIR SOULS.

βFΓΌΓ§k me,β She requested, and Camden’s eyes went wide in utmost surprise, peering so hard into her own as she continued to stare at him, waiting for a response.
βCome on, say something.β Lilith urged, momentarily staring at his curved lips.
Camden blinked, his cheeks flushed, and took a step back from her. His legs were shaking uncontrollably.
Did she really just say what he think he heard? Or was he now hearing things?
How can his sister ask him to FΓΌΓ§k her? No, it can’t be. His ears are definitely playing games with him.
βAre you alright?β He asked after a moment of silence and confusion.
βAm I alright?β She repeated, releasing an exasperated breath. βWhat is wrong with you people? Are you all going to keep asking that same question? Do I not look alright to you?β She flared up.
βNo, you don’t.β He answered. βBecause if you are alright, you wouldn’t say something as dreadful as that to me.β
βI…β Her voice trailed off and she lowered her gaze, biting her lower lip.
Maybe he is right. She should never have said such a ridiculous and crazy statement.
He is her supposed brother for FΓΌΓ§k sake. However, she can’t help it. She is in desperate need of a hard FΓΌΓ§k. And she urgently needs energy as well.
Who would blame her for asking the first boy she is seeing early this morning to have s*x with her?
βForget I said anything.β She mumbled, looking away from him.
Camden studied her for a while before saying under his breath, βI am worried about you, Esme.β
βYou don’t have to be.β She scoffed.
βWell, I have to be worried about you. You are my baby sister and your health matters so much to me.β He sighed. βWhy did you ask me to… to…β He inhaled and exhaled sharply, encouraging himself to say the word. βTo… Fu…fuc…β
βFΓΌΓ§k me,β She helped him finish the sentence, watching him.
βYes, that. How can you ask that of me? Do you know how great of a sin that is?β
Demons don’t care about sin. Why? Because their existence is already a sin. A sin that cannot be washed away. But Lilith can’t tell him that, can she? Humans will never understand anything that has to do with the supernatural.
βI didn’t mean it that way,β She lied. βAt a moment, I thought you were somebody else.β
βWho?β
βSomebody…β She replied.
βYour boyfriend? Because last I remember, you don’t have any friends talk more of a boyfriend. What am I missing, dear sister?β He sat down on the stool beside her bed.
βI don’t have friends?β She reiterated, perplexed. βHow so?β
βWhat do you mean? Did you damage your memory? Or what?β He chuckled softly. βEsme, you h@tΓ« staying in people’s company. You had preferred hanging out with your dog than anyone else.β
βDo… Dog? I have a dog? But I h@tΓ« dogs!β She exclaimed before she could even stop herself.
Camden’s face dropped and he gave her a pointed look.
βHuh?β
βI will have to get rid of that dog. How can she prefer the company of a dog over people? And why not a cat? Why a dog?β Lilith thought to herself.
βEsmeralda?β Camden called out, grabbing her attention once again. βCan I be honest?β
βMm.β She hummed in reply.
βYou have been acting strange lately. From the things you say to how you are behaving. I’ve known you all your life and trust me, how you are behaving now is completely different. Did the fall somewhat mess up with your brains?β
βI guess.β She said in a whisper. βEver since the fall, I have also not been myself. Nothing seems to make sense anymore. I am confused, angry, and… scared. I want to go home but it seems like I will be trapped here… forever.β She released a deep breath. βI h@tΓ« that I am clueless and don’t know what to do. I h@tΓ« that I can’t be myself no matter how hard I try.β
She looked into his eyes,
βTrust me, you are not the only one worried. I am also worried about myself. The things happening to me have never happened in the history of our world. There are certain things I want to say but can’t.β She paused, examining the room silently. βThis is not my life. However, I will have no choice but to live it.β
Camden understood none of what she had just said. Nevertheless, he said nothing to make her feel like she was going insane.
βYou will be alright, Esme. You have always been a strong girl, you know that, right?β
βReally?β She sincerely looked surprised. βThis body is so fragile to be called strong.β
βYou are recuperating, remember?β He smiled. βI’m glad that you opened up to me and even though I didn’t understand half of the things you said, I’m still delighted to have the hearty conversation with you.β
Lilith gave him a bored look, not saying anything.
