“Everything all started because he was born, the jealousy, the plans, the h@të and Georgina’s death”

“I’m going to k!ll Cody and end everything”

George’s eyes were dark, his voice low and determined.

Kathleen could sense the intensity of his hatred, the sheer depth of his anger and pain.

Yet, she couldn’t help but feel a twinge of fear for Cody.

“George, please,” Kathleen pleaded.

“This isn’t the way to deal with things, Cody is innocent in all of this”

“He’s your son”

But George was relentless.

“No, Kathleen, he may be my son, but he’s also the reason for everything that’s happened”

As Kathleen tried to reason with George, she could see the rage building within him.

“You don’t understand, Kathleen”

“Georgina’s death destroyed me and it was all Cody’s fault”

“If he hadn’t been born back then and Leah didn’t threaten Georgina none of this is going to happen”

“I won’t have to kill him”

Kathleen, her heart racing, knew she had to do something.

She reached out and placed her hand gently on his chest.

“George, listen to me”

“Please, think about this, Cody is your flesh and blood”

“You can’t just throw that away”

The tension in the room was palpable.

George was consumed by his rage and grief, his mind clouded with thoughts of revenge.

Kathleen, on the other hand, was struggling to find the right words to ease his pain and make him see reason.

A thought suddenly crossed Kathleen’s mind.

“If he could Cody, his own flesh and blood what will happen to the rest of the children”

Kathleen’s concern was understandable.

If George was willing to k!ll his own son, what would he do to the other children?

The thought sent a chill down her spine.

“George, what will happen to the other children,” She asked, her voice urgent.

“Are you going to k!ll them too? ” Kathleen asked.

George was silent for a moment.

“No” He replied and Kathleen smiled happily.

You could almost feel how relieved she was that George wasn’t going to harm the other children.

“Thank goodness, for a minute there I thought you were gonna say yes” Kathleen said.

“I’m not interested in those kids, they’re not the ones who caused Georgina’s death” George said.

ALEX’S PLACE.

“I know he was the one all along,” Alex muttered, smiling.

“Senior Celine, can I ask for a favor from you please” Alex said.

“Yeah, sure”

“What is it Alex?” Celine asked.

“Have you told anyone else apart from me that my brother is still alive?” Alex asked.

“No, not yet” Celine said and Alex let out a short sigh of relief.

“That’s good,” Alex smiled.

“Is there any problem?” Celine asked.

“Not really but I don’t want anyone else apart from the two of us to know that my brother is still alive” Alex said.

“Huh! Why?”

“I really don’t know yet but I have this feeling”

“This feeling,” Alex said, touching her chest.

“This feeling that my brother doesn’t want anyone to know he is alive”

“Ohh!”

“So please Senior Celine can you promise me you won’t tell anyone that my brother is alive”

“Sure, I promise,” Celine said and Alex smiled.

As the conversation between Alex and Celine goes down.

Celine brought out her phone and checked the time.

“Wow, time sure flies by,” Celine said with a chuckle, breaking the tension that had built up in the room.

Alex,on the other hand, remained silent, lost in thoughts.

As Celine rises from her seat, Alex’s mind seems to be in thoughts of her brother.

“Hey, Alex,” Celine’s voice broke through the fog of her thoughts.

“Are you okay?” Celine asked, concern evident in her tone.

Alex looked up, meeting Celine’s gaze.

“Yes, I’m fine,” She said, her voice low and steady.

“Do you want to see your brother?” Celine asked, staring at Alex.

“Huh?” Alex kept quiet for a while in thoughts.

There must be a reason why he hasn’t come and seen me yet.

“No I don’t want to see him yet” She stood up.

“But you can tell him I said hi…” Alex’s words hung in the air, heavy with the weight of her conflicted emotions.

Celine could sense the struggle in her Alex’s voice, the battle between her desire to see her brother again and her fear of what that reunion might bring.

“Okay, I will tell him you said hi” Celine said letting a small sigh escape her lips and Alex nodded.

“Good bye then, take good care of yourself Alex” Celine said.

“You too, Senior Celine” Alex smiled watching Celine left.

As the door closed behind Celine, Alex sank back into her chair, exhaustion washing over her.

Her thoughts continued to swirl, a never-ending loop of questions and uncertainties.

How long could she keep this secret?

She has always wanted to see and be with her brother again…

The longing in Alex’s heart was palpable.

Despite her reservations about the reunion, a part of her still yearned for that connection, for the comfort and familiarity that only family could provide.

As Alex sat in the silence of her home, the stillness was broken only by the ticking of the clock.

Each second that passed felt like an eternity, each tick a reminder of the time they had lost.

Despite her exhaustion, Alex’s mind refused to rest.

The silence of the room grew deafening as Alex’s thoughts churned.

Her mind wandered back to the days when she and her brother were inseparable, when their laughter and love filled the house.

Those memories felt so distant now, like faded photographs in an old album.

She remembered the last time she had seen him.

The thought of seeing him again brought a mix of emotions longing, fear, confusion.

“I wonder how he is doing, my brother Rudy,” Alex thought.

“No, he doesn’t go by the name Rudy anymore” Alex shook her head and smiled.

“Cody, that name suits him especially with his cold attitude” She said smiling.

****

Somewhere around the city Cody was driving back to the dorms.

“I can swear that I saw Linda at the restaurant” Cody thought.

“Or was I imagining things” Cody said driving when his phone suddenly beeps.

The beep of Cody’s phone pulled him from his thoughts, the sound piercing through the dull hum of the car engine.

He glanced at the screen, a message from an unfamiliar number flashing across it.

Curiosity pulled at Cody like a magnet, urging him to unlock the phone and read the message.

His thumb hovered over the device for a moment before sliding to unlock it.

The message was short, but shocking.

“I know you true identity Cody Watson”

“Really” Cody chuckles reading the message and the next one pops in.

“Or should I say Rudy Gray”

“What the …….” Cody paused as another message pop in this one was far more shocking than before.

“I also know your weakness”

And below the message was a picture of Alex and Mina together.

Cody’s heart skipped a beat as he stopped the car.

Who was this person that sent him the message?
