OUTSIDE THE AIRPORT.
“Whoa! Finally”
“It feels so great to be back,” Adrian said.
“I wonder how she is doing, I can’t wait to see her again”
He smiled as he waited for his ride home, a car suddenly stopped beside him and honked loudly.
“Get in @$$hOle” The voice said to Adrian and he smiled.
“Mina” He called happily as he quickly got into the car with his luggages.
“I’m so happy to see you Mina and I can’t believe you…”
“And I am not happy to see you” Mina cut in before Adrian could finish his word as she started driving.
Adrian kept quiet for a moment after Mina’s statement and said.
“I can’t believe you were the one that came to pick me up, I thought it was going to be Mum or the driver”
“Well, mother and the driver are not around so she called me to pick you up,” Mina replied.
“So don’t think it was anything special” Mina added and Adrian didn’t say anything else till they got home.
As soon as they arrived, Mina got down from the car and went inside without helping Adrian with his luggages after she pulled into the driveway.
Adrian let out a short and sad sigh.
“I guess she is still mad at me” He muttered and began to carry his luggages inside.
As he carried his bags inside, Adrian couldn’t help but feel a sense of sadness and disappointment.
He’d been looking forward to seeing Mina, and he’d thought that maybe they could talk about what had happened between them in the past.
But now, it seemed like she didn’t want to talk to him at all.
He lugged his bags up the stairs and into his room, feeling a sense of resignation.
He had always thought Mina would have forgotten about the past and moved on but he was wrong.
He set his bags down on the floor and sat on his bed, feeling suddenly exhausted.
He wasn’t sure what to do next. Should he try to talk to Mina again, or should he just leave her alone? He wasn’t sure what the right thing to do was.
He stood up and headed out of his room and headed downstairs.
As he reached the bottom of the stairs, he saw Mina in the living room, staring at her phone. She looked up, and their eyes met.
For a moment, neither of them spoke.
Then, Adrian broke the silence.
“I heard from mum that you got yourself a boyfriend,” Adrian said.
The words hung in the air between them.
“Yeah, I did,” She replied.
“Oh, that’s nice,” Adrian said, shifting his weight from one to the other, not sure of what to say.
“So, who…. who is he?” He asked, his voice soft.
Mina looked down at her fingers, hesitating on how to answer. She begins to debate whether or not to tell Adrian about her relationship when she remembers what happened to Rudy.
“Wait, why are you asking these questions?” Mina asked, frowning.
“Ahem”
“Don’t tell me you’re planning to kill my boyfriend just like you did to senior Rudy” She said.
“No, that’s not it,” Adrian said, trying to defend himself.
“Lair” Mina yelled at him.
“I know what you’re planning”
“You’re planning to destroy my new relationship just like you did back then”
“No Mina I wasn’t planning to destroy your relationship, I was just….”
“Lair, liar, liar” Mina cut in.
“Do you think I have forgotten, you were the one that posted the picture that day?” Mina said.
“The picture got senior Rudy suspended and the following day we find out that senior Rudy was dead till now we haven’t found senior Rudy dead body”
“Where are you keeping it?” Mina asked already in the midst of tears.
“Where are you keeping senior Rudy body,”
“Tell me”
“Tell me where it is”
“Hey Mina calm down, I wasn’t the one that killed Rudy, trust me it was all just a misunderstanding” Adrian said.
“I don’t know anything about his death”
“Lair, you keep claiming and denying that you were not the one, when I clearly saw the picture on your phone and laptop” Mina said.
“That’s true but I wasn’t the one that posted the picture on the school blog” Adrian said.
“Lair, do you think I’m going to fall for your lies?” Mina said and Adrian sighs.
“I still don’t know why you won’t believe me but I know nothing about Rudy’s death” Adrian said.
“And I also don’t get why you’re still upset about someone who is dead already,” Adrian added.
“Huh? What did you just say? Are you really asking me why am I upset about senior Rudy after you kill the very first guy I ever love?” Mina stared at him, her eyes hard.
“I’ve told you several times I didn’t kill him!”
He yelled and ran a hand through his hair, his frustration mounting.
“What? Did… did… did you just yell at me”
Mina said her voice shaking with emotions as she brought out a knife from her pocket.
Adrian’s eyes widened in shock.
“Mina, what are you doing?” He asked, his voice filled with fear.
“I want to kill you, just like the way you kill senior Rudy” Mina half yelled.
GEORGE’S MANSION.
LINDA’S ROOM.
“Wow! Your room is so… luxurious just like mine but yours is grand!” Celine exclaimed, taking in the lavish furnishings and the stunning view of the cityscape.
“It’s like something out of a magazine!”
“Thanks,” Linda said.
“You’re welcome,” She added with a smile.
“I’m glad you like it! I put a lot of thought into the design of my room. I wanted it to feel luxurious, but also cozy and inviting”
“I think it turned out pretty well!”
“It’s definitely cozy,” Celine agreed.
“The decor is so beautiful, and the view is just incredible! I could sit here and look out the window all day” Celine said, walking toward the window.
Linda laughed as she sat on her bed.
“I know what you mean! I could get lost in this view. It’s like a piece of art”
“And this room is definitely a work of art,” Celine added.
“The way you’ve chosen the colors and the patterns, and the way everything comes together, it’s really something special”
Linda smiled, feeling a rush of pride at Celine’s words.
“Thanks,” She said.
“It means a lot to hear that from you. You have such an eye for design, so I really appreciate your opinion””
“Well, it’s my pleasure to give it!” Celine replied, staring at the gate through the window.
“I’m curious….” Celine paused when she saw a black SUVs drive in through the gate.
Celine watched the SUV make its way down the long driveway.
There was something about the car that gave her a strange sense of foreboding.
“What is it?” Linda asked, noticing the expression on her friend’s face.
She stood up and walked closer to Celine.
“Do you see that car?” Celine asked, pointing at the SUV.
“I don’t know, but there’s something about it that gives me a bad feeling”
“Huh? what do you mean,” Linda asked with her brows raised.
“That SUV belongs to the guards,” Linda said.
“Wait… you mean those guys dressed in black suits we saw earlier with your dad?” Celine asked and Linda nodded.
“Yeah, I think they must be here for a reason” Linda muttered as they watched, the SUV came to a stop in front of the house, and a guy got out from the driver’s seat.
“Oh that’s Paul, I wonder what he is doing here” Linda said, staring at Paul who was dressed in black suit and tie.
“Paul?”
“Yeah, he is one of the guards” Linda said as Paul went to open the back seat and a guy came out of the car.
Linda’s eyes widened in excitement as she saw who it was.
“Cody!!!” She screamed rushing out of her room.
“Cody?” Celine muttered, staring at the guy who just got down the car.
The guy suddenly looked up at the window and their eyes met each other.
Celine quickly looked away and bent down as her heart began to beat fast.
“What was that just now?” She asked, touching her chest.
“What is it beating so fast?”
“Why… Why is my heart pounding so fast?”
“What…. What are these crazy feelings?”
“This ….. these feelings are just like whenever I’m with Rudy or seeing him” She muttered.
“It can’t be it, right? It can’t be,can it”
“His eyes?”
“It’s because of his eyes, that why my heart is pounding this fast”
“But… but… but those…. those eyes are just like Rudy’s own”
