“I can’t wait to see the shock on Rudy’s face once he sees us at his school tomorrow”Angela said.
“Yeah, Dayton highschool,here we come”
Ellie drove off.

“Senior Rudy really went through a lot from the hands of Ellie”Mina said as they walked out of the restaurant.
“Yes and it’s all my fault”Alex sighs.
“You shouldn’t blame yourself,Alex,”Mina said, patting Alex’s shoulder and she smiled.
“It seems like all the girls from our school are gone,”Mina said, looking around.
“Yeah,my brother also,”Alex said and Mina smiled.
“I should go home too,Alex,”Mina said.
“Okay,do you want me to walk you home?”Alex asked.
“Really that would be nice,but shouldn’t you go home too?”Mina asked, looking worried.
“There’s is no need to worry about that,”Alex said.
“It’s a long walk and it’s getting dark so I’m happy to walk you home”Alex smiled.
“Okay”Mina said and they started walking together.
As they walked,they chatted about their day and their plans for tomorrow.
The more they talked, the more comfortable Mina felt.
Alex was easy to talk to, and she found herself laughing and smiling more than she had in a long time because of her brother.
Before they knew it, they were at Mina’s house.
“Well, here we are,”Alex said, stopping at the sidewalk.
“It was nice to walk with you,”Mina said, feeling a little sad that their time together was coming to an end.
“Yeah, it was really nice,”
“I’m glad we got to hang out”Alex said and they stood there awkwardly for a moment, unsure of what to say next.Finally, Mina said.
“Well, I guess I’ll see you tomorrow?”Mina said.
“Yeah, definitely,”Alex said.
“And hey, don’t worry about the girls at school because of my brother,you’re great just the way you are”Alex added and Mina smiled, feeling a rush of gratitude for Alex’s kind words.
“Thanks, Alex,”She said.
“That means a lot to me,”Mina said.
“Anytime,”Alex said.
“Well, I guess I should get going,I’ll see you tomorrow”Alex waved goodbye and started walking back the way they came.
Mina waved back,watching her until she was out of sight.
Then she turned and went inside, with a smile on her face.

11PM>OUTSIDE FLORA’S CAFE**
“I thought you said you won’t be coming today”Max asked, walking toward Rudy with two bottles of water.
“Yes,”Rudy replied.
“Here,you can have this”Max handed Rudy one of the bottles of water.
“Thanks,” Rudy said, taking the water and taking a long sip.
“I just needed to stay out for a while,”Rudy explained.
“You know, to clear my head”
“I get it,” Max said.
“A change of scenery can do wonders for the mind”Max smiled and they stood there in comfortable silence for a few moments, just enjoying the night air. Finally, Max spoke again.
“What’s on your mind, Rudy?”He asked.
Rudy hesitated for a moment, trying to decide how much to share.
Finally,he decided not to share anything.
After all, they were just coworkers.
“It’s nothing,”He said.
Max didn’t seem convinced, but he didn’t push the issue.
“Well, I hope …”
“What happened to your glasses Max,you ain’t wearing them,”Rudy asked and Max laughed.
“I forgot it at home,” Max lied, hoping Rudy wouldn’t notice.
He felt bad about lying, but he didn’t want to tell Rudy the truth.
It was too embarrassing to admit that Kiran broke his glasses.
“Okay”Rudy said walking away.
As Rudy walked away, Max felt a wave of guilt wash over him.
He h@tëd lying to his friend, but he suddenly remembered that Rudy doesn’t consider him as his friend,he is just a coworker to him.
Max felt a pang of sadness.
He had hoped that he and Rudy could be friends, but it seemed that Rudy didn’t feel the same way.
Max had always been a bit of an outsider,both at school and home and it seemed that nothing had changed about that.
He doesn’t have friends just like Rudy.
He had always been the quiet, introverted type.
He wondered if he would ever be able to break out of his lonely shell and become friends with Rudy.
“I hope we will become friends one day, Rudy,”Max smiled.

