“Who the hell is this person?!
Who have I wronged so much?” Jerome managed to say something, but Doctor Mark already ended the call because he wasn’t ready to answer that question.
“Arrgghhh!!!” Jerome screamed again, and croached down to the ground in both joy and great pain.
Jerome couldn’t contain his joy.
Yes. He couldn’t, because he never expected this shocking revelation.
Like, the joy was over flowing, it was too much for his dear heart to contain.
The wave and speed at which that joy was moving, was so d@mn much that it made Jerome feel weak. Too weak that he had to croach to the ground for support.
But even though he was over joyed, he was in extreme pain and hurt, almost as much as he is happy.
He’s happy at the fact that he’s not sick of cancer after all.
Happy at the fact that he’s not going to dìe in few months time like he had been told.
Happy at the fact that he’s not leaving his family soon. He’s not leaving his friends soon.
And happy that he’s not leaving the two most important people he loves and cherishes so much in his life.
But right now, he’s hurting so bad. Who is behind all this?
Who has he offended so much to the point of where and how that person has taken his offense so far.

Doctor Mark’s words came sounding in his head again, and he began to think. Deep thoughts that his head instantly began to ache him and he started feeling dizzy.
However, he was still in that state, trying to get himself together, when a knock came at his door.
Jerome hesitated first, then the knock came again and again until the third knock before he gathered himself up and went for the door.
The moment he opened it, Janella came to view, and instantly, Jerome hugged her so d@mn tight like a kid who is seeing his mommy again after few days of not seeing her.
“I love you, baby. So f*cking much” Jerome said and sniffled like one who has been crying, getting Janella confused with his sudden behavior.
“JJ?….” Janella called softly as she moved her hands and wrapped them around Jerome, hugging him back, warmly.
“What’s going on? Why are you like this? And …have you been crying? Why?” Janella bombarded him with many questions at a time.
“You are supposed to be getting ready for the hospital , Jerome, so we don’t go late” Janella said, moving her left hand to Jerome’s hair where she began to run her fingers through it. That little thing she was doing to his hair, instantly made Jerome feel relaxed and calm.
“JJ?” Janella called again and slowly broke away from the hug so she could look him in the eye. She knew he was sobbing so she wanted to stare at his face and know why.
“We won’t be going to the hospital anymore. We will, but not right now” Jerome quickly said before Janella could start asking him questions.
“Huh? What? Why?! How can you say that, Jerome? Why the sudden change?…. We both agreed that we would go to the hospital today and you even called this morning and asked me if I’m ready, and I said yes….and you were excited over to the phone, so why are you saying we….what happened? What’s….” Jerome quickly shut her up by placing his lips softly on hers as she was starting to get worried and asking too many questions at a time without taking a breath.
“It’s fine, baby” Jerome said, and as he said that, tears began to roll down as always. He held Janella’s hands into his, and shut his eyes tight, kissing Janella’s hands after opening his eyes.
“I’m cancer free, Janella. If what he said isn’t a lie or a joke, then I have no cancer” Jerome said it out, making a long sniffle, alongside a deep breath.
Janella on the other hand, gave him a perplexed look as she didn’t understand what she just heard him say.
Like, what the hell is he saying right now?
Wait!! This is crázy and she feels bad for thinking that way, but has Jerome been pretending to have cancer or what?
Has he been testing and fooling her all this while?
Because she doesn’t understand why he would all of a sudden change his mind and decide not to go to the hospital anymore. And….and now saying he’s cancer free?
Has he been really testing her?
No! Jerome can’t do that. No, no, no!
Someone should tell her what she’s missing here.
Who is the “he” that Jerome is talking about right now?
“JJ, what are you talking about? What are you saying?” Janella asked, though worried and felt unease, but she tried to stay calm.
“Come here” Jerome said, taking her by the hand as they both entered his room fully.
He picked his phone up from the ground where he had left it. He then unlocked it and went to his recordings.
Actually, Jerome started recording the call at some point because he wanted to listen to everything the doctor was saying again. He did that because at that moment, he didn’t want to forget or leave out anything the doctor has said when he wants to tell Janella about it, or his family.
He can’t really tell why he felt like recording the call, but his mind just told him to, and he’s right now glad that he did.
He didn’t know where that conversation was driving to, but when the doctor started saying he should stop taking his drugs, he just had that feeling and he immediately began to record the call.
He wanted everyone including himself, to hear every d@mn thing the doctor was going to say to him, because at that point where the doctor said he should stop taking his drugs, he was kind of not himself anymore. And he also knew he wouldn’t be able to say the exact way Doctor Mark said it.
Anyway, Janella obediently followed him till they got to his bed and sat down. He clicked on the recording, handing over the phone to Janella instantly and Janella began to listen to it, keenly.
As she listened, her eyes kept bulging out, she kept turning to look at Jerome and before she knew it, she was already shedding tears of both pain and joy.
By the time she was done listening to the recording, Janella jumped and clung on his body like she hadn’t seen him in months.
She began to plant several kisses on his face, lips and every part of his body that was kissable.
She was too happy over what she heard, not like she did not hear that bad parts of it. She did, but she was more focused on the good news.
The part that said her handsome king is cancer free.
“Ahhh, oh my gosh!!!” Her happy voice was finally heard. Hugging, hugging and hugging the hell out of each other until they landed on the bed on their backs, letting out happy laughs and smiles.

“Dude, why do I feel like there is something Jerome is hiding from us, and obviously doesn’t wanna tell or talk about it” Brien started as he turned to Fred and said.
They are both seen walking and heading to the hall together, where most students are. Lectures are yet to start, so they still have a free time.
