Ellie scrolled through Angela’s phone showing Angela’s mother some of Angela and Rudy’s photo.
It was from three years ago.
“Oh my ….”
“Isn’t that Rudy Georgina’s Son”
“Huh?” Angela and Mina raised their brows.
“Wait, what?” Angela said, a confused look on her face.
“How do you know him?”
“I know his mother,” Her mother said.
“She and I use to work together,since we are both celebrities”
Angela’s eyes widened in shock.
She had no idea that her mother knew Rudy’s mother.
“Rudy’s mother is a celebrity?” She asked, her voice full of disbelief.
“Yes,” Her mother said, a proud smile on her face.
“Georgina was a famous actress back in those days,she even won some awards”
Angela was in complete shock.
She had no idea that Rudy’s mother was an actress, let alone a famous one.
“Why didn’t Rudy never tell me?” She asked.
“Probably don’t want to brag about it,” Ellie replied.
“Yeah that’s true” Angela muttered remembering how cold Rudy always acts.
“But Mom, how close are you to Rudy’s mother?” Angela asked.
“We were good friends for a long time,” Her mother said.
“We met in college and bonded over our shared love of theater” Her mother smiled.
“We lost touch after we both got married and had children” Her mother lied.
“Wow,” Angela said, still trying to process everything.
“Why don’t we go over to Rudy’s mother house? I bet she has been feeling sad since Rudy passed away” Ellie said.
“That’s a great idea,” Angela smiled.
“I know she would love to see you again mother” Angela said looking at her mom who just shook her head.
“Huh?” Ellie raises her brows.
“Is there something wrong,mother?” Angela asked.
“Yes,” Her mother nodded.
“Rudy’s mother is dead,” Angela’s mother said slowly.
Angela felt like the ground had been pulled out from under her.
Her mother’s words hit her like a ton of bricks.
“What?” She said, her voice barely above a whisper.
“How… what happened?”
Her mother looked at her with a sad expression on her face.
“She was in a car accident,” She lied.
“It was very sudden and unexpected…” Angela’s mother suddenly paused when her phone started ringing.
She looked down at her phone and saw that it was her director number on the screen.
“Hello?” She said, answering the call.
“Oh! Okay,”
“I will be on my way” Angela’s mother hung up and said.
“I will see you girls later, I have some important business I need to attend to”
“Wait, what?” Angela said, her eyes wide with surprise.
“But…” Angela started to protest, but her mother was already out of the door.
OUTSIDE.
Angela’s mother started to breath heavily as she walked toward her car.
“I… I can’t believe this”
“I can’t”
“I just can’t,”She muttered entering her car.
“How did she know him”
“How did Angela know Rudy”
As She drove off, she kept turning over the same question in her mind.
How did her daughter know Georgina’s Son?
Her mind kept spinning with questions but she had no answer.
She let out a short sigh and smiled.
“It was a good thing we’ve already taken him out”
ANGELA’S PLACE.
“Gosh! She just comes and goes whenever she feels like” Angela sighs in frustration.
“Ahem, remember that I was the one who called her over,” Ellie said, clearing her throat.
“Maybe we should focus on cleaning instead of your mom?”
Angela blinked, looking at Ellie with surprise.
“No way that’s too stressful,” She said.
“You know if Rudy was still alive he wouldn’t love a girl who can’t clean her apartment” Ellie said.
“Oh my gosh!” Angela exclaimed, gasping.
“You can’t say that! That’s so insensitive!”
“But it’s true!” Ellie protested.
“Haha, you’re probably right,too bad he isn’t alive” Angela sighs sadly.
“Yeah,but still, you can’t just leave your house like this, we will be moving to the female dorms tomorrow”
“You’re right,” Angela said, looking around at the mess.
“I can’t believe I let it get this bad,I guess I’ve just been so busy crying because of Rudy that I haven’t had time to clean”
“Yeah, let’s just clean this together,” Ellie said, a determined look on her face.
“Let’s make a plan and tackle this mess, We’ll start by removing all this trash and then we’ll deep clean every surface in this place” Ellie smiled.
“That sounds like a lot of work,” Angela groaned.
“It is,” Ellie said.
“But we can do it together,” Ellie added and Angela smiled.
NIGHT
Somewhere around the city,Cody could be seen breathing heavily while jogging.
He was running as fast as his legs could carry him, his feet pounding the pavement.
Sweat was dripping down his face and his heart was racing, but he didn’t stop.
He had to keep going, he had to keep moving.
Suddenly, he heard a voice.
“Hey!” It called.
“Slow down!”
Cody skidded to a halt, panting for breath.
He turned to see who had called out to him and found himself face-to-face with a tall, blonde woman in a tracksuit.
“You’re running way too fast,” She said.
“You need to slow down and take it easy, you could injure yourself if you keep going at this pace”
“Why don’t we take a break and walk for a bit?”
Cody looks at the woman for a moment then ignores her.
He continues jogging.
The woman’s eyes widened in surprise.
“Hey, you can’t just ignore me!” She said, a hint of irritation in her voice.
“I’m just trying to help”
Cody kept jogging, not even glancing in her direction.
The woman huffed, clearly annoyed, and then jogged to catch up with him.
“Listen, I’m just trying to help you,” she said.
“Running at that pace isn’t good for your body.
You could hurt yourself if you’re not careful”
Cody ignored her again and kept jogging, his mind elsewhere.
The woman let out frustrated signs.
“I can’t afford to die twice,” Cody said to himself, stopping in his tracks.
The woman stopped as well, looking at him with a puzzled expression.
Rudy signs for the chance to catch his breath.
They began to walk at a more leisurely pace, and as they did, the woman struck up a conversation.
“So, what’s your name?” She asked.
“Why should I tell you that?”Cody asked, breathing heavily.
