Gifts marriage is not working out with Richard as they both remained cat and dog, they have been married for almost a year plus now and Gift has not been able to give birth because of constant miscarriages from Richards beating and the last miscãrriage almost took her life due to excessive bleeding both externally and internally
Gift almost lost her life but thank God for Rose who stood by her like a mother and took the greater responsibility of taking good care of her by making sure she recovers fully
Rose’s final exam is fast approaching and her graduation follows suit, Francis who has travelled back to the states also is preparing to come down for it because immediately after her graduation, her traditional and white wedding follows immediately
Rose knows that she can’t continue to be taking care of Gift, because of her tight schedules so she travelled home to inform Gift’s mother about what is happening and also beg her to come and take care of Gift her daughter
surprisingly, when she got to Gift’s house, she met Richard there already telling Gifts mother to come and carry her daughter before he kìlls her with her bare hands
Immediately Rose stepped in, Gifts mother gave her a very dirty slap, both Richard and Rose was surprised at her actions until she started speaking
Gifts mother : Rose! why did you have to do this to yourself because of that Gift, why did you have to suffer to this extent for her and yet you still stands up for her in her times of difficulty.
I never knew all these things all the while because if I had known, I would not have attended her wedding. Right from childhood, I have always warned her against the decisions and the road she choses but she told me I am old school and don’t know anything
I have always told her as a mother what life is all about but she chose not to listen. My son(tapping Richard)
*She drags Rose forward* You see this girl Rose, has really suffered for that Gift of a girl, right from childhood up until now, what she has done for my daughter Gift, (hitting her chest as she sobs) even I her mother can’t bear my childs wickedness and still love and cares for her like Rose does
But the reason I slapped her is for her to know that I h@të her for keeping all those secrets from I and her (Rose) mother and suffering all alone and also not to make such mistakes in her life again, what of if Gift ended up kíllïng her?
Richard, if you want to send her home go ahead and do that because she is reaping her evīl deeds, that’s how she made her bed and she must lie on it that way.
Rose was in tears now…. She knelt down and began to beg Gift’s mother to have mercy on her daughter and follow her to Umuahia to take care of her Gift’s health. She also told her that she doesn’t want to bother her about Gift’s attitudes because she is more of a sister to her than a friend to her
She also started begging Richard to forgive Rose and accept her back as his wife, and not to lay a hand on her again, that Gift has already regretted her actions and ready to turn a new leaf
After a long pleading from Rose to both Richard and Gift’s mother, she finally agreed to go and take care of her daughter, the woman also plead with Richard not to divorce her daughter and to please give her a second chance
Richard agreed because of the love he had for Rose and promised to be a better man and husband if only Gift will become a better woman and wife.
They all promised to talk sense into her.
Gift mother prepared and traveled to umuahia with Richard while Rose stayed back to be with her mother and also supervise the new house that Francis is building for her and her family, but also promised to call Gift and give her some advice concerning her marriage
Everything patterning to Rose’s wedding was talking care of in USA, her wedding card was printed there, and sent over to her, it was very unique and the best she has ever seen, her wedding gown was superb and very beautiful, even the gifts and other items was sent down.
On her graduation, Francis came back from US with lots of friends both whites and blacks, her graduation was the center of attraction
Two days later, her traditional marriage took place, it was the best and most awesome with grand unique decorations as people from all over their villages attended and other neighbouring villagers both invited and uninvited
The next day was her white wedding, it was a great one and remains a history, dollars was sprayed, foods and drinks every where, nothing (gift) was received from those that attended but a lot was given to them that attended in appreciation.
Through out the celebration, Gift was in tears wishing she never chased Francis away with her bad attitude and greediness
After the wedding, Rose parents and siblings travelled to Lagos and will permanently based there because Francis bought a house for them there and opened a business for them
Rose travelled to USA with Francis not just for honeymoon alone but she will be residing there with her husband for life
Francis was the happiest man on earth to marry Rose who was still a Virgin and promise her that he will make her to be the happiest woman on earth
They lived happily ever after with four children….. Two boys and two girls
Gift is still working so hard to win the heart and love of Richard, is not really easy but she is determined to be a better person.