βI think I should go and get you something to eat now.β He rises to his feet. βWait here, I will be right back.β He left the ward afterward, leaving her alone to wander off with her thoughts.
βI can’t transform into my demon form which means I can’t leave this world. How long do I have to stay here for then? Why am I occupying a human body?β She thought to herself, staring into space. βThe last thing I remember was conversing with Delphine, Lou, and Calliope. And then I was pushed by an invisible force which led me to fall off the school building. How then did I get here?β
Lilith sat upright on the hospital bed and cupped her forehead.
βAm I somehow related to this human girl called Esmeralda or wh@tΓ«ver?β She shook her head at her own thought. βNah, that makes total no sense. Demons and humans are completely opposite from each other. There is no way I am connected to her whatsoever. Unless she isn’t human, to begin with.β
She got out of bed and went into the adjoined bathroom.
She exhaled deeply while leaning her back against the surface of the door but she felt something on her back and a deep frown appeared on her face.
Lilith removed the hospital gown she was wearing and stepped close to the mirror they’d replaced after she had ruined the other one.
She turned around to see what it was she was feeling on her back and her eyes bulged open at the burn mark she saw there.
βWhat… is this?β Lilith breathed out, eyeing the mark closely.
It was the exact burn she had on her original body. The same shape, the same size, the same appearance. It doesn’t make any sense at all.
βIs my soul rather inflicted with the burn? Is that why it is on this body as well? Or what if this body already had the burn before I came in?β She tilted her head to the side, trying to make sense of everything.
She heard the sound of the door opening and closing.
βWell, there is only one way to find out how long this body has had this burn. Was it before I entered the body? or after I entered the body?β
She rushed out of the bathroom without having the decency to put back on the hospital gown.
Joan and one of the housemaids were in the room, bringing out fruits and flasks containing food from a bag.
βHey,β Lilith grabbed their attention.
βOh, my world. Esmeralda,β Joan gasped. βWhy are you naked? Where are your clothes?β
βThat isn’t important right now.β She waved the woman’s question off, turning around to show her back to her. βHow long have I had this burn?β
Joan pinched her brows together, studying the wound. Esmeralda has never shown her something like this before. How did she even get it?
βWhat is this burn, Esme? This definitely looks like a hair-curler burn. How did you get it?β She questioned.
Before Lilith could answer, the door opened, revealing Carmen and Camden.
βEsme, I brought you_β He quickly turned around when he saw that she was stark naked. βWhat the hell, Esme? Where are your clothes?β
βThat is not important.β Joan brushed it off. βWhat is this on your sister’s back?β
Camden knew just what she was talking about.
βI have never seen it before,β Carmen stated, moving her gaze to her twin brother. βHave you, Cam?β
Camden gradually faces his little sister and stares at the burn injury.
βI think Esme is in the best position to tell you how she got the injury, mother.β He responded.
Everybody’s eyes fell upon a confused Esmeralda/Lilith.
Lilith looked between all of them as they were all staring back at her, waiting for her explanation.
βCamden,β She rested her gaze upon him. βJust answer this very question… Have I had this burn before now?β
βWhat are you saying, Esme? Have you forgotten when you showed it to me a week ago?β
βWhen exactly?β She asked.
βWednesday.β
Wednesday in the human world was Monday in the underworld. And if her calculations are not wrong, the same burn appeared on her back on Monday in the woods after she had taken the soul of that stupid teacher.
βWhat does this mean? Am I somewhat connected to this human girl called Esmeralda? Why do I have the same burn as she? What is the connection between both of us?β She pondered.
βEsme, how did you_β Joan began but she was rudely interrupted by the girl.
βNot now, okay? I have a lot of things FΓΌΓ§king going on in my head right now.β She yelled and stormed back into the bathroom, leaving them in astonishment at her rude remark.
Lilith stared at the face of the human girl whose body she was somehow occupying.
She fell off the building and it seems like this Esmeralda of a girl also fell off a building. It is as if they both share the same fate which makes total no sense!
βWhat am I missing? Where is the connection between me and this girl? Could she be the reason why Mother and Father banned me from coming to the human world? Is this the only way I can get the answers I have been looking for? Is she related to the secrets they’ve all been concealing from me in the underworld?β Lilith’s thoughts were running in a circle like a toll train and her head hurt from it.
She hissed, leaning against the cold wall, lowering her gaze to the tiles floor.