The woman was taken aback by his question.
“Well, I was just trying to be friendly,” She said, a bit flustered.
“I’m not sure why you’re being so unapproachable” She added and Cody shrugged.
“I’m just not in the mood to make small talk right now,” He said.
“I’m sorry if I’m being rude”
The woman’s expression softened.
“It’s okay,” She said.
“I get it, sometimes you just don’t feel like talking,so I won’t push you”
“But at least can you tell me your name, you look handsome and your body is …”
“My name Cody,” He cut in.
“And you?”
“I’m Sally,” She said, offering her hand.
“It’s nice to meet you, Cody”
“Nice to meet you too, Sally,” Cody said, shaking her hand.
He was surprised by how friendly she was being, given his cold reception.
“So, what brings you out here for a jog?” Sally asked.
“Are you training for something?”
“Yeah I’m training,” Cody said, shrugging.
“Training for what?” Sally asked, curious.
“That’s private,” Cody said.
“Oh” Sally smiled.
But it suddenly turned into a frown when she saw some guys who forcefully dragged a girl into a dark alley.
Sally’s smile faded and was replaced by a look of concern.
“Do you see that?” She asked, her voice hushed.
Cody followed her gaze and saw what she was looking at.
“Yeah, I do,” He said.
“Do you think we should do something?” She asked.
“No,”
“Huh?” Sally’s eyes widened.
“Nothing,I’m doing nothing,”Cody replied.
“What? You see a girl been dragged to a dark alley and you said you’re doing nothing”
“Yes” Cody said, continuing walking away and the girl rushed to block him.
“What the hell is wrong with you?” Sally demanded, blocking his path.
“How can you just stand by and let that girl get hurt?”
“It’s not my problem,” Cody said, his tone cold and indifferent.
“I don’t know that girl, and I’m not going to put myself in danger for someone I don’t even know”
Sally was speechless, unable to believe what she was hearing.
“You can’t be serious,” She said.
“You really think it’s okay to just walk away and let that girl get hurt?”
“Yes,” Cody said, looking her straight in the eye.
“And not only that, but I think you should too.”
Sally’s eyes widened, and she felt like she’d been punched in the gut.
“You’re unbelievable,” She said.
“I can’t believe you’re actually suggesting that we let someone get hurt just because we don’t know them”
“It’s not about knowing them or not,” Cody said, his voice hard.
“It’s about self-preservation, I’m not going to risk my life for a stranger, and I don’t think you should either”
“But what if it was someone you knew?” Sally asked, her voice rising.
“What if it was your friend or your family? Would you still say it’s not your problem?”
Cody paused, his expression becoming more cold.
“What do you know about friends? What do you know about family?”
“In the end they we all end up betraying you”
Sally was shocked by Cody’s words.
“See I don’t have a family or friends”
“I don’t have any love one,I don’t have any feelings,I don’t have a heart”
“I’m heartless,so get out of my way” Cody slightly pushed Sally out of his way as he continued to walk away.
Sally shook her head in disbelief.
“No way”
“That’s can’t be true”
“He doesn’t have any friends or family,he is heartless”
“No way,he must be lying,” Sally muttered, shaking her head in disbelief.
Cody suddenly stopped on his track and called.
“Hey Sally”
“How do you want to help that girl?” Cody asked, facing her.
“Huh?”
Sally hesitated, not sure what to do.
She could try to intervene, but she didn’t know what was going on and it could be dangerous.
On the other hand, She could call the police, but they might not get there in time to help.
She was frozen, not knowing what to do. But then, she thought about the girl who was in trouble, and she knew she had to do something.
She took a deep breath and turned to face Cody.
“I’m going to help her,” She said, her voice firm.
“I don’t care if it’s dangerous or if I don’t know what’s going on,I’m not going to stand by and do nothing”
Cody stared at her for a moment, and said.
“You’re a good person, Sally,” He said.
“I admire your courage and your compassion,I hope you won’t die,” Cody said and continued walking down the street.
Sally was shocked,for a moment she thought Cody was going to help her save the girl but he chose to ignore them.
“Darn it,he is truly heartless”Sally muttered and began to walk down the dark alley the girl was forcefully dragged to.
“She is really going “Cold sighs heavily as he watches Sally.
“I guess she is not afraid of death,” Cody said following her.
DARK ALLEY.
As Sally approached the dark alley, her heart was pounding in her chest.
She knew that it could be dangerous, but she was determined to help the girl.
She turned the corner and stopped short, her breath catching in her throat.
There, in the middle of the alley, was a man holding a high school girl by the arm.
The girl was struggling, but the man’s grip was tight.
Sally’s mind was racing.
What should she do?
Should she call the police? Should she try to intervene?
She didn’t know what to do, but she knew she had to do something.
She took a deep breath and began to walk slowly towards the pair.
As she approached, the man turned and saw her.
His face was twisted in anger, and he let go of the girl’s arm and took a step towards Sally.
Sally’s heart was pounding, and she was terrified, but she stood her ground.
She looked the man in the eye and said.
“Let her go”
The man glared at her, and for a moment.
Sally thought he was going to attack her.
But then, he turned back to the girl and smiled.
“You two can have the new girl” The man said.
Sally raised her brows not understanding what the man meant until two men suddenly popped out behind her and grabbed her.
“Thank you boss” They smiled happily as one began to squeeze Sally’s @$$.
“Ouch” She yelped in pain.
“You’re so beautiful”The man smiled walking toward the girl.
As soon as he was about to touch the girl.
A figure appeared in front of him blocking him from touching the girl.
“Who the h…”
He wasn’t able to complete the sentence before a punch landed on his face.
“You guys should learn how…” Cody paused when he felt someone holding his hand.
“Brother is that you?” The voice slowly asked.