*GRAY’S PLACE*
“Alex”Rudy called as soon as he got into the house and saw her counting money on the sofa.
Alex looked up from the money and smiled when he saw Rudy.
“Hey, bro!”She said.
“How was your day?”Alex asked.
“It was… awful just like the way you wanted”Rudy said, knowing everything that had happened today was Alex’s plan.
“Why don’t you tell me about it while I finish counting this money?”Alex suggested.
“There is no need for me to do that,”Rudy said as he walked toward her.
“You saw everything that happened today,”Rudy added and Alex smiled.
“And this”Rudy points at the money.
“I think they are mine, because I was the one who went on the date,”Rudy said and collected the money from Alex.
“What?”
“Arggghh”Alex screamed.
“That’s not fair,I was the one who planned the date,”Alex said.
“And I was the one who went on the date!”Rudy chuckled.
“That’s how it works, Alex,the person who goes on the date gets the money”
Alex crossed his arms and scowled.
“I think that’s a dumb rule,”She said.
“It should be split evenly, since we both put in effort,”Alex said.
“But I was the one who had to sit through the date even though I didn’t like it,”Rudy countered.
“Don’t you think that should count for something?”
Alex sighed, knowing that she was fighting a losing battle.
“Fine”She closed her eyes sadly and stood up.
“But what you are doing is unfair, brother”Alex opens her eyes and Rudy sighs.
“How about we share it then”Rudy said and Alex face lit it.
“I will be the one to share it since I plan the date”Alex said and Rudy gave her the money.
A smirk slowly forms on her lips as she collects the money.
“Bye”Alex said and ran toward her room.
Rudy watched her go, shaking his head.
“I can’t believe I fell for that,”Rudy muttered to himself.
“She’s such a little schemer.”
But as he walked toward his room he couldn’t help but feel a little proud of her for outsmarting him.
He got to his bed and laid down.
After all, she was his little sister, and he wanted her to be clever and resourceful.
Even if it meant he had to give up his hard-earned money sometimes.
He sighed and decided to let it go.
After all, what was a little money between siblings?
After a while, Rudy heard a knock on his bedroom door.
The door opened slowly and Alex walked in with a sheepish smile on her face.
Rudy stood up.
“I’m sorry,”She said.
“I shouldn’t have tricked you like that,it was wrong”
Rudy’s heart softened.
“It’s okay,”He said.
“I just wanted to help you out,”She said.
“I know how much you’ve been struggling with your love life,”Alex said.
“I appreciate it,”Rudy frowned.
“But next time, let’s just be honest with each other, okay? I don’t want to be tricked again”
“I promise,”Alex said, giving him a sincere look.
“From now on, no more trickery, I promise”Alex said and Rudy held out his hand.
“Pinky swear?”He asked.
Alex giggled and linked her pinky with his.
“Pinky swear,”She said and Rudy smiled at her.
And at that moment,Alex felt like Rudy was going back to his old self.
“Did you just smile?”Alex asked.
“Maybe”Rudy said and went back to lay on his bed.
Alex stood there for a minute as she recalled the moment Rudy smiled at her.
Her cheeks slowly turned red and she bit her lower lips.
“He is so handsome when he smiles,”Alex said, touching her red cheeks.
“You don’t have to say that out loud,”Rudy said.
“Huh! What?”
“I didn’t say anything”Alex said and Rudy chuckled.
“And also stop blushing,Alex,”Rudy added.
“What?”
“I .. I-I-I wasn’t blushing”Alex said.
“Really”Rudy stood up from his bed and slowly walked toward Alex with a strange look on his face.
Alex noticed this and started shifting backwards as Rudy moved closer to her.
Her back finally hit the wall,she looked up at him nervously.
“Brother,what are you doing?”She asked,her voice trembling slightly.
Rudy just smirked,with a mischievous glint in his eyes and Alex swallowed hard,feeling a little afraid.
“I just wanna have a taste of this,”Rudy replied, staring at her lips.
“Huh”Alex’s eyes widened.
“Alex”Rudy called, touching Alex’s face.
He lifted his hand and stroked her cheek, his touch light and gentle.
“Rudy,” Alex whispered, her voice quivering.
“What are you doing?”She wasn’t sure how to feel about this situation.
A part of her was scared, but another part of her was curious, even excited.
She had never been this close to anyone before, and she wasn’t sure what to do.
“I just want to know what your lips taste like,”Rudy said, his voice soft and soothing as he leaned his face toward hers.
Alex’s heart was pounding in her chest as her face turned pale red, her breath quickening.
She could feel his breath on her face, could feel the warmth of his skin.
She closed her eyes, her mind racing.
Should she pull away? Should she let him do this? She wasn’t sure what to do. In the end, her curiosity won out.
She didn’t move, allowing Rudy to close the distance between them.
And then,Rudy walked back toward his bed and sat down watching her.
Alex was expecting Rudy lips to have touched hers by now but she didn’t feel anything on her lips.
She slowly opened her eyes and saw Rudy sitting on his bed.
“So you were expecting a kiss from me,Alex”Rudy asked and she frowned.
“Your face is red”Rudy said and Alex covered her face.
“Jerk”She muttered angrily and left the room feeling embarrassed.
“Thank you Alex,”Rudy smiled.
“For making me smile today”Rudy laid down and slept off.