βI am stuck in this world for a reason. I don’t know what it is but I must find answers. Why am I occupying this human body? Why am I trapped in this world? Why can’t I transform into my demon form? Who is this Esmeralda of a girl? How are we connected? Why do we share the same burn mark?β She groaned for the umpteenth time, cupping her forehead.
Her vision became blurry and the throbbing in her head increased.
βFΓΌΓ§k.β She gasped out, massaging her temple. βI need energy. Where the hell can I find one?β
Apparently, she can’t take the energy of this girl’s family which leaves her to think of other alternatives.
Suddenly, a thought crossed her mind and her face dropped instantly.
βIf I am in this girl’s body. Who is in mine?β
β’β’β’β’β’β’β’β’β’β’β’β’β’β’β’β’β’β’β’β’β’β’
βHas she opened the door?β Dahlia asked, joining the three girls.
βNot yet,β Lou answered.
Dahlia stepped forward and started banging on the door herself.
βLilith, open the door. You can’t stay locked up in there forever. Why are you even doing this?β She grunted.
There was no answer.
βYou know what? I have respected you enough. I am going to break down this door this instant.β She was going to use her super-strength to push the door open when Esmeralda unlocked it from inside and pulled it open. βWhat is your_β Dahlia’s words were cut short when she took in the appearance of her daughter.
βLilith, are you okay!?β Lou let out, rushing into the room.
Esmeralda stumbled back, shaking her head in disapproval while giving them a sad look.
βI…am…not Lilith.β She stuttered.
βWhy are you saying something like this, Lilith? Are you suffering from memory loss or what?β Lou whimpered.
βMemory loss is for humans, Lou.β Calliope rolled her eyes.
Dahlia said nothing, staring at her daughter for what seemed like forever before saying,
βGirls, you all can leave. I will take it from here.β She told them.
βBut_β Delphine was going to object.
βGO!!!β She roared, cutting her off.
βYes, my queen.β They bowed their heads and scurried away.
Dahlia slammed the door closed behind her and gripped Esmeralda’s hand, dragging her to the bed.
βWhy did you lock yourself up for days, dear?β She asked as they both sat down on the bed.
βI don’t belong here. This is not my world. The last thing I remember is being pushed to my death by…by..β She can’t say Beverly’s name either.
βBy what? An invisible force? Because that was the explanation from your friends.β Dahlia said.
Esmeralda swallowed nothing, staying mute.
βI don’t know what is going on with you, Lilith. But if I’m being honest…you are scaring me, child. I love you so much and seeing you act this way is annoying and frustrating me. You belong here. This is your world. You are the princess of this underworld. This is your fate. I don’t know what you’ve heard concerning yourself but listen carefully to me, don’t heed anybody’s lies. The truth you seek will only bring you to your doom. I don’t want that for you and that’s why I will do everything in my power to keep hiding the truth from you. I know you can be stubborn and whenever you make up your mind to do something, you do it without giving a FΓΌΓ§k about anybody. But please,β She reached out to hold her hands. βYou know I hardly say the word βpleaseβ but for your sake, I will say the word over and over again. Please stop looking for this answer.β She begged.
Esmeralda looked deep into the woman’s eyes and saw the sincerity of her words.
βYou care about me,β She mumbled.
βOf course, I do. You are my child and you mean the whole world to me.β Dahlia proclaimed.
βWhere am I? I mean, which world is this?β
βThe underworld.β The woman answered immediately even though the question sounded dumb. βIt is ruled by your father, the greatest vampire. I am your mother, a succubus. And you are my daughter. You took after me, dear. You are a succubus.β She smiled.
Esmeralda blinked severally, digesting all that the woman had just said.
Vampire, succubus, underworld…aren’t they all fairytales? Those creatures don’t exist as far as she is concerned but it appears to be that they do exist and she has been wrong all along.
βSo I am a succubus,β She repeated.
Dahlia frantically nodded her head.
βYes, my love. You don’t remember?β
Esmeralda thought of saying βnoβ but it could be a wrong choice to make. Something doesn’t feel right here.
Supposedly, she is in the body of this Lilith of a girl. And regardless of how crazy it might sound, she is trapped in this body and this world. For now. Until she figures out what exactly is going on, she will impersonate the girl whose body she is occupying.
