Francis sat beside Rose and they both chatted for long, then Francis told Rose that he is traveling tomorrow and that he is going to miss her, he brought out a diamond necklace very simple but beautiful, it seems costly too
Rose was very happy as the sun ray shun on the circled diamond around the pendants and it glitters, shining and radiating like the stars.
Francis Smiled seeing the look of contentment in Roses eyes.. I hope you will love it, is very simple and not too expensive I just saw it and I felt it will suit you, please this is all I have for now just manage me the way you sees me today but I promise you that our tomorrow will be greater than today.
Oh please stop it already Francis, this is very beautiful and exceptional I love it,where did you buy this from because I know it doesn’t come from this village
You are funny, what do you mean it doesn’t come from this village, where then does it come from? (chuckles) well the most important thing is that you like it despite how simple it is….. I am happy
(scratches his head) do you mind if I wear it around your neck?
Rose giggles…. Ok go on she replied shyly.
Francis gently and romantically wore the necklace on Rose.
They felt a connection as they were both electrified at what transpired between them, they kissed each other but for a brief moment because Rose quickly got her self and break from the kiss.
Francis apologized immediately but Rose waved it out and told him it never happened.
Rose was shy for a brief moment because that was the first time she had ever experienced that, she felt like it should continue but her respect, prestige and dignity matters most to her.
She felt like touching her lips but can’t because she don’t know how Francis will look at her, then she just maintained but kept her gaze from Francis.
Francis observed what Rose is battling with and then device a plan to distract her from her thought.
He stood up from his sitting position and chased after a flying butterfly, then he purposely fell down and Rose burst out with laughter and started teasing him about the way he fell down and then got to where he fell and stretched her hand to help him up.
Francis was happy because he was able to bring her out from her shyness…He brought his hand and joined with Rose as he stood up and Rose resumed with her laughter again..
Francis frowned jokingly….. I was trying to catch the butterfly for you, is so beautiful and fragile just like you.
Rose stopped laughing and thanked him for his thoughts towards her.
They chatted more and Rose wished him well as he travels and Francis promised to keep in touch with her and promise to come back for her as soon as possible and by then she will become his wife.
Rose only smiled and told him if it is the will of God that his plans will come through but if not, then reverse is the case.
Then Francis concurred with her…. Shortly they exchanged goodbyes and Francis left with a heart full of joy and determination to come back for Rose no matter what
The next day, Francis and her mother travelled to Lagos and he still maintained communication with Rose then two days later he traveled back to the states after a month of steady communication with Rose still with Nigerian number then unfortunately Francis lost his phone and that was how they lost contacts
Some months later, Rose and Gift got admission into the same University…. Michael opara University of Agriculture Umudike to study their respective courses and they were both happy
Rose still thinks about Francis but not as much as Francis thinks about Rose, he kept praying that Rose won’t forget him.