“Yeah….” Fred replied slowly as he thought about something while he replied Brien.
“Mm hmm. You remember the other day at the football field when we sat down, taking some break? You remember what I said after Janella kissed him? Can you still remember how his expression changed the moment I made mentioned of wedding?”
“And you know that wasn’t the first time he has reacted that way after talking about marriage” Brien said seriously, feeling really worried and at the same time, curious to know what is actually up with Jerome.
“That’s right, bro. You know, I have actually been thinking about this same thing, and it’s really been bothering me. Especially what he said while on a video call with him yesterday. I don’t think dude is alright” Fred said too, and Brien could only node his head.
“So what should we do? I don’t really feel cool about this. I feel like he is just hiding behind those smiles he lets out all the time” Brien spoke again.
“Nothing for now actually. Remember he said he’s gonna tell us what the problem is when we see. So let’s wait for him to come. If he still doesn’t tell us, then we we’ll find a way out of this” Fred replied. Brien didn’t say anything though, but Fred knew he agreed with what he said.
“So….what’s up with you and Lenora?” Bren then asked with a smirky smile, changing the conversation immediately.
“What are you talking about? Why are you even asking me what’s up with me and her?” Fred asked, giving Brien one funny eye side.
“Shut the f*ck up and stop playing du.mb with me. So you actually think I didn’t see you winking at her the other day, huh? And she f*cking smiled at you. What the hell is going on?” Brien said and Fred chuckled out loud.
“I never knew I am now being watched. F*ck you, man, you’re an a*sshole. So what’s bad in winking at a lady, huh?” Fred asked and Brien looked at him funnily, giving him that bombastic eye side, and Brien could only laugh.
“I know what your wink can do, Fred. And I also know where that same wink can take a lady to” Brien said seriously, making Fred to cackle out this time as he already understood what Brien was talking about.
“What are you insinuating, d_1ckhead?” Fred rolled eyes at him with a light chuckle.
“Absolutely nothing. I can’t be insinuating when you already know what I am talking about” Brien replied. Although, Fred didn’t say anything, but he smiled.
“Well, I think I’m starting to like her, really” Fred blurted out suddenly, causing Brien to instantly choke on his spit, and he began to cough hard, holding his chest.
“You can dìe if you want to. I swear, I’ll be among those who will carry your coffin and dance around with it” Fred said and Brien almost kicked his bàlls hard.
“It is you and your little snake that refuses to stay in your pànt they’ll dance around with, idiot!” Brien shot, and Fred burst out laughing like a màd man.
“Did you just call my ten inches a “little snake? This same ten inches ladies dìe for?” Fred asked, and it was Brien’s time to laugh like a crazy person too, when Fred’s words hit him hard.
They were both still laughing when they saw Janella and Jerome holding hands and walking towards them in grand style.
From the way they both were looking, Fred and Brien didn’t need anyone to tell them that those two were extremely happy about something they don’t know yet.
Especially Jerome. There’s this kind of joy on his face that they have never seen before since they knew him.
Yes! Jerome is swimming in a pool of excitement right now. A pool with lots of roses, with Desiree and Janella inside it, swimming happily with him.
He actually didn’t want to come for the lectures anymore.
Even though he was happy with the news of him being cancer free. He also felt too hùrt that he didn’t want to leave the house, if possible, the whole of today.
But his baby told him to not try that. She told him to not even try and ruin this biggest news, the best news ever! He shouldn’t try and ruin it by being sàd instead of happy.
Yes, he’s badly hurting, knowing that someone did this kind of wicked and crùel thing to him.
Yes, he is badly hurting because that same person is unknown, and will be willing to go to any extent just to destroy him, according to what Doctor Mark’s words.
But Janella told him to leave all that for now, for just this moment and look on the bright side of it.
He should just forget about all the negative sides of the situation and just enjoy the moment. At least, to make up for his sad and worried days, even though it wouldn’t be up to quarter. But let him just forget about anything that will make him sad and enjoy this moment.
They are sure going to tackle this, they will fight this battle together, but for now, let the happiness just flow as it is.
“Have they officially finalized it?” Fred asked, staring unbelievably at those two who were still walking to their direction.
“Wait, is….are those bottles of champagnes in their hands, or I’m not seeing well?” Brien asked, funnily cleaning his eyes.
“Oh my f*ck!!! I think he was to propose” Crazy Fred said and Brien immediately turned to look at him.
“Why would he want to come to school to propose to his woman? Are you high or what?” Brien jibed, and Fred smirked.
“Okay. He should go to the shrine and propose to her in the presence of his ancestors, right?” Fred asked like a mad person, and as always always Brien burst out laughing hard.
While two were still coming, Lenora and Alexa arrived the hall too and saw them.
They felt so d@mn happy to see their best friend.
Well, they weren’t surprised at all, seeing Janella and Jerome that way because Janella already told them what is going on between her and Jerome.
You needed to see how they jumped in excitement, especially Lenora who had been waiting for this for so long; to hear and see that Janella is in a relationship.
Anyway, Janella and Jerome finally walked and got to them.
“Hey singles” Jerome said immediately.
“Hey singles?” Both the guys and ladies chorused, taking turns to look at each other, unbelievably.
“Uh huh? Aren’t you all single?” Jerome smirked, with much excitement in his heart.
“I think this oppression is going to be too much. Fred, let’s go get married, please” Brien turned to Fred and said, senselessly.
“Huh?” Fred gave him that scowled look, eyeing Brien seriously and funnily. “Are you màd or planning to? Did I tell you I am tired of pu$$ìes?
Stay away from me if you don’t want your d_1ck and balls nailed on the cross” Fred barked, and they all burst out laughing hard.