βI…think I do. But my memory is not clear enough for me. I’m sorry if I’m stressing you.β She pretended.
βNo, it’s fine.β
βI just have to pretend to be this girl called Lilith and then I will find my way out of this hell. I can’t be here. Vampires…succubus…that’s bullSh|t. Creatures like that don’t exist.β Esmeralda said in her head.
βI hope you will be back to normal by the end of the day.β
βOf course. But by normal, you mean…?β
Dahlia smirked, cupping one side of her daughter’s face.
βBeing bad.β
βBad?β Esmeralda repeated in shock. βShe’s a bad person?β She asked, pointing at her own face.
Dahlia frowned.
βShe?β
βOh, I mean, me. So I’m a bad person.β She corrected.
βWell, I won’t say you are a bad person but you’ve always enjoyed being evil.β
βHow did I enter the body of a villain? This is crazy.β Esmeralda thought, shaking her head in disbelief.
β’β’β’β’β’β’β’β’β’β’β’β’β’β’β’β’β’β’β’β’β’β’β’
King descended the stairs, one hand tucked into his pocket and the other, ruffling his hair.
βSir King,β A young maid greeted, bowing before him.
He pushed her aside like a piece of trash, ignoring her greeting, and went into the dining room, where he found both of his parents, eating.
βWhen did both of you start eating human food?β He asked, scrunching up his face in disgust.
βHuman food is delicious, son. Come on, join us.β Hannah invited, shoving a piece of meat inside her mouth.
βI’d rather starve than eat that sh!t.β He retorted, pouring himself a glass of blood and gulping down the content at a go.
βDo you think now is the perfect time to tell him?β Mr.Hill asked his wife and she nodded her head.
βTell me what?β Kingsley questioned.
βYour mother and I had a conversation…about you. We’ve agreed on how we can help you live in peace with humans.β
βHold on,β He interrupted. βBefore you continue, I have a question to ask.β
Hannah and her husband exchanged puzzled looks.
βOkay?β They gave him a go-ahead look.
βDo you believe that succubus exist?β He asked.
βUh…maybe. Humans don’t believe that Vampires, werewolves, mermaids, and witches exist. But look at us.β Hannah replied.
βWhy do you ask that?β Mr.Hill queried.
βNo, nothing. What were you people saying again?β He said, changing the subject.
βYou_β
βWait,β King cut his father off again. βWhy does it feel like I’m not going to like what you both are about to say?β
βBecause you won’t.β Mr.Hill stated. βAnyway, before you cut me off once again,β He sighed. βYou will be attending Snowy High School, starting next week.β
βWhat did you just say?β
βKing, I think this is the best decision we’ve ever made concerning you.β Hannah said. βYou will be able to make friends with humans and see that they are not so bad after all.β
βNever.β He growled, vigorously shaking his head. βI will never attend a human school. Never.β He stormed out of the dining room, dismissing his parents’ call.
β’β’β’β’β’β’β’β’β’β’β’β’β’β’β’β’β’β’β’β’β’β’
βEasy, love.β Joan said, guiding Lilith’s step into the mansion.
βWelcome back home, princess.β Alfie congratulated, smiling.
Lilith stood in the center of the house and observed the place, raising a single brow.
βHmm. Not bad.β She muttered, slightly shrugging her shoulders.
βI’m glad you have finally been discharged and back home.β Camden grinned.
Lilith was able to satisfy her hunger by stealing the energy of a nurse but didn’t kill her, though.
She wasn’t as tired or weak as she was when she first woke up to the new world.
Joan and Alfie were yet to be told what had been happening in school to Esmeralda. However, Camden promised to tell them everything.
βYou must have really missed home,β Joan noted, referring to how Lilith has been looking around the house.
βWoof!β A dog barking grabbed everyone’s attention.
Lilith peeked around in search of where the noise was coming from but she was caught by surprise when a white fluffy animal jumped on her body and started licking her face.
βArrrrgh!β She released a scream, pulled the dog away from her body, and threw it across the living room.
βEsmeralda, why did you do that?β Camden asked, giving her a pointed look.
She cowered away, glaring hard at the animal.
Everyone was confused. When did Esmeralda start hating dogs? And besides, this dog in particular has been her companion for years.
The dog’s tail hung low and he suddenly started barking aggressively at Lilith.
βGet this thing out of my sight!β She yelled.
TBC…β
